Now that that makes sense. Now i'm totally getting you on right now. Yeah, but one of my e los is never happening. I been able to put that interest turbo.
I think that closures nice though IT wasn't.
Luckily i'd never priority IT. So I guess i've not out of money, but i'm out of a dream anyway, that's my my rant. I have slow energy rant, but disappointing.
So to get first, have still coping.
Go sexes.
go six and .
dead dream.

What is good people of the internet? Welcome back to another episode of the way from podcast. I'm back where your host on markets and and day is location on a ick vi. I'm sure have lots of photos of IT that too c gram.
He's honest.
They'll .
take at least four instagram caracoles to the photo was on A K.
He was sick. Yes, then the vacation was good.
but we're glad. Have you back one day, we will have the full crew back on the pad.
Yeah at some point, at some point. But until then, we have a hat here. And whenever you see the hat on way for you know, that means already that means it's a kind of a light but of a scattered week of news, which is just the right formula for headlines in a hat. I don't know why I thought music could play there.
We do need the headlines .
in a hat theme song maybe is I don't remember but I have those .
take IT I I like that um but as you can see you some headlines .
we've got a hat IT happens to be a nova york cat which if you are following the MBA this week will make a lot of sense oh yeah .
and if you're not following the M B A, say then listen to the ck locked on next podcast but you probably won't understand that either.
But ya seventy six fan. Hang in there.
That sounds every Green .
yeah ah you want to go first so, uh.
you do the ones you're back again first time in how we have some of the best tech headlines, rumors and leagues in this hat. I think there's eight different ones today, some fun ones, some hardware.
What do we got first? First one reads with all caps. Adam mad, i'm mad.
Doesn't not put on our .
line is line. What's adan, who wrote the verge?
I just thought I would be funny at all this and there so you guys, we have no idea what I was going to say. And what I am mad about is that I still cannot pair the apple watch with anything but in iphone.
This is true and do this .
will be a thing that I about like, I have my ipad mini. I have an apple watch. I'm not on using iphone. I can, I can use that is just like, okay.
so what was that a that thing where like to get a message on your android was actually running a bunch of like iphone six off of the server.
We haven't done like apple watch 7 on your android .
phones that pings IT back to your android phone。
That would be apples worse nighter.
Apples already ready to take that.
No, that's that's classic apple leverage. Their goal is to make the apple watch so good that you want to switch to the iphone just to use the apple watch. And that's kind of true about some other products they already have in their ecosystem is why we call the world garden.
If you love airports and all the features of the airports, you can't really have all those great features. I mean, that all work is like regular bu telephones, but most of those great features only work if you have an iphone. And so if you see those features, you get the iphone to get them. And then once you have both, that's twice as hard to get out because I don't want to get rid of this nice pair headphones, someone to stick with the iphone instead of just leaving the iphone.
Adam, what would you be OK with? What features would you be OK with losing? Let's say, if I was like, I apple watches, like airports, and I could work on your android phone, but you had to lose some of the features, what would you be OK losing?
And what do you really want? I would assume that i'm automatically gonna lose message. So that's fine.
I no tech notification.
no tech notifications like no messaging period. I be OK with that. I literally want IT just to be a watch, obviously time at the time.
And and that does then why they .
made my .
health metrics .
tracking my work out and things like that equals to apple help. And that is is IT on ipad. I don't think .
that's an ipad. IT is just recently.
I think the latest version there is okay. But can you sink the apple watch to the ipad? IT has to be thanked to a phone first, I believe, and I cannot go to the ipad. So it's like that little like half step off .
is just like so so you would be OK if you could just set up your apple watch on your ipad, let IT locally, store your data and sink IT at night your health metric .
on your ipad yeah I O but .
see that would allow you to not have an iphone, which is not with apple.
That's funny yeah since we're doing the adam mad headline and I just thought of something this morning that I was mad at that was very small, please, does anyone else have anyone? Can we all do one small thing? Where matter? Tech wise, i'm okay.
Why can you write? Click in google ducks to see, copy, paste in different formats of that, but can't click them. You have to use shortcuts. And I know that sounds really stupid because like command c command v is very easy.
But there's one called pace without formatting that I really like, because sometimes if you copy text from, feels like discord does IT a lot, but i'll copy with like a black background and White text. And rather than changing that, I just wanted to in be formatted how my ducks is, but I never remember the shoot for that. It's command shift to v by the way. And if you just try and right click and pace with that formatting, all IT does is bring up a little pop up that as cop in pasting in google dogs. These options are, actions are unavailable using the edit menu, but you can still use short cuts, but then IT only does copy, cut and paste, not paste without .
formatting.
Mine work now .
looking stall a chrome extension for that to work.
that's going to be hard.
And fireplace, well, I think that would work .
in the another thing I mad about has IT firefox and youtube in the last week have just been budding heads, and that is basically impossible to play youtube video on firefox with some update that youtube did. I tweet about an Angelic one hundred and fifty comments of people having the same issue. And that is a known issue.
I don't know what they changed. And firefox is working on IT, but the amount of times that buffers or the video posses, but the audio plays skipping around, is basically impossible. All of that happened in the last week in question. Yeah.
I know you use firefox are, well.
why? why? IT all started when I was a Young more talk. No, just when I was doing I T my us director like used firefox as well. And I was like, I remember using that once and I started using IT and just I don't like change and I just kept using IT. I usually have a chrome window open with like maybe like some other things, so I can like separate windows and such because I don't like separating in the same APP because then I can click the icon s in the bottom to select which windows specifically allein one click yeah but yeah, I know I just still use firefox because .
I I feel like firefox make me like a two percent, one percent market at this point is pretty low. And I feel like the best browsers because of their huge market ture, get all the great futures and support. And I don't think firefox ers can get any Better.
I think firefox get features and support.
It's like pula issues with youtube or issues with sites that don't load properly. Probably won't get priority fixed anytime.
I think firefox is fixing because it's just oh, I wish I dug deeper. But everything I tried to read about this was extremely hard to understand why it's not working.
Um according to this website, stat counter firefox is two point eight two percent.
That's dozens of us. Yeah I I I don't know. I like IT got no, i'm serious because .
I i've switched browsers recently. I moved from I was a safari mac person to chrome and now using arc, which is, I guess, you know, built on a similar engine, but it's got all this chrome extension support, but all these other features that I like, and I just find IT great. So curious.
I firefox is more users than ark, but you're .
saying it's feels like I like .
I like to be different and it's and cool. I don't .
think that .
is yeah .
the first wood's .
people edge to say to .
say I try to think .
of something I D.
I think is a topic but I I like small thing we could just bring .
that up later if one of these yes, I will do anything oh yeah he's got .
something and this is just maybe less specific thing and more just like part of the punishment were all receiving for living in the future um but in two and nineteen maybe like twenty twenty if somewhere around there the equal to my favorite video game ever was announced curb space program to around that same time uh my favorite synthesized our company announced their next synthesia um both of these companies said um we will be releasing our project and um one and a half to wish years yeah IT is almost five years says then my friend chat to you and if you're listening we uh for years now we're like which one's gonna come out first?
We know we want both and um I don't know if you're in the turbo space program community. You now know that turbo space program to borrowed too much code from turbo space program one for them to be able to implement all of the features that they promised when they announced to the game like the curbs spaceship m one architecture IT just isn't capable of making. So um the publisher fired everybody at the studio and shut IT down and is not I don't know if they are refund.
I think they are getting some refunds for priority. Like if you play the game for less than like I don't know how that works. And then um for the synthesizer and i'm not trying to knock the synthesizer company.
Lz x, because they are very small business that makes incredible things large. The owner rocks, but he hasn't updated the production blocked. And you know my priority, I preordered IT IT was announced in early twenty twenty I preordered IT in a november of twenty twenty two.
Markets is sitting here with the two hundred thousand .
dollar roads has been within.
Why did IT take so long?
You're at tesla roaster.
the teller. I think you're porch. I was like you were now .
the roads years yeah people priority and put down a lot of money for the roads .
do now that that makes sense. Now i'm totally getting you on right now. Yeah, but one of my e los is never happening. I been able to put that interest turbo.
I think that closer is nice .
though IT wasn't luckily i'd never priority IT. So I guess i've not out of money, but i'm out of a dream anyway, that's my my rant. I slow energy round, but disappointing.
So get first, had still coping and go sexes.
go sexes.
Another dead dream.
我 Brandon .
ingram can still save us。
I'm going to hold up a hat. Just remember.
you have to think of something you think I am thinking.
I'm IT next to me to remind me. Think like something to hate.
I got Alice. really. Is that the land?
Did you just do IT? How did you guys get those were supposed to come up random episode.
You one, two year was that you ran .
that I was tried to think of a second one, but feel feel really chilly. I don't know. Everything is pretty good other than this video.
M, O, so this happened already.
O, O, i'm replace reselected drafting OK.
I I O S, I content upgraded. The should have a question mark on IT because it's a little DIY on how upgraded this OK. You see this? yeah.
Fundamentally what happened is I O S eighteen got announced. You guys also saw that. And then we saw there is a future.
We content all the icons on your home through in the same color to kind of matching, matching. And like if a wallpaper that kind of looks good with IT and that's that your customization happen. And then people started playing with IT after the keynote.
And many of the tinted icons look horrible. They had legibility issues. They had like weird color tends that didn't look right, or they would like blends together, just look horrible.
I think the issue is, is that like when everything they showed where I comes that are super simple, like I message, is just two colors in a bubble, right? But then you get things like maps, which has a bunch of different colors, a bunch of different lines, but something that still needs to be legible. And when you pick a color like Green, IT just kind of makes IT a bunch of different shades of Green and most ims lighter and the contrast is like very hard to tell the difference between them.
Yeah so I was beta two. I was eighteen. Beta two just came out and people are testing IT, and now we're seeing screen shots of some updates to some of these apps that looked horrible before.
Little Better contrast, little Better looking with the same. Yeah upgrade. sure.
Does that look good? Now at this point, I don't think I can say that. Yeah.
I think that looks Better, and I think it's on the right direction.
I think my hard take is the only acceptable tent is just monogram, meaning black and White.
I like some of the tent colors.
Have you seen a good looking ten colors? I haven't seen a good looking for color.
I loved the tennis table, one that they shot on stage ten they shot on stage. That was all really good ones. But I was, I think craig showed the office like his dog with a bunch of tennis balls. And then all the icon es were like, that tennis ball highest yellow color but I think I really just like crazy colors like that um .
this is not what decorating is decorating. It's just like even even in this room, okay, where we have an unbelievably limited color pallet in this room of right there are still five colors, there's White, black, three grades and red, which I think is six. I have you want more .
colors is what you're saying.
This is dumb. I think these are just.
I think you should be able to do whatever you want.
your home screen. I think you should be able to color everyone. You should make the battery, whatever text, whatever color you want. This is like the worst thing that could have given us to customize our phones.
IT really is weird. Like I on a lot of android phones, you can change everything about your home screen, and that is your home screen. You know, the icon to the top of the phone, you can change which ones show up when you can choose.
If you're battery is a circle or a bar or a bar with the text in IT or the text next to IT, you can change where the time goes. You can change if IT shows five g and the V O L T E text or just 5g bars like you can change everything。 And then on the iphone it's like, right, you can turn them all one color if you really want to O.
K. So let's get the record show here. The lesson we talked about this, some people were like upset that we were mad about customers.
We're not matter about customers ation. We're about how little customization they give in the giving customers ation like full customized. Yes.
if you lived in a house that had no kitchen, and you begged your landlord for a kitchen for years, for years, and he gave you entire new houses to live in, but none of them had a kitchen, and then one day's like, hey, I bought t you an easy bake oven.
you've pissed as well. Are you talking about how it's just like colors, but they're all is just one color in different ones? Yeah you both miss this last week, but uh, David had this like blue surface pro and he was like, android matches your hat and they are just the most opposite colors of blue ever. And all IT was was just that there are blue. And there are so many comments that are just like this is the opinion of like men thinking colors match just like they are both blue.
I've seen, I think my ratio of good home screams i've seen to bad home screens with I S eighteen is like five to one, bad to one.
But it's because you want to make your home screen look Better and you don't feel like you're getting the adequate tools to making your homework reen.
I think I can make good looking home screen, but I can make an extremely limited number of good looking home screens. We're on android. I can make a wide variety of good looking home screen.
Way David put because were texting after the pisos two weeks ago about this and he was just saying that apple just implemented IT poorly and he thinks people don't realize how poorly they.
I think, were excited that it's customization. But we would be way more excited if he was Better implemented customisable.
I think if you work at apple there, the bounds that are trying to strike is IT has to also be easy to use. And if you ask a regular person who's not really into customization to do what we've been doing for years on android phones, they wouldn't really enjoy IT or figure that out quickly or even want to do that. So apples giving people extremely easy to use tools.
It's like two button presses on a slide or away and you just slide to the color you like. That's good. U I, that's good design is just this is supposed to customer ation here.
So it's like a very hard design chAllenges to give people the ability to go nuts without giving them all the tools to completely break and ruin everything or get lashing confused. So it's hard it's a hard you action thing to this. Okay, on the bright.
I think people are going to love IT .
ah they're gonna play with IT a lot. And then a week later, forget IT exists.
You like your hephzy ad phones, you grab your arms. Iphone, unlike three months and it'll ll still be that purple that he did.
That one does IT to update when you change the um I guess we've no one has had IT for that long because he is still just the beta. But like if you change if you set IT to a color of what your background is and you change your background is the auto update or when here on collar and t change IT to Green to match this like landscape background, but then change that background to a picture of their.
and I went to die on hill, my opinions. But I also recognize that i'm clearly wrong about this, like the amount of pain people put themselves through with the shortcuts to customize their icons and clearly still felt like I was worth IT like clearly this matters to people so i'm not going to be like your dumb if you like this because again.
clearly i'm in the minority here.
But yeah, I do not think this is a cool in the cloud yeah and embracing IT .
yeah yeah exact i'm not.
And so I don't here's .
one last thing I think about how many what fraction of iphone uses. Do you think we're using the theory shortcut hack to com I versus what fraction of iphone users will change the color on their homework? Reen, now that is easy.
You say more people are going to change the color.
Yeah, a thousand. I think there is. There is a tiny fraction, a percent of people who were like, I need to change the icon from my weather APP to match my perfect set up, and would be willing to do this stupid series, shark cuts act, to do IT.
And they heard that, and they were like, right? Customer ation seems to be something that some people want. And then they gave people this.
and a few people can use IT in five years. Maybe you to be fully customizable.
I doubt IT export.
I did IT put attack on the I O S. Eighteen beta two for select Carriers. R, C S is officially enabled, and there are some people using my message and sending R, C, S messages.
And i'm supposed to be happy about that. So I mean.
i'll be happy about IT when just like IT makes IT, it's easier for when somebody that I phone s me o think I M the because that nice. Maybe i'll see a Better quality.
I think I said somebody had like Green levels, but a typing indicators working like a nice something Better I thought .
honestly think you'll be Better for uses, the users and of course, people on iphone won't know the difference.
yeah. And then I get twelve by twelve P N, G of a generated all.
if I can actually tell what the video my like. And very cool. Next .
line you pick I, you just put, okay, new headline and .
hat one more than a break. okay? oh.
This one reads surface duo three question mark.
嗯, OK see this.
So I did see this a little refresher. If you don't know surface, do o to sequence the service, do a one the first surface do. IT was one of most iconic .
phones of our generation .
and by iconic I mean um unique in a way this is going to be our most engaged podcast .
where I think uh the surface too was .
a smart A I can't say smart phone, right? Didn't call the one they said IT was a device that was a microsoft device that had two screens. And I was very thin and beautiful and worked .
very poorly 来到 这。
That's what they said. That's what IT was. And the the one secret they got to surface to, which had some improvements that had a slightly Better camera. They made some changes to the hardware little bit curve inside screen, but didn't really change all that much. And it's flopped and it's dead and it's gone.
And now there's an article showing that there were some filed patents by microsoft that show a design for a folding phone that could have potentially been the duo three if whatever came out. And IT looks similar again, there's a full size rectangle on the back for a larger camera. There is like a little magnetic x stand sex.
I think it's propose to be a folding screen this time is what the article seem to portray to its IT. IT is much different. IT looked like a conformed to the folding .
phone that .
is not .
do o the is .
also really funny. That is the duo three.
that's the has one screen .
I want perfect. Three.
I think screen on the front though. Now.
wh.
we have start all folding phone .
to do what we have strayed so far from the light of god. And by the light of god, I mean the raining purpose of the I wanted.
Now double check that because i'm pretty sure he said folding screen this he says .
the cover screen and the inside fault able screen were edged to edge so that at least in this patent, this isn't necessarily every going to be A A product. Just a really exactly speculate, baby. I mean, there look, people had all kinds of feelings about the service doo.
I think inherently, IT was flawed for a couple of reasons. One probably being the aspect gracious of the screens and the sizes of IT in general. One probably being that IT was an android device and that had its own, instead of chAllenges with making a two screen android device with like blending and vessels and pixel and all of those chAllenges. Um one being how much to retail .
for service ninety nine to start.
So that being another chAllenge and then another just being IT was bugging in and didn't work very well and some people did make IT work. I did see, believe me, I saw the comments he made IT work for their lives. And they're like, guess the surface do is exactly when I need in my workflow, I prop IT up.
I use the sides screen thing. I flip IT over. I use IT on single screen.
Who cares that the vessels are huge? Aspect ration is incredibly weird. I love this thing. That group of people did exist, and i'm sure they would have loved to to have seen .
a service two or three. Well, I would argue, based on how IT seems like they conform to the regular, uh, like folding screen form factors. Those people I wouldn't love this because the things they liked were the three sixty hinge so they could prop IT up in different ways, the two separate screens being able to so IT looks like by this from the part image is we have a completely folding phone that opens up to flat.
But as far as I can sell, does not go pass on your native degrees. IT has a screen on the front with the whole punch cut out. IT has triple camera and the back kind of in the shape of a playboy and like the iphone but also with a huge camera bump like the me eleven ultra which everyone loved.
Um and then IT has this, I cannot tell if this is on magnet or rails, but IT has this almost credit card shaped bump on the back that looks like pops out to be a kickstand. But then when IT opens up to fall, IT slides over on a set of rails and then kicks dds out. So you have the that is me. It's kind of cool. I think that's really cool with a pattern IT is worth .
pattern so so would have been like a thinner galaxy z fold with a cool sliding book plate excess yeah .
this would be really sex like setting up at your desk as similar to like apples um what's the landscape mode thing by standby mode? Like if this had a standby mode on my desk in this configuration ation with my calendar stuff on IT and was connected to windows .
somehow and this .
I get you there are not getting .
in the product every time. As service duo thing gets announced, we all go and I will .
never held accountable. Um but yeah, I don't know. It's interesting. I would have loved I wish I wish as a prototype here, I want to see what this thing on the back is. IT looks like it's on a rail system, right? Yes, does.
which I think is fine. That's cool. He means you never lose IT.
yeah. Can you put a case on this another if it's like primarily attach.
you need needs some crazy. The spokeswoman.
what mr. Microsoft make because they made them for the deal?
Yeah, honestly does not like that crazy. I'd kind of be and do IT yeah.
it's way more Normal. You don't but .
to pat now, so story looks like they .
still in the first image of the article, they still have a lot of these magnets that make you look like a closes which was super satisfying on the surface duo um IT looks very thin and the flat edge, which was like the best part about the services to o um but the no three sixty hinch feels so much like they straight away from what the original thing was which was probably the road they needed to stake because that wasn't working very well yeah .
shouted to the hinch designers of the original surface to us that was a good one. Uh, but we should take a break. We ve got a couple more headlines to go through and talk about and also I still to find what I need to be mad at. So i'm going to think about that too, call. But of course, before we take that break, let's do some trivia.
I forgot this is yeah so in case you missed the bonus episode earlier this week, it's happening. We had James Carter, the host of pod quiz, who just wrapped up his one thousand episode on. I interviewed him. He was great. And since he is the trivia master, he was kid enough to create two tech trivia questions to play on our Normal episode week. Not only that sins David is missing and l is r trivia master else will be answering for David this week um uh because one thing that James said in the interview was, as someone who loves to create trivia questions, he finds themselves not very good at answering review questions that an actual tribe think so where some I gonna else to that test as well um and David, if you get no points, you have else to blame.
perfect. I love that.
Do my points. Go to David.
Yeah.
you're David.
So you and I want .
numbers on the board.
Maybe we will also give you numbers .
on the well match. I will match, I will match whatever points that you earn for David .
for yourself are right. First question either.
I'm James from the pod quiz podcast and i've got a couple of questions for you. Um these are technology questions, but they also have an historical elements to them.
no.
So the first one question one, in nineteen forty seven, no part of computer scientists layed to have discovered the first computer bug when they removed a creature from a rely in the half at mark two computer. But IT caused IT to five. I know the answer. What kind of creature was IT?
How you guys don't know?
I don't.
It's funny. Because when I heard this, I knew Alice would know the end.
I'm sure I was.
I think this might be along the same lines of White dead mouse. I exactly .
what I was thinking about. But cool does a great question. Yeah, if you, if you haven't heard the bone subsoil, go back and listen to IT, I thought was pretty swell.
But do you feel like you in the .
car right now a little bit? I'm so happy that his voice .
is on our process prety fun and just be a time like you could be.

We've got a headline. Sorry, we've got a head. I'm going to keep you going. And we ve got a had we've got a headlines in IT. I've got headlines in that i'm going to do, no, no, I was going to let just fix the headline next.
C, M, F, new week is the .
tea teaser.
Yeah, I am. So you calling the leagues and I forget that C, M, F, just straight up the ones teasing this with um last week you missed. So I like to get your thoughts on that first but seem of teased a nob some sort of rotary dial on their phone. Yeah thoughts on that.
Um this could go one of three ways. okay. So i'm looking at this leak, this, this, this tea render. This is the the dial, the C M F phone with a little flat head score driver going in an unscrew. Something from the back of new one.
Yeah, yeah.
This one. C M. F. Being like the ultra budget brand from nothing. This key, the one be a throw back feature where you can actually open up the back of the phone, and there is a flat heads screw that holds the back in place, and you open IT up, and then everyone goes nuts because we went back in time. Holly smokes, replace with batteries. Two are this unscrews and does very little to, like, actually get into the back of the phone and you can actually do anything that you can like.
look in the .
inside or something OK. Or three, the crew comes out and nothing happens and it's purely decorative screw.
I hate to admit that I would still like that. I want the replaceable battery that would be the best.
Yes, I think you would be cool if as a budget thing, they were like, okay, maybe battery lives not that great, but you can add on batteries and just have replaced batteries that's one way to be like, okay, we're sacrificing battery life on this but later on down the line you can buy a new battery and have a back up on um I want to first of say what so did you see the the dial or the nab league from like a week ago? H let's bring that up. I want to see what you think about that.
okay. So this is the league last week that David and I talked about. This is the like we will not die, what everyone to call IT on the corner corner. We don't know which corner to take a guess on which corner you think that is.
Kay, top left. But I think .
that's what I was leaning towards. okay? IT says .
introducing C, M, F, phone once going to make a phone wonderful by design, leveraging nothing's innovation and particular attention to design is a wonderful entry point into the entire particle system. And this picture of a dial, I feel like IT could be well as my ideas of that. I could be like a volume dial, but it's customizable.
To do other things on certain apps would be awesome. I don't think that does anything do crazy like open the phone. No, no.
What are you your thoughts of IT? So I was wondering putting something like this on something that's already going to be pretty budget. It's it's string seeing sacrifices of things, but also adding something that's never been done to a phone or we gna see bigger sacrifices on things or yeah.
I don't know how expensive this particular thing is. I feel like we're going to see this and it's going to be a kind of a cool thing. And they were going to want a more premium version of IT, and that gives them makes you to sell a higher and or more expensive version on nothing phone.
Maybe someday in the future, who knows? Uh, but I I also think we cannot always ask for trying something new and smart phones. And we've seen so many phones that are the same that look the same. And I think this being a little different and maybe actually functional is pretty cool.
I do too. I think this and the screw, even if, like you said, the screw is almost nothing, even if IT just means i'm gonna git around with my phone now, my desk, i'm so excited for IT.
You can also be a like a mounting point, like a camera two, because you take IT out these threads in there. Now, true, but I that's what I assume .
that was a if it's just like a lane red ring or something like that, exactly the pig cone there. I my main take away from this. Also, the first tweet said community update on july eighth. And now this latest tweet as coming july eight, I still don't know if it's going to be like launched on that day. If we're just going to get the announcement for community update, seems more like a post versus like an event, right?
Yeah, they seem like a unveiling type of company. Yeah, we're going unveiled on this day.
Well, so I want to say these teases ers, I think C M F teases things way Better than nothing does. C M F is like, beautiful, render interesting aspect of a phone. Look at up, uh, at IT up close working and then nothing is like, here's a bug and that here is a high rise lady bug yeah like that's fair. I think C, M, F is doing is doing nothing's job Better than nothing.
Is also confusing that they all the i've reviewed one theme of products so far, IT was just the watch. The watch was six, nine box. Is that what I was? I think I think so IT.
I mean, at this Price, like ultra budget IT really doesn't have a ton of margin, like literal margin to experiment with new hardware stuff. So I wonder if you make a phone, number one, what Price point do you actually aim for? Like nothing. Phone was only for four bugs. So to really differentiate as A C M F phone how cheap is are going to be in the number two, what can you actually do in a phone that sheep that hasn't been done on every other hundred fifty thousand.
or phone or whatever not been crew.
and maybe say, yeah.
we'll see. What do you think if you place I, if IT has to be the budget version of nothing, I think I can be higher .
than two fifty. I'm going to go with my a, my best portion of the future is always from the past. So if the nothing, if the C M.
F. Watch was seventy books, and then then nothing, there's no nothing watched. But like a base, nothing.
Smart watch is one hundred fifty, let's say, so half the Price. So this gotta like a hundred seventy five dollars. Yeah, yeah.
Do you think they do the like? Every, I feel like almost every phone we ve seen that cheap is cheap for an exclusive amount of time, so they can call that cheap and then goes up to like, two, two, twenty. I could see C, M, F.
Doing something like that. I could see that as well because there's nothing with a mask gone.
Can I have like two minutes to redeem the Alice? And we skipped .
earlier? yes.
And I and I go to some some keeping time. You get all right, sweet dude, we don't need these many knobs. K, there's just, we just, we just don't need them.
okay. And here, here is why, okay, there are essentially like three kinds of nose. Well, there's a few different kinds. But the big difference is, is a nob can be endless, meaning you can spin IT all the way, or IT can be fixed. I can have a beginning and an end point, the beginning in the end point.
Nobs, which companies never use because their cowards and are too busy to program healthy, take over modes into their firm, where which companies done for a while now, the codes out there just, I want to do IT. Those knobs are great for controlling different parameters, you know. I mean, because you know I nob is at a position, you know the value of that thing.
The endless knobs can also work really well when they're stepped, when you feel a click and you know each increment because as soon as it's not clicked and its endless and you can scroll forever, there's no attachment between your brain and the parameter, your controlling, just moving IT up and out. And for everyone in the office, for everyone in the office, he's like, I got an obama keyboard that I used to control the volume. Yes, what you use a mac, there's sixteen volume steps even if you're not feeling the nob click that's a stepped endless encoder.
Yeah, get out of my face. So build, make your encoder stepped. Don't shut up.
If you want a physical parameter control, put a fator on your device. We've known for years gators are superior to nos. Yeah, they take up a little bit more space.
Shut up. And final point, if you are like, I need a non stepped rotters y encoder. It's called a jog wheel. We established this like twenty .
years ago that that .
jog wheels are the superior and less rotary encoder is why all video editors have one on that. This is just stop IT .
with the knob. Would in a nab with a set amount of volume phone be the same stepping as a macbook?
It's complicated because the mac makes IT really clear as you go up like you can see each each of the .
sixteen steps of my volume slighter went .
up and down as if you're not getting any feedback and the phone is trying convince you that I was faking like potentiometer status and smoothly grading the amp up with an actual resist, you would just get lost in the sauce. You I think, you know, maybe like some of the old, like walkman and C, D. Players had no, but they weren't endless.
They weren't endless. Yep, yeah, they had stopped. Stop IT with the nose.
I have to. I stop.
They break the end, less endless digital. none. Step of the first thing to break on every electronic ever. Just stop IT. So I have .
two other categories of nodes that i'm thinking of, as you say this, and I think I agree with with both of them in principle. So the first one in my car, there is A A step but finite nob for volume. And it's it's hard on one side and hard on the other side.
And there is a little dot and you can only go up or down and it's not ched and stepped and it's great. Sounds crisp. I don't know if that's less likely to break or not. I don't .
remember. I I guess we'll .
find out I doesn't matter. It's enjoyable enjoying. But the other one I feel very strongly about, which is lenses, oh, lenses.
If you use the photo lens before, they have infinitely scrolling, like, like, what's IT called? What is that? What is that called? I'm forgetting the name, the ring. They have infinitely scrolling focus rings. But internally there are mechanisms that stop so you can keep scrolling the focus ring.
But internally they stop so you can't actually assign like a follow focus to the ring because you can just keep spitting the ring and would be all out of wax. But high quality sydney lenses are stopped. So you can you can put a focus ring and a follow focus on this ring, and I will actually stop and always be up. So I fully I hard agree, is IT a is a .
good volume if you can keep scrolling ling and the volumes not going up anymore. It's a meanness physical connection to your device.
The physical section .
is emotional. I don't care about what is actually doing.
I want to feel a click boy.
I think you will feel more direct and with each other.
That's what i'm saying. It's the direct ness of IT when when you feel the harsh stop the same, the same amount every time.
Yes, if you keep b and nothing is happening, you're not receiving any physical feedback. That is a one way conversation. I want to in your device.
I want to bring something up, but I don't want to send this off. Do IT what is this? A mouse grow in because although the second step of the M X master, none step counting one where i'm just on ready with infinite pages and i'm just like, uh, youtube comments .
and just .
loads all the pages for me. It's anta asic, but I can also I immediately step out of that into the step version.
What i'm Normally using IT with infinite pages, not there isn't a meal.
but IT takes a very long time to get to that.
I would also argue specifically in the case of the M X master three, when you're on the free mode, you can feel the inertia of the fly wheel spinning inside, so there is physical feedback communicating the infinite, that ebit.
the only thing that .
is the .
best thing ever, youtube, come and trying to find something. And I am going to close .
with this ready. I have an arti, a midi controller from fifteen years ago. This thing is old, and it's a budget tech.
I think that was like ninety dollars when I bought IT OK. Everything on that keyboard still works. Every single thing, even the mag, even like the touch strip, something that is IT, all still works.
Every single endless lottery encoder on there has broken. Every single wanted is the only part of that keyboard that is c. There's like thirty of them on the keyboard and they all don't work.
And it's not like the controller for them failed and all of something they don't work. They all are messed up in their own stupid, jittery own wave because it's a stupid, stupid component to put on anything. Well, doesn't everyone think that the not does not even do anything on this is just for the lands.
But what say you did do something? Do you think he will be stopped or infinite? Better be stuff is probably infinite.
IT can be in the rabid.
We just have the rabbit steps. The rabbit is infinite to, yeah, it's going to be finite. No one wants to get paid.
Actually, actually, honestly, I might give the rabbit of pass.
what?
No, I might give the .
rabbit pass specifically on its not IT has the same .
number of violence every time.
I don't know that just feels right.
You just lost all the .
created taken and .
like listening to .
this jump to time could .
right? Pixel event. We have later, gentlemen, at least a date for the next pixel event. And that is let me just make trip ter because I toted IT.
What is the August well, I feel like that's the funny part about IT is so much different than what we're used to that you have to .
I got the end you're invited to an in person to made by google that where will show case the best of google I android and the pixel portfolio devices August thirteenth. Um so now we know when that's coming. Now we know also when samsung act is also happening where we get the new fordable les and probably ring and probably something else. So yeah devices everything .
so much earlier. I slowly samsung used to be end of August. Now it's in july right in the .
pixel used to be october yeah.
the last year was october fourth. It's so much if this is now and that's not just like a step back, this is a step back from a whole. Another release used to be the release after the iphone reality.
the .
iphone rea pixel nine event. All I thought .
was just the one, oh.
four devices. I assume this here's my .
ory start of August is usually when we just see the whole phone already.
They're getting head of them.
They're just like this. Just do the event then you know.
IT done for month. Well, just send IT. Yeah yeah instead of getting league for two straight months before him out, that's a good idea.
Yeah, there were some. We've talked about leagues before. Um I think the biggest kind of change to the pixel nine that we're seeing is that the camera bum on the back isn't rolling over onto the side.
Rules like I like .
if the renters are correct, I kind of like IT because IT also looks like IT as flat edges as well.
So I like the flat edge part. I thought that because this is what's happening if you just continue extending what's happening here, IT just turns into a regular camera bump, just like every other phone. I thought what made the pixel?
The pixel was the visor. I think they did a good job at keeping the visor vibe, while also rounding the edges of IT to fitting this like pixel rounded edges vibe lately for what that render looks like. I think it's still very pixel and you still pick IT out as a pixel despite having a case on IT.
You're right. I'm just heading fast forward, and I just continue to see IT, you know shrinking into just a regular old camera crab theory. Yep, it's an evolution watching in front of very, as is the first time the steps out of the water.
Okay, it's so got the gills. It's fine, but it's it's going to be a tough couple years now this I think it'll be fine. I think it'll a good looking fun with nice hard side edges and i'll love IT. And then yeah hopefully this suffers .
good to pixel three. Watch piso watch we pixel, watch three. Yes, sorry.
the summing that you are saying, I think I I ve never seen .
anything about IT. What is what's one thing you would like to see .
in the new pixel watch?
Bigger size still round with like very curve digges.
Like still still love the foreign tor. I I think they kept IT one size for a reason, but I would like a larger size available for me. I would like a bigger screen and a bigger battery and bigger everything in a bigger watch.
What if same size, but the screen just extended out to the curve Better?
IT already pretty good is that I feel pretty good. I mean, they do a good job of like blending because the glass is so curr. yes.
So I feels like I can't really get much further out. What if they got around the curve like the image itself? Yeah like the scream. I mean, I be sick, but I would still want a bigger because I want a bigger battery. I think the device .
needs a big Terry. That's right. I want, I like the small size.
I like wearing IT. I didn't feel clunky, like this government watch. I love, but it's gigantic and alter, but the battery was terrible.
Yeah, I want to two day battery life pics. Watch that that be fire today.
Battery should be standard red on all smart watches, like legitimate two day to get take, take hot, take .
right. I'm spin in the hat back towards you still brings charming my rent.
I really don't know. Are you new moderniser? 哦, yeah, I came out this week.
We just got yet announced to others too actually, right? There's a new razor and a razor plus razor plus being the nine ninety nine flagship foldable with a larger outside cover screens like a foreign child cover screen. Now it's .
also hundred and six efforts. L, T, P, O, which is cool that a lot.
I found that when I use the razor I I liked that was a big outside screen. But I am not a person, whoever like stayed on the outside screen, even though I know that that's why it's supposed to be really good. You're supposed be able to just open IT, read a text to swipe over clear few notifications, check that one, read to the first few lives of an email, and then put your phone away. I just, I just open the phone. I think that's me why it's .
just like it's not a phone for you, but that screen. I seems like the reason why people like this phone like this out, they're giving you all .
the right reasons to continue using that more customers. One hundred sixty five votes. L, T, P, O, corner to corner the whole things. I, P, X, A water assistance at school, uh, in a thousand box for the phone cup.
Cool colors. Two, the colors are the sweet. What's cool as Prices didn't change between the two? yeah. And the regular version is now getting the three point six screen that the old plus had because IT used to be a one point five and screen, I think, on the front.
So now if you are getting the cheaper version, you can still have the benefits of the front screen while the plus still gets a couple of smaller grades to the screen, which are also really nice. But these colors yeah, are great. So the cheaper raisers.
the cheaper raisers, now six ninety nine, I think.
is the same as last year. yeah.
And he gets any biggest thing that's cool yeah like .
I was under like in my own personal head and in this whole time that we've been doing football, i've been kind of thinking that one form factor was gona win out. I don't know that's true anymore. Do you think we're just .
always gonna both fun that slip and fold .
a crobble phone?
And is I think the fold is beating the flip right now really .
in what in popularity or just an evolution because I think flips more popular.
That's a really good question. I see more about folding phones, but that's probably because of the like this yeah where we the bubble that we are in. But I you're probably right.
I bet the flip is probably more popular. I think the flip makes more sense to everyday people. But i've seen I still can be family photo C, I play discount for someone who was keeping score on our car the other day. Any of samsung for the interesting, I just don't I see them so much all the time, and i'm surprised they've gotten into hands so quickly.
IT does feel like they they are like, uh, crawling into their own like several different crabs, like they're shrink. They're all basically feeling similar to each other in flips. They're all feeling similar to each other in folds.
Yes, that make sense. So yeah, however, whoever makes the finest, most advanced fold, everyone starts chasing that one. And I feel like the the zi flip is the standard for flips, and they all kind of look more and more like .
each other there to, could I get small, thin enough to where IT starts like this? IT flips out to a regular size Candy bar phone, but then this is not the front screen. And then IT opens up like a book. And now you have to bigger in the screen .
that requires for Green. Again, that's a lot of screens and also be pretty CT. If I did that.
it's definitely in a prototype labs.
L G, definitely has a prototype of .
that somewhere. Tcs go that few times already like so much that I can we make this yeah no, that's it's out there. It's a phone you can buy.
I think you have to be on verse on again because you know it's moto. That's how the role but yeah share to new the new model. We should take one more break. We've got more headline in more hat and we have more trivia to talk about.
okay. Next question from the pod quiz. Got himself, James Carter.
and question too. The ARM processor is in everything these days. I'm sure people got them IT in our phones, in our pockets.
ARM is an chronic. What does IT stand for? And what did IT originally stand for? IT changed in around nineteen ninety.
Oh, you, you are done, bro. This is.
So what did IT stand for?
And what did IT originally stand for? Two, two, two points available.
I won't be getting either.
I think David would have ve got ten.
The first five suspect, he would have gone at least one point.
But now .
that is Alice.
I know what one of them is.
Maybe i'll get one point.
All the two separate points.
Do I have to tell you which one is the old one and which one is the new? And article .
call James, thanks.
Well, will do some thinking.
You guys Better be .
thanking your lucky stars that are not answering in treated questions every week because I be out your .
bowlen what .
you do make them okay? Yeah, i'll .
think about IT.

了 podcasts。 I welcome back to our final stage of headlines in a hat. I said right that time i'm brad, that, okay, here we go. This says galaxy watch all true. Now this is a natural evolution because samsung does what apple does when IT works.
Well that's not what that says.
not what this only but um I am wearing in apple watch ultra and saying what you're saying, we can charge a thousand not not that they don't already do this, but you can charge a thousand dollars for a watch if we just give you a ton more battery in futures. And it's just the same thing as when we already make cool .
great already .
had the pro. There really have thousand years. Yeah, they need they need to just sort of they're so attempted by the ultra thing I get IT. They have an ultra phone already. Why not forty seven?
No, you know IT IT doesn't more sense for them to call the old drivers the pro because that follows the phone naming scheme. Yeah, have you seen the league for this yet for the renders? Well, so first of all, the reason we know that there's it's called galaxy watch ultra and that IT is L T. And as parties of millimeters is samsung accidently posted a support page close about IT saying that I M took IT down very quickly but of course we found IT that we .
would IT um I think about good nine one .
nine one mobile sounded one mobile sounded yeah um but have you seen these renders because these role over twitter the other day but I think you you were out so you may have missed this, but the design of this has got a lot of people .
talking really why he looks fine.
anything that looks fine? Yeah people seem to have very polar ized opinions on this. Do you want to describe .
IT for our it's kind of like a like a squared offal, a squirrel kind of like it's the apple .
watch children. It's a circle with the circle though.
Yes yeah okay, that's sir. It's a good observation. So the screen itself as a circle and as a circular vesle, but then the frame around IT is more of like a squared off circle, probably to just have more room inside for battery and things. Yeah, I am fine with that.
I looks fine to me. Orange, a dial as well, which is very apple apple trip, but also probably be my favorite part of the the apple site is the orange and accent. I've gone back and forth on liking this or disliking this. I I kind of just wish I was the squirrel shape without the circle on the inside.
Yeah, I would have liked more, more screen coverage on the front. But then again, I think all of samsung smart watches are circles. They are I P. So they're just keeping with that.
I like that. Yeah um yeah I don't I don't know. I like IT and I just like IT.
I've also been recently thinking of switching back to the samsung watch. My brother is a need more battery, which maybe this will have. I I feel like I love my garden watch have been using this filling a year and a half.
Now it's I I bought IT because of all the health matrix and everything, and I seem to not care about them as much. But now i've gone to the point where I need the notifications on my wrist and I track the time. So often I hate my phone being on vibrate or ringer, so I need something buzzing me for calendar tasks or text messages. This is really bulky.
Just say tasks, yeah. Oh, i'll just like that slight, but i'm pretty tasks.
Thank you and me. This feels bulky. I think the same song watches is, look at the battery watches the problem.
And i've also thought about doing no watch because this watch ten is getting terrible. Yeah, so I don't know. I think I might try out the new samsung. I comes out because I am using a samsung phone now. I did like my galaxy watch before. I think some of the nicer looking ones, I want to see this in person, not versus a render, and see what that looks like yeah but IT is also just going to be big and bulky like my government and I kind of want something smaller .
yeah I think David was saying he did not like the way this one, and I kind of really do like IT.
yes. Oh yeah. So maybe is not polarizing.
And David just galled me into thinking that IT is super pool.
IT looks like a watch.
IT does I mean, IT seems like it's only slightly bigger in display then the current max size watches you can get from samsung. But the biggest known benefit to more chest sizes is just here's some more room for battery. Yeah it's just if that a just after that is what IT probably will offer. But I guess T V D, because I was just a leak and and dippel red.
well, yeah, this is a render. So this wasn't even part of the league, so IT might not even be working. Yes, IT is slightly bigger. The gali watch pro is forty five mile ters. So that will be a touch bigger.
And I assume the forty seven is the screen size, not the square al size, right? Yeah, I just I think I I get why it's a little weird. That is a circle inside of a squirl. But IT is, like you said, all we always say, hey, can our phone should be a little bit taker so we can have some Better, Better life. So if that means this has over two days of battery life, which I still think is the minimum that I want, i'll be really happy about IT.
You'll get one and a half and you'll .
be thankful I will and I will always. So yeah, we'll see that very soon, right?
If IT comes out, out on impact, then if IT doesn't, then maybe sometime later this year will see they could be an impact.
I hope, is the Angela.
what do you return to pick a headline and have a had their head .
one in IT? Alright, this isn't a headline. This is just the ironic six. And we have at the office all the five.
Then is the five. Yeah, I like five. Yes, you're right.
Sorry, oh, man, we have the five. It's kind of sick. But it's not like, how do I describe .
IT to .
us yesterday? okay. I A if the ionic five then so i've talked about the ionic five. We've made a video about IT the ionic five and is their sportier uh, version, maybe even attract version of the ionic five makes some sacrifices.
IT also straight, pretends to be a gas car like, and I don't know if he realized how far IT goes to try to pretend to be gas car, but IT is one of the most fun and funny car experiences ever. Because when you think about IT, okay, what are the advantages of an electric power train? Over a gas power train? Typically it's one gear, maybe two girls.
So you have this relentless poll of instant talk and then just pulling you forward. That's what all the most powerful, fastest, quickest electric cars have done. Bionic five n has a mode that emulates a gas car, a gas power train, a seven speed gearbox, and literally has paddle shifter and an engine sound, so you can pull through gears. And IT acts like a gas car through all of the gears, meaning its slower at lower rpms IT builds talk at higher rpm, you can red line IT which means you miss your shift and IT will slow down and you feel .
the shifts as a driving IT kicks you you you feel like yeah.
And IT IT inserts all of this with the control of the electric motor. So yes, IT is slower than IT could be if I just drove like IT Normally could just flat out. But it's the engagement, is the feel, is the sounds. And boyer, this sounds.
there are some serious sounds, you know, this reminds, we have my friend's dad, when we were kids, used to pull up to like nice looking cars at stop lites with like a dodge caravan, an full of kids. And he used to read the engine, and then he used to fake shift and like make noises with his mouse. Oh my. And this sounds like the EV version of basically .
do that IT .
IT has a speaker .
inside the cabin that is specifically over your shoulder so that that sounds like it's coming from where the exhaust would be coming from. And there's also a speaker outside of the cabin that you can turn on or off so that when you're driving, when you're bang through gears, you actually have people outside, you hear what you're hearing.
I really appreciate, really appreciate that you can turn IT on inside the cabin and off outside the cabin so you can you can do, I think you should have to make the commitment of if you are listening to the inside.
you have to pretend to play IT outside. It's funny. There are so many cars that like pump more sound into the cabin so that you can hear them like the I A. Been to be.
It's kind of like a quiet car, but they pump ed so much sound into the cabin that you would think your car super loud because you want to hear IT, but it's not that loud. This is kind of the opposite. It's like, yeah, I want people to hear more than they actually have to.
That's just blast everything. yeah. Uh, there are three modes. There are three modes. The first one sounds, I think the most like a Normal car. It's got to slow grumble.
I I believe me too.
I think the first one, the top.
the with the grumble you talk about this one.
Yeah.
I pretty sure that number two, I could be rocked about that.
Well.
let me hear the first one. The first one sounds like this. Ah, okay. Now the first one is the one that has the shifts that sounds like this.
okay. okay. Yeah the other one with the grumble sound sounds that sounds the most like a regular car. Ah it's actually I think they were telling me it's based on the a launcher. M actually I think the behavior is based on the launcher and not the sound, the behavior the way IT pulls through, uh, like a seven thousand seven hundred fifty rpm red line. And as I think as either or seven or eight big gearbox, i'm not going to get IT all this right of thought my head, but IT behaves like the a launch .
m ah which is kind of hero is an elector card.
How IT sounds on the acceleration .
when the car shift you feel IT? It's like not and and I don't know if it's actual like haptics or if they are just using the speakers in the car. But when you switch into that mode and you begin to hear the low engine travel, you feel the car via your .
a simulated actually goes down. Yeah.
it's fully electric and IT fully commit to that sound. The other two sounds, however, I don't really sound like a Normal gas car already to hear them.
Kinds weird that's. I I think you could get used to them, but they sound more like a video game.
Listen to this one like a video.
miles said at best, the in mode one, the sound of the gear shifting is the same sound you get if you hit a cyber truck with a slight hammer.
Just slammed through goods like like giant robots are attacking .
that's so aggressive.
so funny.
I think that one could fool me if he has little bubble.
You let off yeah, this one.
Also, like everyone, is the shaking, clearly the shock mount, our final mike is not good enough. But rock's launches.
I would love to know in the comments, for those of you who have made this far, who is this car for? Who is the ironic five n an electric car fully master ating. As a gas car, what is the customer that goes? I love bagging through gears, hearing the sounds, feeling the forces and taking my car to a track.
But it's got to be electric. Or is that I want an electric car, but I want to take you to the track. And also I want to feel all these things, so why do you want to? I I don't know who the person is.
I feel like taking IT to a track is the place you get made of the most for doing, having fake out, coming out, but also would make a really funny video of just like showing up to track IT with the car. Looks, by the way.
awesome. IT looks fantastic. I love IT. It's got a good size back seat.
It's kind of like a fast hatch type of size. It's also a very similar to the E V S G T. It's it's like two hundred miles arrange tops. Yeah not the most practical car in the world, but IT is a fun car.
IT looks it's really, really fun. I will see you should be able to um import in sound packs so you can replicate like A W R X or 叫 way。 There's no way hunt is gonna let you do that, but maybe someone will find a way you are bringing like force the sounds and replicate some different different kinds of cars.
That would be really good. It's like here, the impression person now, do you know like the guy that, like breezed into the can and does all the different cars different? Yeah, your car could do that.
That would. Or you could do that. Guys sound. What if you could use that guys sounds in the cans as you can. I drive.
You just hear that his voice drives on the street. That would also be crazy. I can't love that idea. I know they would never do IT because when they doesn't have enough cars that sound like that, they wouldn't do another car. But that I love that idea. Wow, okay, that was a the second is that my I think there's one left poll poll final headline in a hat.
Says rival. And what we're referring to is a vox wagon group investing five billion dollars in rival, which honestly isn't much news. But IT is good news if you're a ribbon fan because that means they get injection capital. If you're riviere stockholder, that means there more likely to be around longer if you have .
an arch reservation, if you feel more confident that I will gets at that point.
great point. Are three, is that much more likely to eventually come around? All good news. Um yeah I do think it's a little interesting .
because we always talk about who who will win this race of software companies making a great vehicle or legacy car, a manufacturer making good software. And now they are going to partner up with that architecture and use IT on some future, which they say in within the the second half of this decade.
So sounds like walks wagons going to get some help on the software side from revision based on what they've learned because they've made IT as far and seem to be doing a pretty good job. So this was not something I was fully expecting. Even though rivals got in investments from like ford, I think they're supose to build a ford S U V.
At some point, but that never happened. So it's great for evian. I think it's a it's good for Walker wagon as well because .
now a folks group owns so many car companies. I do you like, they own portia oui la berg. I like across the road, and they make tones of different types of cars.
I think this just feels like another, yet another feather on their cap of, like, can make rivals another thing we work with them on. cool. great. I don't know. I just all see what the announcements that are that come out of this and when they actually start making new models, that would be cool to see. But yeah, I just think that makes the ones that they've already announced that much more likely to eventually .
actually come out. Great, great fear living fan. This hopefully should be good as long as they're not a step. But question about .
this because we were talking about this, I think last week with the with the fiscal news where, let's say, somewhere down the line, revision doesn't make IT and they are no longer company. What happens to the revision like I want in our three, if I get in our three eventually when that comes out and then the company goes belly up, what I do with my car.
there's a couple things that change when a car company goes under the most obvious one of service who services your car um don't know, you just drive IT till something breaks and then you'd fix IT yourself or your cars cooked.
That's what miles were saying that you can really .
do that with like so much .
harder yeah you can really go under the food like if something just breaks on the inside, you're fine, but if something like fundamentally has an issue with your pattern on an E V at that, that's the end if you can't service IT, so that that is a concern. But then there's other things like software updates.
Uh, do they continue to get software updates or support or they stop getting updates and there is some sort attack or something? What happens then? I don't know. There's also charging network and this is a little simpler because they should all have the ability to, with an adapter, plug into any testa supercharger.
But before that was even because if you don't have access and rival has those charges that are theoretically no longer maintained because they go belly up, then where do you plug in only electric america? That's obama. yeah. It's is not a good, not a good look when the product maker disappears. It's definitely .
tougher because I even with text being the most popular E V right now, if you have to get your tesla fixed at like a non tesla service center, like a mechanic, still parts are way more scared compare to like like manufacturer. And not every mechanic is able to do IT. So if you're something like a fischer, if you brought a fischer into a mechanic right now, there would be like ah sim and I can help you like nothing's going to happen here um even if you probably brought a tesla into a lot of them to be like, I don't know if I can do this and they're far more popular than anything else so yeah yeah it's a tough spot if a riving one belly up, which I hope they never do you know about. But everyone of the figure right now is probably very worried that and hope nothing .
I think of taking clock on how long you can drive that thing you well, I didn't find anything get mad about so I get some mad about that very go.
wow. Nice, great child there IT .
is I found something .
that I bored .
this time. Oh yeah.
right. First question. I'm just gonna play James again.
So the first one question one, in ninety forty seven, I offered computer scientists lammed to have discovered the first computer bug when they removed a creature from a reay in the half at mark two computer that had caused IT to fail. What kind of creature was IT?
Andrew.
staring blinky into space. I .
drew one.
I don't think .
it's accurate though I am sitting in David seat .
so IT would be canned .
for me .
to do a terrible you have so .
I don't think David .
is I raz what guys?
Oh, so interesting.
I said, fly.
Andrew roach.
markets roach, okay.
And the answer and um I .
asked what creature was excepted from the harvard mark two computer making IT the first real computer bug and that was a mouth.
You got A T I that so confident I was trying .
to .
think of what bug would be in a house and a mouth makes so much more sense. I, I had to ask me, harvard people would have roaches for some reason.
What are they doing? Boston, yes, they have roaches.
Well.
just watch me get these next two wrong to, in all my confidence oh yeah.
I forgot you said .
you definitely know the answer that I .
thought he would know that one that's like fab B, B, B.
O.
Let me see. I not say that. sorry. So used to be where you are.
all right. And now the second question, the ARM processor .
is in everything these days, i'm sure, before in our phones, in our pockets, ARM is an acronym. What does IT stand for? And what did IT originally stand for? IT changed in around one thousand ninety.
Again, two points up for .
the accurate is ARM. I just want to confirm that.
right? Yes.
I good.
Bolton can even make .
up a fun one, and I have to make .
up message center .
works .
with nest A, P. I. Hang out on air.
I did .
that .
youtube .
gaming out on air.
Wow, right? The sea got you. You are very confident again to house. And I .
know one, but I didn't know what ever changed.
Alright, football. And read, what do you got much .
as you go first gobal good.
I wrote actual, real messages. Okay, I was wrong. And then I wrote ARM instruction manual.
which is also wrong. I can use that, are we?
Word is an eyes with the art in the middle is exact. yeah. I D, I, I. Architect, random memory okay.
sure.
I put advanced risk machine.
is the a risk with the sea?
It's another chronic, a sense for reduced .
instruction set chip .
there an acronym.
And you would that this has been a trivial question before too. What has what does risk stand for?
我 没干。
All right, the answer to the second question .
and for the number two, I asked what the arb acronis these days. IT is the advanced risc machine .
let's .
but the armed processor was a developed by a british computer company called icon computers, and IT was originally .
the icon risk machine. So fun.
All right. branding.
So David gets one more point, Alice, on the board with a point. Yeah, you you're for David.
right? So I didn't get you three, David.
So the score after this is mark z, still with a eleven. 我, Andrew, with twelve.
you were tied .
with David. I want last questions.
David has thirteen and Alice on the board with one.
Let's go.
I'm literally .
Carrying the one also. James was like, it's t you know, if you write review questions, I can answer them. I guess I only got got a third of them, right? So maybe that is a to great.
great. And there, my friend. Yeah, well, that concludes this episode of headlines in a hat.
A good, good headlines. Good trivia. Thank you, James. Thank you. J shout to the whole episode.
If you watch IT, it's another good one, another banger bone episode back with a regular schedule programing. And of course, that means will be back next week. So until then, catch later base.
