What does that? People of the internet. Welcome back to another episode of the way from podcast back to regularly scheduled format where your host markets, i'll and David, as you can tell, is currently not here. He's out is I think he's .
taken some pictures.
some previous of those but in case episode we have A A little bit of twitter versus threads thoughts is IT around two.
We've definitely talk about them .
once feels like a lot of a second wave of tears yeah yeah. But we also have a little bit of hyper not game to play at the end. So he is not a full game show episode.
but we still have. We ve done that before. I think people like this is a lot of fun to just like speculate about things that are maybe too hype or not have enough.
Yeah, I like playing hyper is not high games yeah but for we did, we traveled.
we did. You did something pretty cool, had had a right. So you want to it's got the open.
the open, the open. And the couple days before the open, with something called the open invention OK, first time we've ever done IT. So some you guys, mayor may not know this, but i'm a golfer. I've been a golf fer for. And I actually someone asked me this.
I heard i've been .
a golfer for twenty years.
Isn't IT wild that we are at a point our life. You can say you've done something i've been snowboard for like twenty three years at this point and I thought about that .
like that's we are to say but yeah, i've been golfing for twenty years uh, i'm not as good as you would think as someone old when you say when you say aloud that you ve been doing something for twenty years, you think you're really good. I did. I'm not.
I've been playing on and off and obviously we have our self that we do but uh, my first love, my first sport. So IT was super cool to be able to play on the golf course that is in championship condition because the open, the major is being play there, uh, basically as we speak. And IT was actually sort of A A practice round day.
So a lot of the pro showed by water security right in front of film. Michael son put on the putting Green with them. And IT was like a new event to sort of hyped up a little bit.
So IT was a sort of a teams format and a bunch of invited sort of celebrity guest people. Uh and we play to scramble and we played the whole course and I was amazing. This is one.
And we know that also ah outside what there's nothing like first t jeter when there's there's first t gitter in like any sport where you like first drive and like hit your first shot or hit the the court for the first time, take a first shot, but when you're not used to play in front of a crowd, the amplifier of like people watching you, you don't get to appreciate on T V. How many people there are and how close they are to you. You can hear people motor things under their breath.
It's that close to you. And they're been watching the shot, working professionals the whole day shots. And we walk up, sorry, this is going to be a little worse than that, but no was sick. He came on the tail end of a little double header in coloradan solid that we also won both games that also some.
And you can watch, you can watch that. I was life stream great. I just skin through and tried to watch all of your shots. And I don't know golf, but they like .
pretty the anners. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I ay OK. Obviously we we had a great team. Shut out to Catherine SHE, the best player of the entire, yeah, he had a sick shot.
Uh, SHE hold out for eagle on the last hole in front of the whole crowd was unreal. So yeah, go watch that will beyond to be put that link in the show. If you want to check IT out, you also went on your.
and I want to do, I want to grant national park in your national park. And I was like, beautiful tons of animals. I posted some photos, some really crazy wild d life photos. I never thought I be able to get in my life. Couple 我, i'm actually making a video for the studio channel right now. I'm kind of about some of the tech that I like to bring because I talk about hiking way too much on the lets get IT all in one videos so I can maybe shut up about IT for like a few .
months and then I get all the gear .
of the nursing out of exactly yes, so that that will be up there soon. But we also just posted another video on the studio channel that was like a total bank er from Alice, his first solo hosted video. You want to tell little bit about IT? No, okay.
still watch IT get something.
It's really good. It's really funny and really insightful. I like. But the week I was supposed to be on vacation, I missed a little bet that you guys had and adam, just supose ted on shorts. S, and I wanted to kind of get in on this because I but yeah, okay, so I think the bet was twenty five non employees received delivery by the end of twenty twenty three.
Yeah, well, that actually happened. I say, yes. Everyone else said, no.
I'm going to agree with you on this son actually. Which.
thank you.
Come on, hit the buzz I know you're looking for.
Yeah, i'm talking.
So yes, I I grew with you. I still think you'll be like under one hundred. I think it's going to be a very small amount. I don't think it's going to be a lot.
So we're all excited about IT everyone on twitter like, oh my god, it's coming but it's got announce in twenty and nineteen like, oh yes, no, no, I know you're not. I just need to say like we're excited but like, man, this thing was out there and I was just thinking like how many other E. V. Pick up trucks i've come out since that since I got announced and just like the we they thought they were gonna have in the pick up space and how much they blew that little .
way is very really interesting. I don't know how much I thought I would matter that they were first to be an E V pickup truck like, yes, riva came out like before them and that was very thing as they were the first E. V. Pick up truck basically. And I don't know how much IT helps to be the first one if it's one hundred thousand dollars and then the f one fifty lightning comes out and I am seeing a lot of them on the road and it's an effort and fifty, so this should be popular. But the cyber truck also had, I don't know how many I will google at how many million periods are there for the cyber truck.
Uh, I mean, a hundred dollar refundable also report is like a weird, which for the tesla is a great little four year interest for one they get. Yeah, yeah. I do think IT, I kind of think IT is pretty important, especially if you're not a company known for doing pickup truck. So I think the fact that riving got in there first probably helped living in quite a bit to be able to say first E, V pick up is. And then when ford comes out, like, you know, people who are ford loyal are going to go for IT.
Yeah, had a tonet people and we are talking afford about like tons of people, period. Everyone, fifty lightning. And for many of them, IT was their first truck.
And for many of them, IT was their first ford. And so just like getting an evy just changes the equation for a lot of people. So yes, I think cyber truck is still going to come out in this a sort of newish age of evs. And yeah, I think it's going to have an impact IT kind reminds me of a hot take that i'm going to talk about in a hot take, which I can't want to spoil a little bit because I think it's one of the funny this one just OK one of the hot takes that um i'm an addressed in the video with a little more precision than this is someone said the cyber truck is going to outsell the f one fifty by twenty twenty six.
Can I confirm the f one fifty or the f one fifty lighting .
the f one fifty? I did the same thing. That .
person is .
optimistic. I would .
say that person is, I don't even know a nice .
way to say that one of the dumas take years OK. Think of IT this way. If you're a tesla fan and you see this is that i'm going to the most optimistic route, right? okay.
There's a million and a half period of the cystic right now, right? Let's say they started shipping at the end of this year and they make them all in the first two years. And by the time they start making them the third year, they have another million people order.
So by twenty twenty six, they shipped all the preorders and they're going to make another million new orders that would put IT on pace to match the f 15。 Now the chances that they actually ramp up production and fast and sell all the ones and nobody councils and they sell all the ones they made and make another million orders, very, very low. But the f one fifty cells, like six hundred and nine hundred thousand every single year.
And it's the most successful vehicle in america, if you're saying is going to overtake the most successful of vehicle for the past forty years running in three years. You're an optimist and it's probably a hot take. And I like that is hot, but it's probably .
not gonna en, just yeah there's I just don't think there's shot that that happens. I mean, it's it's four years of priority, right? That and even that is barely what ford actually cells.
Honestly, I think that most of the period or happened in the first year.
I do think so also, but that's why I don't see that getting finished an except more coming. And like you hate a very huge part of the ones that you think you're going to sell, those aren't all going to sell and then you're not going to get a higher influx. One should actually comes out, especially with no R N T four of one fifty lightning all say the the hammer pickup truck.
But like I don't think that much and the silver to is already getting test driven by journalists now. So like point of I think that comes out probably around the same time. And there's a lot there's other options at this point.
Get the lord town.
The video of version. Sorry for that. I don't actually mean .
that there's we were talking this morning because I wanted to say it's interesting how many pick up evs got announced and delivered since the cyber truck got announced. And I thought the revision was announced after, but that was actually a year before, before the cyber c, which I didn't realize. And I think that just kind of goes to prove that when you're an E V company, no one knows about and you're none truck, no one takes seriously because to me, until the revision started like showing up, I didn't really take them seriously so this lords down stuff like, yeah no part of me considers this a thing that i'm going ever see until I started actually seeing.
That's totally fair. I think the difference is with riva, IT was their first ever vehicle and so it's hard to take anything they do serious yeah until they start chipping the first. Oh yes. And that's true about for the future and that's true about lawyers time and that's true about so many others. But why I think it's different with tesler is is not their first radio and which is why when I see them starting to test meals and roll around camoys versions of IT IT seems like they're actually rapping up to something real or the others.
I could never prove that yeah I agree. I think you clarified what I met. There is more like these new E, V companies as there. Just first, E V in general, like this has been around for a longer, but it's also been four years. So maybe I shouldn't have given them .
as much trust as I think I may be. It's impossible to make simple .
stamp that so many fleet, they can just stamp out a bunch of them. That's why the designs like that man, like nothing.
This thing is, is a six thousand pounds with elective motors.
And true, think it's weird because I keep hearing this about the cybernetic but like the homer E V and the riva are both over seven thousand. I pears yes, it's a and it's admittedly, it's not sharp on the corners where that's definitely a difference. And I don't know how that plays into these tests or whether IT will get pull.
IT also has crumple zone, the cyber truck, the really big on the fact that like this thing won't crumble, it'll just go through that .
having a front.
whatever you.
which is good for the occupant, but not whatever .
you is good for the occupant in the right, assuming you just do go clean through. But remember that the whole point of a crumble .
zone is to slow down.
It's to send energy around the vehicle past the passenger compartment. So there is a very realistic chance that your truck will be perfectly fine and you will be like a chef. boy. R, D, can in this, like the windows .
are bulletproof, so you won't go through. You don't know.
I feel like I should say before the test of always come out too late. The model three in the model s are some of the safest cars money can buy.
big, biggest couple zones.
And yeah, the N H T S A says, like those are at the top of the chart. So maybe they have got some trick or leave. But to me, this just seems like they should make this illegal to drive around schools right there. There's no way any great scholars could survive getting hit by a test, a truck which is so high .
off the ground they couldn't see them anyway.
I don't know how side of E, V, the trucks, and like S, U, V S, were driving in america, so dangerous towards pedestrians everywhere and we let them drive all the time. Like I just don't see anyone actually stopping the cyber truck is being any more dangerous, says these. The amount of times i've almost been like clipped on the side of a sidewalk in town because some .
lifted pick up truck and yeah in in the city and were in like a denali or ukon excel or something and just like writing and like we are we are things of the road, right? Doesn't sane.
There's so high and they have such a big front and like front grill and everything is hard to see over. And if you're in the blindspot of them, it's dangerous. Ah yeah, fine.
let's put a blade on IT.
Yeah, let's make IT go zero to sixty and three seconds and hand drive.
This is why the hammer was hilarious. When I came out, I was like the homer, nine thousand pound massive refrigerator of a vehicle can also do as zero to sixty and three seconds. How does that make anything?
I think the only reason i'm more scared of the cyber truck is just I know they'll be more of them on the road um where's the homey v like I think it's a pretty niche vehicle. So not as but like if I saw homey v on the highway, I probably pull over, take a break and just like a way for that thing to be far away for where I am.
That's fair. Yeah, we'll see. We'll see if the deliveries happen and and then if they reverse the deliveries, we'll have to come back to that bed.
Yes, but I stand. It's not I don't think it's coming out this year. I'm really done right.
well. I think that's a good spot to take a quick break. We ve got a lots to talk about with threads and twitter. But of course, before we do breaks, it's time for trivia.
Started the season all fresh. What number season .
is IT three? Is that .
this season three .
especially?
Okay, you want season to um you also want season one. So sick. okay. First question coming from Alice.
All right. So I was reading on the internet as one does, and I found out that you can wake up a computer from sleep using just the internet. You want to be at the same room.
In order to do that, you send a very particular message to the target computer to wake you up. A very silly name. That's why it's trivia question. What is the name of that message?
This is multiple choice here.
I need multiple choice.
This one, you know.
i'll make up some choice. I would say I mostly wanted because I want to hear your made up versions.
you know, just off the done right now.
okay?
Number one, a stop. S, T O M P, these are all acratus. Number two, wap, W, O M P. Number three clump. A number four alarm wildt.
I'm .
impressed .
by the author done. I have a feeling some of them right? Yeah.
that helps a little bit. I'll be brainstorm on that through the break. Answers are at the end, as usual, would be at that.
Okay, I have to tell you, I was just looking on ebay where I go for all kinds of things I love.
And there IT, was that hologram trading card. One of the rare is the last one I needed for my set.
shiny, like the designer handbag of my dreams, one of a kind. Ebay had IT, and now everyone's asking, we live. Ebay has all the people that my are no more knowing, just beautiful.
Whatever you love, find IT on ebay. Ebay things people love. The volvo cars experience is a letter fine with a range of fully electric models driven by design with google wilton and impressive performance go from zero to sixty miles per hour in four point seven seconds with volvo o fully electric vehicles visit bobble cards that comes less. U. S.
To learn more. I were back. Ah so we've been using twitter for years, yes, and we've been using matters threads for about two weeks now.
Two weeks. Do you call matter all the time? I talk office.
but I do have to remember to call me to and sometimes I don't. I just say facebook, but he does say, like when you have the splash screen so reminded of IT ah yeah we have a lot of thoughts. I have a lot I ve been using both which you various intense in and I think you can see the waves now if things happening with each of them yeah I don't want we are saying it's like the second wave, but almost like the fourth wave.
Like the first wave was the date launched, which was in the midst of a trough with twitter because I had like the rate limit scandal and all things happening, and then threads launches and explodes, right? And there has tons of people joining, tons of engagement. You can consider that the first wave, okay, even though there was like that zero wave of, like all the free released story reality that out, then the second wave was like, alright, it's sort of stabilized for like four, five days in seven million, hundred million users are right. We're here.
What do we do now? And then twitter on the other side is like a little bit quiet than usual. And you're not looking around twitter like interesting. I feels like this last post happening, but also a day .
off is a lie. Why anyone on the .
world today, like tumble's, gone across. And then the third wave was then suddenly, like all of the here I am, engagement farming posts happening on threads, and then all of all the like, threats versus twitter talk. And then I feel like the fourth wave is now twitter flips to swooshed, turns on a motivation features, starts writing a bunch of checks.
And like literally the other day there is a post from atomic sy that they had to turn on rate limits because suddenly as a bunch of spam happening and they need to actually slow that down. And so now it's sort of equalizing. And obviously, the Spike and engaged at the beginning is what you'd expect to see.
Yeah, but it's never going to hold up to that level. But IT is at a different place. So there's a lot to go over with where we see both of these platforms going.
Yeah the the last time we talked about IT was by the time episode came out that launched that had happened. But when we were talking about we were just basing IT off of year like day before the release and talking there. So like we haven't really covered the whole step, the process that you just mentioned, all the waves. So do you want to really quickly go over how you've been using threads and .
you thought about so far? So IT launched and there's always just that like fun first couple days of something new where you just play around with its our poking around you know I think I I tag just random people I tag mark cuban said can be, I guessed on shark name and he was like, yeah let me get back to on I like I tag this suck in a feature request and he was like that it's on the list like just kind of poking around and seeing this happening and things are all moving and colorful and exciting um .
it's fun that that part is fun like everybody is just like what do we do here yeah and like it's the difference, I think of that is what we've talked about many times before is that the user base is so important. All of these like we all deal with this on blue sky and t two and master on. But now within was IT, not twenty four hours. Threads already had more than .
probably all combined.
So like, you get experience this like, hey, this is kind of meat. Yes, everyone's nice. What do we do? Like walking into a .
party and like so many people you know are there and like, wow, oh, you're here too oh, oh, you're all here. That's crazy. What what we talking about?
What are we doing here? And you're so excited you don't get into like toxic health, cape arguments, regular twitter thread and just nice for like a week .
yeah I think then once you've gotten over the hump of like right roll here, roll trying to do stuff, then it's like what do we post here? And and this is from someone who posts on social media for a living. And like, do I post the same things that i'm posted in other places, or do they not belong here? I saw the beginning so many, you know, so much emphasis from the founders about things like conversations and and just text posts.
And it's it's called thread. It's literally just like text threads. People talk to each other. So I kind of assumed that had mostly just be using IT, like twitter and like text threads, not a lot.
I I didn't post on the youtube blanks, so isn't thinking about posting any photos or videos even they still can technically. But then the question is, like why I just posted some short form video on instagram? Do I also posted on bread? Is I like double posting? I posted on twitter.
Maybe I post on bread and twitter, but not instagram or real shorts. I don't know. It's kind of just a weird there's a thought process now to IT, so that's in the back of my head the whole time. But and also I do find that fun to engage with shorts because IT does for me still feel like IT has the second fastest engagement rate of any social network behind instagram.
Sorry, threads are are o yes.
So like on instagram, if I post something within ten minutes, there's over one hundred comments, there's probably ten thousand likes. And you can see just chaos activity happening where that's very different. On twitter was a shorts.
Youtube shorts has almost the opposite, like A A low two day burn before he has the shorts feed and then takes off. So shorts is just threads is just interesting. You just like poke around and and reply to something and just see how fast you can talk to people on threads before .
the threads over a from that first week, like despite having wildly like less people on the platform and less followers than like twitter that I had like the engagement I was getting felt kind of crazy. I think just everyone was so excited to beyond they were around and a lot more they were replying all over the place. There is engagement everywhere. Everyone was like, oh, shoe, I didn't realize you're on here yet. Like, yeah.
what's up? Did you follow? The did you follow? Everyone that you follow and grammer, did you did you follow separate people?
It's unna it's it's more along the lines of the people who I follow on twitter because instagram to me is still in the slow move over of more of my like personal life verses this like social media work life, if I guess um and on threads I found a really interesting because a lot of people that I do know in my personal life on instagram I don't have twitter were creating threads and then you get to see yeah just some other stupid that's what I love about just like very short text base post is like you can just have one random thought and that thought can be familiar and they .
make that the most peer like early version of twitter it's I love IT so much lead from your phone yeah and you can just like one hundred a text message yeah just one hundred forty just a blur with a thought yeah that's kind of how starts. And I think now you're seeing like the the people who are here to get engagement here to figure out like how to turn this into a page. There's the linked in brows showing up like trying to optimize and like to all things like you expect that with any new shows even though it's not manutius able directly. Yeah, it's still you expect that.
That was kind of the fun part of the beginning. I was like when that happened, people like, no, get that off. No, this platforms fun right now. Get the ground set crap off here. Like you black that mute.
And I think like, like you said, one of the biggest issues of IT of the beginning, or you didn't say, but this is what you tweet at. I think adam responded to you about just having an actual front page with the people. You follow random people and they did say they're working on IT, which is i'm a little worried it's going to be which is similar to twitter netware. That's not going to be your main. You're going have to swipe into .
IT as a secondary. That is always fascinating to me because every social media has to have some baLance of this where you follow people because you want to see what they post. But in order for them to be successful and keep you engaged, they need to be giving you new things.
It's like a spotify, like we have the music that we want to listen to. But there's also like if you hit shufu, it's going to just tell some some music you've ever heard before going to do in some explore weekly forever. And that's what tiktok is got.
Tiktok is probably the far into the scale. You know you really check out, you follow, most people don't check. The follow is just the for you page. And on the other side, maybe it's closer like twitch or youtube back in the day I only washed to I subscribe you, but now it's mostly home page things. They recommend .
youtube getting closer to that tiktok side where like i'm watching people that I realized i'm not subscribed you because i'm just so consistently .
getting fed their stuff that enjoy staying. M, I be like people you follow on the post that they make with the photos now is just like token stuff in my feet. Obviously the exploit page and real is giving your new stuff.
S on now their pushing towards that. So now thread shows up. And of course, we're following a bunch of people. We're engaging with a match of stuff. But yeah the home pages full of people you don't follow. And so as a paris, I want just a list of people I follow in the things that they post because that's why i'm here. I just joined threads to follow twelve people um but they don't even have a following count for people. They just show you the home page and you can follow people on the home page but it's constantly pushing your new stuff and that's just the way socialism twenty twenty three and I guess it's call that it's on .
our but I can't adult is very high on their list yeah h IT or it's not going to be like a default instagram you can do only following chonodemaire. It's not even like twitter, you just swap over. It's like a drop down menu yeah which yeah you have to do every time you open the apple yes.
which my suspicion is that will never be the default.
I totally agree with that. Yeah, I did. sorry.
Quick question. When do you think they're gona add ads.
ads? Because I think a big part .
of why people like IT right now, because there's no ads.
it's very pure with no ad.
I think meta has the bank role to be able to roll this for a little bit without ad, and I think that's probably the smartest decision to eventually don't ads and make a tone of money on IT. Um but they I think we all can probably agree they push this pretty quickly in a very opportunistic ent with what was going on with twitter. So why not completely capitalize .
on twitter?
Maybe I feel like they are ready like I think I think they did a lot of the things. They are still definitely I don't mess the stop mode.
I think yeah the pressure is stay on yeah um like I think twitter .
can have a bad week and it's fine. But if you have a really good couple of months in a row on threads and it's the activity still going and like you didn't rule in IT with ads yet, then you start to really think about like iri, we're actually taking real meaningful market share. We're actually changing the landscape of social media. Then maybe you started thinking about, okay, we'll do a little bit ads here .
and there yeah and there there's a benefit to being having multiple different social media sites and products that are making money. And then one, being able to lose some versus spending forty four billion dollars immediately, having the worth of that and then having to turn and make up for all the loans that you take. You have .
also like burning money in V, R. And A R. So like they .
need something to give them money. And the okay.
So the next question, how long until google makes one gu, everyone with a gmail already gets an account. You just bring IT over.
I do you remember how many things google plus did to like google plus was ahead of its time for real? Google plus, which I used for every year, was out, as i've mentioned many times, for but like german, but when there's a plus plus one button on everything on google search.
there are still like i'll still see some trucks with advertisements on them that will still show their social .
media links. And you'll be like a google goo on youtube. They forced everyone to turn their profile into a google plus account, so you could only like, you could plus one comments, plus one video OS share IT to your circles.
They forced all of that like the same way that we got this like nice plug with instagram for threats to take off. They did that with google search and youtube. So the fact that, that doesn't exist more is a pretty good indicator that you can't really force your way into IT.
It's got to be good. But like gool, goll tried gool did try. So yeah, they tried .
like fourteen years .
ago and I told you remember when they did that and like being however .
old I was like a child and like watching the phillip of franco video where he's like going over like, yeah, there's making everyone sign up hubble plus and I were just childhood. Me being like this is an outside yes, like affected me at that IT IT .
seem .
like a turning point on the internet because google had that kind of power. We're like if you got a lot of plus ones on your site that would specifically improve your search ranking. And I had an an incentive to be strong on google plus .
that was the game unification of that would be out .
of this world more than seo right now, like they should just go back to that.
And that'll be, again, the way that you were. People just turning IT into a total mess by defying everything. I mean.
google never said specifically what how much of a percentage of the google plus thing had to ranking. But IT became very clear that, like you wanted to be strong on google plus, you want to be the most plus one thing on your search page to get you to the top.
you were the second most plus one thing.
aren't you maybe I don't know. I was one of I was one of the accounts that they suggested you follow when you joined. That's also so that was pretty solid.
And yeah, I was pretty cool. Um so yeah, I don't know. I I do think the the instagram pole is very strong, but I don't think the growth phases over yet.
I still think they have to the they're still in don't mess this up mode. And as people poke around and find what to do, they can add the features that people seem to want the most. Yeah they're .
definitely in like a you know they they had their high of like everybody joining right away and now it's gonna dip a little bit and exactly what you said, don't screw this up so that dip doesn't go too far down and that did its steady off and then they start slowly rising again. Yeah um I did find one thing this is funny.
I think I found one thing that I think threads can do that twitter and instagram can't do except when I try to do IT didn't work. So let me explain. I was at the airport, and I think the reason this didn't work is just because of poor airport wifi.
That's why didn't pose. But if you think about IT, thread is the only place that you can post more than four images that don't all get automatically crop to square. Because once you add more than two photos on instagram and a gallery, IT auto crops IT into a square, and you can only do four photos on twitter.
So I took all these different pictures in different aspect ratio and portrait landscape. I was cropping them, and I wanted to post all the photos I took on my trip. And I could do that on threads, except that I just kept fAiling to post in the airport wifi and IT didn't actually go through.
So some things like that feel like features when I think really they're just not yet pruned, like they're gonna definitely limit that yet, I think so yeah, they kind of the same. It's made up like they are gonna probably find a way to compressed more efficiently. I'm going to find ways to like reduced the management with you need to use to post and maybe if everyone's you saw a David just posting who's had these huge panoramas and land take up your entire phone?
I wish you was here. Like, so we talk about this because I feel like that is something he would enjoy. IT is finites not taking ten square pictures at once and wants to post more than so. Yeah, sure. That would if IT works.
work well. Yes, he's giving you that IMAX experience on threads you know longer .
than your phone. You can only view IT on a Sunny experience yeah actually exactly um before we get into twitter and what they are doing, I twitter had to have been if we step back to wave one here, there's something a little peculiar about if you posted and these threads links on twitter that I I think is pretty obvious and just very funny, but IT was clearly suppressing, right? Like I think I have A A lecture here of your timeline. You posted something that just says it's actually impressive how bad theory is eight point four million impressions on twitter next post for some threads and the link to your threads link two hundred thousand impressions. And then another video of a Carrier iphone, one point one million impression.
Interesting yeah I I don't think you will be a shocked to anyone then covered just the word threads or any threads that yeah there are definitely not show on out to people that whether show other things to people not shocked by that, I don't honestly, this is like a part of social also where I think when you post a lot of social media and you're trying to optimize all your content, you're like, what do these platforms scientific? And how can I write those waves on twitter or on any website? Like on youtube, they do not like you sending people to external websites, period.
So on youtube, if you have a really popular link at the top of your description, and that link is sending people somewhere like, I remember this to do a give away videos. And a lot of people would use like, uh, give way hosting service what I like lean and there will be a link at the top. And those videos were always born really, because you're sending people off the site, youtube going, wow, we don't like this video, this video sending people off of youtube and so you do this massive giveaway. But IT would get like attempted Normal traffic.
do you know another good example of that is um doesn't shorts have a thing that seize if the tiktok logo isn't IT because they don't want you to just take your exact tiktok video that .
also shows a link to how you follow them on tiktok? A of the .
I yes yeah. Not sure if there was short of real.
Sometimes if real sees a tiktok logo I when everyone knows about but i'm also pretty sure like if youtube sees a tiktok, they don't want to push that there yeah that's a fact.
It's very funny funny that threads has an immediate share to twitter, but which is just like i'm sharing especially they might tweet on a different road to twitter but yeah .
but let's talk .
about twitter.
Yeah twitter twitter wants you some stuff. Twitter had that like sort of a quiet couple days. You know, I felt like I felt new york city after the hurricane after hurricane, like two days, and I was like that it's GTA.
Ah I think there was a cloud flared thing trying to show that like twitter traffic did actually tank for a little bit. I don't even know how active that would represent everyone twitter experience. But if you use twitter every day, you probably notice this this stuff happening IT came back.
A lots of random things keep happening at twitter. And then one big thing that happened as they started doing payout ts for. A verified users who are in like a revenue sharing program.
Yeah, essentially, if you now get a portion of the revenue that is created through the ads that are only posted inside your replies. So i'm sure we have all notice that replies on twitter of ads now very annoying, but I get IT. Um so those specific ads will now benefit the creator that IT gets posted under.
I waited a to my subscribe on twitter. So if you are subscriber on my twitter, you saw this A A week or two ago, but I got a screen shot because I just like got a pop up when I open twitter one day. This, congrats at M, K, B, H, D as your share of ads revenue in replies, you're receiving six thousand, six hundred ninety eight dollars.
Your portion will be deposited into your stripe connected within the next seventy two hours. Thanks for being created on twitter and you just hit, okay, and that's IT. There's no analytics.
There's no this is in the last thirty days. This is there's no like here's the tweet that generated due the most or like any information, this is the only information of gotta about this. And I can go into my analytics and try to find more, and go into my stripe account, try to find more.
Almost nothing but interesting. But everyone got this .
screen shot of like, oh, i'm gonna get paid for my tweet, I guess.
yes. So let's some questions that sounds like you can really answer them. So my fake, there is a bunch of people, and some people are getting paid a lot of money. I saw multiple les, over ten thousand dollars. But one interesting thing here is a my two main questions are one IT says that this is retroactive back to the february when I was announced.
So if you think about that, this isn't just like thirteen, six month that makes a lot of which is a lot which you under why a lot of these are very big. Do you have a separate payment for subscriptions? Yes, IT is separate. So that is not .
include red in this. This is different and it's also through stripe, but that this amount, this thing that popped up with separate from subscriptions.
subscriptions is already been happening.
IT has a pair in a totally different.
It's the same way, but it's this is not good. So that does actually help that I was wondering and some of these numbers are seeing are crazy yeah.
to go. I saw Jimmy, jim, mr. Be exposed ted.
One I think you would do the same thing you posted first subsidies. So sure, Jimmy. But yeah, I was the same thing .
is like twenty five thousand dollars.
I think I thought I out yeah yes.
that's like six months worth of so you you're looking at maybe a thousand a month.
basically yeah so you do them after six months.
six thousand yeah I mean not much to just .
share your random to do the s of ads showing up under tweet all the time that like basically I think that moment on twitter where IT was like, oh, if I am a part of this program, I am incentivize to post more and use twitter more because I will be paid more accordingly.
And anytime that moment happens on a social media platform that changes the landscape of IT forever, like every time that ever happened yeah now to different extents like when that happened with tiktok, IT was a creator fund and people didn't really make that much money. So I didn't change IT that much. But when youtube got the partner program and sorted revenue sharing, that inflections point change youtube forever. yeah.
So twitter finally getting this moment and we don't have any details about like what are rpms? What are is IT of shrinking pile of money? Is IT as a percentage? Like what is even happening, we don't really know. But the fact that happened at all was enough for people to sort of come back to twitter and start talking about IT and figuring that out.
Yeah and there's some core parts of IT. You do have to be tried to twitter blue, but I actually don't think that's the pic of a deal of its eight month and you're probably going to make if you are somebody making obviously over a dollars a month, right? IT pays for itself.
That's kind of nice. The one question I saw people have was he says you need five million impressions over the last three months. And two things here.
One, do you have to keep that trick? Do you always have to have three stripe months of five million to do that? And then I also included this tweet on here, which will show on the screen, and i'll read out loud.
But someone named john cross, I I think we've talked to him for the podcast before. He takes a photos of like space ecs and like rocket launches. His his impressions are Hillary ous.
When you look at them, verses having to have a three month k of five million, because he goes january six point seven million, february five point three million, march four million in April seventy four million, may nine million or june four point nine million. So wouldn't hit IT there and july one hundred and one million. So if that's what IT was, he's well averaging over five million.
But he does not have the streak of, but potentially doesn't have the street. I mean, this is a very kind of people that does happen to, but that would be super unfortunate, paul. One hundred and one million.
And I think IT should be. I guess, if I was going just by the youtube model, you just have to get the streak once and then you're in the program. IT would be hard to imagine getting seven million impressions in a month and just not being in the program like pretty quickly. But no, it's hard to tell .
my other worry. And I saw this a lot of people saying this is, does this potentially incentivize people to steal more content on twitter and post themselves verses, retweet or linking to original sources?
Like why would you link to a youtube video that might not get as many clips when you can clip to youtube video and upload yourself? It's obviously to go a bunch of copyright things now, which I think you already is a parent on twitter, just not as enforced as youtube. And now you're potentially making money. Like why would you like what I wrong on that?
No, no. I was just like that's a really soft. There's whole movies.
It's like track one.
two and three just like like the supermarkets movie was in and on twitter at the same time.
You like this is reminding me of like the kick website. They're just like come over streaming super. You just know that's not going to work for very long, right? And they're already starting to like all these big people that went over there and like I thought, we can watch movies like, no, it's not the wild west. It's the internet still there. That's exactly right.
So this is why IT feels like twitter. And i've been telling people like twitter, never, I have any contact twitter like, please communicate more like people need to know what the rules are. And at this point, we don't know most of these rules like the on youtube, for example, we know about the copyright system.
We know about how to get into the partner program, what the requirements are. And then once you're in, how works, you get all the analytics and the revenue sharing information so you can optimize wherever you want based on known info on twitter. None of that is really communicated at all. So people to community turns out. But like this would be super useful information for this whole inflection point to have the most impact. But as of right now, yeah feels like, yeah there is gonna people who just go oh, more twitter activity equals more money okay, let's just post constantly and steal bunch stuff and post more because IT doesn't seem to be rules that specifically enforce that where when you do to find them then you get Better .
answers to yeah and I think like a pretty good example of even past like like videos are pretty obvious you're copyright or like audio, it's pretty obviously are stealing that. But when it's just like a random thought, it's very hard to prove that you are the original of that. And there are people that can not only twitter but a ton of other stuff. We know there is somebody who we know got very popular and twitter from just scraping redit threads about programing and now is like has a very big following and just basically retweet and repose things that are already on the internet already and yeah probably making a quite .
a bit of money from this yeah and I don't was any a twitter p copyright system the way you see IT built so clearly through youtube like that that system that was built behind youtube like took years and negotiation and lawyers and paperwork and like that is built now in a way that is part of youtube. Ah I hate to keep using youtube, but like the S. T.
R. platform. So i've got a built, it's figured out. So yeah, this is something they've gotta figure out. Whoever in that office building just got a figure IT out of a feeling .
they just gna win IT till they can anymore.
Yeah as well. There's also a threads conversations probably about this because threads is so new, I don't think there's obviously, there's no revenue share program. But when they do start doing revenue sharing their ads or whatever, they ve got to figure that out too. Yeah see.
i'm interested to see I am very interested with what Adams that is like winter ads going to start getting on the threads. Um I guess to wrap up this conversation, I kind of want you to see how you think or like how IT is thread been turned into you just like everyday life right now because I think that's the most .
important yeah well, I guess I can is probably for everyone yes, personally uh, it's it's not on my primary homework reen k, it's on one of my home screen though OK IT replaced his twitter on your um no o it's next to twitter on my so know its made IT out of tra which is cool and yeah I open IT just for like the same level of entertainment as instagram.
Interestingly, it's not the same content but at the same level of i'm just going to scroll for a while and see some fund stuff out. Um I was in an airport for four hours and just like flip in back and forth, you know I just like casual passive entertainment. And once while you engage a little bit reply for some threads, talk to people it's kind of what IT is. There's no. Dm, so yeah, that's just like surface level, what I use IT .
for yeah I I think my use case on right now is like I still have that habit of just minds in a folder right next to twitter, but my my like habit is just folder twitter. Like it's like such a habit. I am so much more hitting twitter, growing through twitter and then being like.
This isn't great. Oh yeah, there's threads and then going to threads and then looking at that and then maybe replying like once. And overall, I just like my usage of social media that relying on text post has just dwindled quite a bit.
Question yeah let's say you have a bucket of all your social media. Let's say it's I don't know, one hundred units. Have your units overall gone up? Or have you split up your units into smaller pieces? Like if you did like fifty units of twitter and fifty units of instagram, are you now doing fifty more units of threads? Are you doing less twitter or less instagram to make room for threats?
S, where do I think i've probably just been using instagram more overall because it's just like seeing photos and and being more following the people that I know in my like personal life has been. I've just realized like men, as much fun as IT is sometimes it's just like there's so many people bickering and arguing and like this is more fun to stay away from that a little bit twitter. But I mean, like it's it's going to be a thread soon.
It's probably already starting to come in there. My twitter has been and I got cleaned up a little, but so bought written. And I know you guys have mentioned that like there's a lot of that on thread.
I ve never seen that, but i'm just not on threads as much. I I would say like because instagram, twitter and then threads, but i'm probably engaging more on threads. I'm reading twitter more because I still think that's like a habitual thing that will be very hard to break and and .
it's so like news base and I something like I like keeping up to do with .
news and that's because people are following when threads does that and when IT becomes more like apparent and people around there which will happen yeah i'll see myself using threads more. Maybe I would like a dim mode on, not the dark mode. I like dim mode on twitter, not full black o IT is David agrees with me on this. I know David agrees. I for some reason it's like blue purple and um yeah .
like super dark canadian whatever. I like black.
It's not quite full. Black.
interesting. okay. Are you hoping for a little training topics page on threads? Yeah, train training threads, training words, how you guys using twitter or threads at all?
I've been using IT. IT did make my home screen mainly because it's the new thing. So I am just like trying IT out seeing seeing what it's about. But I do like IT because a couple of months ago I went through and like really created who I was following on instagram. So my instagram for the past couple months, i've actually been having like a decent experience which is crazy to do .
that .
there's actually like interesting people and creators and things that I like that I follow yeah um so when threats happened and at all just transferred over has been pretty interesting seeing those people. Now I have like a decent a different experience in twitter, which when I first came out and I like was first starting to follow people, that was all tech people. So like winter, for me for the longest this whole time, has just been exclusively tech people. And now all of my other interests are also on tweeter, basically because of reads coming .
out yeah before you up, did you see um they mentioned threads adopting activity pub.
They've been saying that they gonna do that they've been like doing religion going through IT. But i'm curious to see when IT actually happens.
I hope they do because there .
would be awesome ah IT would be really cool.
Will see I don't .
have threads.
nice. I do.
You have any other one?
Don't you have like some weird that's fake account on?
And I have a twitter now you can make a weird fake account, don't I mean, so like, I had twitter and then IT was like, I was, you got ta get t two and that was like, go Alice, you got to get blue sky and then I was like, oh, I ve got to get I was like, enough. There is two way I done so yeah .
as I call.
So if you see all is on threads .
that it's not big.
that's good to know. That's super years to know, right? Well, I think we're going to do after the break is hyper not there are no notes. I have no idea house and work or what are going to judge, which i'm excited for. But before we're going to that were going to do trivia a quick break.
Okay, question too. Do you guys want a texture via question or a nature question?
Agriculture, asking markets and and say .
tech because when I get other one wrong, i'll be more embarrassed. So the let's do .
a nature question, that is this a nature? Is this a special wrong? Because the national park, it's just nature.
and is just nature in general, do OK. So how many grazie bears are alive .
in the world? I'm going.
why can I tell you a really cool fact I learned this week? sure. Does that have to be now going to be later?
The related?
No, it's not crazy, but IT is wild.
Like, right?
What is the biggest natural predator to .
move humans? No.
like bigger, bigger.
larger size .
wise s ah .
workers.
yes.
good moves me. And over here what they swim and they swim up and like the .
artic and workers .
have been known to eat moves.
That's I don't think it's very common, but that's .
a crazy. That's the best trip .
thing i've over the now imagine .
being an orkan and being like a jack fight. That's sick. Okay, well, what's take a quick break the very back.

Welcome back. We are going to do something now that we call hype or not hyped or over under or hypothetical ally speaking. There is a kind of name yeah basically what we're doing is mean Alice are gonna go back and forth and name things in technology, maybe not in technology.
Most in ology. You guys have to tell us whether that thing is overhyped, overhyped and i'll give you each one perfectly hype, okay? So you can use your one perfectly hyped throughout this round and just be like, okay, yeah, I think that's pretty good.
And we have to use the perfectly hype in the scenario. We can retroactively go back. You want to have to save .
the perfect. Yes, you got.
it's more spicy if you have to use IT. K, O.
K, so i'm going to be red cameras.
That uneasy yeah easy because two different counties, two very different yes.
that I want to get into.
Give me both. okay. So among um among Normal people overhype agree nobody should to get one.
Well they also overhype because like so many people are just like my red camera. That's why everything looks amazing. They don't have any red.
And like red built their brand up in a way that made that easy. Like good job red, you have a strong brand. People see red cameras and go, oh, a nice camera uh, but in like the video making community, I think there I know there they are appropriate, hyped or under hide like I think they're really good, especially for a one person or as a one person shooting manual focusing camera.
As far as echoes, I can't get Better quality of any other camera. So I trying to average them. I guess it's like slightly under hypes.
I'm definitely not using my perfectly hype done the first one IT is hard to say underhanded because like you can pull a lot of incredible footage of a lot of cameras ends like it's really hard to be like, oh yeah, people are not giving red enough credit because I think they're getting when I think they're getting their credit, very obvious they're getting their credit. But like you said, not many people ever need to be in our job the .
way we use them like we pull them out. Is a still frame from a video and IT is a thirty three megaplex el full frame still? That's unreal to get that from video frames. But I think as an average, I have to say over right.
I think I kind of have to say they .
are overall yes yeah .
yeah right over hype consensus yeah is.
you know, this is a new indeed of my heart OK license dongles. Like if you want to use some software, you have to plug a dongle in your computer. And I I actually have a comment I want to add to this because I feel like they're univerSally loved.
I've never used one, but I feel like I would hate that.
Here's here's the way I feel right. I used a lot of expensive software in my day to day, and I have multiple computers and I don't want to have to buy that software twice. So as annoying as the dog is, IT does let me multiple computer, my stuff, which is why rowing under high.
That sounds like I .
feel like I have this is a little bit different, but on our netflix account, you are only allowed to download to two different devices. But I ve switched my phones enough time that i'm pretty sure there's a phone that has downloaded stuff on IT that's not the activated and I cannot figure out. So I only come down have to when I go between my computer and ipad and phone, I have to keep deleting them off of IT because I can only do one. So if I just had a dongle and forced me to do IT, I would always know where that is.
So does that. But I know it's my phone, so I I don't want to go.
That's the problem of a on the phone is open in the neck and F.
C, D, that doesn't exist. But it's a .
japan in a physical done GLE though is a pain because you always have to bring with you. And then if you have multiple software now, I not look like the like middle school Janet of like Keith in .
of software dangles walking college.
I would say this IT would be nice if this expense software could also just log in to more long computer at once. So i'm .
going overhead, ed, there enough.
That is the correct answers. Okay, mine is twitter like services, so massive.
E easy. Everyone one .
including twitter is well.
okay, the advice would be over.
They literally has to be their marketing is the overnight and height is over.
but they're only overhype in our communities.
Ask you your true to .
your cousins about masted on what do they think like.
So then in that sense, it's like everything is over high except for threads, which is is actually pulling out of the the tech community and going to the is out there. But I still think over overall. I mean the other thing is, is like all the smaller ones is everyone want to be like I have a blue sky and fight, its so incredible I was there I was grow everyone yeah whatever you just wouldn't know because you didn't get to try that's over.
I like razer threads did have a couple days there where they would put a little badge on your profile for what user number you and the cloud that I had was I was like top one thousand and there were people who had like, I was number one hundred and three million, seventy eight thousand, two hundred and sixty was I had a little little piece me I was like, yeah, I was I was one of people are.
yes but then .
I thought.
oh, I don't even notice that yeah.
cool. yeah. I guess throw .
I think you turn IT on though I think it's off by default.
Okay, yeah, yeah. Either way you'll .
turn that on. Yeah, I agree.
See that I think there .
there are over ah yeah okay.
over. Helped Alice.
R, G, B lighting overhead.
Ed, next over.
I think even like, yeah, even the crowd that likes IT doesn't even really like IT anymore. Do we .
consider these lights behind us? S they do everything.
I believe these are RGB. I C, I think .
RGB was a mistake.
IT was fun. But even you look at like, think of main year custom computers, their big one selling now are like the dealer versions that have like very like the lights are one color, is only the really accent, all the really cool water cooling and like parts exactly. So we've definitely gone from the RGB. Everything like burn your retina into the like, wow, this is a cool, like a rather beautiful, even just kind of doing IT two underneath razer mse. No RGB tiful mostly for weight in there.
There was an everywhere a few keyboard because they all had, like, you'd plugged IT in. And I would just be like lasting you at R, G, B light waves for some reason.
It's a keyboard. I don't need this. We extradite one. Not even just do the keys to .
the whole blind. You you want to see any of your letters. You just going to see Green, red and pink lights all the time. Yeah, I was tough. I'm i'm gone. override.
Ed, okay. Tensor g two is interesting one.
Is anyone hoping IT.
that's the question. Besides google and David.
I well, is a tough one. I mean, if you're going camping n.
you've got to bring the tense, right?
Yes, the g two is Better in the that is tough. It's not okay. I can evaluate how good IT is, but I don't know how to evaluate how hate that is.
It's pretty good, but it's not that great. Like in the pixel seven and seven pro, it's decently performance and OK battery life. And for some reason, the pixel fold, it's quite nicely performance and not good battery life at all, but is IT hyped at all. That's kind of if I think .
IT is understood, ed, because just IT hasn't reached the level of us like considering IT, like when you talk about all android phones like this has violated snapdragon and like tensor just such in this category by itself. Where are I O S is as well, but they've had years of making that. So you're used to saying this is like the new a whatever chip and then tensor, just we've only had two years of IT two years. yeah. So like I think it's under hyped, but it's I don't know is .
the what you say that eight six bionic is overhyped.
underhanded ed, I think all phones chips over.
And I could say that the sixteen onic is under hyped. I could argue that I was gonna.
All phone chips are underhanded because .
there are tiny little computers in your posts that are they are doing these crazy things like processing on device, building a voice out of scratch from your own voice, just like weirdly capable yeah.
And then I see like ten cocom videos out of why that are like the new .
snaps drap. I think just for law averages say i'm gone perfectly hyped.
You're using your perfectly hype here.
I'm used because if I say over hyped, that implies that there is any hype at all about tensor. And I know I just .
think there is really .
any and if I say any hype, that would have to imply that tensor is like Better than expected in some way, but it's not IT .
enables a couple different things that are pretty cool.
I mean, the speech to text to superfast and google assistance, good on device and IT does have now playing in the background. I guess that's under okay.
I'm going to go under .
you talk me and do IT. I think now playing is pretty sweet. I'm going under helped now playing just for that one feature.
Yeah which only .
works on tense tensor would one as well though. Okay, but step .
ragon could .
s go under.
That was .
only .
A G one .
featured .
really. I think I might like pixel four had IT yeah Alice, just give me the sums up. Never owned one sounds overhype.
So that's not a tenser future.
I think it's been there for a bit and IT never works when you want to do. I swear now going to playing, I think is so cool. And every time i'm like, what song is this and I tap my phone to see IT nothing. okay. So there is something too.
and I have a tiny rank about this. And IT is complete speculation, cause I don't know how this future work. But if you are sitting in a car and the radios s playing and the the song, you know, you change the radio station to pulls up in the middle, IT will listen to the first five seconds of the song and instantly tell you what that song is, and that is amazing.
And I think what then what happens is IT knows at what part of the song IT was in and IT doesn't start checking for a new song until IT gets to the end of work that song would be. So if you were in a form in the song and you pull up in the middle of that song, you're not get another now playing answer for two more minutes. And so if you're shuffling through radio and you get one ID and then you shuffle to the next .
radio station, you won't get IT. If that's .
how IT works. I want to talk to the idea I ve spent my because that's totally something that I would believe what happened and that's how I I realized yeah and that kind of I think now playing awesome. I just realized that I don't have IT on my then phone and the music for like a month.
So apparently I didn't use that much.
It's get in ub. Are you are you into perfectly help if the thing you we yes.
so you use .
your perfectly hype and just still has is right?
Streaming T, V sticks.
Is there any other at all about I think it's overhead .
because they're pretty much useless at this point.
Are they they mostly built in the TV.
Are they exactly? Well, we are working. I wouldn't consider that built into the T. V. I would just not consider that a streaming T, V stick anymore.
But you can, you can. You're talking about like a row who stick that you plug into A H, D, M, I port at this point .
to turn a non smart T, V into a smart v, right?
It's fine. It's time. I mean, most new tvs have the roca or youtube or netflix s built in. Yeah and so if you have an old T, V, you plugged in the stick and IT works exactly.
I use one for my like garage T, V, that I am not gonna new T V for my garage because I really use IT and the chances of a breaking out there, it's like a ten year old T V. I .
just rome.
maybe i'm just like in a bubble here because my family is always super excited about all of the new sticks because they can, like, I put the code on and all .
these crazy things do .
you like.
can I answer that? And out of .
this is, is the shield one of the sticks?
And we count in the shield. People still use that.
I have friends that use that shield and they I guess I got to go overhype of them.
I'm going .
to say over ys.
i'm sure there are people out there where they haven't bought a smart T V. Yes, but you will soon and that will be useless.
Yeah, good thing. It's only like forty box usually.
Next one .
wights underhanded.
underhanded. Yes, my touch ble widgets scrolling on the apple watch is supposed .
becoming the widget in general are so good. And i've seen so many iphone home screen since widget have come out that don't have widget. Know my guys what you're doing? You're missing out widget .
are so useful. I I think I use my hip's my correctly .
how I do agree there are .
some that are incredible, but there are way too many that are just so pointless and take up your entire screen and just turn into I don't get all the new widgets on mac because you are always in of windows open and that seems crazy. I think I don't really use widget that much. I'd rather like .
have a nice .
clean home screen. I do you think I do agree a bunch of the way.
which is on the mac are pretty dumb. Yeah, I don't understand that.
But I think someone phones and pad are like incredible.
So I buy average there. The hype and on on widgets for mac at the moment that they were announced, A W D, C, massively overhauled optional .
widget I can put on my phone right now.
But like, I can't live without my calenda launcher.
cool. My authenticator actually might.
Yes, see, you're a logging to twitter. You just go home and boats. My code.
my bank of amErica vidi, because I want to send money through there in a year on my phone. That sounds reasonable. That isn't same.
That is crazy, right? The reply would you was just as to sign in to get rewards. I definitely need a this .
is when the tesla budget constantly display is how much Better you have unless you lock.
And unlike, that's pretty good. So pretty good. I do not need the in break, and we did actually know. I lovely.
Have you looked at you? And I love that there are so many good ones. I can't go underhill pe for widget because not enough people. I have to go, sorry, I can go over hyped. I have to go under hyped.
Gone to add, the redit is fun with, just is still there, even though IT doesn't work at all. R, I, P, I think i'm just going to keep what is the tiktok? Wh, well, just like a launch into the tiktok camera away.
Oh, you got to be tiktok .
in a lot to do that. OK, i'm going to stick with perfectly. I don't use rid as well enough. So I understand there there, but I can call them over.
okay.
over hypes or under hyped, the Brown loose IT under hyped you like .
IT it's awesome. It's too tone right? Yeah is .
it's the oh.
no, we saw that in california and I I don't think there's that much help, but i'm .
going overhead, ed. I think the loser .
in general design is underhanded. I think people too much, and IT does look, I think that looks good. And in some colors that looks really good and looks like a Brown. That color though, IT looks like a whale. Whe shark, both sides.
so could go, well, shark, yeah.
yeah. So did go overhead over ped.
The Brown is probably overhead because if one person likes IT.
then it's so ah .
sorry to whoever is listening to this podcast. I feel like the chances that somebody is listening .
to us in their Brown Lucy is actually .
yes if you own a Brown know i'm on your side .
picture of us playing on your input tainted system .
handheld gaming councils, overhead ed, overhead ed.
yeah everyone, smart phone gaming, hard, disagree.
smart phone game.
I think they're actually underside right now.
I think the switch brought into play and everyone really like to for a while and now actually everyone R O G, everyone trying to do IT. And I still think the switch is just doing at the best, and the switch is still the only thing I see. people. I went to the airport and there were, I saw two different groups of people with a switch propped up on their playing more on separate rollers.
Every other one is trying to be like a hard core switch is just insanely small.
Demography switch is just the like, perfect storm. It's like fun short games. You want to play .
a bunch of or what which could be could run windows and be over clock yeah and play called them like .
half three just not something i'm to them.
I am going over .
hype are A A agent for I can't it's totally fine. I agree though. I don't need to play counter strike .
source on the airplane .
area yeah or just use your .
laptop or the google pixel fold.
I would like to go under hyped this my heart take is is not a hot take, but it's more terrible .
than I expected for yeah.
it's fine. Isn't that crazy? I had sending IT weeks ago so far.
I thought I would be broken .
by now the same I went so for those who missed that um when I was first testing IT when I first came out, I went to a three day long beach tournament and I accidently took IT with me the entire time, uh, came back here.
I pulled, I open the hinge and and when I made that like a hinge opening movement, I could hear sand grinding in the gears of the hinge and I thought this thing is gonna e within days of me getting back here IT hasn't guess what I also did on the plane. I spilled water on IT OK. There is a water bottle in the little thing next to my seat.
And when I popped the open, IT was a metal water bottle for some reason. And IT like fell onto the phone and IT cracked the bottle open. And I just start pouring all over the phone, and I picked IT up and I was like, well, that's the end of this phone shoot.
IT out like, on plot different, it's fine. It's totally fine. That's actually .
really impressed. IT the metal and metal water bottle, what that sounds like, like the photos of, like the old vows, when cars would crash into them and then the car would get destroy, because the water, just like iraq.
that's no people on that thing. Yeah.
this cyber c, this is the cyber truck .
of phones there IT is this is the cyber truck phones under hyped for sure, pixel folds under hype. It's expensive, I and say was under .
prised relative to the time right now. It's probably overhot because the most recent folding phone, and that is always the most overhead ed thing but .
like that the the mixed magic two came out after.
oh sorry, I guess yeah then I don't .
know .
yeah right alright .
next one, one day's new design language spy and .
you can't get me to say, understand I love design language. I don't know, just hand just well.
okay, handy. I love. I wait.
So no.
what I won't .
say over, i'm very likely to say under hype. I think .
they're under hype. I think some people are giving them credit, I don't think. But even like clare all the time, I and this is even some of regular s ice vehicles are on you, right? great. I saw singer here looks fire .
like I would never buy a movable ety.
but the stinger .
looks like one that I would buy. There are both south rea, right? I believe. So, yeah, yeah.
Did you car concluded?
IT looks like a range rover. What kind of like there's a very .
long conversation here about if we have a huge I think alit looks a lot like Darwin is, but I think it's more rage rover style.
IT is a is a three row, right? There's no way it's set bulky with only two rows.
Think, I think .
four or three O, S, U, V.
I think that looks fine. I think he looks really good.
So wait, Andrew.
you're saying I think it's under high. I do think people are giving a credit. I don't think I people are giving them credit.
They look really good. And I think they still have the like cheaper brand just behind them. But that doesn't look IT.
They look great. But also like the car itself is like me.
So that's good design because the design is so much Better than the rest of the car that you are let down by the car, which means the design is great, that's sure. But I also think people are under appreciating how much of a moment in time this can be for some manufacturer, as they make their first evs, they can kind of turn the corner into being a into changing a reputation. And I think they're doing .
IT at the perfect time they're .
going to a new high school and they can reinvent themselves exactly .
yeah people call me charly whatever else .
name going to make of .
oh yeah yeah like .
pipe stuff. It's funny because .
i'm looking at the same right now and IT does not look at as a third. So maybe this is not, but there is not enough pictures.
I think in here yeah, the regular sancy right now does not have a third rock.
I don't know if the new one only has two rows. I take IT all back and looks like a like IT IT has to have three rose also .
in terms of cars being like man and that is i'm looking good like didn't dug tomorrow, say recently that lake.
please pretty much .
every car you buy is going to be fine. And at a certain point, just by the one that you.
is that still true with E V?
I feel it's .
not true with .
gully s gas. In hybrid.
Um yeah I don't know there is nothing in here confirming that is through. So IT might only be too, but this does not get a more trunk .
space than the court. Maria describes the new santista as quote, having a but dunk.
which is why I think IT has have three rows, because if only as two rows.
that things got A N on. But this one is not as bad because some of them stand up, they like a sad that I think ks, yeah yeah, like much only because .
it's got that weird plastic piece that like, like is like the corner of IT.
the plastic piece that .
looks like a good idea. Okay, yeah, but yes.
来 干嘛? Yeah.
please.
I like the v six that's .
fully loaded, baby.
That peace. I know that IT looks as sagi day.
There's just like too much behind the .
wheel back yard. You seem like the porters though that'll have that like real because that they are literally real engine cars and they have all the weight over the rear axels pass, the rear axle pass behind the rear exit. And that like also comes with the look of being like A I don't know it's saggy but IT has the same like wearing .
I think to be like more high hatchbacks like have the hole around diver filling. Yes, I don't know these don't quite do IT, but which is a good thing. I also think the .
poor is since there using straight six as a lot of the time it's like they shape the car on the and they be air cold too.
What's what .
i'm saying? Yeah, anyway, sorry, overhype under design.
under high design, I do like them. I still like that one more.
Are you ready? Overhyped, underhanded apple one.
I don't know .
that goal.
One .
same idea. It's like .
instead of planets.
stead of buying google storage just in drive you get like storage and photos drive gmail. Everything is like storage like you're one google one account .
IT seems like it's just storage .
and A V P N I have google.
So apple one is cloud storage. T, V plus music and arcade open premier also adds fitness and newsletter s and music. I say music. And if I didn't say music, if I didn't, I read IT off a list and see very screwed up.
So is just the whole show, bang.
It's all lady.
It's the whole entire. Seems like google one is.
i'm anna, say undertake just because I have to want you, my mother, just like not in that ecosystem at all.
I think this is good. I I generally think streaming services are like people don't realize how much value they are getting out of them. And I generally think they're mostly underhill's, like youtube premium being tall box month, whatever IT is and getting add free access to the entire like history of humanity video archive is pretty good.
I think that sentiment is right, and we will be wrong in five years because so many streaming services are just taking full vantage and it's all going to turn into this very weird, too many of them asking for too much. Didn't netflix just eliminate the nine ninety nine basic deal now rather than a basic no add wonder vice, it's only ads supported or the like fifteen dollar multiple vice forecast streaming version.
So for for fifteen thousand a month, I think you get .
up to two devices or like two or three devices, you do get four kay and no add or you pay six ninety nine and you get ads and .
then you get all of the shows that netflix has ever made in its history.
Yeah, well, ever hosted, ever all the ones netflix made, but like the ones that netlist didn't make, who knows how long they'll ll be on there and then in the midst of watching something in the ages.
go away and even new streaming .
service pops up like pec a can take all the office episodes off of IT.
right? Yeah, I guess I don't know how much of A I don't really watch that much stuff that's not on youtube, but I guess with the ones that I do use, they are super, super worthy. Yeah like spotify, I have problems like sort of ice.
Whatever I pay for you might be two box, fifteen box a month, unlimited. I tried to. I was on a demo device, just I D going to go playing with something.
And I opened up the free version of spotify and try to play song. And I got a video ad. I got a video ad to listen to a song that's razing. So paying for spotify, which i'm totally downforce, getting unlived access to music period, is pretty sick. I know people don't .
like paying months for things, but I think spottis ying, this is really hard. And maybe use apple music like, yeah if you use spotify, you don't pay for a monthly. Do I pay monthly .
OK you are .
making that face like don't look because .
I use IT the free version for a long time because I didn't care. I would just like let IT play and add whatever. And then when I started, like commuting, and I was only listening to music.
but then I was a problem. Add whatever it's like my music against playing.
If .
like .
you.
you don't get to .
choose a song and free yeah.
that's how. Anyway, just albums. But I would be like doing .
room because I want to listen .
a new album comes out. It's just like you can't listen .
in order to time right out. I was already like their .
entire album is essentially one song and then just listening to that out of worse yeah .
like the travelling story, IT has like a plot. You have to listen order if you're especially for the first time you listen to me, you got you needs, but i'd pay ten box amount to listen to that all in order.
That's IT. Do you guys remember itunes match?
I heard of that .
itunes match was the so IT was released at the along side apple music, and they said I had IT. I was the biggest itunes match of all time where they said .
not get IT to work.
I was so complicated. I was twenty dollars a year. And if you had a huge itunes and library um which I did, I had like a four five hundred six of itunes library, they would take all of your itunes library, replace the files that were in apple music with like the masters for apple ones and then upload all of that to the apple music servers so you could open the apple music APP and stream your itam library from anywhere you were so I didn't pay for apple music for years but I was using is essentially apple music and and still .
buying albums yeah yeah .
but now what's going .
yeah I think I think we're just landing on under hoped yeah that's what's happening. Take place. And yes, we should get to the trivia. We have some trivia questions.
Get those White boards.
I wrote down on the first one already. I'm not going to change IT.
So I was googling through the internet, I found out you could wake up a computer with nothing but in internet connection. And the name for this whole thing was so funny that I I just had to turn this into a trivial question. So I .
know why. I this.
the options are a want the stands for week on the magic packet to clump like a horse cash load on message packet three stop that stands for sleep time over mr. puter. And for alarm, which is an automated local access revive message.
ready? We're ready. Yeah, both ready. Three, two, one. How many? We just put different .
markets wamp.
IT is wamp wake .
on magic packet bomb. No one shows sleep time over mr. puter. But clumps .
are really I was like, what's the .
name of that that .
mario character? It's like the um other's chain jump. But there's also isn't the the large stone one called like a wamp. It's basically this like flat one with feet and go like and like smashes on top of you guys.
If he has feed, he's warm, but if he's floating.
he's a swap. Okay, nice.
Wow but new everyday.
Yeah I yeah the floating ones like on rainbow road in mario car and the other ones are in like like mario sixty four and just run around in .
circles and just try and body slam you all.
Oh, question number two .
market is think about IT. How many grazy bears are there in the world? Like what is the greasy bear population? The entire world, the entire world.
And we need the answer in kilograms. How many kilograms?
杭州 美 人的。
I want to be in .
order exact number or .
or without going over .
k grazy grazy.
I want to answer and then have .
a question same. I'm nervous about my order manitoes. Oh, okay, same order OK. I said three, three, three or three.
three, three, three or three.
I'm right, Austin. yeah. The error one thousand. And I guess anything we don't know closest until David answers, which will be .
answering what the actual .
number the actual number is fifty five thousand.
wow.
A, wow. okay. Mark is closer. yeah. Market will get the points if the .
bar is Better, according to world population review.
Well, asked David what he thinks the answers are, uh, both for the acronym, uh, for waking up a computer.
B, that is, be warm, that is correct. Wamp wake up on the magic packet is the correct answer.
And for how many greatly bears are on planet earth, forty thousand.
forty thousand is incorrect. But IT is closest without going over for that question, meaning you have taken the point away from markets in anger. There are proximately fifty five thousand grasberg in the world. David, that gives you one point, meaning you are tied with mark. S.
no, I have two points, because i've all all got the first question rate.
Oh my gosh, you have two points, meaning year in first place, week one, season three, trivia has a fuel, feels just like every other week.
Will leave IT at that. Thanks for listening. Thanks for watching dont as the next one way from his Bruce .
