Three Libyans admit to wounding other foreigners during a fight

Three Libyans admitted in front of Magistrate Ian Farrugia that they slightly injured and damaged a private property late Monday evening in St. Julian's. The fight took place at around 11.15 pm

Fausia Aluena Alhamed, 32 years old, Shukri Abo Ghani El Massri, 31 years old and Alhssin Omer Hssin Naser, 34 years old, started when they joined another group of foreigners. The argument escalated into a fight where two other men, Bader Elsafrouri and Ahmed Mosbah Hassan suffered minor injuries.

A pair of Oakley sunglasses owned by a certain Peter Tornyos were stolen during the fight. Meanwhile two parked cars, a BMW owned by Dwayne Reid and a Kia owned by Sergio Tanti were also damaged, so much so that the fight escalated.

The Court sentenced Alhamed and El Massri to 18 months in prison suspended for three years while Naser was released on the condition that he does not commit another crime within two years. Moreover, El Massri was ordered to pay the sum of €343 in damages to Sergio Tanti and €150 to Peter Tornyos.

For his part Alhamed was ordered to pay the sum of €592 in damages to Dwayne Reid. The Court also placed the victims Bader Elsafrouri and Ahmed Mosbah Hassan under a protection order on a guarantee of €2,000, with the condition that the culprits do not approach them. Inspector Trevor Micallef led the Prosecution.
