Greetings, podcast listeners. This is world-renowned, self-proclaimed couples therapist, Dr. Sheila. And I would like to invite all of you to experience a new season of my couples therapy podcast, Say More with Dr. Sheila. And yes, for legal reasons, you do need to say the doctor in the form of a question. In my sessions, we get to the core
core of the fundamental question, "What's wrong with you?" Because in the world of feelings, there are winners and losers, and someone has to be the judge.
On the pod, that's what we call it in the biz, we'll talk about all the usual things that come up in relationships, like basic disagreements. You know, it's funny, as I was making the appointment to come today. I'm sorry, I made the appointment. I booked the appointment. Navigating open relationships. I've Googled some things. What have you Googled? Ethical non-monogamy poly lifestyle. Take as many sides as you need it.
letting go. I need you to release something that you're holding. My pee? I think that would be a wonderful expression of your commitment to Frank. You want me to pee on this chair?
And of course, the touch tone of all therapy, the mother. And my mother is very consistent. My mother will come over when she says she will. And that happens to me every morning at 8:30. And knowing that she's always going to be there is really nice for me because I don't have to make my own cereal.
And to prove that therapists are mere mortals, too, I call my own therapist, Dr. Shelley Cavalier, for her guidance and wisdom. Sometimes I just stare at my patient in a steely, awkward silence until they break. Those are some techniques I learned when I went to school to train to be a therapist. And I mean no disrespect, but you're sort of winging it. Is that true, Dr. Sheila? Yeah.
And all of it will be recorded. Getting to listen to a random person's therapy session, I mean, what a dream for you. And that's why I love my job. Other people's problems always make me feel better about myself.
