Schumacher with "moments of acquaintance"

FORMULA 1 - After months in a coma, legend and former Formula 1 champion Michael Schumacher "showed moments of familiarity" according to his agent.

Sabine Kehm said in a statement to the media that the former driver "was making progress" and that they are still "confident".

Schumacher had suffered serious head injuries during an accident he had while skiing in the French Alps on 29 December 2013.

"We are on his side in this long and difficult fight, together with the staff of doctors in Grenoble. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your continued sympathy and at the same time, once again we ask you to understand that we do not intend to reveal the details," the statement concluded.

Mercedes' dominance continues

Mercedes' dominance continues as Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg set the fastest and second fastest times respectively in the first and second free practice sessions for the Bahrain Grand Prix. Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso recorded the third fastest time in both sessions while champion Vettel of Red Bull disappointed.
