Ukrainians accused of terrorism

RUSSIA - Russia's Federal Security Services (FSB) said they arrested at least 25 Ukrainians who are accused of planning the terrorist attacks at the same time (last month) when the referendum on the future of Crimea.

According to the FSB, the accused are members of ultra-nationalist movements, but despite references to 'attacks that the extremists were planning against Russia's interests', the Ukrainian security services they are categorically denying that this is true.

The tension in the area is still high and ever since Russia joined the Crimean peninsula to its territory. At the same time, NATO remains 'aware' of the tens of thousands of Russian soldiers who are deployed along Russia's border with eastern Ukraine.

Some of the arrested Ukrainians are accused of 'taking photos of the movements of Russian troops'. Other accusations, then, refer to 'the attempts of the same Ukrainians to establish contacts with extremist elements in the lands of Russia'.

The FSB statement claimed that those arrested were planning the attacks in the Russian regions of Rostov, Volgograd, Tver, Orel, Belgorod, Kalmykia and Tatarstan, between March 14 and 17.

However, the Officials of the Government of Ukraine are also bringing the specific charges against Russia, and in the sense that dozens of FSB agents were involved in planning actions against the protesters in Kiev that early in the year protested against the administration of the former Ukrainian President, Viktor Yanukovych, who is a great ally of Moscow.
