Hello. You are listening to My First Podcast, a magical world of sounds made just for you and your grown-ups to enjoy together. I'm Lucy. How are you today? In My First Podcast, we learn about sounds and the words that go with them. There are so many sounds that we hear every day. Squeaks. Scratches. Rustles. Rumbles.
and rips, tickling in your ear sounds, and crashing far too noisy sounds. Each day is filled with wonderful sounds. And of course, we can make sounds ourselves too. Did you hear that? I'm moving my tongue around my mouth while singing a note, and it sounds like this. Can you make a sound too? Maybe your grown-ups can show you.
It's time for our sound adventure. But before we can go on our adventure, we need our magical bag of sounds. Are you here, bag of sounds? Ah, here it is. This bag is full of exciting sounds for today's adventure. I wonder what's inside? Let's open the bag to take a listen. The sounds are all swirling around. Can you hear them?
Yes, that's a doorbell ringing. Maybe a doorbell will be in our sound adventure today. OK bag, it's time for you to pick our sounds. Let's close the zip and mix them up nicely. Let's jump into our bag of sound and see what wonders can be found. A sizzling pan, a crashing sea. Let's open up in 1, 2...
Three. Hmm, that sounds like something popping. Shall we have another listen? This is something quite yummy. It's the sound of popcorn popping in a pan. Popcorn is a special kind of corn that pops into a fluffy snack. When the corn gets heated, it pops open and turns into soft, white, fluffy pieces of popcorn.
It's a very tasty treat that people often like to eat while watching a film. Now on to sound number two. I wonder which sound will pop out next? Ah, do you know what this is? It's quite a soft sound. That's right. It's the sound of rain. Thank you, Bag of Sounds, for giving us two sounds for today's adventure. Popcorn and rain.
Now we only need one more sound to start our adventure. And this sound will tell us where our adventure takes place. It could be outside or inside. We could be on a boat or at a shop. Where will our sound adventure be? Let's open the bag one more time. It sounds like we're inside. I can hear rain on a window and the sound of cutlery clinking in a drawer.
I know, we are in the kitchen. So for today's adventure, we are in a kitchen with some popcorn and rain. And this is Taylor. Hello there. Taylor is at home with his mum, enjoying a cosy movie day as the rain pours down outside. They're in the kitchen, getting all their snacks ready for their indoor adventure. I wonder when our sounds will pop up.
Listen out for the popcorn and rain. Can you spot them? Then here we go! It's raining outside. The rain taps against the window. Taylor and his mum are in the kitchen to make popcorn. Mum opens the cupboard and takes out a big pan. Mum puts the pan on the stove. She pours some oil into the pan and it sizzles.
Taylor tips the popcorn kernels into the pan. Mum puts the lid on the pan. The kernels pop up against the lid. The popping has stopped. Mum takes the pan off the stove and opens the lid. She pours the popcorn into a bowl. Taylor eats the popcorn. Mmm, tasty! The rain patters away as movie night begins.
Enjoy your movie night, Taylor. Taylor loved making popcorn. The sound of the popping was so exciting. Now, let's listen again and see if you can spot the popcorn and the pitter-patter of rain. Shout out loud when you hear them. That's the rain. That's the popcorn. The popcorn popping away. The rain again.
Did you spot our sounds too? Great job! What an exciting adventure we had. Now it's time for us to put our sounds back in the bag. Bye popcorn, bye rain. There, they're all safely back in the bag, ready for their next adventure. Before we go, let's sing the sound adventure song. Every day, learning new sounds. Listen up.
To hear what we love. Long ones and shorter ones. Beeps and blare ones. Lower ones, taps and chirps. Inside or outside we hear. Love to hear songs big and small. Listen close to what we have. For every sound we have.
Thanks for joining me on our sound journey today.
