In this podcast, researchers discuss the potential of Fisetin, found in strawberries, as a key ingredient in slowing down aging by targeting cellular senescence. Senescent cells, which stop dividing and release inflammatory signals, contribute to aging-related issues.

The study, published in Biomedicine, suggests Fisetin as a potent senolytic, cleaning up these problematic cells. In vitro experiments showed Fisetin's effectiveness in eliminating senescent cells compared to other flavonoids. Further tests on mice with progeroid syndrome supported these findings. The research aims to find safer and more effective senolytics for combating age-related diseases.

You would need to eat approximately 6.9 pounds of strawberries a day to get the equivalent of 500 mg of fisetin.
