We've all had turning points in our lives where the decisions we make end up having lasting consequences. No one knows this Better than the founders of some of today's most influential in Christmas moments.

Let's listeners in on the maker break events that defined major companies like dropbox, youtube, Robin hood and told by the founders themselves, tune in the season two of crucial moments. Today you can listen at crucial moment, stop com, ever. You listen to podcasts.

But we gonna not talk two .

things that just like a question, like last and a good like how shorts, still only one minute, because I was trying to .

write my nothing youtube short. Yes, will be long OK.

This is proved that this could be a fun conversation, but I think we just do.

The had phone .

run up this week, I don't IT why would two shirts ever be longer .

because of vertical?

Ah what is some people of internet? Welcome back to another episode of the way from podcast where your hosts do. And i'm David.

And today we've .

got a mix of stories. It's kind of it's one of those weeks were a bunch of little stuff. Well, a bunch of medium size stuff happened medium all over the place.

Yeah, a bunch of very unrelated. The tension this week are going to be off the change rare week. Yeah, for any anywhere from r one reviews being out a just process.

your judge lid tests.

cutting a super church team. I don't know where we have some headphones to talk about.

It's a good time. I can't wait to hear the cycles this week.

Yeah, it's can be fun speaking of cycles.

but first, what do you remember?

Do you remember that bird .

APP social media? We were talking about twitter a while ago. Other one, the .

Better one, but the .

sentence one, and I installed LED IT of birds. I got bird. Boy.

do you a cool.

like a cool variety. And I ve only had. So it's really cool birds that are in, my friend IT says, the name of the bird if a new species comes up like if I go back when these were new of this blue jay is awesome and you get video of them to eating the seeds that the budget tail feather um yeah it's pretty awesome and it's just like social media with birds yeah and I can share .

this everybody .

I can pick which postcards .

I want to post cardinals .

a house fish yeah but lots of them and this blue j picture is awesome that's pretty hard .

and cover album .

new way for.

Have you got anything that .

I would take .

a couple .

weeks before they might trust the bird future? But they were there like day two.

Tell him to a put that blue jay in the .

behind one of our heads like it's one of the other.

You know why that .

will also be. This apps pretty awesome. The bird feature pretty cool, so pricy.

But do you get a notification every time of burgos?

You can change how you wanted. So mine is, if it's like, just happy, we'll be like, quick. You can watch this bird live. And then at the end of the day, i'll be like, you had x amount of bird show up and these many different species, then you can do a .

week up of all the ones. How's the solar roof? Do you have to recharge IT?

I have not had to recharge IT yet. My only great right now is I think I need to move a closer to my house because the wifi connection seems like it's going out a little, which isn't that's fault. And four kid or ten D, P, footage is locked. Bind a pro.

Give you seven.

I think .

it's seven twenty. Yeah, it's pretty solid and you you just a bird. So maybe I don't .

need high.

I don't feel like paying for yeah I won't. That's fair. But there's some people out there who mind think I can also send all of you guys links to like join and watch this bird fear if you .

want the fact that you haven't done that already。

I did and nobody listened in slack.

You did. Where is your on vacation?

I send that again. But i'm press I an everyone.

You can only have two people.

So what just have to do? So going to be the first two. We will have to do like just A A bird ipad in this office for anyone who wants .

to have a good idea. It's like the the emulating the palm pre but yeah putting .

to pick up moving the the .

other .

day and I know I people .

but squirl though and then I will say bird type squirl K.

I can't wait for that to happiness. nice. Yeah that's the bird by fun as fun .

speaking a birds really big. Oh, I was doing some research on icon because we were talking about them a lot recently. Turns out they've been kind of blowing up in the last couple of years like their sales have gone way up. And over that thought, keep going, okay. And a big reason is because people are getting really into burning right .

now because I love that for humanity.

Yeah and I was to say like, yeah, people are truly getting into building because it's like the last thing that kind of hard to shoot because birds move really fast and you .

have to like to get them and like it's it's pretty difficult to difficult like when you're used to taking video and portraits like in a controlled space and then you get your controller you like like sports photography .

but smaller subject yeah yeah and sports hotoke phy they are running in .

a circle over and over can find rectangle yeah yeah like wild life like goo little closer to that tree like my framing is just not like set .

up what do I hold the thought about .

with night so you said that it's been blowing up .

recently speaking .

and blowing up um tela let off they just blip their entire super charge or team gone yeah specifically IT seems like elon just did IT one .

day when they shut down .

the super church no they laid off off the entire supercharger team. Now for those unfamiliar tesla super charges, pretty important part of tesla, right um for when we talk about electricity cars, almost every time we talk about tesla's advantage, we talk about the super church network, which is if you need to charge this car on our road trip somewhere.

The only reliable, consistently reliable way to do that for our own experience for years has been the supercharger network to the point where one by one over the past few months, basically every evy maker that ship's cars to amErica is going to be switching their port or shipping adapters to the N, A, C, S. Port to see, to use tests, le super charge or network because it's such a big selling point here. So all that being said, tesla very suddenly laying off the entire supercharger team, which includes all the permitting, all of the sight maintenance, all of the uh, future planning and basically just shutting down growth of the super church in network like nipping IT right on on that day .

over five hundred .

people yeah seems like a pretty bold move. yeah. Um I think everyone sort of assumes that it's for cost cutting and you know it's tesla stock Price is doing one thing and we want there you know profits to do the other thing and so know there's not going on and pretty crazy roofless business decisions get made by this guy all the time. So yeah, the supercharger team is the latest victim completely gone. Ah I don't know, how do we feel like this is gonna go?

Yes, kind of wild because like you said, everyone is moving to N C S. And that laff included rebeca to nushi, who was the senior director of E V charging and was the person that pretty much like handled all of the is convincing all of the other companies to switch ten A C S. yeah. So they kind of finish doing that. And then now the entire teams and there were a bunch of employees that literally said they were breaking ground on new locations and then they just got the news and always said they just have to stop yeah.

So IT seems like at some point were going to feel the effects of IT. And I think that would mean, well, okay. So there wasn't you on tweet about how old were stopping growth, were focusing on just maintenance up time?

Yes, say like that. My initial thought on this and I don't fall stock crisis, I don't know anything about business, but like when I first saw IT felt like, oh, we built this crazy super charging system. Everybody loves IT.

It's the most reliable. Everybody is is going to IT now. Thanks for building IT later. Like, yes, it's easier to maintain something that you built already .

even instead of building A T of using IT about .

like five. I don't think it's a good thing, but my first thought was like IT feels like they did at all. And I felt we see that in tech a lot like, oh, thanks for building this off software, something like that, trusting you like, building something somewhere else.

What we the piece of mind, knowing that you're always going to have a super children nearby is so important to like ownership of an E V.

There's a lot of upcoming locations on the map where people are like, I can't wait for that one because then I can finally do this route. I can finally do this right right now looks like those are gona happen so yeah ah .

that's oba for yeah he tweed. Tesla plans to grow the super network, lower pace for new locations and more focus on one hundred percent of time in expansion of existing locations. So I don't know if that means just adding more stalls to existing locations. Yeah, the up time is alta pretty, dad, like we've had very good up time history. Ally, yeah.

I could see fox on up time like if it's going to be so many more people, maybe there's higher opportunity of the uptime not being as good yeah and focus on that. But even .

if that .

is the focus, firing five hundred people yeah and slowing the growth of the network because no matter how good the network is, if we're dung about gas cars, the network looks like rap yeah.

That's the two sides that like when you can pare the text superstition network to gas cars, IT seems like they need to have a lot of growth to do. But on the other side, when you compare the supercharge network to everyone else no longer needing to build up, there are nearly because they all just to do N C S. Like, yeah, we won. No one else is gonna come close to the tesla sy production network. No need to build that up anymore.

Yeah IT feels like when we're talking about like even just tesla or revision in vehicle software, you're like this is the best in vehicle software of any car you like how wit to an ipad like what's terrible? Yeah so like yeah, there's still so .

much room for growth here. Did you guys read that story a couple weeks ago about the I think that was an f one fifty lightning or no is a riva owner that charged as at a supercharger and he was like right after he got his adapter and he had a tesla owner, they called the cops on him because he was like, that is illegal for you to do this. You cannot be doing this he's like, bro, no, they opened IT up and he's like, no, this is only for tesla users .

ah we are quite well, weird okay yeah .

the problem is the science still say tesla charging only that's .

true or do yeah the happiness .

supercharger have a big t as test less supercharger yeah super charging .

only which they obviously mean just because don't talk you and take up a Price. But previously IT was only this.

That's very funny.

Yes, person called the the biggest reaction area. Did you also see ribon has decided to open up their their adventure network ovis? All five of them. Yeah, everyone. So I mean, they don't have a ton of charges, obviously, ep, but they do plan on switching to and updating with any yes, and allowing everyone to charge on their well.

maybe half of these engineers will go to revision and start expanding .

the revision. C. I wonder how much capital and how big of the head start tesla network is over a realistic competitor to like make IT.

Like even if you start building a secondary N A C S network today, I guess you don't art. You can be elect amErica like swooshing a more to N C S. Building a ton more.

Could that realistically be the like standard of up time someday? I don't know. No, it's not very .

despite they had start, if there were ever a time to want to try and chip away, that had start. It's when they fire five hundred people who built that had start. Yes, who knows?

Yeah, right. I work on to hold on too late, but you don't have to we are gonna say, yeah ah but this is tough on this yeah i'm willing to hear IT speaking .

of what could be happening on the horizon with things like this tesla charging network. But also meta. Meta just started started licensing the horizon O, S. That he uses on its quest to third parties.

Yeah.

yeah. I did. I find this really funny because I don't know if you guys remember back when microsoft was trying to make windows A R headsets, and they stay like open source IT.

So like delta headset IT was mixed reality as winter mixed delma head set the nova made a had said he made to had set IT was like twenty, sixteen or twenty um when the quest was first starting to like take off like oculus connect one or two. So windows was like, we got to get in on this and they made like paint three in all of these three, the applications. I mean.

what's yeah so they basically .

just like wanted you to be able to use windows and mix reality. And so all of these third parties made a bunch of hardware to be use with IT. Nobody bought IT.

And then microsoft didn't support IT. They didn't keep IT up like at all. They just didn't keep updating IT all eventually. And this is kind of the playbook IT seems like very google of them yeah, except like google at least makes like the underlying stuff sometimes.

Microsoft basically didn't sell hollands to regular people, so they didn't have a first party headset, so they just relied on third parties to make the headsets that would work with windows mix reality. Now meta decided that it's going to license horizon O S. So now if you're lenovo or dollar aces, you can just build basically a quest for by running your own hardware .

vision pro.

Yeah, they want to be they want to be android, right? They're metas now all about open source and they're all about like I guess we can build the metaphors by ourselves and all the stuff. Um they're also making a limited run gaming focus quest with x box just for x box that makes a .

tone is they are they're trying to I I see what that's gonna be play station as play station V R. And like yeah it's not the most popular but like x box is gonna to do that eventually. Why would IT matter be the one that could make money off of yeah too much so they .

can just licence because they're already built out this OS. They put so much money into IT like you might as well just license IT out because again, if there's more VR adoption that is Better for meta. And like every capacity.

yeah they want to be the foundation of a lot of the stuff, right that's check. So yeah um .

they're also pitching IT to other o EMS as a headset you can Carry with you and instantly expand your works based on the go. So basically the vision pro multiple monitor kind of idea yes.

I just yeah no I like to understand all of them like bigger workspace thing, but I just cvr is fundamental ve games yeah this weekend, uh clears friends came over and brought their kids and I pulled out the quest to them. And I just watched them have the best time until literally the battery watching people yeah so cool and find them like experiencing that yeah yes.

Watching on try beat table for the first time, univerSally one of the most one things yeah.

also the quest story just got a update. I just found really funny and now has the ability to view immersive panem c images. No, because I feel exactly just like, what can the vision pro do that we can do lying downmove. Let's go panic images.

Let's go .

get .

there.

We'll get there. So anyway, I just find that is just a very specific thing that the vision problem is able to do, that the quest didn't do. And i'm sure that like, suck is happy about vision process because like, oh yeah, that's a good idea.

I just add that and they can they can now get closer and closer to saying, we offer everything vision pro offers for five hundred dollars, right? You know? So yeah, i'll see how that of all in the future can make that.

yes.

Who's wearing the V, R. Headset thumb for this week?

No, thank you. Can I just .

say on vacation, I took the meta glasses .

with me or and .

they were and they're freaking .

awesome and I am now a believer of the .

glasses for in fact, there what did you bring the .

sunglasses or the sn class I wool to work .

but i'm matching .

the like seven P M dinner reservation and like the food comes sounds like how on now I think .

we were talking about IT. Yes, so but there's not a lot of fun things I do inside that. I want to record first things outside, though, doing a lot cool stuff. See.

I want to borrow one. Because when lane first wakes up, he is like the smilest baby ever. But if he sees a phone SHE like transfixes to IT and kind of shut down.

So I want to put the mind just when I pick her up in the morning, because it's adorable, but interesting. I wonder how he would reactivate sungars on as I woke up IT. Seven o'clock .

in the morning is the five there were sunglasses .

hovering over the crib.

Yeah, I might.

I financially think that adding new features to existing things we are to use in our everyday life is the best way to get people into new platforms. So yeah, i've seen a ton of people outside in manhattan with metal quest 还行。

matter events。 I've seen them out in the child to someone in the building .

as them yeah I ve never seen in the really yeah not that i've noticed which maybe that's a good thing. Maybe I they also just opened .

up the multi mode ure to everybody late last right?

So can go look and tell me.

yeah yeah and what is everything and .

what is this? When was the brookland bridge made?

What is this business understanding .

in front of?

So that's a one.

Well.

we take a quick we we .

have some .

quick rabbit final felt coming up and some other stuff with youtube. But first we should we should do trivia.

We should do that. Trivia are a first question. Do you guys want? I'll give you the option because I have two options here. okay. Do you guys want a question about birds or a thing about microsoft?

Can you question with both?

No, I dinner. I am over the tech questions.

but you're the time broker.

interesting. Oh, you have one Better. Mx, yeah.

I think we know what we have a Better chance.

Bird has go. Bird, yes.

let's go. alright. So we were talking about the bird body. So let's talk .

bird like flinches.

This bird scientific name is science signo sita Crystal a signo sita. What is like Christina?

Like .

Chris A. Because a chrystal.

what is the common name of sad bird?

I don't know. See the mica question.

Water is a twitter bird. Is the twitter bird the twitter verse? Yes, you a microsoft question. Why you I think we're still trying the problem.

but we can do the microsoft .

you guys are going to hate when you learn the answer to that. Okay, the market.

So you now .

what does the x in x box stand for?

Experience, extra .

way.

exercise.

exercise box. The approach x yeah .

X X .

is cool.

Yeah, I have been .

bleeding your eyes. Yeah, I love that. That is okay.

So the review came out. The video is up. Surprising man of time spent color correcting every shot with oranges.

And to try to make IT look way to actually does not always. It's really hard. It's the brighter test. Orange thing in any room. Medicine is like, almost is visible in the dark that's so it's like a safety code orange.

It's like hard. Yeah safety. It's like a darker orange that is still wild.

great. Like almost hurt your eyes. impressive. I know it's impressive.

It's a little A I in a box design my team engineering made by start up called rabbit and IT has a camera, has a speaker as a jog wheel as a screen. We talked about IT a bit last week and we compared to in A I pin talk about what IT does and sort of this this um I was actually pondering last week in real time like the state of reviewing these unfinished gadgets and that didn't make IT through for you.

So if you watch the view that will be the the link pool of the the like button, you can check that out. Um our updates are one there's an O O T A update for this thing, the first one which pretty classic as soon as you're done. Review always happened.

I feel that always happens and always comments like they should just waited for their view. We did didn't know about that either.

The review should have waited for the O T, A, or the product .

should have shipped with this giant maybe.

Um so the fix mostly seems to improve. Stand by a battery life. Yes, from your experience.

how has IT has IT actually work? Yeah actually surprisingly, they said that there is a core bug that they squashed, which i'm not really sure why they didn't do that before they shipped the device.

Didn't they claim it's like five ax Better?

Yeah which is kind of true because that yeah because previously it's like if I didn't church IT the next day IT would be dead even if I didn't use IT once um now yesterday around four P M, I unplugged IT at around ninety seven percent and I haven't used that once today. But it's seventy two that you had some way Better than that will used to be yes, at least it's not dead every time you fight up.

Now we were having this conversation yesterday that the news came out about the five vex battery life update. And David, I was saying like that is such a wild number that either there's no way does that good or what did you mess up in the first place that you can fix something?

Yeah yeah. Don't see soft updates doing five improvement .

of anything. I twenty percent something, not five hundred percent.

Yeah oh yeah. So well, the other thing that they actually change the screw will x yeah because a lot of people are talking about IT. So now IT IT moves a lot faster.

still doesn't look.

it's still not quite there. But last time I was like a full thing would move like one and .

one now moves like three.

The accelleration feels a lot Better. IT could still be even more fine tune, but is a lot Better. I still think you need a way to get home without stroling all the way to the .

top and clicking home like a gesture yeah almost like a like a swipe screen there room so .

i'm really yeah so dave.

to do he also did a review of the rabbit and he had the section in his video I I texted him after, because I literally, we almost did this in the humane video in this rabbit review. Maybe I just play the clip. So if I had to redesign thing, this is what I would do first I get through the score will completely it's cute, but it's just not useful love to me.

And then now probably just move the camera on top of the bezzle. There's a little bit room there and then maybe at some harvard volume button. IT is a speech based device and you might extend the screen because, you know, room down there and look, it's a phone like the thing you already have in your pocket.

I literally had the exact same thing. I removed IT from the video, but IT was a section of the human ipad review, which is okay. How would I improve this thing that they made? okay.

Number one, the baby life sucks. So maybe just a way bigger battery cameras bad. Like bigger cameras.

A the projector suck. So probably give IT a screen instead. And then like three, four steps latters like that.

So that that is still so very true about the big question these things have to answer, which is, why would I want one when I have a phone already? yeah. And they kind of don't really answer that for most people, which is still true. But at least the battery doesn't die overnight.

And what is good, I think IT makes more sense on the rabbit one, because the human penalises is like connected you on the outside and different when this, you have to plot your basket. So why is this not just that? Well.

we'll get there. But I just want to read the release notes for the update of quake. So I Better performance uh, improved by up to five x at a timezone selection for iron's settings. huge.

yeah. How is that not? I can't believe that ships without time zone selection .

yeah and I .

think time that's why yeah all of the real .

life yeah that's on the .

wrong pacific time because I asked IT what time IT was. IT told me three hours before actual pacific time like when I reviewed IT in the video, you can see mine says at seven am, what is clearly noon in the studio and off camera we asked, what time is IT and I said, it's four. I am on the west coast, which means it's seven am, where are you are? So like, yes, yeah, both of things are wrong, but at least you gave me some math to explain why you're thinking what you are.

You show your work. So IT says there is no attempts on selection, and IT should auto select based on G, P.

S, location.

So IT has your GPS location well, says, made more aware of when to use G, P, S. To query your location and understands how to leverage that information.

Other part of the up is response to your .

twice basically, yeah, should hopefully stop saying I do not have access to your location.

Yeah so the confusing thing about that, just to clarify, is when that made IT seem like IT doesn't use G P S, but he does want to use IT, right? But the language model was telling you that. So that all seems really because .

the large language model is a prediction machine. The large language model, when you cry IT is like, no, i'm not because the language model is not using G P S, but because this has solution. IT knows your location. The physical hardware does know your location. And so the language model is like, no, I don't because technically the language model doesn't, but the hardware does.

My fisted punch, my brain punch.

This is just an example.

but because IT set IT out loud like that, I made IT keeping track of you.

Yeah, people clipsed about this like that matter does the exact same thing with the ray bands. People post clips about, yeah, exact same thing anyway that was an update uh, improved detection of server connections, which is good because a lot of the time jobs just like unlucky and it'll be like connecting the server, failed to connect to rabid OS. Since like cool, I just can't use the device entry, I lock IT .

and unlocked form.

just use an offline more yeah await does nothing um improved music playback U I so yeah .

that's think of that's nice. It's actually really I will say the couple of upset that does have the music playback really knowing that I could not get the uber APP to work, I connected my account. IT was login.

IT was attached. I said, call me in uber to this place. He said, where would you like to call IT from?

Give me the location and I did. I said, okay, calling in uber. Where would you like to call IT from?

Give me your location. I said from here and I said, okay, where would you? I like to go so I just can get that to work. And just, i'm happy there are some .

proving I did you see queen .

twice about ordering dora? H, yeah. I didn't ask him what he wanted and then send at home when you at work yeah .

and he didn't get .

like confirm any yeah um okay. Improved reliability for bluetooth connectivity, which are not sure anyone is using blue on that right now because at the end, like later on the line, if you use this as your main device, you'd want to be use both to thought that. But right now, literally nobody can use that as their main device.

So you know, improved stability on meeting assistant slash record for longer durations. Shore improve the agra y regarding time related information during conversation that doesn't do timers. Yeah so I didn't know that.

I thought I did.

No, you know, the best part of IT is when you ask IT uh to set a timer instead of being like just sing, I can set a timer. It's like I don't have the ability to set a timer. If you'd like to track the time, you should stare at a clock.

If you would like to .

check that time, you can manually track the time by looking at a clock.

I maybe i'm just hlubi ating this like the rabid would do but I swore they took a shot at humane for timers and like .

reminders um I .

don't know. Okay, I could be totally wrong and that but I just assumed the sad timer IT is well that two over a hundred dollar devices came out in the last month that can set a timer.

My ipad does .

not calculator the for a while.

the home park at one time, at a time yeah.

that's a little IT was a huge job .

day the yeah a while was like .

a decade was that that we live in age of wonders.

I think so yeah, we truly listen .

so funny am I like a home? My next home, i'll have a time or and be like of this point is a little longer. You can just go like at ten minutes to that time and you can watch IT immediately doing and like, that's kind of nice. And there are somehow things in twenty twenty three that can yeah even get .

close to society. If instagram hide an ipad that we can set multiple timer yeah, yeah.

yeah. That's something I would like my personal assistant to be able to do.

Could you imagine in a personal thing, remind me in five minutes and it's like I can do that.

I can do a man something as on the will house like you might have to use you from what .

do you need for yeah okay. So um that's all fun. Still for sales .

download a timer APP.

So yeah interesting. So yesterday, Michelle man, who you guys might know, he used to work with developer, he's down fillies but mostly doing stuff with the android authority.

We interviewed .

him for the same in a more exact sorry, I 也就是 小意思。

的 sandwiches there is。

Anyway, i'm sorry else he texted me yesterday and he said, dude, you're not gone to believe this and he sent me a screen. And IT was the r one logo on a pixel. Uh, six a and effectively the whole rabbit O S are one thing can run on an android phone because it's basically like the the thing that you interact with on the device is basically just an android APP, but it's the only thing you interact with.

So the A P K that he was able to side loaded onto his picture six a went to the whole set up process, just like he wood on the rabbit r one. He was able to, IT said, like things for inserting your team mobile sim card. Now you can do this all of all of the stuff. And he was able to query, ask questions, setting up on, when went on a rabbit hole, I said.

you've got a rabbit. I think he set IT up through the the launcher. Yeah, like he set up his rapid hole account .

on the pixel success, yeah, oh yeah. So is just very funny, because this technically is just in a phone, because everyone says, why shouldn't this be an? Why isn't this just an APP? And the irony of this whole thing is IT is IT isn't crazy yeah .

but they want to say.

no, they they then being rabbit, the lam is not yeah .

which one was i'll just read the the meeting, just read the the official statement is we are where there are some unofficial al rabbo s APP webs like emulators out there.

We understand the passion that people have to get a taste of our A I and lam, uh, instead of waiting for the r one to arrive, that being said, to clear any understanding and set the restate rabbit OS and lame run on the cloud with a very b spoke A O S P and lower level formal modifications, therefore a local boot leg A P K without the proper O S in cloud and points won't be able to access our service. Rabbo s is customize for our one, and we do not support third party clients using a bootleg. A P, K or website Carries significant risks. Malicious actors are known to publish bootleg apps that still your data. For this reason, we've recommend users avoid using these bootleg rabbo s apps.

Yeah don't really know what he means by bootleg. Um you know someone Michael l was guessing that someone extracted the A P K from there are one and then distributed and like they were able to run android a on the r one yeah they ran a bunch of different android debs on the r one, which means whatever the O S, the r one is using locally is A S P base, which is fine.

I don't think they didn't actually they didn't like a lie about anything, right? We're not what he's trying to like. Gotcha rabbit right now.

I think the just a funny kind of ironic thing about all of this is that everyone just keep saying wise in this snap and IT like is like the lab is run in the cloud, rabbit, A O S is running in the cloud, all the stuff, but there is naos p like build on the device. There's running on that stuff. And because you could point that two android phone because it's android IT could just be an APP. So the big question is just like why hardware yeah .

period question .

feels very .

much a business decision over anything other practical. I mean, I think that .

the process here are, if he was an APP, you have everything that I can do in this lamb in the future that does sound really cool. We all agree. Large action model sounds really cool.

Except imagine IT with way Better computer power, computing power, Better interactions, Better camera, pretty much Better everything that really Better, Better? Yes, yeah. But then when you're rabbit, the Better part of IT is selling an APP and marketing an APP is so much harder than a great china teenage engineer, orange.

This developed an in saying amount of hype you can tell that because every time we've talked about on the podcast.

IT gets like more use than anything else.

obviously. Um so yeah it's like, you know no boy's trying to gotto them. It's like they lied about anything just kind of ads to all of the irony about how I definitely could be an APP .

yeah the interesting thing to me too is like if you take this statement and you assume it's true, right? Let's say that this is a bootleg APP, which i'm assuming what he means by that is that someone saw the popularity a rabbit. They made some random apk APP that simulates what it's like to be on rabbit OS.

Let's say that's true, okay. But then the device itself still runs A S P, does IT not? Yes.

that's what everyone is.

That's what everyone is saying. And but they seem have a problem .

with us pointing that out. no. And I why they .

the first worried? Yes.

I think they are worry that people think like that nothing is running in the cloud and everything is local and that you could just run everything on the phone, which is clearly not true. That's not how google does IT either. You know, like gemini ultra runs on the cloud on all these servers.

Zero runs in the cloud when you clear IT. It's like it's not like it's just onna be all local. But I think that they're worried that people think IT is because if IT all was then yeah you could just put IT on a phone.

I saw a comment which was just a obviously not great comet, but was saying, like, I don't get mark, markets really thinks these large action models could run on a phone. It's like, no, he just thinks that the way is running on the rabbit would run Better on a phone because the rabbis less powerful and all the cloud based stuff is still gona work Better yeah as nap makes no IT .

doesn't make up as much sense if like.

yeah, giving this thing Better hard work would not .

make IT worse IT be crazy if I did let's be real if I .

did that be a sweet no yes. So I don't know. It's funny. I'd buy a .

phone in that orange immediately. I did. You don't even .

know what I would be there about comments like on the review like you that color ago design, which is the entire ries .

like feel like that color needs to be the color of the like hats or scarves that celebrates broke next the humanity and was like artifact because his computer artizan phones, like camera, just could not compute correctly .

what yeah the difference between like the side of IT and the top of IT? However, as a reflect slight, both overwhelm the sensor. So just looks like it's a flat, over saturated .

orange stripe. Yes, it's impossible.

Camera clipsed is .

gonna break your sensor.

The guys still want one.

I still .

kind of.

oh, my G, I G. I want IT. And I think about what I do and so cool I got .

to at least that doesn't diameter .

a i'm not touching. You want one. What are you going to do with that? Because imagine it's an APP. Like would you how how would you open .

that up on your fun? Well, that's something because it's not an APP. I'm interested in IT O I I see their point like they got me because if IT wasn't APP, IT doesn't work. So I mean, I wouldn't .

really .

use IT mean actual .

functionality .

and it's not great .

like I still think there's a huge future in that and how it's working. Vex, that's not what the consumers .

getting you like eventually some point down the line. If that thing works, I would take IT alongside my phone, not instead of a phone. But I one hundred percent would take .

that alongside the .

phone stead of the things.

because I, what the rabbit could just be your assistant on your phone? IT could.

But you have a camera on your phone, but you still Carry around a camera. I do. Yeah.

that's what I mean, like eating rare, yes.

but it's that kind of device to me like I feel like having that separated out of my phone. I would enjoy that.

Yeah, I can see this being like A A launcher, an android launcher because there's like what I was thinking is this is kind of like a dump one you know there's like the whole dum phone tran that's gone on right now. It's like you can't use social media and you can do this and you can do that. It's not able to try just people are talking about IT as as if there is a change. It's like.

I mean, like I I could be the palm phone world, the of the secondary. You keep your phone in your bag and then you have this like intrusion .

like I get that. I think the thing that keeps striking me about, like why this thing useful is, is because it's an assistant and IT has to be useful to you. And to be useful to you, you need IT to know all the stuff about you, but because it's separate from your phone and doesn't connect to your funeral, IT doesn't know any of the things about you. And so you have to you have to really dedicate yourself to like travelling information into IT to get anything out of or .

they can just allow google to input all my information. And there IT is if they part with google.

the more I think about this and how we said before, like imagine if you actually hired in assistant and they couldn't do a timer. That's what I just now i'm going to think about every time they're like, oh, this can do IT. What's messing that up? Be like if I higher an assistant and said, hey, can you uber eat me something like this?

I do door dash and also, I can't really read the menu and i'm not sure where you're located for me to do this right now. I would fire them. I not yeah that's .

that's how i'm literally talking about this. And by the way, does have some cool features that are like superhuman features, like I pointed at my screen and IT read the whole page instantly and gives me a summary. Assistance can read, but like this will be fashion than in humans.

So i'll point out like a page long article, and I think I can scroll yet because I don't think that reads on video, but i'll point IT out like a full page thing and i'll say give me a if that look at me two, three sentences like right away, like that's that's super useful. Like if a person could do that because it's got a brain and it's gotten eye and IT like looks at the thing and reason for you, that's cool. So that glimpse of like what I could be is fun.

But yeah just needs so much more like information about the person and that information on your phone. Yeah that's that's what gets me really curious about what are going to see in next couple of weeks because we have google I O coming up. We we're starting see some rumors about. Sai and theory and A I starting to like melt together a little bit in possibly wwdc announcements. So i'm obviously curious about what series look like if IT was good um and what google list is think could possibly start to do if they see what these A I assistance in a box things are good at serious listening you I said syria and I sorry for saying serious so often serious seriously um so sorry about that. But yeah i'm seriously going to see from from these companies in next few weeks because they clearly have seen these announcements and they're clearly going to make some stuff yeah hope fully yeah yeah well.

see if google does. I mean, I think we're all expecting google too.

but it's me too. There go google.

go, go, go, go, go, go.

go to my yeah.

it's google. So I can't promise that they will actually integrate this even though this is their time. They should be they should be doing everything that this does, but just in google assistant right now.

But it's also google.

Google should just buy IT. It's also true about it's also .

true about .

that the apple because, okay, spoiler. But we had a conversation with Jessie, the the cofounder of rabbit, like before we got to use the product right. And I asked all these questions.

Why is that on an APP? Would you guys think of your head start over these other big players? And one of the things he talked about was we believe we are going to have this head start essentially forever because it's like we've put in the work and we have this L M.

And that iteration will always be once to ahead of whatever google apple decides to start making today. And I I get the philosophy is like G P T four will always be ahead of whoever started after GPT. That's not true.

It's necessarily about the vision pro. What about vision, bro? Like it's a first generation heads had from apple but later than more features than a lot of the other headsets. Yeah, I guess like training wise, if you think of their of their of their models as IT rating on top of each other that they think that their their lead is safe in that department and still hard .

to just to out IT. That sentence is exactly what I would say if I wanted someone to pay me for the work that i've done and just license this out and get bought out by someone.

But on other hand, like one the last time able to anything about theory.

two thousand and fall.

I kind of get IT.

We would do a bit of like what would come first, like updated Better theory or the calculator APP, if we do now.

are funding out yeah, this might be a huge year.

They come out. I up this year.

yeah, yeah. This could be the bigger stepped of all .

the biggest stepped. The only way they can one up, the vision put up up, is talk.

We can be here all day. Yeah, I don't know. I say, go watch the review as I stand by all my thoughts on the device itself uh, which mostly are about the fact that the promise of what IT could be in three years of updates is something beautiful and crazy and super helpful and wild and if they're able to get there, awesome.

But buying IT today is just taking up like a lottery ticket towards maybe that future. Yeah and so IT is what IT is today. It's gotta off off update that doesn't kill the battery anymore in a single day.

great. They ve got a long way to go. Ah that is yeah one down, many to go. I would put IT that way. Uh, okay, we ve got to take a quick break, but we got one more little round up a stuff we get to talk about after so we'll get there right after trivia.

Before we get in a trivia today, I want to put out a call because I really wanted to do a trivia question today that I couldn't find all the info to. I wanted to do a real or fake. These devices actually run android under the hood, and I found good ones, but not enough to really make the question. So .

yes.

i'm so interested .

if you are developer, if you're an engineer and you know of a wet s device that runs android, the hood tweet at me at Alice roving i'll we download twitter just to get these sumissively. Maybe next day i'll do a fun rabbit inspired question.

But right now.

the book's pala this week, the best device ever made this week, the three of you chAllenged the two of us to bring you a question that involve both microsoft .

and birds was fast.

But I came through, I have IT here in two thousand and ten, during the lead up to the release of the windows phone seven, microsoft landed in hot water for including a bird thee't APP in their advertising that, according to the developer, had not been ported to windows phone seven. What APP was IT.

There's no year .

two thousand and ten windows phone seven marketing materials features this APP did not launch at the phone to launch the .

yeah like in like windows .

phone seven add there be icons for all the apps and this popular APP was there i'm thinking .

about and this is still on the podcast.

so.

Hey, it's fleam from decoder with new light, a top. We spend a lot of time talking about some of the most important people in taking business about what they're putting resources to and why they think it's so critical for the future. That's why we're doing the special series diving into summer of the most unique ways companies are spending money today.

For instance, what does that mean to start buying and using A I at work? How much is that costing companies? What products are they buying? And most importantly, what are they doing with IT and of course, podcasts? Yes, the thing you're listening to right now, well, it's increasingly being produced directly by companies like venture capital firms, investment funds and a new crop of creators who one day want to be investors.

And what is actually going on with these acquisitions this year, especially in the A I space, why are so many big players in tech deciding not to acquire and instead license that can hire away cofounder? The answer, IT turns out, is a lot more complicated than that seems. You'll hear all that and more this month on decoder with the life of presented by strike. You can listen to the coder whether you get your podcast login back.

So I had a question here which proved that we have a lot of opinions on IT because I just argue e about IT off there. But we brought you back. I was just like writing a short recently for the studio channel and I wanted like thirty more secondments because it's so hard to put your thoughts into one minute, especially when you know people are going to be like, but you didn't even talk about this.

You didn't do that. But but sometimes we don't have enough for a full video. So we do short of IT and tiktok because IT started as a short from content, started adding longer and longer tiktok and like vertical, endless y scrolling content is i'm talking.

But do you ever see youtube as having the shorts videos? S be longer than one minute. What would you like to see? IT as what would be the cut off?

You would be okay with you too. You never change IT should never change a minute. O okay.

What climb is actually some quick. Where is growing on tiktok? Five second video score. Ten second video grow. I, when you get to a two minute tiktok.

what do you do? I watch two mats. No, no.

yeah. Ah, you want to see my legs right now. I'll going.

You watch the whole thing, one, you watch the whole team.

I have to hear that right.

Well, I would argue that most people, when they encounter a several minute long video on their tiktok feed, just leave. And I think, and I think probably most people behavior would reflect that.

right? I tiktok, longer than ninety seconds that wasn't about the, if I see, if I see that thing at the bottom of.

like what does that say, thirty video.

this that youtube video. This is a .

video of a british grap, a eating american sausage and gravy for the this gravy for the first .

time more than a minute.

You is great. It's A, I watch all thing, of course, I very like a yeah, it's him getting explained what biscuits and grave is. And then he explains, that was really just .

a gone because .

they can really crazy.

I would say most people is like a night's strolling before their eyes fall out of their head before they go to sleep is like just thirty seconds, thirty seconds, thirty seconds. And it's like super quick.

That's why I wanted to pitch them. Like where would we draw the line on youtube?

Yeah, I think the line is perfectly set. Sixty seconds or under gets in the shorts feeds that people who are scarrowby the shorts feed just get short videos. And if you want to upload a two minute video or a five minute video, you can it's just a youtube video.

I don't I don't want to like just go into the conversation market as .

I feel like i'm heated here.

My take is that we .

should eliminate short reign video.

meaning you can't update anything under a certain life.

Now that is a certain that way we have to start things forty .

five minutes.

It's got take talk, take talk, take talk.

Take me, take talk on clock. Baby.

are you guys just .

talking about cribe? No, his quippy IT could be sure if I mean, no.

I think cribe was okay.

But this really produce that wasn't like user generated content. I want user generated content where the limit is five minutes.

but when you hit the record button, it's IT does not stop recording for five minutes. We could be done talking is going to .

keep the video s the output have .

to be at least five minutes, just so you stop talking after four minutes. IT just keeps recording and you you just need three more seconds before .

get stop talking. So my question, you have both made shorts before the weather for the studio channel? Yes, main channel name.

And I know you right for them. How many times you've been like there's like three more sentences that feel feel it's like old tweet. I actually how do you feel?

How do you feel when a too long tweet is your timely change?

The .

verbs I think .

you have longer to but italicized .

further tweet the other day .

and I was like, remember what I said?

I I think we were bringing that up and I was like, if you're formatting a tweet, i'm not reading .

IT don't I don't you're too .

much into.

yeah, ninety seconds. I want ninety seven. You are ninety seconds I want is a good idea. I want ninety seconds. I don't want add a lot to I think I think would you ever upload a two minute youtube video along?

Uh, today? No of highly unlikely but there .

have been short where you're like, I wish there is two two more seconds I got here that feel important.

So I agree with all of your logic. I just think that it's a slippery slope .

because I dit ninety .

seconds are going to be like if I had ten more because .

that's what they originally like, thirty a minute, three minute, minute ten.

Did you could you argue that youtube slope isn't a slippy though because they already have .

the long versions is blurry. I just think you need to define, I think, to find IT. So clearly it's vertical sixty seconds or less bomb, you know if its vertical sixty six or less is is short and when you get in that shorts feed, that's all you're gonna. I think .

ninety seconds when an interpret the feed this Alice is giving me a thumbs up off camera. I think anyone can see that. I I ninety six. I think the second is good. A right goes, I think .

really something new mohn see you of youtube. He watched this post is like, right? I think that's a good idea.

Ninety second, and is still cool for the short feet. So now he does IT. So now the shorts feet is anything up to ninety seconds is viable for the shortened feet. And everything over again must be regular youtube video. What is stopping another person from .

saying new is because he listens to the podcast .

and he did ninety thousand. And that's totally take talk all time. I just need three more seconds. You know, I brought this .

up because I wanted you guys to help me with my explanation that I don't have.

I hate that. I agree with both of you. I agree with the idea because I every time I make a short and like, I literally only need three more seconds.

But but I do think it's sorted like that. The work expands to the time alloted. It's the same thing that as soon something it's Normal ized. Like if I just said a little more.

IT will always be that .

a hundred and forty characters. I bet if you look at your average character length per tweet, the second that limit went to two eighty, your average went over one forty yeah. And I bet the second that goes up again, we all just keep going. If the see more button went down to five hundred, we probably start .

having some two hundred people tweeting eaa ten breakfast anymore okay were like writing, yeah and now that's what that's the future elon wants. This is the future elon. He wants people .

twitter that, uh, updates for software updates. You'll do like a whole post on twitter and it's literally like text, inline images. I format the text and everything.

It's like a whole blog post. And IT looks great. It's like a great use, like all of the tools you have available on twitter. And of course, it's hostile doing IT because then you those and then I see all the other people doing way too long tweet and like, oh, this is bad yes.

there too many of these maybe only verified businesses can do IT and then nobody else.

Oh, you saying you should give people like real reasons to be verified. If the gold.

if the gold badge, you can do that and if you don't, you can't latest and I am OK with that.

Yeah i'm just I feel like i'm writing those short script like a gave man to try and get everything I want to say.

This is why should we be banned in america? That's what we're banned. Tiktok more its because short for conference .

sucks and real is also six years less, right? Yeah yeah. Is IT actually that might .

be longer and real? Can I am still .

confused .

about .

the cause? I really station .

m and .

I found any issue ipad as but others .

true that you do everything right.

I would .

say in videos on .

instant confusing though because because there are longer videos, the player is inconsistent and the ratio are inconsistent. And music with photos .

go through pictures as a person.

You just wants to watch videos like all of those different formats. How place is confusing? Is confusing .

kind of track? How often do you guys use real versus tiktok?

I actually, i'm an old man. I'm going warn reals .

I like real a lot because I can send IT to my friends so much easier than having to like tiktok. I I watching, I like and I just show clear yeah real. I just sent to L I think that's the instagram advantage .

is like we have the social graph. So people are gonna stuff to share and they're gonna want to put IT here because that's where their friends are. And so exactly you're talking about is true.

Like if you're going to share our stuff, you're going to share IT through the built in tools. So I watched in screen real more often because I share them more often. There this tiktok have send a friends sharing tools.

I mean, you can send a link to a tiktok. Obviously, you can also send IT to their talk account if they have one. Easy to find them.

not like friends with any of my friends on take .

so friends with.

I believe this people we friends on .

friends, both friends .

with me pressure .

I think the .

same thing I think is the the thing.

So I would .

integram .

reals algoma is getting fantastic IT served me a video with like eight place that was just discover with great music and I was like a that's .

that see you right? This is what okay, you asked to fy use tiktok er reals more done to talk on rails a gone instagram to look at an image that hopefully does not have music playing at the same time. And then I black out and then I looked to the right and it's dark outside and I think what just happened and then I realized i've just watched like an hour of real and i'm like, I gained nothing from that, please.

That's all of the shorts. Call your congress person. Don't just be tiktok. Let's not stop there then every .

short form you need .

follow .

more wholesome .

educational shorts creators be.

get ready, your phone and hot spot to an reader all day like I do the only way to stay off social .

media fast. Otherwise he's not, he's not a long form too. Did you see if you throughout a pitch for .

the White socks? No, I could .

make a big .

do the e reader thing. I ve never seen anything.

We are super of music.

Did you see? Did you hear?

How is the bother you? You know what function .

I still can do on my e or hot spotted to my phone that I uses a phone, listened to music with blue two headphones. Oh, that's crazy.

Hold IT. Can the blue from connect .

to your ear that's hot spotted to your phone? yes. So is IT pulling the music from the cloud from your phone? No.

it's pulling IT from spot.

but through through the data from your farm. Yeah, that's create. Simple is that want to we have quick to happen.

What we're trying to get to start for the sideways being horrible. Okay, let's start with that nothing year a OK. Nothing year air out.

There are some eating some new colors. And the nothing year has gotten refreshed, new Prices. R A is nine nine box.

That's this one, the yellow one and and then nothing. All these are both era. And so you have the nothing year.

There's the big one, and those are one hundred and forty nine dollars. Yeah, a quick summary, quick thoughts. I have only listen to the era, and I was brief, but they sounded fine. I like them.

Yeah, I, I like these Better. I used the year one in the year two. I like this Better because is a more pocketful size.

Yeah, did you notice this? The White E A, they put weight on the stock of them, and IT looks so much Better than that, which the yellow one should be yellow on the stock. Because now this proves that they can do IT.

So the yellow wants is, in new year, you can eat any yellow. And this is a cool yellow. Yeah, I like the euro.

Honestly, I probably would recommend them over the extra fifty box for that. Um I have this year time. I don't care as much. The barrier y is really good on this. I've I D really good barrier life on them. I think I I have this weird relationship with nothing, your buds where I love them and don't really like them at the same time.

So what do you love? What do you not like about them?

I mean, my two favorite things, and one of this is super situation, as they fit perfectly in my years, which I think is the most important thing with any earbuds, which sometimes makes you really hard to shop your buds. They also have touch controls where you cannot accidentally press them when you're requesting in your years at all. So the touch controls are all on the stack, just like the odds, nothing but like they're always been.

Um the downside of the touch control is to turn into transparency mode still goes. And as the words in the world, yeah does ound, but I really hate when you're like trying to tap your year bot back in because he feels like it's to lose in a new position ong or play a song song um so like that a lot. I think there's sound good. I'm sure they don't send anywhere is more expensive, your buds, the battery life is great. Like the new case, it's smaller.

The cases shaped like a pill box. Just say, no, it's it's what the design and inspiration .

yeah and the fall print overall doesn't look that much different than the other case, but it's one of those things. The shape of IT is way Better. But like it's it's wider, but IT fits in your pocket way Better.

Kind like airports fit really nice in your pocket. And what I don't like about them when A N. C is working, IT is fantastic. Like I have been mowing the one and i've been like for like ten minutes, and i'll be like, did I turn the blades on? I can't hear any like, I can't hear IT holy.

Did I remember to turn the bi even come right? And then I like, hit a stick or something loud outside happens, and I feels like I just reset all the noise cancelling, and then I can hear everything is. And if it's a really, really hyped ched, I don't know exactly what that is. But we walking if the strings hit the fence IT does this like peking, like screeching noise.

like in your ear, like I don't. They would like slightly slip out of my ear when I was running because they would get sweating. And I when I pushed them back in my ear, they're be a screeching sound that would happen.

It's it's really strange.

And I mean there's there's no way that one plus and nothing the same chip suppliers right maybe like you know the same cause apple have the same stuff.

Um yeah the transparency modes not that good. In fact, sometimes is really hard to tell whether transparency modes on or noise because when noise cancelling ings is not working well, kind of sounds, I can hear everything, everything. The only time I can kind of tell transparency mode is like if I moving enough where there's some wind getting in there, like it's just super loud wind and annoying and feels like I don't have a good so that's why I like really like these and and knowing that the noise cancer can be that good, but that I never actually is that good, is really frustrating. Yeah, they look so nice though i'm a big soccer for how good look I like.

feel nice. So those are replacing the nothing in stick.

Are they replacing .

the one now?

Okay, because I I said that on twitter and someone said they warn.

and then I said, H, I, in percent, that is replacing the years day.

Okay, yes, I don't like, I didn't like the ear stick, but I know there are people who don't like the .

silicon that they said when the year sticks, stocks runs out, which IT looks like on their website there. No no ger them. So yeah nothing tells us.

And then we had before the year two.

which are now just called the ear. Um so I guess they're just kind of doing the like it's the new one kind of bib you know new year, new me, new year new me so .

techy three of kind of yeah .

they didn't change a lot. They said the sound signature is Better, and they change the the sounds signature and you .

how they .

sign things.

Anyway, they have so remic drivers that used to be made of like plastic material, I guess, or something else um they said that that should increase the same quality by A D and they also like a bunch of controls in the phone where you can like tune IT a little bit more and you can only do that with the your the .

year and not there yeah there's very basic controls and a and I think it's more in the .

the regular when when they have uh L D H L D L H D C five point of support. Was that the R A do not but yeah, I don't know. I for me like the oil charging is pretty important because I have a lot of oil charges sitting around and i'd like that I can just when I get home, just plot my boss and wireless charges and literally never think about charging them. That's a big thing for me because like plaguing things in manually is frustrating to do every single day. I sounds like i'm really lazy.

but IT with you on that with my phone. I guess I just i'm not like a power user, but users so that doesn't make a huge .

I would say these have Better low end in the base and like kind of fullness is a little bit Better. But I still like how those sound like sounds great. Yeah I would I think they look Better. I think the case is cooler. I think almost everything about them is Better, but the sound quality is not quite as good and they don't have a charge.

So my thing with your boots like this is that i'm never using them for sound quality. So it's like, yeah, I just want the Better case. I want the Better features. I don't care if I want sound quality I have or I would get Better headphones.

you know yeah I humbly disagree .

that just because I think the airports pro to are like legitimate s like some of the best site head phones you can buy.

De rong.

you're wrong. You're wrong. Scientist, you wrong. Those like those digests are Better than anything else there.

way more than OK. We got some headphones to get through. We get more.

okay. So we got these recently, which are the bows like clip on earbuds. These are .

very weird. Love this.

They're kind of fire in the weird way. So i'm enough to take my headphones off to show you guys, but i'll tried to like, say, IT out loud. Basically you take them off, they clip like.

didn't know you could have the hearings? Magnetic .

hearings?

no. Are they used to make like a magnetic hearing that you could put on without actually getting european. So these are like the .

many two buds that magnetically have a clip around the back of your ear and then sit right above earlobe. Yeah, so that kind of looks somewhere between like your budget in your ear, and like earrings, maybe earrings, yeah, I don't know there.

Like hugs around you. So there's a part inside, but also hold on to the back side of your ear.

I honestly think they sound pretty and good.

They are everything the SONY linked buzz s ever wanted to be you. So they basically feel like open and open, open back headphones, a little can hear right now, but you cause, but when you pause IT. So when you posit you can hear me perfectly because it's transparent. It's like not covering your years at least that when .

you say you said least for me once .

you use that is basically like having a full transparency more yes, like fully like you can hear everything around you and if you play your music of basic .

transparency, yeah, i've been which the links buds were because I was essentially like a donor hall that would go in your ear and the music play around the outside. We still had a physical hall for extra sound, become interior.

This to me is more comfortable, yes, Better and works Better. Yeah, it's really, really good. Yeah, i'm impressed. They kind of start .

to hurt my ears a little bit after a little bit of time just because they're like literally clamping, carlo. I think people will probably have like mixed results on that. Um there's a three hundred dollars, so they sound really good, but you have to be a very specific type of customer to want these.

I would say bikers, I would say yeah people who yeah maybe yeah running I tried .

to running with this. I did not like IT really yeah because IT makes .

me really was bounce the yeah .

my Carol lege will have a word .

with you commuting, walk outside, just being out when you need transparency.

I think biking would be a good yeah finally good run yeah right other stuff we got we ve got the fair phone called the fair buds because we had the fair bud's XL last year that were the over year headphones. And then this year we have really for us giant normous case um pretty big ear buds.

This is right in line with the fair phone yeah pretty big.

Your buds that like stick out .

your your that's .

the wrong year a lot. I know you're IT or no IT was that is right? He says, right? Yeah.

the shape of the shape of that .

feels like a lot.

Yeah, it's quite .

a lot for parts.

fine. Um the main things you can replace in the fair buds is like all the batteries. You can replace the battery in the case, he can replace the batteries in the individual buds.

Um they sound fine. I IT said in their marketing was like, oh, for when your earbud dies and you can replace the Better. But i've never had an garbo die life same.

I have pretty much the .

bad every or the circuitry.

Maybe it's the first. Oh, so that's a good point. I don't know what I was, but i've had multiple nothing earbuds, which is also I have found hard to recommend them in the past where just I open in the case after not using them for bit and one year but won't charge. I said that I at least three i've got.

I feel like that's probably not that I could .

be the circuitry of just connecting IT and never charging you. But to me, IT might well be dead because yeah.

because those one plus buds that I used to use start working on my runs because I get like I would sweat a lot. And I feel at like just replacing the battery is not going to fix that. That's why this makes fair.

It's a strange it's like a strange proposition because that's not like the battery dying in a nearby at or a case is not something that happens to me very often. Usually the circuitry gets messed up so I don't know. Um but these are one hundred and forty nine years old, which is about one hundred and sixty two dollars, a little bit expensive, but they use a lot of sustainable materials. And I kind of staff in, if you like tinkering, you can technically take them like completely a bar if you want to so this is definite .

interesting conversation to be had about these as far as like reparable versus super durable.

Yeah I mean, there's always been this conspiracy theory with wireless your buds when everyone switched real a buds at the whole point was that you are always going lose one and you a whole new thing of them um or like apple will see you a single ipod, but IT costs like like sixty dollars or something like quite expensive. Um so I don't know I i've never lost like a single year, bud, but I know that that does happen to people there.

Enough last one. So you just came out. You actually probably know more about these and I do is not a lot new. Yeah yeah this is the beats solo, for they are on ear headphones, which traditionally I hate because they generally hurt my ears.

Some people have said a hybrid is the best of both worlds. This is the type that's truly the worst of both worlds. Me.

yeah, there's no active noise cancellation. Um but they are U S B C now or they didn't use to see there are microchips, insane mice, I think sorry, that be solo three I know I good. I think they are microchips can now play wired audio even when they're dead.

Which headphones always used to be able to play? And then for some reason that be solar three couldn't do like when they were dead, they couldn't play just over the, uh, audio jack, which is very weird. Now they can they have apple find my and android find my device support because the beats s brand is sort of apple is like we're also going to sell things to android users brand.

They've always done that. Like IT has the like instant pair thing. When you like, open them up in front of an like fast pair.

IT does all that stuff. Yeah um yeah. The arts started to hurt many years.

so that's nice.

They're very they are like pretty compact for headphones as as opposed to your birds. But yeah.

I think the case design is really knowing it's kind of a pain to take them out of and put them back in the case. Um you can dream a cable there and yes, they are U S B C. And yes, the last ones were micro sb. And they just update.

I haven't tested them .

long enough to figure this out, but um the package said fifty year battery, I find IT and then the piece of paper inside said forty hour battery life on IT. So that's something to consider. But I guess but yeah, they have my sports great. Their beats men. Yeah, you guys think the beats s brand .

actually still has any poll whatsoever.

I think they are still oh yeah.

I think they still have such a like in store presence, a brand name like going on best bye or whatever is gonna go get some twelve year old some headphones like what do they want? Probably have heads or beats.

It's kind of the headphones which apple both took the standard.

People want a air port, yeah, yeah. But I still think beats .

so over your headphones, the only options where reports are five hundred fifty dollars. So you know there is that are there .

replacing those this year or next year?

I hope soon. I hope like two years ago.

there a place within on button and U, S, B, C.

please.

And just a maybe .

lighter and working.

yeah, they break so easily. Anyway, that was our headphone around up. If you think we missed any significant your budget that came out recently, let us know.

I don't think people who work on beds have even met people who work for apple.

Probably not. They are. They work for apple. But yeah that yeah .

that was the most like acquired and then don't talk anymore and acquisition i've ever seen.

They just had to like email and be like, can we have find me on this?

And I yeah and I was going .

to say they use apple silicon. So I don't see why would be that? I know I don't know .

if then they don't do any of the maybe because they're protecting air products.

They actually, if you use this with an iphone, there is spac audio.

Yeah I was going to say, yeah and I think .

there so it's kind of the same.

If you work for beats, send us an email podcasts at M K B H 点 com and let us know if the apple engineers let .

you eat lunch at the same table。

Jimmy.

if you're watching. Yeah I don't actually want to talk to gb. I you're like .

you can say .

Jimmy or .

yeah and the cofounder .

of inner scope.

That's actually no, I take that back to me.

I'd love to talk.

barkers I want, I want two comments. Somebody has to write pigeon and someone is right morning dove. And then like the one the bird you like more be the two top comments of our episode pigeon, team pigeon or team morning.

They got morning you receive at night. Uh next question um I received a chAllenge from our three host come up with a trivial question involving both microsoft and birds. So in two thousand and ten, during the lead up to the release of windows phone seven, microsoft landed in hot water, including a bird themed APP, in their advertising that, according to its developer, had not yet been ported to windows phone. What APP was IT? I've .

found that really funny. The microsys, yeah, we got IT and they were like, why would we make our windows phone APP B.

P, M by google?

Drop can google assistant?

snapshot? Loon, oh, that's a bird. Loon.

No, I don't forget it's coming up next.

Maybe did you pit me? Alice, forget.

I didn't forget .

there's a .

bonus trafic question or there is one that was before the the angry birds one. What is the x and x box stand for?

IT was just this weird dog in A B, I, and the guy that was an onion.

Hey, it's lee from the koto with new IP top, we spent a lot of time talking about some of the most important people in taking business about what they're putting resources to and why they think it's so critical for the future. That's why we're doing this special series, diving into some of the most unique ways companies are spending money today.

For instance, what does that mean to start buying and using A I at work? How much is that costing companies? What products are they buy? And most importantly, what are they doing with IT and of course, podcasts? Yes, the thing you listening to right now, well, it's increasingly being produced directly by companies like venture capital firms, investment funds and a new crop of creators who one day want to be investors themselves.

And what is actually going on with these acquisitions this year, especially in the A I space, why are so many big players in tec deciding not to acquire and instead license tech, hire away cofounder? The answer, IT turns out, is a lot more complicated than that. Seems you'll hear all that and more this month. I'm decoder with your life Better presented by strike.
