Eloise moved from France to Montreal at 19 during the pandemic, transitioning from never having roommates to living with seven guys. She struggled mentally at first but found comfort in watching New Girl with her roommates, which helped her adapt to her new environment.
Eloise and her roommates would watch New Girl together in the living room. While she had already seen the show multiple times, it was a bonding experience to see her roommates discover it for the first time. The show's themes of roommates and relationships mirrored her own situation, helping her feel more connected.
Eloise found parallels between her relationship with one of her roommates and the dynamic between Jess and Nick in New Girl. They laughed at the similarities in their personalities and situations, which added a layer of connection and humor to their relationship.
The actors, including Hannah and Lamorne, knew very little about the overall plot when they started filming. They were informed episode by episode, which allowed them to experience the story in real time, similar to how life unfolds. This approach made the show feel more organic and relatable.
Hannah is an avid puzzler, completing a 550-piece puzzle in about three to four hours. She doesn't get weird while puzzling but becomes highly focused. She has a multi-million-dollar idea for a puzzle company aimed at extreme puzzlers, though she hasn't revealed the specifics yet.
Anne-Marie, a self-proclaimed terrible driver, once asked a complete stranger to parallel park her car during her first week of college. She left all her belongings in the car and stood on the sidewalk while the stranger parked it for her, showcasing her trust in humanity.

Hi, Hannah and Lamorne. I moved from France to Montreal. At 19, in the middle of the pandemic, I went from never having had roommates to moving in with seven guys. Holy smokes. I was not doing so great mentally, so adapting to the situation was not easy at first. But New Girl is one of the things that helped me get comfortable in this new country and with my new roommates. We
We would put the show on in the living room TV and people would join in little by little. I'm kind of anxious people that watch the same show on a loop. So I had already watched New Girl probably two or three times by then, but it was so nice to watch some of my roommates discover the show for the first time. After five months of living together, I got in a relationship with one of the seven roommates and
and we laughed a lot at the similarities with Jess and Nick's situation and personalities. We've now been together for three and a half years, still going strong with two cats, one of which is named Bear. Oh, Hannah, hello. I see you. I appreciate that. I love listening to the podcast and reporting to all...
The nice little anecdotes you guys share back. I am curious to know how much of the plot did you know when you first started, like the big picture, who would end up with who, or how fast did you learn about the direction your characters were headed towards? I got so excited about the bear. I inhaled air so strongly, and now I'm coughing. We do know Winston took very long to be figured out, but what about the others? P.S. As someone living there, it's hilarious to hear about how Lamoran sees Montreux.
about that rant you did from Eloise. I was going to mention that when she said she was living in Montreal, I was about to mention it. Oh God, you really went in on Montreal. Well, look at what happened. She moved into a place with seven different dudes and obviously started dating one of them. What she's leaving out is that she probably tried a couple.
She probably was like, Dean is okay. Not for me anymore. Barry over there. Yeah, he was nice, but he was a little mean and jealous. And so then she ended up with her guy and then it worked out. But let me tell you something. What? They weird. They freaky over there. I'm trying to tell you. I know what this is. Do you know what it's giving though? Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Yes. Her and Sneezy ended up together. Just.
in and just being like, all right, well, look, that's as good of a dating pool as you're going to get. You're just sitting there. I get to watch your true, like, you know, behaviors and habits behind closed doors, literally. And then I pick the one. And look, it's worked out for her. Way to go, Eloise. You picked the winner. You got it. But also, welcome to the life of a woman. But it feels quite brave to move in with seven girls.
In a new country? Where do you live? Is it a mansion? What is this? Is there seven? Was there eight bedrooms? Yeah, what is this? Hannah's house? I have so many questions.
Oh my gosh. Eloise, you need to let us know about these sleeping arrangements and how did it work? Sometimes there's bunk rooms where there's two bunk beds. Was it like that situation? Just three bedrooms. Eloise had her own and then the seven guys were in two bunk rooms. Yeah, that's what I think was happening. Was this a Craigslist find? What's going on? I need more information, Eloise. I am grateful, though, that a show about roommates
and where it was one girl and mostly men that she found some sort of solace and comfort in New Girl. That's cool. Oh, yeah. So the questions were, how much of the plot did you know when you first started? None, zero, zip.
Yeah. I mean, we knew of the, you know, I mean, you read it. Obviously, you have to read the first episode because you got to go. Yeah, but during week to week. But the big picture, I don't think they knew. They didn't know. They're, you know, they're writing year round. Damn near. Week to week. It's not like a like miniseries or...
English shows where they write the whole first season and write all the episodes and do all that like they do on HBO and stuff too. Like that real time. That's right. Real time. So I always say that was one of my favorite things actually about doing a network sitcom because it's kind of like life. It's not like, you know, Oh, in three months I'm going to break up with this person and then this other person is going to walk into my life. And so as an actor, I found it actually really helpful, uh,
Because like when I did the pilot, there's no way or world that I ever think that Cece and Schmidt were going to end up together. I truly did not see that as like a spark. And then when episode four came, Cece crashes. It was really fun to play because, you know, there's nothing that was tipping the hat in the first three episodes where like I had that in my mind because I didn't know that was going to happen.
Yeah. Yeah. You know, for me, I just had a general sense of, I knew it was going to be that type of thing where people would get together, they wouldn't, you know. But I didn't know anything. As you can see, I didn't know anything about my character. I don't think anybody did. And we went down this hole of, you know, dating and who is he dating? You know, where does he work? You know, all these different jobs. So you truly never know.
never really know. Eloise, thank you for that. And, you know, good luck with this guy. Bon chance. You're about 22. She's probably 20. How old is she now? 22, 23, 24, something like that. You guys are going to find out, you know, that you're not right for each other. And then you're going to go back to the seven dwarfs. And then maybe it's going to be sleepy. You're going to find yourself with it.
I'm kidding. Please, you guys, stay together. Stay together forever. Stay together. Keep the love. For the cats. Hair thinning can happen for so many reasons. Okay. Hi, y'all. My name is Anne Marie, and I started watching New Girl in 2020 in the trenches of COVID. Since then, it has become my comfort show, and I quote it on a daily. I love asking people if they've watched the show and sharing memories of our favorite episodes. Anyway, I'm a little behind on listening to the podcast. Shame on you.
And just listen to the recap of A Father's Love. I'm embarrassed to admit that I too, Hannah, get out of my car and let someone park for me. Responsible choice. Oh my gosh. Faith in humanity. It was my first week in college. I hadn't had my own car long.
and only street parking was available. I am not a self-proclaimed terrible driver, but I used to not be able to parallel park my car to save my life. I saw a runner on the sidewalk who I absolutely did not know and yelled from my car window asking if he could help me. Leaving the entirety of my belongings in my car, I got out and stood on the sidewalk while this stranger parallel parked my car for me.
When he was parked, he turned off my car, handed me my keys, and went about his run. The trust in humanity is real. What did I just say? Yeah. Faith in humanity. Trust in humanity. Almost 10 years later, I still haven't told my parents that story because I'm afraid of their reaction.
You will be shamed. Just Ann Marie. Just know you will be shamed. That man's name is Luigi. Anyway. Uh, thanks for, thanks so much for listening to my story and being able to, and being so relatable while doing this podcast. I'm so glad y'all are doing this. Have a great day. Ann Marie, you're glad we're doing this and I'm glad, I'm glad you're still alive. Um,
Just saying. You know what I mean? Jeffrey Dahmer. You know what I'm saying? Well, she's not in the car. She got out of the car. She got out of the car, but that man could have asked. He was handing her the keys. You know what I'm saying? You know what I'm saying?
You're just like, don't. Yeah. You're like, don't talk. Don't talk to anybody. It's true. It's it's a bit of a risk, but also is like crashing your car. And, you know, you're on a street. There's people around, you know, you make. Mine was really crazy. I remember because it would be like in like the parking lot, like behind a building. Like I made some wild choices with my parking situations. Yeah, you don't. You don't. They were risky. They were risky. I was very trusting human.
Thank you, Anne-Marie. Thank you. Thank you, Anne-Marie. And thank you for showing that I'm not the only one. I appreciate that. Question for Hannah here. Bye, Lamorne. Okay. I'm a huge puzzler, but like Winston, I get weird when I puzzle. I sing to myself. I say weird things. I do weird things. Okay. Something just comes over me. Hannah, do you get weird when you puzzle? I feel like all of us puzzlers have some Winston in us. From...
So here's the thing. It's been the holidays. Okay. And this is not a joke. I probably do a puzzle a day. So... Oh my gosh. I will like at 8 or 9 o'clock at night open up like a 550. Hannah, a day? Like a 550. And I will do that 550 piece puzzle... Who's raising your children? Before I go to bed at 11 o'clock. I will sit there and I will do the puzzle...
but in like three or four hours, I can do this 550 puzzle. If I open up a thousand, that'll probably be two evenings, probably altogether like six hours and I will do the puzzle. And I love it. I don't think I get weird. I just get very focused. It does make me think, and I've thought about it a lot because I've done so many puzzles this particular holiday season, that I have what I think
is a multi-million dollar idea for a puzzle company for the extreme puzzlers. And I'm actually thinking of like maybe doing it. No one does it in the puzzle world. No one's doing it in the puzzling business. Well, don't tell us. I'm not going to tell you. Tell me. Obviously not. I'm going to tell you. We should maybe do this. We should make it part of this. This is a very good idea.
I'm telling you, everybody would buy this puzzle because of this one. And I feel like I would only buy these puzzles. Trust me. That's it. I would only buy these puzzles if it happened. So I'm thinking about this thing. Sarah, I've got your back as like one puzzler to another. I'm working on some advanced technology. Okay, don't say another word. Go with that idea. Save it.
Save that. I'm very excited about it. I thought about this yesterday. You should be. Well, Sarah's going to have to get some sort of credit for it because she just, you know, she sparked this interest in you, right? That's true. Sarah owns 50% of your idea now.
Oh, man. I love these letters. I really appreciate them. They're so interesting to peek into your lives and how New Girls impacted your life. And you get to peek into ours and all of the weird stuff we think and do. That's right. This podcast, man. Two-Way Street. It's a two-way street. That is the show. Join us Tuesday. We're going to talk about... That's right. Party, party, party.
