Shownotes Transcript

Jolie Jones) is an American actress, producer, singer, and author and a former fashion model best known for her work as one of the first black models to be featured on the covers of magazines in the late 1960’s including Seventeen, and Mademoiselle.

Listen to Dr. Allie Sharma and Bridget Malcolm in conversation with Jolie Jones as as she opens up on the untold story of Emotions, Substances and Sobriety.

Jolie is a trailblazer in the modeling world and she is the daughter of legendary Quincy Jones. Since that time, Jolie has lived many lives and her career spans from the early days of modeling, acting, singing and becoming a mother to now being an artist and a grandmother.

Jolie has decided to come onto this podcast to publicly disclose her lifelong battle with substances and alcohol.  Since she started modeling in her teens, using substances such as speed, prescription pills, and alcohol became a way of life which allowed her to escape from herself. And upon reflection, she hopes that by sharing her story, she can help educate young people on healthier ways to cope with stress and emotions.
