So google announced a whole bunch of devices and A I stuff is their classic fall event. It's usually like october, I feel like, but then move that up this year. So we ve got pixel nine.

We ve got pixel nine pro. We ve got pixel nine pro X L. We got pixel 7 pro fold。 We got pixel buds pro two, we got pixel watch three.

And we german, I updates that I miss anything. I think that's everything. That's everything I think was everything yeah I I definitely I .

just .

picks stuff. Saw all the new phones, the new hardware and the new software. Um yeah, where do we start? I feel like the phones.

I have the same general feeling as I had with pixel six, which is dangerous IT is dangerous dangerous because the feeling I had was, oh, wow, these are really nicely built funds, like really nice hard ware, bright screens, flat edges, metal glass, nice finishes, nice colors, good looking displays, good looking. I think the camera bumps look kind of solid. I think they look like very pixel.

And in in a way, they're still unique in a world of weird blogs on the backbones. And and then they have all the software. And I figured this is the complete package. We've finally done IT, but I looked back and that's exactly what I said about pixel six, and that did not turn out as well as they could.

You know, it's crazy about pixel six. I remember IT coming out and feeling like, oh, this is like jewelry. IT looks really nice. And in retrospect, those phones, the weather put together, I I do remember us being like this kind of feels like they just went to chen and picked up a bunch of random part side of a pile through them together, which is true um but the build quality is not great. These definitely feel like they have Better build quality, and I hope that, that actually works out in the future.

Now this all comes with a Price update as well. There are all almost all more expense than last year to the base Price of the hundred twenty eight pixel nine. The entry is seven ninety nine.

And then you get to a nine ninety nine pixel 8 pro， a ten ninety nine pixel 8 pro X， L, which is the bigger one um the bigger one being six point eight inches, the two smaller ones being the same size of six point three and then the pixel 4 fold pixel pixel 8 pro， just the next pixel fold yeah the folding one uh is seventy ninety nine again. And it's also it's pretty significantly updated, like is very different. So the first pixel fold, I kept saying it's the best one to use closed because was a nice small wide aspect rate show.

Super rich al for af r corners. I love that phone and I love using a close. I opened IT occasionally. This new one feels much closer to like the one plus open, which was my favorite.

And I think the best series of choices for shapes for a folding phone is a Normal size, Normal looking, six point three inches on the outside, and then a big square eighteen screen on the inside. So new cameras, new square sides, new updates, tensor four across the board, toll giggs of RAM for the base pixel, sixteen gigs of RAM for the big, for the process. So lot to get interesting stuff here as far as hardware, but it's a pixel so already know it's mostly a soft story. And I had one thought watching the pixel event, I don't know if this sucky guys also as I was .

watching something like just inside the pixel section .

of the pixel event or like this whole of of OK, where 啊， you you compare this like a samsung launch of a new phone or an apple launch of a new phone, this event felt like I was not aimed at the people who buy the phones. IT was aimed at the people who are following the AI wars and shareholders way more because they jumped right until, like google, a leader in A I. We've always been doing A I.

We're taking advantage of our neural networks and where IT capitalizing on what we've already built. And it's like all of this story is great for those people, but if i'm just here to see if I want to buy the new phone or not, IT was really not focused on that at all. Then they got to IT eventually, like half an hour later, and they're liked.

By the way, here is what we're doing with all of the AI we've built. We're packaging IT into these new devices that complete our hardware stack OK 分。 Yeah, you care about the phones. And I told us about the phones.

So we got the new phones. IT was weird to see that they didn't really .

even get to the phones .

till about half an hour through the over hour with google pixel. And I was just mostly german nice stuff at in the in the beginning they had some german nice stuff in the middle, and then they touch out erman again at the sandwiched.

It's a start comparison to the story telling that I always see and others like a one plus event, obviously an apple event or samsung vent, whether like this is the new hardware. And now here's how this new phone is going to be awesome for you. Look how great the camera is is enabled by this tech.

Look how great the screen is. It's neighed by this tech. The battery life is amazing. That's because we put the work in on this. And when I watched the google event was like upside down, I was we put in so much work on this tech, and we're so far ahead on this tech, and we put in the work on this tech, and it's all going to come together in .

a phone yeah, and I didn't really describe what that tech does for you exactly. Now they're like this pixel has forty five tops of computer.

Yeah, they talked about her flaps before. They talked about legs and how many like Operations per second, second s per second. They talk about all of that before. They talked about like how good the phone is at anything.

You know how Normally during a phone launch, there's like the phone and then they talk about the accessories that kind of build into the ecosystem and crop up the phone. This felt like they were launching in OS. IT was like gina O. S. And here's the devices that use jemini, like the phone, headphones and all these other things that, like, plugged into IT elt .

like I O then I did the pics, events, usually this is the stuff we see IT like I O and all that stuff. And then they have launched, like random, one of hardware here and there. And I O this was like yet Normally we're used to seeing here's the phones and as we get in respect of the phones, let's show the as capable they still sort of did but if you take half an hour of just hat, gin and soft stuff before and yeah IT feels a little different. The problem with that is this is not the last someone going to see this. In fact, I bet almost all events going forward are going to be so much more like .

this has made the way boring oh.

I wonder .

about that like, I think this is a reflection of where the pixel are in google's priority list. I still think when you watch a new iphone event or a new one plus phone or new samsung phone, they are still ongoing to have the same style of this. Is this amazing new thing that we built? And then here are all the technologies that enable how good it's going to be for you IT just elt like google doesn't have that same showcase priority.

I think with new theory coming this year, this would be the best time, if ever, for apple to just go trade into like A I focus on the right the bed and get into a phones later in there and still focus on IT like they do really well. But I would be surprised new series, what we see red off the bed.

I mean, google's focus on android has sort of taken a back burner to gami, right? Like I noticed when we were at the event and we were at the hands on event and we were doing the footage and stuff when they booted up one of the phones that shows the google logo.

And then at the end of the google logo IT like spins and turns into the geri logo on the boot screen yeah of phone yeah so they're really like they're restructure their entire company to be based around this one generative AI platform, which is really risky. And yeah, we talked a lot in the past about how I google has a lot to lose. Microsoft does not have a lot to lose. Microsoft didn't gain anything really because still nobody uses being even though they lean extremely hard into that.

You couldn't pay me.

lay me and of and but google, you know, has done the research to say, like, will we lose anything if we appreciate the value, our products? And the answer was no. And that's why they got sued by government.

And so it's just it's it's insane that like I feel like a previous event, IT was like hardware. Look at all the cool stuff that we can do with machine learning and that we can do on android, and look at all the new things that about android. And the parallel to this is the I O event, where they generally talk about the new version of android and all the new features in IT. This I O was just games, just germany the whole time yeah and so they're kind of merging that into the pixel vantine ds like. The lam is saying like gemini is basically pixel OS is gi yeah gi is the O S of everything that google does.

So they focused on gi on what genius new features are and what it's capable of and how they are able to do. And then, by the way, here are the devices that have IT. Now, yeah, these new things.

I still the only thing they lead into, things that german I can actually do that are useful.

Um sounds like we really want to get into software stuff, but you mentioned a lot about the phones. Do you wanted just wrap up quick class thoughts about .

I could jump in the phones. I mean, so there's a couple I have a couple like high vel thoughts and then I have a couple .

Yes, I do that sometimes um but no, I think the phones, like I said at the beginning, I think they look great. And from the two hours that I spent with them, I think they feel great in the hand. They feel very flag.

They feel comfortable to what we see right now from samsung and apple. So it's going to be at least competitive in that way, which is not what we typically have from a google phone. yes. So I was really what .

was i'm trying to remember what everyone's thought when we first saw this league of the bar because he seems like everyone loves IT. Now I like that .

there are some phone designs that look different in the render than they do in person. They just hit different in person verses in an illustration. And this is one of them. IT just feels as rocks out.

I love IT. yeah. IT is interesting .

that with the pixel six, they like introduced the camera bar design. They they worked on that into the pixel seven to make IT feel morcar, he said. And then in the pixel, a IT was even more cohesive for IT was all sort of part of one piece of metal. And then they had the bag and then got rid of IT. And I know that they got .

rid of IT connecting. I'd still say it's still there and it's still like the iconic pixel thing. It's the exact it's the same camera barge. Just update.

It's kind of like because previously was the cameras that created the pill within the bar advisor with you and then the sun went .

I I like IT, so that's the hardware cameras are mainly unchanged as hard as hardware, but we've got a fifty make pixel main and a forty eight big picture ultra across all of them except the fold. So that means the base pixel or the pro pixel at the same main camera, the same ultra camera, the same tensor ship.

So that's great way. What is the fold?

The fold doesn't fit as large sensors in that body, forty eight. So it's different senses or smaller sensors in the fold. Uh, and we'll get to the fold in just a second. But I think across all of the regular like pixel ine and pixel ine pro and pro X, L, they are just exactly what you'd expect from that Price range.

There are bright like twenty seven hundred minutes or three thousand needs there ten D P uh hundred twenty hurts on the base and that's between sixty and one twenty adaptive versus the lt. Po, which goes up to one twenty down to one on the pro phones. They're all leds. They're you write up to the edges with even vessels all the way around just in general like there they make sense for the Price. Yeah.

you're saying that makes sense for the Price, which I agree with. But previously, what i've loved about the pixel so much is that they were cheaper than what they tell. Like this feels like we've just like every other, really about the other Prices online there.

There are some people, and i've watched a bunch of impression video, some people saying this is the biggest. Some people are saying this is like almost no change. Why is one hundred books more? I lean more towards that.

The first group, I think they added a ton of RAM. They have much brighter displays. They had to curve the olet around to get the vessels even all the way across the phone.

They have, I think, hardware worthy of this Price point, even though the chancers not like some huge power up. great. I think in general, the harbour great are worth a change in Price, but there are a lot of people who are like this is like .

not really a different thing. I just think previously, the hardware was comparable with other things that were the Price that is now IT. IT was knocking IT down one hundred, two hundred, which which felt like a great deal. It's a reason at one like a good deal. Now these are so great phones, but now you you're putting IT up against all the other phones at the same Price, and you're actually just going one for one.

You know, what this makes me really interested about is what the pixel nine eight ends like because the pixel A A was almost exactly the phone is the pixel a.

And there was this big question of like why when you just buy the it's on sale by the time and a comes out or the AA comes out and h now you when you have higher quality hardware, there is a bigger potential for there to be a gap in build quality, which could make the Price go down nightly. Also consider the a usually like four fifty or something, five hundred dollars, there will be a much bigger Price difference. However, by the time that a comes out .

in the podcast comes out, the Prices on this might .

be hundred. Yeah, that's all going to be interesting to follow. And then there's a pixel fold, which I think has the most changes versus the last generation, all now signed up, obviously octo september, August, whatever this is.

One usually came out OCR. Um and IT is much thinner. The latter side it's like barely thicker than the U S.

B port for each sides we enclose IT up. It's a little figure than a regular phone. It's the same size outside screen, six point three interest directly.

So it's like I said, it's similar to the one plus open as the pixel, so is picks up, but obviously new aspect ratio, little taller, a little bit more for reversible phone, maybe a little less racal. But then you open that you get this enormous ain screen that's also brighter. You got the corner hole punch cut outs and yeah a couple of of features.

I mean, obviously, it's still going to be the tensor. I guess the word process means sixteen years ARM because it's also a pixel. Pixel nine pro fold could also just mean more expensive IT feels weird .

and pro in there yeah yeah but it's .

got the tensor g four and sixteen around could .

just call the big .

have been confused and big ault or just the fold. Well, okay, I get putting numbers on IT.

The interesting thing .

about the number is that I assumes that they are going to make one every year, which should be cool. But yeah, that's also a prety pretty big engineering task to make four phones year and one of them affordable.

But what if they're iterative from this point forward?

Because I feel like this was a big jump. I agree. I think that last year was sort of the like test phase, and then they got that all the way.

And one thing is always interesting for any device. We got the first generation of the google folding phone, and we had to see what they think of food should be like. And the second generation is where they apply everything they learn from the first time. This, what up with the galaxy.

the pretty bad, like huge jump. And then I was okay. Found expected .

to be more creaative. Now, yeah, but I think the number nine almost signifies flat sides. It's like this is the flat sided pixel fold and IT will be eater from here on out.

which is interesting because IT feels like people like to take the opportunity of having the x version of something, the ten version of something, to make IT like way Better and way different. But they did so much this year that IT feels like ten is going to be .

We should talk about the fold a little more, I think. Um what is about the the camera design is weird double. I don't know why they do that. Uh, they kind of stack IT, so it's a square now instead of just being, I don't know why they didn't just make IT look exactly like the pixel and pay.

I have one theory, but I need to hold the phone again to figure IT out, hold the phone or I don't know, I was thinking, okay, you remember that this doesn't make as much sense, but you remember the microsoft surface, how IT folded all the way back, unfortunately. And I needed to like, slightly slope the camera, the two, so that would like, yeah, matheus ally attached. That comes to mind, but this one doesn't hold all away back. So IT doesn't matter. So David.

I an idea was a couple episodes ago that he was because like just getting too close to the folding mechanism, probably was interpreting some sort of oh he ribbon cables or hangers something in there now but I do think like we're talking about how the first phones, uh, like you know updated the adviser and like this is obviously a pixel. The other thing is just how big of a glow up this pixel is in general. Google told us the biggest interiors play but I think what was in the fine, fine print was like available the united states yeah um that said, the other phones that have bigger interior displays are like eight points three verses eight point zero zero so so it's about as big as you can get pretty much um yeah I I know now i'm super excited about that one and the fact that the same Price as cool, even though it's still in same exit.

I'd wonder if this is the one that's going to get me to use a falling phone daily ah because i've had i've like had since with folding phones is my daily and then I just end up back like I ve used the galaxy z fold for a little and I just end up back on the slab phones. But I think this one, because it's a Normal upgrade on the outside, could get me yeah the other .

kind of strange thing is, uh, the exterior display is like rounded, will also be contained by the middle bar yeah which and IT kind of looks like there is just like a phone inside of a case that is part .

IT looks like the the velvet folding case remember when I added the second screen with the case, IT took a phone looks like it's like slit into a dog right on both sides the back also .

yeah IT looks like two phones that were slit into some phone down that made IT open that way but um yeah I don't know i'm i'm most excited about that.
