During the last year I have worked concretely in the European Parliament to ensure that the rights and interests of the Maltese are always protected in the best way. This was the message of the Member of the European Parliament on behalf of the Nationalist Party Roberta Metsola during the launch of her campaign for the election of the European Parliament. She emphasized how important the European Parliament is for citizens because it deals with subjects that directly affect the people.

Metsola described the European Parliament as a shield for the citizens and explained how after gaining the trust of the other MEPs, she was appointed to several Parliamentary Committees where she worked effectively to bring about change in favor of the people. Among others, she mentioned her work so that the issue of Citizenship was discussed at a European level, as well as the issue of the gas tanker that the Labor Government will anchor in Marsaxlokk Bay. In this case, the residents of the lower part of Malta went to her and collected a petition to convey their concerns to the European Parliament.

Roberta Metsola recalled how she was also instrumental in our country obtaining an increase in the Budget allocated to Malta so that it could face the challenge of immigration. Asked what she will focus her work on if the people trust her with their vote, Metsola promised to continue using the European Parliament as a shield to defend the citizen.
