I can say to my new Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, hey, find a keto-friendly restaurant nearby and text it to Beth and Steve. And it does without me lifting a finger. So I can get in more squats anywhere I can. One, two, three. Will that be cash or credit? Credit.

And just laughing outside of healthcare and hanging out and doing activities. Like I remember this lady that this morning in the hotel room, they saw me walking out from the hotel because I was shooting some content for Edmonton. And they're like, hey, John, we're going to your show this night. And listen, we're coming from Vancouver because we didn't know you have a Vancouver show. So we got our tickets here in Edmonton. And we just want to thank you because...
We just took a trip. Two girls. Two girls. We took a trip and we're in our 50s and I never knew or we never thought that we would ever do this. And that just like melts my heart because like we are so connected to trauma and conflict.

If you're wondering who's the guest for this episode of the podcast, it's none other than one of the most famous labor and delivery nurse out there. You've probably seen her content. She's been popping her... We're not going to say...
Popping her ass, popping her cooch. I'm too old to be popping anything. Everything. And showing you how to give birth properly and in a fun way. And she's also friends with one of my good friends, Sydney Fuller. I love you, Nurse Sydney. We love you. We love you, girl. Keep doing your content. This is Mama Nurse Tina. Hello.
yeah we made oh my god thank you so much yes you are from edmonton i am yes you are from edmonton oil country baby oilers go go oilers go we're gonna get it this year we missed it by just this much just this much so they're gonna get just the tip we missed it by just the tip so i love you tina but you know that i'm from montreal and i'm
I'm Habs. Go Habs go. Sorry, how did the Habs do last year in the Stanley Cup? How did they do?
Not quite. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. But listen, I think we are united for once as Canadians because of all the shit that's happening politically. And I have never seen Canadians sing our national anthem with pride. Loud and proud, baby. They're like, oh, Canada. I was like, damn, y'all be singing now.
2025. It's been what? That's all it took. Decades. But anyways, yeah, I don't even hockey or ski, but yes, I love hockey. You don't hockey or ski. I do both. Well, I don't do both, but I have kids who do. All right. Well, we want to know more about you other than just being mama nurse, Tina. So,
Introduce yourself to everybody. Oh, boy. Okay. So, mom of four, but that's not my identity. That's just a perk of living. Yes, ma'am. Period. Yeah. I've been a nurse for 17 years. 17 years. And yet I have an age today. Yes, you look amazing. Yeah. So, I started off in emergency nursing. I did some ICU for a bit. I did some travel nursing to the beautiful California. Oh, my God.
And then I settled in labor and delivery and I absolutely love it to pieces. But I've done many things over the years. I worked at Dairy Queen. I was a tap dancer. Okay, so you know what? This is such a very, very interesting life. So you are originally from Edmonton. Yeah. Oh, hold on. Born in... This is going to ruffle. Born in Calgary. Born in Cal...
Oh, the Battle of Alberta. Yeah. Born in Calgary. Born in Calgary. Yeah, moved to Edmonton. Do you have any siblings? I have one sister. You have one younger? I do have a sister. Older sister. Older sister. So I have an older sister and she has three beautiful kids and I have four kids. So my mom and dad are very, very happy.
Oh my God. They're probably like, yes, this is the best grandparent life. Yeah, they're like winning. And my husband happens to be Filipino. Yes. You're just cracking all this like new, okay, news. So I'm so happy because the first time we met, the first thing she told me is like, my husband is named John and he's a Filipino. He's not Filipino. But he's a doctor. And I'm like,
What an anomaly is that? I was like, what kind of abnormal shit is that? I was like, a doctor? Where he got the money from? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. So you are the youngest sibling. I am the youngest. Yeah, the youngest sibling. You are born... I was the bad sibling, the black sheep sibling. Oh my God. I had like every color hair under the rainbow. I had the piercings that I had to take out in nursing school. Yes. Because kids, I don't know if you know this, but back in the day...
When I was in nursing school, which was a long time ago, we had to look very, very professional. Oh, God. We had to take out the piercings, shoes only white. So Florence Nightingale days. Yeah. Straight up lantern. No, no colored Nike swooshes. I had to dye my hair. That's interesting. I had to dye my hair because it was in a bold pattern.
So it was blonde and black, but the pattern was bold and might scare the old people. So I had to actually dye my hair. That's fucked up. Right? And so I retaliated. I said, all right, that's fine. So until the moment we walked into clinical, I dyed it like a bright fuchsia color and I strutted on into my class and I was like, good morning. I dyed my hair.
Rack story. Anyway, what got you into nursing? You know what? Actually, I wanted to be a doctor. Then I failed all of the prereqs for medical school real bad, like organic chemistry. Bad. It was just bad physics. Yeah. Organic chemistry. I hated that. Awful. Anyway, so when I looked at all of that, I said, well, this can't be right for me if I can't.
I can't get it done. Get it done. And then I flipped through the, whatever that giant book that the universities used to have before it was all online. And I said, wait a minute, all of the courses for nursing, I have like A's in. Oh. So let's, let's give that a go. My mom, my mom said. That feels like, I should explain that. It feels like, like nursing is for the stupids. Yeah.
He's like, wait a second. If I got D's as a doctor in prereqs and I got A's for nursing, that looks like I'm in the right place to be. Let's be real here. Let's be real. We know that the academia portion is the doctors, but we know that the real smarts, the real work comes from the nurses. I tell this to my husband all the time. Clockety clock.
And you cannot tell her no for that because she's married to a doctor. That's right. And I tell him all the time. I said, you would be nowhere without your nurses. Period. So I said, well, let's give this a go. My mom said, you know that you'll have to wipe poop off people's butts. Okay, she warned you. Oh, I said I do. Anyway, she said, when I came home, I felt accomplished that I had helped an old man who happened to be Mr. Smith was covered in poop. And I was not bothered by it. She goes, no.
you're going to be a great nurse. Oh, that's super nice. That's the one. And so like, it was never like, oh, I wanted to be a nurse when I was five. No, no, no. It just, it just so happened that you flip on that thing and then you're like, you know what? I'm going to just do this. Oh, hey, all right. Yeah, I got this. Oh, that's so nice. Is there any healthcare worker in the family or anything at all related to healthcare? No, my sister's like, was an accountant for a while.
Is that police? Like, yeah. Wow. That's so nice. So like nursing was... I'm leading the way. You are a blessing to the profession then. It worked well. I'm the chosen one. You are the chosen one. I know. I love that. How long was the program in nursing school in your years? Four years. Four years. Yeah. Oh. Yeah. That's... Degree. Yeah. Okay. Because I came from Montreal and we have like...
College and university. So we do three and then two. So it's like five years. Three and two? Yes. Oh, so you guys are extra smart nurses. No. The extra year. The extra year just to have the same pay. Extra year of trauma. Just to have the same exact pay. Perfect. Perfect.
Okay. So I'll take two years. You know what I mean? Like kind of thing. No, we were four year and you could either do full university all four or you could do two college, two university. However, now in Edmonton, you can do four years at the college and the college was amazing. You felt like a person as opposed to a number at the university. So I would have gone college all four if I could have. You do it. Yeah. Yeah, absolutely. What were you, were you doing any other like drugs? No, no,
Apart from that one, is there any other profession that you did before nursing or nursing was the only thing? I went Dairy Queen into school. That was it. Dairy Queen into school. When you graduated as a nurse, what was the first ever unit that you work at? Oh, man. I went right into emergency nursing, but I was torn between emergency nursing and labor and delivery.
In my last clinical, you know how you can choose your last clinical? Yes. I selected women's health, meaning labor and delivery, but they put me in postpartum, which is lovely. Right. Unless you're looking for labor and delivery. Then you're like, I didn't want that. So then my instructor actually said, oh, Tina, there was just an opening for high risk antepartum.
Oh my God, that's the perfect. I love the antepartum. So I didn't know what antepartum was. But the words high risk in front of it piqued my interest. I said, yes, sign me up for that. So you did that. You went to emergency nursing. And that was great for a while. Until it wasn't. Yeah. That's where you met your husband. That is where I met my husband, though I really disliked him when I first met him.
Okay, so tell us the story. He was a fairly miserable human. I mean, like doctors in the ER are quite miserable. Some of them are like bitchy. No, he was actually miserable. He was just sort of in some life circumstances. Oh. Lady circumstances that wasn't...
He wasn't treating him well. So he was sort of, he took it out on some people. He just wasn't a happy guy. Like there just wasn't. But honestly, I. Right. Honestly, I have had doctors who are going through things in their life and sometimes they do take it out from the nurses. Yeah. And I just want to clarify this shit. If you are going through something in your life, it is not our fault that you are going through this and we are not supposed to be suffering from all those consequences that you put yourself into or what is happening in your life. Yeah. Yeah.
I feel like I'll listen and I'll help, but like, you don't be mean to me. I didn't, I didn't do it. Period. So yeah, so he was sort of not in a great life space. And, and so if you had told me then that I was going to marry him, I would have said, what? Yeah. Right. Pause. Pause.
Not for you. Yeah, I think you're watching the wrong show. That's incorrect information. Not for you. And then I went to ICU. He had broken up with the girl that he was with for a very long time. And he just started to be a happier human. And I went up to ICU. He's like Facebook messaged me and it was just kind of we just chatted from there. However, then we went on a couple of dates. He came on really, really strong. And I was like, like, pump the brakes, right?
So we had to take a little moment and then I was like, wait a minute, like this is a really good thing. So the rest is sort of history. It was 12, yeah, 12 years ago, almost 13. Oh my God.
That's so sweet. And we had a beautiful big wedding. And the Filipinos came to play. Let me tell you, we had, obviously we had our meal and our dessert table, and then we had a food truck for midnight lunch. And the Filipinos come out with their Ziploc bags. Oh, they will. I will take those burgers to go, please. Yep.
And guess what? They probably took the flowers that were sitting on the chair too. They took really cute though. Some of John's relatives, I asked them if they could bring the top of the cake to the gift opening the next day, but they didn't realize it was styrofoam. And they were so sweet and gentle with it. And they arrived at the gift opening with this beautiful cake and they put it down so gingerly. And I just went like this and I just knocked it right off. Their hearts just broke. And I said, sweet peas, it was styrofoam. But thank you so much for being so careful.
That is the cutest little thing. That's the Filipino way. Just like kind, kind, kind. That's what I love about his family. And what, like, did you realize that you're marrying into a very strong culture? Uh, no. Yeah, no. What I, and I don't know if this is universal, but very strong matriarch, like the mother runs the ship. Oh, matriarch. That's very. That's the way. That's the way. So, so yeah. So my mother-in-law was a very strong personality, which for me was very different from what I've experienced. And I'm a very strong personality. Right. And I'm.
Sort of a little bit of a black sheep. We've already talked about that. But yeah, so there's a learning curve to it for sure. And also in our culture, it's like if you are a mom and you have a boy, you're
It's like mama's little boy forever. Yeah, I thought that was what it was. It's a very strong bond. I find like mother and son bond. And it's exactly just trying to sort of find your footing and where you fit in. Exactly. And I guess it's just standing on business because that's what my wife did. I'm not going to tell you guys what my wife color is or anything like that. She's not Filipino. That's one thing I know because it's not Anna the nurse. Yes, it's not. It's not Anna the nurse, please. Are you sure?
But yeah, my wife's standing on business and my mom is very understanding. It took a while. Yeah, it does. It takes a while. Yeah. But the good thing is that we...
come to a compromise and things are working well and we are all happy. And that's what matters. And it's growing. And also understanding that our parents who were born in the 1980s, 70s, 60s have very, very strong beliefs about life and we are in a society right now where we're so woke about everything. And woke to the point that a little something, you're cancelled. Woke plus plus. That's what I think. Yeah.
Like, maybe. Like, I'm happy I'm born millennial because, man, the new, new generation is like, you breathe a little bit like, damn. Yeah. Are you racist? I was like, did my... I just asked for a McChicken. I don't know what...
I said, I read like, did you tell me I'm copying like a Spanish person from, like, what? Like. It's, it's, I'm an X-ennial, so I find it. X-ennial, yes. Oh, that's really nice. So you guys have been together for 12 years. And you guys have, how many babies do you guys have? Four.
Four mix full of peanut babies. Four babies. They're beautiful. Oh, my God. Three boys and a girl. It's lovely. Three boys and a girl. Yes, a lot of peens. I got a lot of peens in my house. That girl was literally what you were trying to get. Done. I said to my husband, you can get a snip. Like, I could be pregnant and you can get a snip. It's fine. Just go. Go get the snip. Did he get the snip? Yes, he did get the snip. Absolutely, he did. And you did not? No. Yes. No. No, because you know what? Women go through enough.
Men, get the snip. You can do it. Thank you. And that shit's reversible at some point, too. This is what I'm telling you. You know what is interesting? I made a post about this, and the men got real angry in the comments about it. I said, it's interesting that men can get a vasectomy, and they're offered this Comfort Plus package with this supportive underwear and all these medications, and women can have a baby, and then the next day they're supposed to plan brunch.
And there were some mad men in the comments. You know what? The thing is, like, also, men would just never understand. I am a man myself, but I guess, like, I guess I'm woke. But, like, I'm also not toxic masculine, which is, you know, absolutely amazing to me. What? I know. I'm not toxic. Because honestly, like, some men are just like, I feel like it. Bro, bro. I know, right? It hurts their ego. Yeah.
Because I think it's coming from the fact that they're patriarch. They're like the breadwinner of the family. But like sometimes you can be a stay-at-home dad. You can be a cook. You can be cleaning the house. You can be grocery shopping. You can be shopping for clothes. And that's totally fine. You can. You know what else you can do? You can wax your back. You can wax your butt. Yeah. That's okay. You can do all of those. You can manscape. You can Brazilian wax your ass. Yes. And guess what?
That doesn't take away that you're a man. You still got the pain. And some of y'all touches a little bit of this and you're like, that's gay. Police.
Let me ask you this. Is that a Filipino thing to like want to take care of your home? Because my husband is very, very clean. I think he might have OCD, but he's very clean. Likes to sweep. Can't go to bed till the dishes are put away. And I'm like, man. Oh my God, I'm exactly the same thing. Yeah, he's the cleaner. You are the same exact as my wife. I'm a pig, yeah. My wife could literally have like 20 pounds
of plates in there. Yeah. Dirty socks on the floor. Everything. Our bed like not changed for two weeks. She'll be fine. My husband wants to make the bed every day. Why? You're going to get back in it? No, absolutely not. It's not that. Hard pass. I know. Hard pass. It's not a Filipino culture. It's a Filipino trauma. Okay. Oh, okay.
It's not culturally... The two Johns need to trauma bond. Exactly. It's the reason why he's OCD. The reason why he does all of these things is because his mom...
You know, yell at him. Yeah, yeah. From when he was growing up, he's like, John, make your bed. John, you're 10 years old. You should be washing the dishes. John, do this. John, you're the only... Like, it's a trauma. Okay, all right. Because I am exactly the same thing, and I got it from... Shout out, mom. I got it from my mama. My mother. My mother. Thanks, mom.
And guess what? I'm so much cleaner now than my mom. Yeah. And she's like, oh, see, I told you. And I was like, please. I was like, please. I was like, now you're pissed that I'm... Like, I want you to clean this. Because now my mom is actually in my house right now. Yeah. She's living in my house. Yeah. Hi, mom. Hi, mom. She's living in my house because...
I am in a position in my life. Yeah. Actually, right now. Well, we'll talk about in the next podcast. But you guys, I'm in a position right now where I told my mom that she can quit her job. I love it. And I want her to work for me. I love it. And it's not work for her because she's really in my house and she's happy. Yeah. And she's happy. She's probably overjoyed. Like, that's that's it. Oh, my God. She would clean my laundry and she'll be happy folding them. She'll love it. She's loving it. And so like...
Yeah. It's, it's, you can give that to her though. Yeah. And that's all my goal in life to make her happy. But yeah, it's more of a trauma. It's not a cultural thing. It's more of like our parents, which I actually don't regret. I love, I was gonna say, I love that he's a clean guy. Cause otherwise our house would just burn. I think. For sure.
Anyway, so going back to you, that's super nice. It's super sweet. I've seen the faces of the babies. They're all beautiful. Mixed Filipino babies, honestly. When you mix a Filipino to something else, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. And my daughter has the most beautiful hazel eyes. Like I make this joke. This is a joke I make. Every kid that I kicked out, my uterus is like running out of toner. So they're actually getting like lighter and lighter and lighter as I'm kicking them out.
They're getting bleach. And all of my boys have really, really, really dark brown eyes. Oh, my God. Which we knew was going to happen. Yeah. But my daughter has like these honey hazel eyes and they're so pretty. That's cute. And I'm like, if anybody was going to get them, like, I'm glad that it's her because it's just, yeah, it's just like a sweet feature on her beautiful big eyes. So now we've got into get to know you as a person now.
Let's get to know you as a social media content creator, Mama Nurse Tina. So how did this all came about? You know what? I started doing mom comedy first and it was fun. But I put up like I think one or two videos about labor and delivery and they really took off. And it was like, wow, like there is...
a need for this information out there. Like, and, and if I have a way to deliver it in a really palatable way, then, then that's what I would love to do. And it sort of took off from there. And it's, it's nice that you can give information to people on an equal basis. Like everybody has the same access to the same information because we know that there are like maternal care deserts where there are people don't have access to care. We know that there are people who can't afford a prenatal class if there's not a free one to take. So it's kind of nice to have
this equal opportunity for everybody to take in really good quality information to continue having a healthy pregnancy and a healthy childbirth. I think that's such an amazing way to put it because you are right. There are so many out there who doesn't have the capacity or the ability to
get help when it comes to like being pregnant going through like pregnant loss or many other things that happens in womanhood and being able to provide it in social media which is the most powerful tool and spreading information I think it's such an amazing thing what was your first ever viral video oh it was probably like first time going to the bathroom after having a baby would probably be one of the ones you know what always does well because it's comedy is like the baby name ones because they're just so
And you're like, the babies. But like, what's, what's interesting about it is that usually it's based off of like someone's actual baby name. And so like, it's, it's, it's humorous, but it's also like, wow. Like they all like, I was like, what's your baby's name? Uh, unreal. Yeah.
Clidia. Clidia. Cantlay. Like, how do we spell it? C-U-N-T-L-E-I-G-H. I-G-H. Beautiful. Cantlay. Beautiful. I-G-H really makes it pretty. Caitlyn. Okay. Oh, like K-A-T-E-L-Y-N. No, no, no. Like C-A-T-H-E-L-Y-G-N-Y-C-X-Y-W-X-Y-Z. Hyphen I. Okay. So. Pardon? Caitlyn. Okay.
Please be absolutely for real. Like you are giving these kids hard time. That kid will never, ever, ever have to not spell their name. Yeah. She's like, just call me K. Yeah. Please, please just call me K. Like the letter K. Yeah. So those do well. But I think what has made some of my content really successful is that the delivery of
though it's educational for the most part, still has humor in it. And that's a, that's an important part too. It's palatable. It's like teaching, right? If you teach with such,
an aura of like fun and entertaining. People want to listen. People are not going to fall asleep in your class. That's right. And they'll remember things better too because they can like relate to it. And like, what do you think about social media? Because social media is such... Oh, she's a beast. Social media is a beast. It is a very fun, positive, but it can also be very negative. It's temperamental. Like it's straight up...
Yeah, it's a roller coaster for sure. And I think that that's the trouble with social media is that when it's good, it's great. When it's bad, it sucks. And you're like, why am I doing this? And especially Canadians, we don't get paid like on certain platforms, right? That's another thing that people need to understand. We're working for free dollars. Like we're just out of a labor of love. Yeah.
So like when it's bad and you're like, I'm not, I'm, this isn't as an income for me and I'm getting hate comments or I put all this work into a video that I loved and I was passionate about and it went nowhere. You're like, what am I doing? Like, why am I doing this? Exactly. So I think it's, it's,
The other thing I like about educational videos is a lot of times I'll get feedback from people specifically who say, I watched your content and it helped me do X, Y, and Z. And so that feedback is really nice. Or I watched your content. I went, oh, I didn't know that that was a concern. I went to my doctor and we had to induce because my baby was at risk, like stuff like that, where you are genuinely making a real impact in people's lives. And you're like, oh, that's why we're doing
it. So that feedback is really nice. So the comments are helpful. Leave the comments as long as they're kind. Exactly. So yeah, it's really nice. That's good. That's good. And I guess like, I just want to touch up with what you just said about like, hey, is there's so much of it in social media. Why? Why is there so much?
People would never go up to somebody in the street that they didn't know and say the things to their face that they type on a computer. Yeah. Like, why are we doing this? Because you're behind a computer and no one can... Keyboard warriors. That's what you call it. A keyboard warrior. You know what somebody said to me one time? In a comment, random comment on a video I had. You have a very hateable face. Why would you... Like, what would...
What made you think, I'm going to take the effort to write that comment on this person's video. You would never go up to somebody on the street and be like, fuck, you got a hateable face. Honestly, I learned in social media that no matter what you do, somebody will still hate you. It's wrong for somebody. You could be the most amazing person in the world and you're doing the most positive things and you're affecting people in such a positive way. There will still be at least one or two who will say like,
That's all you do? It's true. Oh my God, that is the most basic shit everyone... But then if you do more than that, they're going to be like, oh, how do you have time to do this while you're at work on the clock? You can't please everybody. You cannot please everybody. And that's kind of like just what I realized is that no matter what you do, it doesn't matter what people say as long as you're not stepping on someone else's foot. And all you do is...
Be authentic as a person and you're doing your best to help others and just put out something good out there because this world is just too fucking dark already. Oh, man. And honestly, like if you know those things to yourself, there should not be any hate comments that should affect you. And I'm not going to be fucking stupid and lie to you guys that some hate comments...
don't affect me it does affect me but i can handle it now instead of me overreacting or reacting to it in a way because also talking about content creators some of you oh when you guys get head comments the first thing you do is film yourself for five fucking minutes or 10 shots fired it's not you're not supposed to take a minute
Like keep putting fuel on the fucking fire. Stop putting fireworks on the fire. Because what this hater wants is for you to be bothered. And replying to that, thinking that replying will do you any good. You just put yourself out there and you just give these people attention. And there's probably thousands of people who follow you who does not even give a fuck about that hate comment.
Okay But then you did give a fuck That's right So now They all give a fuck I was gonna say Now everyone gives a fuck And now Everyone knows Fucks plus plus Well you know what Tina
The guy was actually like, you have such a hateable face. Because that could have been a blocked. You know what, Tina? Your face is like a tic-tac, okay? Like an orange one. Yeah. And now, instead of getting one hate, you had 20 fucking hates. And now you're buried into the whole fucking state. And now you're fucked. Yeah. Always take a minute. And especially a really scattered, erratic reply is never good. Exactly. Exactly.
And even for me, even though sometimes I think that I have the best comeback. Clapback, yeah. Clapback. I would not directly reply to that comeback. I would be petty and reply in a way that I know would hit the person that will only feel this. Yes, mm-hmm.
I don't know if y'all You did it You know Somebody was clapping back at me In 2024 I very still remember that Because I forgive people But I don't forget We remember Period And I wasn't doing anything I'm just a regular person And someone decided to Create some drama about me And I was so pissed that time My emotions were so high But you know what I told myself I'm not gonna reply to that
But hey, there was Sabrina Carpenter saying like, I'm on SNL and you're not. Because I was really going to something that was giving me money and making me money instead of sitting after my shift talking shit about somebody else's life. Sitting in my basement. And guess what? That means I was on SNL and you're not.
The most important thing I think in social media is the people who actually knows you. That could be your husband. That could be the people that you're friends with in social media who knows you deeper than social media. Those are the people that you should only care about. Shout out Kara Sarah Sidney. I see you. Hey, girlies. She talks a lot about you guys. Positive. Because you meet people and you're like, wow, like you're such a genuine human being.
Exactly. And it's not about social media. Exactly. It's about people and relationships. What I like about social media is I also get to travel for this kind of work. You're traveling like crazy. Yeah. Let's say like I have a show in Milwaukee. So if you're in Milwaukee, if you're close to Milwaukee, next week I have a show in Milwaukee. Mm-hmm.
And I invited a few friends Who's gonna come out And they're all content creators That's great And I just reach out to them Yeah And it's a bunch of Male nurse Nurses No Yes I'll tell you later I can Can I say it now Yes you know what It's fine Nurse Tank Is gonna be there Nurse Mikael Nurse Austin And
And Nurse Logan. Oh, that'll be fun. I'll show you. But like all these four are just like fun guys. And I was like, hey, guys, come out to my show. That's great. And let's have some fun. Yeah. There's another thing that we were talking about earlier about genuine people. But at the same time, like experiences in nursing. Because anyways, we're just...
there's always has to be drama anyways um we're talking about like we love drama we're talking about experiences in nursing and how like a lot of experiences in nursing at least 95 of them we all experience it that's why that's why you have followers that's why i have followers because those followers are people who relate to the same exact shit that you just went through which means that
Your experience is not unique. You're not special. You're special. Yeah.
You're not that special. Canceled. You're canceled. You're not that special. That's the truth. Woke plus plus. Woke plus plus. But like content and social media, it's so funny because like the same people that we thought is going to support us are sometimes the same people who's going to try to bring you down. They're having people out there who's like, oh my God, like why...
you copy my content that was my content that's my unique experience I was like you're talking about Mr. Smith going through the ceiling I can assure you right now there's at least one million nurses in the whole wide world who
Who's had Mr. Smith. Yes. And there's likely multiple reels made of a Mr. Smith that has already gone through a ceiling. So that is not a unique. And let me say this. I don't claim Mr. Smith as mine. I don't claim Nurse Pam as me. I don't claim any of my content as me.
But I claim them as my experiences. And that's totally fine. But I'm not going to be out there telling people like, hey, you cannot have a patient who shit on you on...
If someone shit on your hand, you're going to go to jail because you're copying my content. That only happened to me. Clocked. I'm only shit on. Just me. Yeah. There are some people out there, though, that will take it like frame for frame, word for word, sound for sound. And you're like, whoop, hang still. That's insane. That one's insane. Okay. That's a little too much. Yeah. Yeah. But again. Yeah. As long as you're going to put your own spin on it, it's yours. That's totally fine. And like, again, like I even tell my friends like in social media and everything.
Everyone else, if you're listening to this right now and you're aspiring to be a social media content creator and you're doing well and stuff like that, listen, if you need to take my content, take it. You heard it here first. You heard it here first. You heard it here first. I genuinely do not give a damn. If it's going to make you...
A thousand dollar. If it's going to get you a brand deal, if it's going to give you a hundred thousand follower, if it's going to make you famous. Take it. Take it. Yeah. I'm happy for you.
Because honestly, we're all just trying to survive. We're all trying to have our time. Our wins. Yeah. It's almost like we're trying to have our time where people can get a little bit of a view inside our own brains. Exactly. And sort of be like, oh, that's cool. I feel like it's flattery too. Like, oh my God. Yes. You know, they did this thing with like...
Mr. Smith. I was like, period. Go, girl. Also, now that you just told everyone that they can steal your content, tomorrow there's going to be like 8,000 Mr. Smiths falling through ceilings on my feed. I'll just be flipping through. Oh, there goes Mr. Smith. Oh, shit. There goes Mr. Smith. Exactly. Oh, Mr. Smith is falling through the ceiling. Exactly. Yeah. I just really kind of learned in social media that it's really just important that you kind of just mind your business and stay in your business because the more you do that, the more
the more you become successful in the business. Before we end this podcast, what is something that you've learned today
in nursing that you want to tell to our listeners? I think the first thing I want everyone to know and think about if they're a nurse or even if they're a patient is that everyone's experience is unique and everybody comes to that experience in that moment with multiple life events that have happened before that moment. And those life events are going to change how that moment plays out for them. So I think we really have to take into effect that
If somebody is around us and they are having their worst moment, even though it may not be our worst moment, it's still their worst moment. And we need to stay in that moment with them and be there for them and really think about what's brought them to that point. I remember I was just trying to go back because I just saw this news. I don't know if you saw the news of the nurse in Florida.
Who got her face beaten up by a patient. Guys, that just made me goddamn furious about how ungrateful. Some people can be. A lot of you motherfuckers are. I'm sorry. I'm just going to say it. We get fired up when it's our own being treated. She's actually blind. Yeah, I heard that. Yeah, well, I thought that she was going to be blind. And she's not a young nurse. She's put in like a ton of time, right? Man, if I was there and I saw that motherfucker, I would use my fucking license. Yeah.
That's so unfortunate. To do anything to get that motherfucker away from her. Like, oh my God. If you guys have a chance. Just in a moment. Read on it. Trigger warning. It's gruesome. The shit is traumatic. But take my fucking license. But guess what? I am not letting you put your hands on me because you need my help. I don't need your help. Oh, yes. Period. Anyways, I don't want to end this whole shit like sad. So anyways. So anyways. The other. Wow.
The other advice that you want to give to those nurses or nursing students or just starting in nursing or as a nurse wants to start content creation, like as a content creator. You know what? And a lot of people won't agree with this. I would say don't film at work. Like a lot of people love to film at work. And you know what? I love watching people's videos at work. I
I just think that down the line, we're probably going to see a lot of problems come up from people filming in the workplace. Yeah. For content creation and nursing specifically, I would say just like keep it on another, keep your badge off, keep it out of the workplace. You can still do great nursing content and not be at work doing it. And another thing, y'all, please, for the Lord's sake...
Jesus. Please. Like, how do you all make content and say something so fucking out of pocket and decided to yourself while you edit this video? Oh, this is a good content to post. Post. Ooh. Yeah. Yeah.
You just said how shitty your patient is. With like identifiers and yeah. With your badge that says St. Mary's Hospital of Eastern. Yeah. The fuck? Because I'll see videos like that come up where people are directly complaining about a specific patient. It seems like that patient was just, like it seems recent. I don't know. Maybe that's just what the vibe they were going for. But like, can you imagine if you were that patient and...
And that came up on their FYP or that patient's family. And like, they immediately knew that you were talking about them and you're like, Oh, they were so annoying. Or like, yeah, I'm like, how in my head? I'm like, I don't know.
I don't know. Like maybe I would say that, but I wouldn't watch it back and be like, yep, that's, yep, that's a solid one. Yeah. Well, you know what? I think like, that's a lot of yapping. I love that because I think like everyone who's listening right now, whether you're a nurse, aspiring to be a nurse, aspiring to be a content creator, already a nursing content creator, I think they've learned a lot from you. And I think your experience adds value to those people who's listening right now.
