Libya: The Parliament asks the PM to form a new Cabinet

The authorities in the Libyan capital Tripoli claimed that the Libyan Parliament asked Prime Minister Abdullah al-Thinni to form a new Cabinet. He was asked to do this as, in agreement with the General Congress, upon his appointment he had to set up a Government within a period of seven days.

As soon as the new Cabinet is appointed, it must be decided whether al-Thinni should remain Prime Minister of Libya or not. Al Thinni had written to the Parliament to have more powers and a stronger mandate
