Blaze Bernstein was a 19-year-old pre-med student at the University of Pennsylvania in January 2018. During winter break from college, he was murdered by a former high school classmate. Authorities declared Blaze was the victim of a hate crime, he was both openly gay and Jewish.
Jeanne Pepper Bernstein, Blaze’s mother, discusses his life and legacy. Blaze It Forward, is a campaign to do good things and inspire people to do intentional acts of kindness. The Blaze Bernstein Memorial Fund provides support to organizations that Blaze would have liked to support in addition to charities that work to protect children from violence) and that foster emotional health, such as The Orangewood Foundation.
