Is there such a thing as an outdated idea? Where do rules and laws originate? Are they always just? Do we ever outlive bad ideas?
This is a serious question which I believe requires serious thought. I also believe there is a movement in human evolution which drives against any rule or law for perceived freedom, liberty and independence which is actually a different form of bondage and slavery. Trading one slave master for another is not freedom.
Have you ever asked “Why was this rule or law created to begin with?” “Who was behind the creation of the rule?” “What purpose did enforcement of the rule serve?”
I know this is a heavy topic which demands much thinking and discussion and 5-8 minutes is simply not enough time. But if we cannot begin this discussion among leaders, who will discuss it? If we don’t apply some time to addressing the rules we live by, one day well have no rules and we will live by anarchy.
