you're listening to a mobile network podcast. Hey, everyone, let's talk about protein for a second. There's this rumour about getting plant based protein is tough.
But listen, there are some amazing options out there. Even if you're not began, adding more plant based protein to your diet is a fantastic way to nourish your body and support the planet. My go to for taste protein and super food pack shake is kova.
Every sermon of kaaba offers twenty five grams of one hundred percent plant based protein. But that's not all this. All in one shake has fiber quality facts, fideles minerals, anti oxidant and so much.
I love that I can take so many boxes with just one delicious shake. If you know me, you know that vanilla and try are my favorite flavors, and I like to combine them. But they also have chocolate, they've got marcha, and they've got coconut asie am a big fan of the coconut sie as well.
After drinking a rava first thing in the morning, because that's when I always drink IT, I feel seated for hours. I feel focused, calm and were ready to take on my day something that I really love to do if I even want like a little bit more protein is just at a scoop of peanut butter to the mini and check in code that I make. And that all is just grum deadly.

If I hurt my feelings, I could heard my feelings, I would still say that I would still stay.
This has been chest without.
I like IT. I like that .
we both pretty. I was just, I like, I was .
sweat us. That was nice. And I like, I have a case to really don't know how to wait because this, we are really sad one, and it's a really confusing one. I'm going to go ahead and tell you at the top of this that nobody he's really ever convicted for one of the deaths that we're going to talk about all it's very unclear whether it's simply a death or uh, more complicated dly a murder wow. yes.
So we're going to be talking about john Robinson hill and john hill OK but we're going to start with jone so Jones, all of Robinson SHE was said to be born on february six, one thousand nine hundred and thirty one I say said to be because her birth certificate was like lost at some point actually and there's no record of her birth that exists as far as anybody knows. wow. But as far as people do know, he was boring to anonymous parents and rural eagle lake, texas.
And a month after he was born, he was given up for adoption to e to the eda gi home in fort worth, texas, where SHE was actually quickly adopted, which like, yeah, and he was adopted by Davis ash Robinson, he known as the ash and his in his way for rare. Now, ash Robinson, he was a classic texas oil men. I feel like oil men are like a running theme in my case. Yeah, i'm loving in oil tin .
of a oyle tiken early.
Maybe not.
but maybe not. But you are interested .
personal stories. It's because rich and I love oil story of a .
doulas kind of story.
Yeah, no, yes. Very like, wow.
Very wall.
very freshy. Very, very shocking. Very that active. Those are them.
Ash Robinson, he was a classic texas woman. He wore a wide bomb cowboy head all the time. He drove a link and continental, yeah. And he was deeply suspicious of liberals also.
Okay, you as a child of the old south, he had views that were increasingly out of step with the world around him that we're interesting yeah but despite his heart stereo, he absolutely adored his wife and his new. That's good yeah, I think we can ask. He love his family. I don't know if I really want to know anything else about his personal views.
but he loved his family. And honestly, the most important part, you love your family taking care of them. That's good.
nice. exactly. And this was kind of during a time where most dads were, you know, pretty hands off. And yeah, the babies needs mostly to the mother of the woman in their life. But ash was not about that life. He insisted on tending to the new baby's needs, preparing her formula changing dies when he was old enough to take on trips, he would bring little jone around with him to check on his oil wells at the time, a man which was like a very rare size, really cute. And as he grew, there was nothing ash would not do or give to his daughter, do for or give to his daughter, author Thomas thomson route should a minor scratch peer on her ARM ash with summer.
a specialist and, if .
necessary.
a medical staff.
He had his daughter. When Jones was four years old, her father hired to show for a show futur quaked, chiefly because he enjoyed going on rudd's with his daughter and did not want to divide his attention between her and the road. Wow, that's really precious.
That's some dad ship. That's some oil to shit dad ship that I like. That's really rich dwd ship, but like, very adorable. Yes, kind of like hocker irl shit at Jason the other ago.
Now, IT was on one of those drives that john got her first glimpse of the animal that would play a very, very important role in her future. Ash would later recall, I remember well exactly what happened as the car passed a field full of horses. Jonny commends to hollering that he wanted to ride those points.
That was the beginning. Everything dates from that afternoon. Owow SHE fell in love with horses and horse, a horse scale.
I just bore years old where, you know, that's an age era like a lot of kids would be pretty intimidate by a giant fucking and horse. You just like straight up scared, not jone. SHE became completely obsessed.
Within a few weeks, ash had purchased her in older horse that SHE learned to ride on, and of course, learned the responsibility, ie. S of owning an animal in general, yeah, every year. So when he was five years old, SHE was riding in competitions and winning Robins alongside writing writers that .
were twice her age or for her.
SHE was an incredible.
incredible horse water. And SHE entered high school.
That love of horses was continually rival ed only by the love of her father. And when SHE graduated and enrolled at Stevens college in boom county asian, ray Robinson actually leased a sweet of rooms at a hotel across the street from the campus so that they wouldn't have to be apart from their daughter. Wow, would you know? I think that is lovely, that I loved their daughter so much.
Well.
I was out of love, bob of love, but I definitely think I was .
a little overboard. And I mean, you do need I mean, I can't imagine because my kids are so Young that like I can't tell them being apart from them for any length of time.
I like spread the way.
but I know at some point you've to let like be a little independent, but that's tough. Yeah and at least you know what was out .
of love and I think it's different too like I think there's that added level that he was adopted and they wanted that I have a baby so badly and you did whatever .
they could so maybe just like, yeah, I was just sadden run abundant of love and protective nature .
definitely know. Now at college, Jones was instantly popular with her peers and her instructors, and SHE also maintained her passion for riding. And he spent most of her free time when SHE wasn't at classes or anything at the stables.
But at the same time he also was keeping up with her grade. He's doing really well in school trying to satisfy her parents. And while he may have loved her mother and father, SHE definitely did.
Their constant presence eventually did become stifling. yeah. And of course, you can imagine she's that college a chance to bring out a little bit.
One of her friends later said, most of us felt sorry for her. SHE was completely under her parents. Then SHE could even accept a date without checking with them first. With all that attention, he was hungry for love from somebody other than moon.
Paul, I know that's the thing. I can backfire. That's exactly. But it's never intentional, you know I mean, like it's always you can understand that no.
And I really, I really don't think I came from anywhere other than a place of just love.
really loving that.
I really, really, yeah.
raw love.
And now when he was Younger, you know, in her childhood is the love and attention that he got from her parents. Specifically, her father helps joe grow into you like a confident, empowered beyond woman. But as an adult, that same moderation had become a little more oppressive and smothering at this point.
yeah. While SHE was still in college, he appeared in a drama department production, which Sparked an interest in acting that actually let her all the way to hollywood to take a screen test. Llay wood, llyw ood, and that kind of one, her father said, he said, holy wood, playwood, because when he found out about her intentions to make a name for herself in acting, he was not pleased, so he immediately refused to allow this. And he told her, I quote, too many good girls had been destroyed by show business.
I mean, show business is not a, is a scary place. So you can see the, you can see the hesitant that you would have to allow your child, your only child, hundred percent to that. I get that the leg.
especially during this time like that .
in that the other thing, this is a very different time. And I mean, any time really sucks.
Any time drink show business is like intense but this was like IT was like round upon .
at this point. Yeah and and IT look, it's looked at very different at that time. So it's like, yeah and but IT sucks for her because it's like what you wants to do no matter what you want your parents to like support your dreams absolutely. It's a tough with a tough little double edge sort there.
IT is I do get to a degree where where ash was coming from but if I get worry, yes, and I also understand my Jones would be disappointed yeah .
you can see both sides there for sure.
And I think as much of as much of him that wanted her to not become an actor, that also had a lot to do with the distance that .
would have to him. I thought I was also a big part of IT that this is why this is one of those things that it's like you're not seeing this like, you know shady parents who are just hard asses to for the sake of being hard asses. You know I mean that just like put all these crazy unnecessary expectations on this child and i'd like driving in her to IT just seems like it's like you can kind of understand both sides on this coin here which so sad it's a lot yeah cause you like I get I get both get I yeah you seem like you just all love each other and want to make each other happy and it's difficult for that happy yeah but over time.
IT would become clear that ash Robinson's influence over his daughter's life extended well beyond professional and financial. While SHE was still in college, john mtn fell in love of the man named Spike. Shut up, Spike. I immediately watchers.
is this willing of the bloody?
It's not now. It's just Spike in.
It's just he .
was a Young man, man from a pretty prominent new orleans family like both of your you're in my goodness. He, yeah. So i'm pretty prominent noral n's family.
And he had recently graduated from the united state's military academy. H wow. So let's go. They fell in love.
Eventually the relationship, you know, turn serious because love s because love, in spite, approached ash for his permission to marry john. He's like, I love your daughter. I really, I really want to marry her.
That's the ash was like, no, no, not thing. That's not adorable, al. He was like, you guys are too Young. I really don't want john to marry you while you're an active member of the military. And I also think it's going to be a way too expensive for you guys to keep up with the horses. So no.
I just text that like courses are expensive as well. He's like, sorry.
she's a really good writer. You're in the military so you're to move around a lot, which i'm not going .
to let that happen if that must be so hard IT must be so hard. I'd read this kind of stuff because it's like you have to let go yeah and you have to relinquish a little bit .
of control how because you never done IT.
but you've spent their whole life doing nothing but trying to keep them safe and them right directions and teach them things and like make sure they're okay and it's like and then you just have to release all of that and hope whatever you did that. So it's like, I can imagine how much, but it's like the more you fight for control as they get over, I older, I just like from what i've witnessed feels like I just backfires there. And IT must be such a hard like baLance to strike, you know, because that's the thing you hope that.
like you just said, you hope that you gave them enough that they are gonna make their decisions. And you also hope that you know, like you loved them enough and created like a bond with them where if they're not doing okay, they'll come to you and you'll have to have faith in that. I think that is where letting go could become a little easier if you have that bond where you know that they'll still come to you.
exactly. But and I don't know if ash even really thought about that. Yeah, I think he was just blinded by like I can yes.
I was just blinded fear like she's gonna ve exactly.
And for that reason, literally any reason he could possibly think of for them not to get married. He named used in his argument against this idea, but despite his refusal, je insisted that he wanted to marry Spike. And eventually her father did relent and gave this blessing sing .
but IT took IT took some bit.

Now after the wedding, jone and Spike moved down to florida. We're Spike hubbo station actually. And just as they had done when he left for college, asian ray Robinson also found a reason to relocate to florida, huh? And they rented an apartment just a few miles away from the newly weds.
Guys, I love you. You got, this is bringing .
helicopter parent. Yeah.
I get, I see that you have pure intention, really, like you've gotta give a little space.
Because the thing was, rather than being a source of support for the Young couple, ash became a constant presence in their lives. He started every single morning by going to have coffee at his daughter lives, which is beauty and so lovely. But like, GTA be a little division here.
yeah. Like if my, you know, my grampa came to my house every single day for coffee. Like right now, when I just gotten married, I feel like I love you so much and you you can totally do this.
but this is a lot, but like we need a little separate and that's the thing. If I was just coffee every morning, that that was their thing and they decided that was their thing and that was otherwise they had very like be regular average time together. You know like that's one thing, but it's like because there so much other I be sure that .
became a little stifling .
IT wasn't long before .
the you the stifling constancy of ash Robinson became a point of contention for Spike and jone in the marriage. And unfortunately, within six months the marriage completely fall apart. A boy and joe, it's back to texas with her parents. All three of them relocated back to texas. Luckily for Jones, IT wasn't long before he fell in love again, this time with a new orleans lawyer named Cecil burgess.
He's loving vian fair SHE does and she's also just like gorgeous so you can see why yeah not have any trouble now season and joe there they both really shared a love of horses and riding the horses, and they really bonded over that. And before long, the prospect of marriage, he was raised yet again. But this time ash, just flat out, refused to allow his daughter to quote, run from the ruins of one marriage and into another. Yeah, that's I was ready right there.
or start over step. In fact.
he not only refused to give his blessing to this specific marriage, but he quote and quote, forbid IT. Oh, just like, okay, okay. And he he's pushing joe.
at this point, I forbidding your child to do something, especially when they are older, is really just a recipe for them doing IT immediately .
because we're godless of her father's feelings. Jone and season ended up a looping in one thousand hundred and forty nine, and they just got married by a justice of the piece without anybody there. Yeah, of course.
But unfortunately, this marriage didn't really last long either. And within six months, john actually just ended up being Cecil and filed for divorce shortly after. At the time, the Robinsons told friends and family that Cecil had been a good man, but that he had a gambling problem that would ultimately ruined to the marriage. But the truth was actually that jone's parents had lied to her about ash having a heart attack in order to learn her back to texas. And once he was there, ash had successively convinced jone to leave her husband by offering to buy her a new car mingo new horses and telling her that um he needed her more than Cecil did big eggs to that so .
he didn't see I I don't know .
if Cecil had a gambling problem. Maybe that was just like a fragment of the truth or if he really didn't at all and I was just that, you know, I no matter what, they left her back there by saying that ash had a heart attack that's fucked up and .
he are just going to be honestly that's fucked up. Yeah, see, we crossed a very large boundary. The boundaries is so big.
this is functional at this point.
So this is toxic. This is not okay. Nothing i've been trying. I'm trying to be like, you know, parents love the kids to target, you know, SHE, wow, okay, you just love being near her coffee. Nice every morning. No, we crossed no, that I gave a big wide, wide boundary. And they just just get up trade over IT like horse, a horse and a horse ah now by .
one thousand nine hundred and fifty one, when he was just twenty years old, john had graduated from college and was twice married and twice divorce. So SHE was still living at home with her parents. At this point, he was really completely for your responsibility, but he was ambitious and eager to leave some kind of mark on the world.
So SHE started competing in horse racing tournament, again, around texas and the southern part of the country. And over the next twenty years, he would actually go on to win, quote, over five hundred tropes. And two of her horses won several top awards on the fifties and sixties.
And so SHE SHE was really SHE was really talent, really good yeah. And he really wanted to have SHE wanted to make some kind of name for herself, like in some professional endeavor. And SHE SHE said herself and succeeded.
SHE very much succeeded. And SHE couldn't .
have picked a Better time to be on A A unattached, an unencumbered. By the late one thousand nine hundred fifties and early sixties, the oil boom in in around texas made countless men into millionaire.
I know, just millionaire .
lion's dallas .
millionaire. This whole movement .
really transformed the city into kindling a playground for the only in the newly wealth.
It's tell us, it's telling you. Ws.
and as a member of the old guard, Jones Robinson was at the center .
of human side.
SHE is beautiful. SHE could have whoever the how he wanted he was. Look a joe dining at the finest restaurant.
SHE was being photographed everywhere because she's pretty much of social life, I would say. SHE was getting photographed at the Opera night clubs, fricking cafe. Easy then.
And according to thomson, quote the author, there were weeks when Jones name in photograph appeared six or eight times in the papers. Always he seemed to be flying off to a horse show or winging in from hollywood, where people algo her. I think it's the the motion bo mum, it's a nike club.
I looked out out of pronouncer in a table, a police. But then it's also like a night club. I think it's the motion mbo.
And I like IT I don't know. I've never been there. I haven't dither .
IT doesn't exist anymore. Her life sounds pretty fun. Yeah, I love free.
Like the should you read about?
And like good. But yeah, like you know, that sounds great for her love IT.
Now, despite all the trouble her father's overbearing presence had caused, Jones always made a point to share her life with her parents, no matter what turmoil intention there had been. SHE did love her parents that he had loved her dad years later, after her jone's death, her mother rail would tell her reporter, I often felt the only real love in my life was done. Every time I went out with my daughter, I had a wonderful time. SHE made me feel love. SHE made me feel wanted.
which my breaks my heart like .
ash wasn't like a real love for .
her know yeah it's like tim.
I know. I wonder if because they didn't necessarily have that with each other in their marriage that they they loved Jones to kind of make up so much extra love to shower with, not unlike a marital and anything like that but yes, IT was like a different kind of love that they yeah that they really devoted .
to that well, that it's like, I mean, as twisted as that love god at the end was like that lying about a heart attack and that like, yes, fucked up but like, but you know even that was done out of, if I think, desperation and like because of a love that is a little different than comprehend yeah but yeah it's like that this just feels like I don't know they needed a family therapy they do think but this was like the fifth I would benefit from IT yeah, I wasn't to help then but now i'd be like just, you know sit down with some people yeah.
back down they really do cocaine about IT yeah just that's five little intensify every yeah, everything will be great no, they were not doing coke. I'm not saying not just like loving because just the but meanwhile, ash continued to be a dominant presence in jone's life. He was finding ways to drive off any potential suitors before any real relationship could begin.
One former boyfriend, travis fell, recalled meeting ash for the first time. And he said, I could see the hate in his eyes that that old baster lived on me every way he could. I got the impression that john wanted to get away from her father, but he loved, but SHE both loved him and feared him.
He now as exciting as houston nightlife was by one thousand nine hundred and fifty seven, Jones had grown really tiring of the casual dates that we're not really going anywhere and a future of jet setting in hour shows just wasn't as exciting as IT once had been. IT was great, but IT wasn't everything he wanted. yeah.
Now, one afternoon in the spring, while attending a horse show, SHE ran into a man named doctor rally Foster. He was a family friend and actually one of the city's most well respected surgeons. And he was in the company of a Young man that he introduced, a doctor.
John hill Jones was immediately drawn to this, drawn to this. Doctor john hill, doctor john. He was a very good looking guy in in jone's eyes. He had an earnest personality. So later that afternoon, john called ryley Foster's wife, magi, and insisted that they set her up with john hill .
as soon as they could SHE really into.
Look at her now, after what you want. She's that that zone is a goal getter. SHE is.
He is now let's talk a little bit about john hill. Let's go. Let's to do IT. He was born one thousand nine thirty one, and he had been raised in the real ground day valley, which is a section of texas watch between mexico and the gulf.
His parents, remond in micro hill, had what one person described as a quote, business like marriage, based more on sustainability and practicality than on lover romance. Not what i'm personally looking for. Yeah, john was right in the middle of the three kids.
And he he was said to be the most dominant in energetic of the hill children. He was known mostly for his curiosity in pension, for taking things apart, to see how they work, tell everything functioned. okay.
Growing up, he and his brother Julian, where they had a really, really close bomb, they were almost inseparable. And that actually surprised some people because of their polar opposite personalities ties, which immediately reminded me of us, yes, absolutely. Because all the time people are like you guys really close.
And how. Like, that works, and I just works. And they developed a deep love for music that they bonded over between the two of them. And that would really kind of, they would maintain that love for the rest of their lives. And IT was a huge part of their relationship.
Now that passion that they shared came handy, came in handy at church, where myra was a strict follower of the doctor and raised her children to do likewise, a very directly religious woman. Okay, now IT was actually her idea for john to become a doctor. SHE constantly reminded him, quote, there are ten doctors in my family, and i'd be so proud of my two sons became the eleven and twelve.
Well, a lot of pressure I was just going to say no pressure about, yeah. Even despite a pronounced defiance striking his personality, though, john did make his mother's dream come true when he came home for Christmas break during his software in college, and he announced that he did want to attend medical school like john. I know he was like, hey, mom, a good news. I'm about to be number by the time he moved to houston for his medical residency, john had decided that there were too many hearts surgeons .
in the area of common problem.
Yeah, fuck that. And he was like, let me pursue plastic surgery because there's a lack of plastic surgeons this region. And I could also become, hello, rich, I just to say that that he doesn't her like let to do.
Now, while some of john friends and family remember him as quiet, unassuming Young doctor, there was also definitely a streak of arrogance and recklessness ss about him that people remember that occasionally caused problems. no. In one incident early on in his medical career, he performed surgery on an older person who was suffering alcoholism.
And this surgery was basically, he was performing IT in order to drain excess fluid from the man's stomach. I guess the procedure is a relatively common simple one, but there is a risk of puncturing the ball, which can cause a obviously massive action. You don't want to do that.
And that is precisely what happens. Whether he realized that he had had the poop pipe, yeah, for a black of a Better term. Rather, he realized he did that or not is unknown, but when he finished the surgery, john simply showed up the patient and walked away. In days later.
the men developed perata.
eis the roti and ended up dying. He now, when john was called before the senior surgeon at the hospital, he flatly denied having perforated the bottle, but said, if I did happen, IT was so minor that I didn't need a repair when IT did happen. Honey, you can't perfervid bow. You just can't like even minor.
You like.
you can do that. yeah. The surgeon that he had to talk to later said, I had a million defenses, but he was so charming and so eager that I didn't want a wrecked career over one mistake.
One mistake can cause somebody's life.
yeah. I don't know if I would call that like a mistake. you. yeah.
But anyway, right to friends joe and john, when they did get together, because they did, they made a bit of an unlikely pair to magi Foster, the woman who had set them up. But Jones request, the relationship actually seemed doomed to fail, in her opinion. Okay, SHE SHE was like, I am really.
what was that them up?
So set him up to knock him down. He was like, I didn't have any planes to do that until john called me and asked me too. Maggie said he knows horses and nights bs. And where power keeps his checkbook, john hill knows how to play the trump one and makes suiters. He's a mama's .
boy who wins .
this every time. Jones says, god dam, which is off, which is the like that Jones has got that she's Jones has got a lot. John doesn't like he's a boy.
Fuck up like she's like a daddies girl. He's a mos boy. It's like e yes, yes, great. But john, john, they did hit off.
Like I said, he was taken by his chairman, welcomed the opportunity to share her luxury ious world with somebody who still found houston society exciting. Well, yeah, I think in turn made IT exciting for her. Yeah, because she's been here the whole time.
She's just been living in this life. Yeah and IT was kind of getting dolled. Yes.
I think he was lovely. But now through someone else's eyes, that's like all this is pretty luxury exactly.
Now, more importantly, though, for one reason or another, ash Robinson didn't lose his mind at the idea of joe and john dating. This was the first time this had happened. In fact, when john brought john to meet her father and ask for his permission to get married, ash was more than hospitable and even took an interest in john and his career.
Maybe he saw his a daughter with a doctor. Maybe he just looked at this as a respectable career. The most thing, I definitely .
think so. And he's going to make a lot of money and he is setting himself up for .
a life in texas. Not exactly. Yeah so they're staying here.
He's got a lot of money there. Part the part of the social part of high society. He's a doctor, right? Yeah, I get in.
Years later, thomson speculated IT must have occurred to ash Robinson that the alliance was, on baLance, one that he could live with. Yeah, john was twenty six years old, and if he had to marry somebody, then john hill was not the worst of choices.
That's a thing. He doesn't seem like no bad guy so no, I did. I don't know anything about this case, so I am just space. You I don't know that he is about may be well, but right now I get why ash was like you yeah and I will .
tell you really on that. I think you're gonna go on the same role coster that I did.
I great roll costers.
So john, let's go. I do. I still don't know how I feel about john one way or the other.
And the sound so weird because we're talking about john. And I think, js, great.
Take earings out. Let's fine.
Well, yeah, we're not get on a really coaster job. I'll get Better to go. Okay, so john hill.
I should say, yeah now so ash didn't say no. yeah. Joan Johnson, john married in september of one thousand nine hundred and fifty seven, and they had ceremony held in her parents huge backyard.
IT was was good to goa. Just the next day. The society pages and all the local papers describes the wedding and storybook terms, like one outlet that reported the bridge of glow in an elegant White let out. The bridge was, I was right, the brighter glow in an elegant White light down. After the honeymoon, the couple accepted ash's invitation to live with them at his estate day, noting that he would help them financially while on the glegg to mention that I would also give ash the opportunity to keep close eye on his daughter and knew.
so I was going to say, I think that was definitely the reason he was like, wow.
you could just live IT in my house. It'll save so much for john, though, who had just begun his residency living with asian ray robbin son was a godson. Yeah, at the time, surgical residents were only paid one hundred and sixty five dollars a month.
decrease. Well, like breaking their backs. Yeah.
go through this. exactly. IT was barely anything during the work week that could range anywhere from sixty ten year, the hours.
And so the arrangement made IT of the couple not only saved on rent, but also benefit for meals and food and know electricity. And all of the things are yet to watch. Come into the rescue.
exactly. And in addition to all of that, as members of fused in society, most social events and other entertainment were paid for by jone's parents. So they got to live this lifestyle yeah.
and not have to pay for IT rub two pennies together, right?
Without the crushing financial stress that most medical students experience, john and john were able to enjoy the early days of their marriage, but john's frequent appearances in the society pages was a constant irritant to the ethics committee at the hospital. Oh, and they believe having a surgical resident among all that life was ethically questionable.
And they actually insisted that he sees his celebrity nightlife appearances if he was going to continue his residency. I can see that. Yeah, I want to know my doctors at all night thing .
about my doctor. Yeah, just that. Like.
he's nice to me. When I like my doctor say.
I love my doctor. He does a good job. Yeah, that's all I want to know about.
I don't want to open up a tboy to see him like, you know, hanging out with whoever just like club downing her stall. Yeah, want to see that good. Like do IT all bio means? go. I don't give a ship what you're doing.
doctor, but like dodge the photos yeah like .
doctor Jeffery is fine. Like just do you think yeah don't don't tell me about IT. So I like we don't need you showing everybody what you're .
doing exactly. And the ethics committee, they weren't the only thing that put distance between john and jon hill because they did since john had to eat yeah, his appearances. John schedule was usually really, really busy and required her to travel most days out of the week.
And john really hardly ever went with her even when he could. He didn't really have. There was making an effort.
No, the result of the circumstances was that they pretty much begin living separate social lives. John focused on his career and his music because, remember, he's really passionate about music. And joe on her horses and competition, but neither at this point, seemed resent fur, jealous of the other.
So they just have their own things.
And I never for a bit, in june of thousand nine hundred sixty, june actually ended up giving birth to a boy that the couple named Robert ashes in hill. And they nicknamed him urus. Excuse me, I should say ash, his grandfather nicknamed him boot.
boot. Yeah.
that's a Larry. I'm not .
sure what that was a good little boom, boom.
I love that. I just IT makes .
you laugh because it's .
so you I don't know that was like a texas thing. Like you? sure. Yes, like you. But the pregNancy in the birth had been actually difficult for john. And for john, the baby was the first sign of major changes in his life that he had been enjoying.
Oh, you mean he created a whole human in her body, and now things have to be a little different.
Yeah OK. And, you know, like he is dealing with the afterlife spects of a creating and delivering you. Yes, yes, little tough to big thing.
For one thing, as we all know, children are expensive, are time, consume very much. So, and john being in his final year residency and that they would need to continue relying heavily on action. Ria Jones parents for financial and practical actual support table. But ash Robin said, though, the both of his grandson could not have been a more celebratory ory event. He fucking all loved that way.
Like I like, he just wants to. Like I don't, I don't know, just love .
to know. He loves his family, like he really does love his family, family. He said, well, he loves most of his family, he said of his son and laws apprehensions about, you know, becoming a father.
I don't care if he's ready or not. Where very it's like i'm off. I'm happy.
Yeah like i'm sight .
of a graph and now i'm shut .
up the ilaria.
But of course, just as he had done with his own daughter, I should stored boot and wasted no time lab fishing him to get and attention. And were really closed for a long time in john in jone. They managed to survive the distance between them caused by their different interest in their social lives.
They kept up appearances for their neighbors and the society pages. But I think becoming parents, and you know, for john, specifically the baby, and more specifically ashes iteration of the baby, brought about new opportunities for criticism in the Robinson hill housel that was going to test the strength of their marriage. Yeah, by one nine hundred and sixty three, ash had become more vocally dismissive.
Ve of john telling friends that john contributed nothing to the household, seem to have no trouble spending his own money on A P na. Or other musical interests, but like not providing at all firm. His kid. Once at a party, ash was overheard telling another guest. Here comes that famous plastic surgeon, john's hill, who never even bought his son a jar of baby food. Can you imagine being a party power like having that conversation and you was like and like hon is like rito johhny ah is right over there and europe between that chin in that moment and and that's .
like a that's like mike drop boom and that's like he's not even buying his kid baby food and eyes. That's not a good look, my friend that is not a good look.
Yeah and thing was in the world of houston, ite john was checking all the right boxes as he was climbing up the social letter. But as long as he lived in his father in loss house, he was never going to be considered to be truly successful.
In fact, when his colleague doctor neth and rough offered him a position at his private practice, IT came with the stipulation that john move himself and his family out of the Robinson, his house and into his own home. John was obviously very happy to accept this offer because tensions had gone past a point of being manageable, being any of manageable yeah. And the five thousand dollar personal loan roth was giving him was a nice, a nice asset that helps. So while the opportunity to establish himself in private practice was incredibly exciting, there was still the matter of ash Robinson, or more specifically, how john was going to tell ash roberson, but not only what he no longer need his financial support, but that he would be moving away with the two most important people in the .
man's life on boy, yeah.
Not surprisingly, ash responded poorly to the news. Not shocked, Jones insisted that he was for the best in the house, said that they found for their little family was only a few miles away, so IT wasn't like they wouldn't be able to see each other every day. Regardless, john had made up his mind.
And in one thousand nine hundred and sixty three, the family moved to their own home about ten minutes away from the son or no yeah. At the same time, john eagerly joined ross surgical practice as a junior partner, anticipating at a really bright future. Unfortunately though, the hills would have, would not have much time to celebrate the positive developments in their lives, because just a few weeks after the move, this is really sad.
John's brother, jillian, was found dead in the act of a family friend's home. He h. There was an empty bottle of our bijude beside him. Oh, youth. Now, nobody really knew why he had ended his life, but there was a predominant theory that Julian had struggled with anxiety and depression for a long time, and that he may have been living his life as a closeted gay man. So so he had like a lot on him yeah, in the bleak future that he envision ed for himself because he lives in texas and in the sixties, at this point, value really sixties, that had just become too much for him to bear. But because this happened right as they were starting to kind of, you know, get out on their own, yeah set them back at a big time because lot the best friends, john and Julian, that said, yeah and IT was the first tragedy that they really went through us a couple yeah but unfortunately, IT was just the beginning .
of a downtown like.
yeah and they would experience a lot more tragedy in the years that follow Julian's death in the start of john's professional career, john, john continued to drift slowly, but standing apart. After joining the practice, john, he really threw himself fully into building a name for himself at the practice and among the social circles. He acquired or achieved pretty much all the homeworks of a successful surgeon.
And when he wasn't occupied with work, john enthusiastically pursued his musical interest, which left little time for his wife or his son, john. John often was pretty upset and lamented that john hardly knew their son and never really made any attempt to engage in the typical father son activities like campaign or sports. Sir litter anything at all that's .
shitty IT is and to to not make an effort and that's the thing.
Her her complaints about this lack of a relationship or not baseless because .
is like I get that you're trying to like move up on the lot like you're trying to know yeah be successful but to not make any time for your child that's on human and it's like IT .
would be one thing if were pouring everything into work that would still be but something that I would want to talk about yeah but I was like you're pouring a lot .
into work and your social .
state and your social status and your personal hobbies yeah and leaving nothing for ourselves.
Not impressed by .
that because since moving into their home, john had spent thousands and thousands of dollars renovating the place to accommodate his interest in his tastes. And despite a substantial increase in his salary, actually, within just one year of private practice, he was making one hundred and sixty eight thousand dollars annually, which would be like making one point five billion dollars today. But the family was struggling with finances even at that level.
because he was going so.
because he was going so hard on his own shit, not even like pouring IT into a lobar. But the most important thing to john, in his own eyes, was to build a music room in the house where he could retreat, like what you found, retreating, retreating from what? man? You don't see your kid.
You don't see your kid ever. He just wanted to retreat to play or listen to music. And after contracting with houston based engineer Lewis lewi earth, john told the man, since I was a little boy, IT has been my dream to build such a um moneys no object.
The only goal is perfection. I like money is an object. You have a fucking familiar reign.
You're spending all of this money now.
Years later, li were called his initial conversation with john, noting that the man was not just insistent, but he said he actually seemed possess wow. And he was like, he was so obsessed about this, really intense about this. Not only did the music room dig the hills deeper into debt, but IT also gave john e one more place where he could escape his family, which that he did not need yeah by the sum of one thousand nine hundred and sixty eight.
After years of frustration, Jones demanded that he take a few days off and drive with her to pick up boot from summer camp, where he'd been for four weeks. He went to like a little little program. John agreed to take the trip, but neither of them knew that I would be a trip that only further placated things in their marriage.
So here of jone is being like, can you actually show up for once? yeah. And then the one time this mother fucker does show up, IT changes everything. IT was at camp real vista that john first man, a woman named and curse don't be, was a woman who had change his life dramatic, don't even like john and Jones, and had visited the camp that we kend to pick up her children one afternoon.
As john was sitting with other families in the mass half for lunch, he just leaned over and introduced himself to his end there in her son, who were seated right by him and over the course of the weekend, janine just kept open into one another at the camp while jone was off somewhere uh you know taking care of their fucking child ah, come on. And when they return to houston a few days later, john called in he was like, hey, oh, he just had her number. Yeah, he got her number over the course of that bonding time where he was supposed to be showing up for his son.
I tell you, he call them and and he said, oh, I had my film developed, took a venture pictures while we were away this weekend. Do you want na see some of the pictures, huh? I would love to meet up and show you some of the pictures.
And that's IT just like a pictures. Yeah, totally, everything, totally.
And knew that john was married to a society woman, know less, but he figured he would entertain the little fantasy for a little while longer before ultimately shutting IT down for the .
sake of decency and the court on, yeah, what the fuck? Both you, what the fuck.
But the problem was he liked the attention of fuck off. And more than that, he really liked john hill.
Well, he's married, so 哼。

The afternoon photo sharing was soon followed by a lunch, then another lunch, and before long and in john were engaged in exactly the kind of relationship that and said he had planned to avoid from the start please.
Um yeah bridge, please.
after a few weeks of clandestine meetings I love the word clandestine .
kes IT sound so much. I like a secret .
assad meetings bullshit. But trail growth meetings, the clan dan too.
we go. You have time for that.
yeah. Now you're a good though. So after a few weeks of those secret meetings, john was up front with them about his intentions, SHE later recalled. He informed me that from this moment on, I was to consider my time fully taken up by doctor john hill.
I'm sorry .
what he was like, we remind, I want you mark territory.
This is really gross. agreed. This is really gross.
Yeah, well, was like, okay, what about your wife, john, and you asking .
about his wife? Yeah.
I love that. Did you about your wife here? Oh, what? Like, oh, I don't shit about her. Yeah, let's, let's ask about her now that it's not sounding so great team exactly. yeah.
So when he asked about Jones, john said their relationship had been over for quite some time and he was, quote, trapped in a marriage. He had to get out, shut up like then get out of IT and give me a call on self over the years, he said, they drove in apart. They were living two separate lives.
They had very different interest, different goals. SHE wanted to raise their kid. He did in. And by the end of summer, though, john and and had become lovers, and now he had to figure out how he was going to get out of his marriage.
Fact that this man met this woman, and this woman met this man out of some children taking up their children. They be ashamed .
of themselves. One hundred. And now, one fall day, john returned home from a horse show to find a note. I repeat a note. They've been married like I I wanted say, like pretty ten years .
at this point. He did not burger from sex of the city.
That so I wrote that in you literally, I will show IT to you. I literally wrote that in my notes. Should the note that he wrote, her said, things had not been, things have not been good between us. I've gone away for a few days to find myself.
I'm sorry.
I can. And me, this is what I wrote, obviously infuriated at the equivalent .
of burgers. I'm sorry I can know.
I am sorry I can. So let me, I do a post. Oh my god, I can't.
Was the same level, the same level that is so obviously fucking enraged. Jones called the surgical practice over and over and over and over again. But her husband never returned.
Her husband and the father of her child, correct? Never returned her. yeah. So that night he went to her parents, which I would be like daddy.
Let ash know, honey.
you like your daddy.
know this. That night he went.
her parents SHE told them what happened. And ash is instinct. This means is a, his instinct was to hire a private detective to find all the information he possibly could to destroy his summer law.
And you know what this goal? I mean, just parent things. You know.
sorry, if you are my kid, it's gloves off. You are my kid and you leave. You're fucking in my grandson, your son boot. I'm sorry of joe and boat ashes .
and let this go.
I would never know either. Would I should get the coast guard on IT like he's this is on this digit. So Jones managed to you deescalate her dad.
But that mean it's going to talk about good friend to talk about so SHE SHE d asked him in the moment. But the next day, when he had got ten, over the initial shock of an abandonment, yeah, he also felt pretty vindictive. And in the two weeks that followed, SHE told everybody about what her husband had done, how he simply walked out on her. And and SHE was like, I hope I could can turn ish .
his entire reputation yeah, I mean, I be i'm tom petty .
too like that would be which I have some petty tatti on my body yes, like you walk out on your wife and your child. And then the worst part of this, and I feel like gilligan, the worst part of this to me, is finally, after the word had spread all around houston, john called Jones finally and asked if they, me won't answer any calls before that. But now that now people are talking, then you want talk to me, yeah, oh, okay.
I be like, i'm busy. I am now with this is just hot krol shit. With her best friend waiting gesture on the corner, john and john met at a downs. Ora SHE SHE had bf right there when they meet to discuss their marriage in the future. IT did not take more than a few minutes for this conversation to turn into a shouting match, and john just got up and left, can take the heat, heat.
So when john returned to where her friend was waiting, the two women jumped in their car and follow john, and the woman that they could now see was in his vehicle with him. This is so growth. He brought his mistress to meeting, to discuss marriage, like waiting the car while I figured this out.
This is so equi. I know it's giving.
if you're watching real housewives of my ami right now, that's what it's giving my baby. Lisa.
this is just really growth .
is horrible .
like I feel for Jones so hard. I do too like this is just really growth.
You will feel for Jones for the rest of ever yeah, I really do. So after a slow motion car chase back to john's office, john confronted john and and the woman who was in the car, demanding to know whether they were having an affair. Now this is where SHE gets wild as book. To her absolute a astonishment, john lied and told his wife, quote, he was having an affair with this woman's husband and that he was being black man T. What we what he said.
he was having an affair with her husband. Yeah, which is was not true. Why didn't he just say i'm having an affair with this woman? I couldn't .
tell you .
that is the strangest lie I have ever heard.
I don't know if that was because and was right there.
Like no, there's a litter like you can try find try string of logic there. There's no string of logic either. Wait, you're having an affair. Why you lying about the person you're .
having an affair with? I don't know. I the only just like, I think because back then, like being gay was so frown upon that people thought I was something you could be cured of so maybe he thought he was being like all like there's something wrong with me and leg he'll forgive me for this.
I don't know about that logic.
That logic is ridiculous, but that's the only thing that I can see as to why.
Like.
yeah exactly. So Jones is are stunned by this news yeah and also found IT very hard to believe. And then SHE became even more suspicious when, just a few weeks later, anonymous notes started arriving in the mail, telling her her husband was having an affair. But with am, yeah. And that end was only one of several women .
that you've been cheating with. This guy seems to have all the time. yeah. Suddenly all his time is just open. Yeah.
he's got lots of time. I got to end. He's a plastic surgeon.
This really is the house life of my ami. This is, I love. I don't have time taking out with my child or no, my child, but I do have something, but I haven't .
like a handful is.
wow, okay, yeah.
So by then he was more or less living in the ends house. And i'd cut off all communication with Jones.
I take back my original al john.
I know I was leading you. I was leading you a bit street. Didn't know any of the time, john.
Yeah and when I say my opinion of john is like i'm not sure about him, i'm sure about i'm about this. I'm just not about a later and more out there. But so by then he he's living in and house. He cuts off all communication with jone, and in response, john was like, i'm going to do with my dad d's idea when to hire a private investigator. So SHE hired a private detective to follow her husband, which is how he learned for real, like one hundred percent solid proof that he and and, and we're having an affair, and that he was living within SHE didn't even know where he was living because he just left. And then he .
finds out that he was living there are so shameful.
How shame for of them. And slipping with my husband by qua.
Now throughout the .
fall of one thousand nine hundred sixty eight, the hills marriage trade are devolved into a strange dance of jealous stocking. Jones attempts to get excuse. Jones attempts to get incriminating information .
on her husband. Just a orse, just a whole bunch .
of nasty divorce.
Pretend you don't know each other. Pretty sure this guy doesn't want to know his child anyway, so just let them go off together. And you know it's fine and it's my socks.
It's something. But instead of justice now got divorced, they've jone drove around and curse neighbourhood started shopping where and shopped follow john regularly in the hopes that SHE would catch him in the midst of the affair by the end of the year. Private detectives have confirms that john had taken his own bachelor apartment, which signaled a jone that their separation was yeah only permanent I just thirty seven years old. He was about to become a divorcee for the third time. And that shame, I say, I personally don't think there's any shame in IT, but I can't imagine having to go through .
that in this time period in the self place and and like in high society, all three of those things lying on her. I didn't take that into account when I first was like scheduler ce, what the fuck? I've totally forgot that she's been divorced to other time, right? And that in that place and in time and in that whole society, that that would be looked .
at one divorce alone .
with exactly but three. I can understand why he was a little scared.
exactly. And so SHE was just going through IT at this point. I think this is when SHE SHE hit like brick ed out.
Yeah, that sounds awful. yeah.
So SHE could I think before he was feeling like predictive and he wanted to get some kind of proof of this. And SHE didn't know what he was going to get when he got there. But then all of this just came to a screaming hold and hit her all at once.
Well, that's the thing. When you get you can get so many little bits and pieces of like and proof, right? But when you get that one that just here and really shows you that is happening, it's a different els, a different hit, you can know without knowing IT. And then when you know IT, it's like all in the way that hit differently is like .
each and like you can for a lack of a Better way to say you can't lie .
yourself anymore. No, you can you once you see IT rain from in your face, it's like over because you, I should say you can convince yourself, but not so that's exactly my x from one million years ago. The same that as well that I was this. You remember I, everybody worse, there were a little bits of pieces. I would find that I was like, very clearly he's cheating on me very clearly but when I got the one when I when I was able to to call that number and and got that voice on the answered who was not a not a man yeah that he was under general name I think IT was that was jim yeah SHE this person was labeled jim and his phone and and I just thought jim spoke a little strange through text message to him yeah and so when I called that number and he was not gym, he was not gym.
Called on the other landside my name is not .
it's not gentle and he said, who are you and I said.
oh, girl and they mean her became friends so I know I that you do the other woman, I love IT now john wasn't quite there no, no.
this is a very different situation that we did not have children together. And you weren't divorce ever. Now when I was not still learned, that's great. It's great. It's awesome. I love you say .
so unfortunately, had gone through IT sh'd gone through IT. So SHE called john, and SHE pleaded for him to return, saying that SHE wanted to work through their differences, like he wanted to give this of a fighting chance, you know. But he explained that he was too wrapped up with, and he couldn't see how he could just walk away. That is from an devastating and to beat told.
but you can walk away from the mother of your child.
And your child like to be told, wow, I can't just walk away from this woman after this man has blocked out on you and your baby.
That's a really disgusting.
That's onesta despicable. That is now jone's doorbell ring one day in november, and he answered IT to find a lawyer standing before her with a divorce catch. Ose being served papers.
The document alleged that despite john's attempts, sibling, his wife's behaviour had had to a reconcilable differences, and that he was seeking turned the marriage. Jones was stunned and enraged, and SHE showed the citation to her father, who saw he would take care of everything. Now, this is wild.
I was like, no, i'm to take care. This like, this is not happening. And a few days later, john gets a letter from john asking that quote, SHE become reconciled with him and forgive his transgressions. The letter also noted specific details about his intention to pay back all the money that he had borrowed from Jones parents and explicitly stated, IT is distinctly understood that this is not my idea or intention to influence any judicial action, no pending.
Do dash have something to do with this?
I cannot .
confirm or denied.
I can neither confirm nor deny. Many people believe that ash did have something to do with IT OK I, but no one body can prove that people thought so um which is leads me to my next paragraph. Despite being on john's letter head and bearing his signature, the tone heavily suggested that ash use whatever influence he had to force john to reconsider ending his relationship with jone.
He was like, allegedly you're not going to leave my life. yep. Either way, though, Jones was happy to have avoided this great embarrassment that he thought a third divorce would be and what everybody would have shamed her for. And everything that happened, not what standing SHE was pleased that john was going to end his relationship with an, and finally come home. I regret to inform you that her happy.
this would not last long. No break in my heart.
Yeah, this is a tragic case. No one knows what one hundred percent did lead john hill to sign this letter. So obviously allegedly prepared by his father and but in doing so he put himself in an unexpectedly ly difficult position. He had agreed to return home to jone, but he had yet to end his relationship with ann.
Oh my god, john, get IT fucking together. Please get IT together. And now, and is starting .
to get the field that was starting to get the feel ing, he was pulling away.
And you get IT together too. So jesus Christ, every everybody together.
the writing is on the wall. Kay, no, in response, and push start on john in those working in his surgical practice for information about his finances and .
his whereabouts. Now he's just doing the same thing.
The end that he did done exactly, exactly. And because she's like, you know, trying to track him down all the time. The implication was either that he intended to sue him or he was hoping to get a lot of his marriage. Well, to make matters worse, ash Robinson intended to make sure that his son in law lived up to his end of whatever bargain. The two men had allegedly struck a lot, and allegedly, and while john attempted to manage, manage, I say, quote, and the two parallel worships, he was constantly followed, intimidated and threatened by anonymous men who were allegedly hired by ash.
So there is nothing to confirm nor deny that those men were hired by ash. A somebody saying, and I just think that might be what happened.
it's texas high society .
because feels tex is .

Now, whether the rather, whether for the sake of everybody, safety or some other reason, john made the decision to move back with jone at the end of the year. I hate this. It's a lot. So in the first months of one thousand nine hundred and sixty nine, Jones tried to make several changes. And what he saw, self improvements aimed at, keeping john heavy, like SHE, was just trying to do anything SHE possible they could to save .
her marriage and is nothing like .
getting cheated on. yeah. He meanwhile, ran himself ragged red, splitting his time between life at homework and, of course, more cleanthis time. That isn't like the word secret. Growth means with them. After everything that had happened, alan was growing tiresome of the affair inserted, demanding that john decide between his wife or her like Christ on a cracker.
You know what john got, damn, is, is what I said.
add insulted injury. At the same time, john's music room was finally completed with a final Price tag of just over a hundred thousand dollars. This music room cost more than their entire house. This one room inside of their home was more expensive than their entire home. And it's like what and it's just for him.
So he's just getting fun present yeah it's a fun reward after everything yes, okay.
And the room was exactly as as the envision good. And he gave him reason a reason to stay home with joe, but didn't solve the problem because now he's just shutting himself in that room. Yeah, he's home, but his. But is he really there now? Despite the letter he presented to his wife and whatever attempts at self improvement jone was making, there was just too much resentment between the two of them that marriage to ver survive.
Within the first three months of the air, john and Jones spent most of the time shouting at each other or harbors like harbison's it's likely that they would have ended up divorce, had done not come down with what appeared to be a serious case of the flu in early march, around the fifteenth of march, her friends became rather concerned about her health. You've been sleeping a lot more than usual. SHE didn't believe, seem to have any energy for even the most basic social functions.
According to Jones, SHE and john gotten a fight over dinner the previous evening, and after struggling to fall asleep, he gave her a tranquilizer, which made her exceedingly tired. Jones two friends became more alarmed the next day when they stopped by to check on her and learned that he had spent all day vomiting, and they became even more in alarmed in the days that followed as her illness had progressed considerably. Now, by march seventeen, for two days later, Jones was constantly exhausted, experian experiencing regular belts of vomiting, and unfortunately there as well.
That afternoon, when the maid went to check on her after john had left for work, he's like leaving. While his wife is in this condition, they're trying to figure out their marriage. He is the made found zone lying on the bedroom floor, covered in and feces. And that's putting IT lightly. Oh my god.
There were signs around .
the room that he had tried to make IT to the bathroom, but was too weak to even, oh my god, that breaks my heart. It's horrific. The next day, rya Robinson, jone's mother, stopped by to visit her daughter. And that's when he learned the condition that jone isn't SHE had .
no idea that also breaks my heart because like when you're like you're married and like that you're that sick. You're supposed to be married .
to someone who will take care of you and you can doctor .
and you can even count on him for that. Like that's really sad like the SHE must have felt in that moment because I can't imagine I think that all the time when I get sick about like single parents yeah and like what do you do? I'm like my gosh like it's just like cares my soul about about IT all alone and but to actually have a partner or court on cal partner and still can count on them to take care of you fucked like that. Such a bomber .
absolutely fucked. So ra was hora. Yeah absolutely horrified at the state that he found her daughter in and demanded to know why john hadn't called an ambuLance.
Because, like you said, he's a doctor.
Is john? No, this isn't okay. Yeah, like plastics surgery, he went through all experiments and you're a doctor. And SHE was told by jan that he was, quote, making arrangements for a june to go to sharp town hospital, where SHE would have intensive care n be treated like a queen.
I mean, I think it's that hard to make arrangements calling ambuLance now at the time.
because obviously he was so distracted by the state that her daughter was in IT didn't occur to aria that sharp's town hospital was twice as far away as the text texas medical center, like you should have just been brought there. And at the time I also didn't strikers. Strange that under the obviously dire circumstances, john was prioritizing Jones being treated like a queen but not treating her like one himself yeah doesn't make any sound and it's like.
no, he doesn't need to be treated like a queen. He needs to be to be treated meat like SHE just needs to be treated yeah .
so after some brief argument between ash, john, the three ray, john and ash managed to get joe into the car and john rove to sharp's fill, while ray attended to june in the back seat.
why? This is wild. And that was a .
much further away hospital than the one that they could have gone to. Jones was admitted to sharp's stan hospital in march eighteen and nineteen sixty nine for what doctors immediately assumed was a severe case of the flu. But that would be debated upon four years to come.
At first, john's tone in that of the doctor he had asked to provide care for his wife was casual and IT hardly fit the situation at hand. IT was only when one of the nurses check Jones blood pressure that they realized the grave danger SHE was in. In addition to the vomitings in dia, jone's blood pressure was parallel, sly, low, indicating that again, he was in real danger.
Yeah, doctor walter berto, not. I believe IT is were called. I dropped everything.
I went over. I cancelled out my whole schedule. We should. Her blood pressure, I don't know a lot about IT. I know you well .
was a sixty over forty yeah.
like SHE was he was.
He should have seen that. Oh, as a doctor he shall have seen that something was die of this here. Yeah.
blood pressure. Sixty over forty SHE actually should have been in shock and basic on the verge of death, but the doctor found her sitting up in bed based on the symptoms SHE and john had reported. The doctor assumes that he had contracted some kind of food poisoning, or may be a bacteria infection, which could possibly explain the wide range of symptoms SHE had described. The attending doctors attempted to get jone's blood pressure up while they waited on lab results from blood in fecal samples. But within just six hours after being admitted, Jones kidney started to fail.
Oh no.
Now, by eight pm. That night, doctors diagnosed her with kidney failure and actually considered moving her to a nearby hospital, where he could be put on a dialysis machine. We should. He's saying that he made all these arrangements for her to be treated there, but they don't even have a diet.
I was just going to say IT doesn't look like everybody.
He's ready for her. And at that point, john was far too fragile to be moved. So instead they wanted to attempt A A perennial dialysis, inserting a tube into the stomach, enforcing a blood purifying solution through her until he could be stabilized. But the problem was that the physicians wanted john's approval before beginning the procedure, and he was nowhere to be found.
what?
John hill didn't reserve this until nearly eleven P. M. And by that point the surgeons had gone home hoping that they could still perform the life saving procedure in the morning. So he stopped by his wife, spad side, throughout the night as john slipped in and out .
of consciousness.
Sometime in middle of the night, SHE yelled out her husband's name, and he woke up just in time to see. And this is very graphic. A torrent of blood raced up from her insurance and splash out of her mouth that emerge had been very, very severe. And despite their best efforts to stabilize her, joe Robinson hill died in the early morning hours of march nineteen thousand and nine hundred and sixty nine.
Holy shit.
like. And they were just about to do a life saving proceed.
horrifying death beyond, oh, I feel so awful beyond immediately following her death.
John's reaction seemed to Normal. We talk about this a lot, but IT seemed good. Normal. yeah. For a man who had just lost his wife, he wailed, cloud these, screaming no over and over and over. But his hospital staff tried to comfort him.
Several did find IT odd that rather than called Jones parents, johns's first reaction was to call his own mother and a friend of his doctor jim oat, who live just a few miles away. When doctor jim daddy oates arrived at the hospital, they were both shocked to find that nobody had even washed the body yet and that john was still covered in blood. So god daddy began washing jone as carefully as he could while john walked in and out of the room, frequently interrupting her.
But now, according to texas law, anybody who dies in a hospital must be autopsied by the coroner within twenty four hours of their death to determine the cause of death before the body is released. Wow, I know I thought I was great. Yeah, one doctor berton not informed john that the corner must be called. He acknowledged what the man was saying, but immediately instructed doctor oates to call a funeral home and have them come claim Jones body to prepare for her burial as soon as possible.
Um no, yeah, I would. You Better find out what happened to my wife for like that would wouldn't be for what you think what the hell happened? You would think 洗发水。 But IT was the flu. I'm sorry that's that. You think that's the flu.
I feel like even if IT started as the flu, what the fuck happy or a bacteria infection and it's like, but why wit you want to be absolutely sure why would knew exactly? And if it's law, then let IT happen. And your why would you ever step in between them and your doctor, you know that that's a thing, you know the law and it's like why step in between IT if it's only gonna you more information I don't know.
huh? So the doctor managed to reach the corner sometime between foreign six A M, but by then the body had already been illegally removed from the hospital and taken to the funeral home to be prepared. What later, sometime after seven, I am the coroner would make his way to the funeral home, intending to do the autopsy there.
yeah. But by the time he arrived, the evolving process had already. Are you shitting in? The technician at that point was moving onto .
the cosmetic procedures. what?
Now, despite the embalmed process already having begun, the coroner stopped the procedure and began his autopsy. What he took requisite tissue samples and other biological samp. I guess he's just trying at that point. I want to think at that point is like I don't need my fucking and licence surfed away from me for not doing an .
autopsy like you doing what you can do at this point and I think that's what I was trying to follow the law exactly.
So he took reck was red, was excused tissue samples and other biological samples that could possibly held identify the cause of death. But as far as he could tell from his examination, there was nothing to indicate what caused done to the client sock.
And I think IT felly goes so fast.
IT was a matter of days. yeah. He thought I could have been a cause of a cute pink critias, which could have accounted for a lot of her symptoms, but there were still other symptoms that didn't quite fit.
Now, nevertheless, pinker Y. A. Titus was listed as jone's cause of death in the funeral was scheduled for march twenty first one thousand and sixty nine. But in the days that followed, questions and rumours began circulating among jone and john social circles.
The top two questions on every boy's lips were, how could john, a doctor, not have recognized the signs of penguinia? That's what it's fucked in me. And two, why hadn't he taken heard of the hospital? So actly ash Robinson had his own questions and suspicions.
I am positive. Rather than direct them at john, he instead went to the district attorneys office the day of his daughter's funeral. News of Jones death had been in all of the papers, and all of the papers were citing panky a.
Titus as the case. But ash explained to the assistant district attorney, I D. Mic master, that he had reason to believe john was responsible for his daughter's day, and he cited the following as evidence.
He, so as a number one, john had been perfectly healthy up to that point. yeah. Number two, SHE only became ill after eating food and take taking medication that was given to her by jon.
Number three, he was obviously very, very sick the days leading up to her death, and john didn't take her to a hospital or allow anyone in the house to come see her. That's weird, according to him. Number four, he promised to take her to sharp's town hospital because he was going to receive the best care possible there.
But when they arrived, the hospital had no I, C, U. Available for her. Like no, no Better available in the ICU. And again, like I just noted earlier, they lacked several of the machines and services that joe.
that's the thing. It's like he's saying, like I made arrangements. You didn't make any arrangement. No dishes. I mean that insane in now.
Number five, he said, despite having died within the window of time, necessitating an autopsy, her body was was whisked away from the hospital to the funeral home before the coroner. Even arrow, yes, but I don't even know how they managed to yeah way with that.
I know.
And finally, he said he consulted with several area physicians who claimed many of Jones and did not sound like symptoms of penguin tis.
I mean, I don't blame ash for that, at least questioning this. I would also question this yeah just going to take this like, okay, well, I guess that how he did move on and no.
in the midst of this crazy forms like i'm not saying john did this one where where the other but if that was my child and the circumstances surrounding this strange.
sudden death, absolutely there IT is texas law here that he was supposed to have an autopsy. You broke and it's like and you went out of your way to make sure he didn't strange that that would be weird to me because I be like, no, my first thing as her like parent would be, I wanted know exactly what happened here, tell me everything I want, all the details. I want to know what happened .
here and ask her husband why would know that's .
a thing as as her husband, you should also feel the exact same way. And why don't .
you you don't because you're strain .
and then you are yeah .
so mic master, the district to ney there listened patiently while as spoke. And while he was speaking, he assumed that the man was still lost in his grief and just needed to get these accusations out of his symptoms.
But the system.
all of this system, oh, but with each point, ashes theory got maybe not stronger, but certainly more. Paul to the man is interesting at the very least. yeah.
And the assistant D. A, they are knew sora said the da. He's the assistant D, A. He knew that when someone is wealthy and powerful, as ash Robinson spoke, he was at the very least to be afforded the courtesy of being taken seriously.
So he did, yes, but by the end of the conversation, mcmaster said, you know what, i'm onna. Look into this. But that was not enough for ash Robinson.
He insisted that they needed to get somebody to the funeral home that day to stop his daughter's body from being put into the ground beyond the reach he was. Like you, I don't know. We're not looking into this.
We're doing something about, yes, knowing this would likely be impossible. Make master none's said he would do his best. So he reached out two doctor, Joseph, a hick, and doing my best with that pronunciation, I did look at up.
He was the well respected coroner of Harris county. And midnight aster explained to everything about the situation to him. At first of him, j couldn't believe what he was hearing.
I was he supposed to stop a funeral, right? As IT was beginning and demand to reexamine, that's big desk, but he knew that make master wasn't going to ask this if he didn't think IT was important. So he made his way down to the funeral home where he started reviewing the evidence and preparing to examine the body as mourners began arriving in the power.
This is the honest one of the most wild things. As far as he could tell, the entire process, from the death to the embalming, had been complete in other chaos. This is just a lot. And although many of the tissue samples taken by the corner were still available, the fluid samples had already been discarded. Not that IT would have mattered much, because the samples were taken as to the involving process have gone, which is likely why they .
were discard provably so.
After talking with the coroner and reviewing the documentation, he decided there was no need to remove the body from the casket or disrupt the funeral. And he said, I think I can make a determination from the notes and the samples that are still available. And like you've gotto go on with this, feral people are upstairs.
Yeah, like he's just trying to talk about pressure. Yeah while the Harris county corner reviewed the case, ash started gathering evidence he believed would prove john guilty of murder. Most significant, he believed, were the reports from the made and the Butler F, V, and archie Green or married couple F, E F F F, E, Green explained how he had found zone on the morning that he was taken to the hospital .
that awful when he found her right.
and how he had seen john give john pills. And SHE, too, suspected he was responsible for her dam for john's death. And he also gave ash a bottle of pills that he claimed john had given her for her own headaches and told the men that just after john had given her the bottle boot told her, F, E, don't take those pills.
You'll go to sleep like my mother did and never wake up. Oh, my god. And boot was little at that point. Oh, but I don't know if you really said that, but .
that claims braking, that's the true or not. That's a heart breaking sentence.
Yes, the evidence was curious to say the least, but make master couldn't get around the fact that and this is just kind of like his opinion, he was like, if you guys are so frightened to by john hill and you think he's a murderer, why you still employed by him?
Because he's paying them? Because because he's doctor, that unlike what they can just quit, I think I don't a silicon of o like come on and it's also like because i'm fun terrified of him. Well, that's the other thing. It's like I don't in OK, so I care about zone and boot. I'm just going to leave this house and be like, well, then they're pretty scary so by a good luck.
good today and it's also texas. They weren't to a job .
anywhere else yeah if they left Jones yeah it's like.
but a week or so later, doctor ym tric presented his report to the district of attorneys office, much to the disappointment of asha, and said, I know after conducting his own tests on the tissue samples, the doctor concluded that Jones had not died from pinker a tides, but he said SHE died from acute focal happetite s.
According to the coroner, the blood test conducted upon Jones arrival at the hospital ruled out any bacterial infection, and the toxicology report showed no evidence of poison. But IT had been taken after involving ing. So IT was possible that I could have been corrupted, but to his best and determination, determination, he died from acute focal .
hepatitis.
Okay, this will change. The results of the second autopsy were just as crushing for ash Robinson, who still believed that john was responsible for his daughter's death. So he was not done yet. He, he's a dad. He assembled a panel of doctors to review the findings, including greedy holmen, one of john hills closest friends, which I was like, interesting that you would put him on the panel yeah, the panel maybe that's like maybe it's a show like that .
that this is somebody who could be by, if right. But we'll see if he didn't just look at the information from an unbiased a doctor.
Maybe I was pointed yeah, maybe was. So the panel was immediately skeptical of the findings, with one of the physician saying, I will stake my reputation, but he did not have habitats well, in addition to the fact that Jones had none of the tell tale signs of petit s like john dis, they all noted that habitats is almost never fatal within the first few days of symptoms. Yeah, so they were like adults.
They were like, this is pretty well now encouraged by the opinion of his assembled panel, ash was hell bent on seeing that john was brought to justice one way or another into eight. In this pursuit, he hired former district attorney Frank briscoe, a man known for meticulous search and an impressive number of wins under his belt. That spring, briscoe went to doctor yum chic to post some hypothetical questions.
He wondered, was IT possible for somebody to inject another person with epithetic? Or could someone inject another person with a bacteria that could cause hepatitis? Well, now, yim chick acknowledge that when I came to such things, pretty much anything was possible.
But those scenario were highly in problem yeah and instead, yeah, he chick believed that jone likely contracted the hepatitis from eating shellfish on a recent trip to mexico city h which is possible yeah but then a whole panel of doctors disagreed was like, no. So it's just honestly, at this point a bunch of doctors disagree. He said, yeah, whatever information brazil was after his chick clue wasn't going to change his opinion on the cause of death.
He said he died of appetite. S yeah, like, I believe IT, yes, i'm nothing. I believe that he says he in late may, another surprising piece of news came the Robinson's way, though just under three months after his wife's death, john married and john hill and and curse were married.
You've gotta be shedding me now. IT gets worse. Are you fucking kidding? The news reached ash by way of the gossip coome. That's how he found out. And he went straight to briska, who assured ash that this turn of events actually could be valuable should the case make its way to a grandma that doesn't look good, done, look good. So birds go was like, honestly, i'm so sorry that like you're going through this as is terrible but like this could be good for our case because this is like.
even if you didn't do anything, dude.
three.
what what do you think that's gonna look like you to like? Come on.
you two doing now, in fact, less than you are. Earlier, john had provided jone with a document swearing he would give up his mistress, commit to working on the marriage.
So the news of this marriage, this new one, not only meant that john had not given up his relationship of an, but IT also implied that he never had any intention of reconciling of joe and potentially could have been seeking another way out of the marriage, which, like I said, helpful to a potential case, of course. So with brazos help, ash took the new information to I D mic master, hoping that the assistant district attorney would reconsider taking the case to a grand jury. And as luck would have IT, something about the story had been nagging at my master since he was first approached by ash a few months earlier. And actually, mcmaster was suspicious of doctor hinchey s. Conclusion, so he consulted an expert on hepatitis that trans administration hospital, who informed him that while IT would have impossible to inject somebody with hepatitis, it's still wonder killed Jones.
So that's so wild.
And this person said that if john had died from hepatitis, someone would have noticed the signs of the illness far sooner, and treatment would have been possible. yeah. And this expert who had said all of this was clear that not having examined the body himself, he couldn't make any determination about the cause of death.
But based on what my master had told him, he did not sound like jone died from so ferme master, who had big political ambitions, in sense, a big opportunity. In the case, the news of john's marriage to an, and this conversation that he had with this expert strengthened the case against hill. The assistant district attorney started building his case against john hill for the murder of his wife.
Fully shit. And that is where we are going to break apart. One, because I feel like I just threw so much information at you.
Poor jone. This is like jone just breaks my heart like because it's like, fuck yeah and it's like .
that .
what a horrible, horrible deaths and to have IT turned into such chaos afterwards when he was already going through chaos and in her life and like poor boot yeah just like poor ash or all of people.
so many people in it's really a product case. And in part two, IT only gets crazy. Our part two, I think, is actually longer than part. wow.
So you know, i'm not going to tell you what to expect at all from part to because these stories about to take a fuck in turn. okay. So or that being said, we hope that you keep listening and we hope you keep.
but that you do .
mean things .
to your wife.
Yeah.
don't cheat on people.
Don't cheat on people. They don't let them be sick and not do anything that just be good person.
