Hello, listeners of AC English. Welcome back. This is Erin. This is Flora. Oh, really? Hmm.
After the award ceremony, a reporter asked her about her relationship with Korean actor Kim Soo-hyun. So Tang Wei answered like this. I don't know.
If you want to keep it short, you can say, I don't know him. If you want to keep it short,就是简单的说,是吧?
I don't know him I don't know him But if you want to be more specific, you can say
I'm not familiar with him. Yeah, this is a more specific way to say I don't know him. 如果你想表达得更具体, you can say I'm not familiar with him. Be familiar with 对什么什么熟悉。 Not familiar with I'm not familiar with him.
Then you can say, I've heard of him, but I don't really know him. I've heard of him, but I don't really know him. If that's the case, then you can say, I've heard of him,
I have no idea who he is. I have no idea who he is. 那么对于有些脸盲症患者的话, 你可能之前见过这个人, you've met him before, but you actually have no idea who he is. If you have face blindness and you have no idea who he is, you can also say that.
So what if I've heard of him? If you have only heard of him, then you can say, I've never met him in person.
I have never met him in person. I have never met him in person. You can say we've met once. 见过一次,we've met once. once 就是一次,we've met once.
You can say, I've seen him before, but we've never talked.
This happens a lot on college campuses. I see people, but I don't recognize them. Okay. I've seen him before, but we've never talked.
We've never talked. One last question, Erin.
I don't know somebody I don't know, I don't know So what exactly does I don't know somebody mean in English? Or how many meanings does I don't know somebody have? 那么 I don't know somebody
There's actually three meanings for I don't know somebody. The first meaning would be if someone is a complete stranger to you. Then, for example, you can say I don't know them. 第一种意思就是如果一个人对于你来说完全就是一个陌生人, he's a complete stranger for you, then you can say I don't know him. I don't know him.
The second meaning is a little bit different. When you might know who someone is, but you don't really know their personality. You're not really friends with them. Then you can say, "I don't really know him that well." Okay, the second case is if you don't really know somebody's personalities.
Or you're not friends with him I don't really know him that well 我也不是特别的了解他 I don't really know him that well And then if you were friends with someone But then they did something that you didn't expect Then you can say I thought I knew her But I guess I didn't
如果你跟一个人是朋友, but he or she did something you didn't respect. I thought I knew her. 我以为我很了解她, but I guess I didn't. Erin? The third meaning is, if you don't really understand what someone is doing.
Then you can say, I don't know what got into him. If you don't really understand what somebody is doing, 如果你不了解他为什么这么做, you don't understand, you can say, I don't know what got into him. I don't know.
I don't know what got into him. I don't know what got into him. Yes. I don't know somebody I don't know what got into him.
That's really cool that you can express that you don't know someone in so many different ways. Yeah, exactly. Well, that's it for today's episode. We'll see you next time. See you next time. This is Erin. This is Vara. Bye. Bye-bye. It's night.
Just let me
