So excited to welcome today's guest Rebecca Canup. She is a Canadian writer and poet. A former health care worker who when things shifted in 2020 took a chance on her lifetime dream of writing full time. She has published two books, working on her third. She also is a writing mentor and facilitator encouraging others to write what they know, and leads with bravery and authenticity.
Rebecca shares some of her creative process and says to make your mess, your message. That we can write about our trauma but also write about your healing. That's her favourite part.
She talks about finding pockets of time as a mother and creative. Not wanting to give up on one for the other. How they can both coexist, althought it might look different and of course, sometimes the laundry must wait.
This was a wonderful, refreshing conversation about creativity and writing. And I can't wait to read her 3rd book when it comes out.
