Jess: Charles Barkley will remain at TNT and will not be joining ESPN, NBC, or Amazon. He will not retire. TNT plans to utilize him in their NHL coverage, golf, and other sports properties to offset the loss of NBA rights. Ernie Johnson will also remain with TNT. Barkley has a 10-year, $200 million contract with TNT, explaining his decision to stay. Dan: I would still watch the pregame and postgame shows even without the basketball game. I suggest they rename the show "Outside the NBA." During an interview, I felt the audience wanted me to change the subject. We are no longer with ESPN, so we can discuss topics more freely. I shouldn't worry too much about the audience's reaction, as it's my show. I thought the interviewee talked for too long. Greg Cody: During an interview, I felt the audience wanted me to change the subject. Billy Gill: Summer is the best time to use the Peloton app for outdoor activities. I suggest Dan and I use the Peloton app for outdoor activities.

Jess, do you have an update for us? I need an update. What kind of update do we have? It's breaking news from Jimmy Trena. Charles Barkley to remain at TNT. Will not join ESPN, NBC, or Amazon. Will not retire. Jesus.

Shocker. He's going to kill it on the NHL coverage. Golf. How are they going to do that? Well, I did actually read that they plan to utilize him on their NHL coverage, and Charles is a huge hockey fan and often appears there during the playoffs. But they have loads of sports properties. College football.

Yeah, they license the college football playoff, a couple of college football playoff games. March Madness. Baseball. They have two majors in golf. Charles loves golf. AEW Wednesday Night Dynamite. Charmed watch-alongs. They know drama, man. Figure it out. But what about the show? What about the entire show and the basketball show? Well, I'll be curious to see if they continue that without the NBA rights. It'll be a bold move. Maybe they call it Inside the Basketball. Huh. Huh.

How are we going to do that? What sense does that report make? Ernie Johnson, I actually talked to Charles last week and he did say that there's no way Ernie Johnson is going anywhere, that he's almost 70 years old and that is his family, so he would not be leaving. But I'm surprised because he was mulling those other offers. I am surprised. He did not mention that he was thinking about going back there. So when you say that,

I thought he was going to either entertain offers or retire. You're surprising me with that. Well, it's curious. I mean, he does have a contract that extends. I don't know how they drew that one up. Let's have Charles locked up to a contract that extends beyond the NBA. It's 10 years, $200 million was the contract that he signed. So really, it's a report that obviously a lot of people are interested in it. But all this is, is like both parties agree to honor their contract. Hmm.

I would watch that pregame and postgame without the basketball game in between. Wouldn't you? Like, I've done it before. I've watched the pregame. I've tuned into the postgame and not watched the game.

I would still trot that out if I was TNT. Outside the NBA. Beyond the NBA. That's something that that show has the sense of humor to do. Outside the NBA. To cross out the inside and just change it to outside the NBA. That'd be great. Greg Cody, what were your thoughts on what it is that we just did? Because this is an unusual thing that happened to me. It's happened, I'm going to say...

Maybe four times in my entire career doing this. We're about six minutes into that interview. I could feel a heat on the back of my neck that felt like the audience breathing on it saying, change the subject. Oh, they would have really loved what happened 18 minutes into it. Mm hmm.

Play the dog? Six minutes, yes. That was about 36 minutes into it. Yes, when that got going, I could feel the audience saying, this is not what we tune in over here for. It wasn't when you said beef? I was a little worried that, like,

We had too much Hitler, and that was before the interview. That was a lot of that in the show today. There's a lot today. But we don't work for ESPN anymore. I had a counter on that stuff. Whereas if we went over, I'm like, all right, guys, let's try to not go over that much. But here, no longer with ESPN. We can...

invoke that more I guess I think you worry too much about the people breathing on your neck like I thought that was a good segment and if you want to talk about that it's your show isn't that why you started your own company screw the people breathing down your neck you know who wasn't breathing on your neck Greg because he could hold his breath for a minute he did that today incredible

No, before that interview, I said to myself, how on earth does this guy talk politics for eight straight hours a day? In the middle of the interview, I'm thinking to myself, yeah, I get it now. This guy doesn't stop talking. I'm thinking in eight hours, he's just getting started. Nothing personal, but come on, man. Take a breath once in a while. Shorten your answers.

Jiminy Cricket. It was like an interesting message to tell the Democrats from a young face that's now associated with the parties. Like, you have the right for your party to fight. Yes. Greg, you were nodding vigorously throughout all of that because all of us are accused at all times of being an echo chamber. Yeah, I happen to align with many of his beliefs, particularly.

Not to talk politics, but he was good. He was good. I was trying to get in a word edgewise. You know, it's like I needed a shoehorn to try to work in a question because he just didn't stop talking. But I thought he was really good. I thought it was really, really good. Surprised he can't dunk. I think anybody who's into this presidential race will be fascinated.

I don't think our cast is an echo chamber. We have very, very different opinions between people just on this show. I'm a registered Republican still, so I can fight it from the inside. This is not an echo chamber.

Summer's the best time to run the way you want. Dial it up with new challenges and programs and bring your workouts with you to make the most of outside sunny days. Stugatz, guess what? What? You know what you can do with Peloton? What? Get the app, go outside, ride a bike. Well, I thought you ride Peloton inside. Well, you do, you can ride Peloton inside if it's a rainy day or if it's cloudy or you just don't want to get outside, maybe it's too hot.

summertime, go outside. I record a lot from my office with you and you've noticed it's sitting there yet. It hasn't been used. Well, now's the time. Summer's the best time to start that push. Right. Can we do it together? Not on the same bike, but we could join a class together. I used to do that. We used to have Guillermo Tan. I'd invite people. We'd all take a class together. Okay. So I think you're starting to get concerned about my health and my age, Billy. I,

I sense that with you. We're beyond starting. Okay. Whatever road lies ahead, your training starts here with Peloton Tread and Tread Plus. It's not just a bike, a treadmill too. I'm going to go outside. I'm going to get in shape. I'm going to do it with Billy Gill. I want to be in your class. I want you to be my instructor. You know what? I won't be your instructor. You don't want to spend more time with me. No, I can schedule a class and we can ride together. I won't be the instructor of the class. We can have Camila could be our instructor. I like the Grateful Dead class. My daughter, she uses the Peloton. Mm-hmm.

She was on it once and an instructor who was playing Grateful Dead 2. So let's do that. Okay. Why don't we go for a run outside? Guided run. Peloton. Me and you. That's something we can do together. Okay. Turn on the app. Me and you go outside. Enjoy the summer. Call yourself a runner with Peloton at onepeloton.com slash running. All right.
