Christy's motivation comes from her inner drive to ensure everything gets done to the best of her ability, a trait instilled in her since childhood. She wants to make her bed every morning and ensure everything is done correctly, reflecting her responsibility and awareness.
Christy started Hedo after losing her dance studio due to COVID-19. At 60, she was inspired by a friend who owned med spas and decided to learn about skincare formulations. She wanted to create a brand that she could personally stand behind, knowing the importance of the products she was selling.
Christy found her niche as a choreographer, which allowed her to continue her dance career. She choreographed for daytime TV for 30 years, finding ways to make her height a non-issue by focusing on her choreography skills.
Christy advises understanding that there's always a reason for things not going as planned. Instead of dwelling on disappointments, use them as opportunities to grow and become better. She emphasizes the importance of resilience and finding ways to rise above obstacles.
Christy believes that a supportive circle can provide motivation, accountability, and a sense of community. She also notes that as people grow, their circles may change, and it's important to evaluate and adapt those relationships to ensure they continue to be fulfilling and positive.
Christy aims to tell her story as the All-American Woman and inspire other women to find their voice. She plans to create a documentary, a book, and host conferences to empower women and highlight the importance of supporting each other.
Christy is most proud of moving to California alone at 19 after winning the All-American Woman contest and building a successful career in dance and entrepreneurship despite the challenges.
