He has urged Biden to sell all federally held Bitcoin to reduce the 2024 budget deficit and dismiss ideas of a "Strategic Bitcoin Reserve." He argued the sale would prevent future plans, including Donald Trump’s proposal to establish a national Bitcoin stockpile. Schiff, a gold advocate, continues to oppose Bitcoin's role in national finance, criticizing ETFs for undermining crypto’s decentralization.
Meanwhile, Michael Saylor took an opposing stance, urging investors to sell gold and buy Bitcoin (BTC). In a recent Yahoo! Finance podcast, he called on treasury secretaries and central bankers to push the US government to sell its gold reserves and acquire 5 million BTC, aiming to control 20-25% of the BTC network and accelerate its development as the global reserve capital network.
