The Bible is a unified story that begins with God building a relationship with a family, which is fractured by sin. Despite this, God had a plan to restore the relationship, which unfolds through the Israelites, their struggles, and ultimately through Jesus Christ, who fulfills the Old Testament prophecies and brings redemption.
God sent prophets to remind the Israelites of His promises and to assure them that His character remained unchanged. The prophets also warned them of the consequences of their actions and encouraged them to remain faithful during their exile.
Jesus is the fulfillment of all Old Testament prophecies about the Messiah. He is fully God and fully man, came to earth to live among His people, and through His life, death, and resurrection, He brought the hope of the kingdom of God and the promise of eternal life.
The early church faced questions about whether Gentiles needed to convert to Judaism and whether Christians had to follow Jewish laws. The church leaders responded by emphasizing that believers were bound to love God and others, not to Jewish laws or selfish actions, aligning with Jesus' teachings.
The apostles had to manage unity across different cultures and nationalities while also separating the church from false teachers who spread lies about Jesus, the resurrection, and the apostles. Their goal was to balance truth and love in their teachings and actions.
