Check out the sales. It's all in one place. You can put in a big order, get all your gifts. You'll be very happy. Very, very happy. Do you have people in your life that...
or like movie characters or like their characters in your TV show of your daily life that you just pass by maybe your coffee shop. Like, no, you get a coffee every day. Like, is there somebody there that you would consider a character in your TV show? Unfortunately, no, right now. Yeah, I would. Not like a store person, but people that I like pass every day. Like my doorman. I walked, yeah, I walked to work. Yeah, yeah. The guy at La Panne, right? Is that the name of it? Yeah.
the barista i can't stand him but i can't get enough of him at the same time yeah he just has this like smug attitude but also is really friendly like i can't get a read on him and it's becoming something that i like chuckle to myself about every time i go in there like today he hit me with uh she causing you problems like about another about another woman who was making my drink you know like he just has these like these one-liners that are like not funny
But you, depending on my mood, I'll give him a chuckle or not. Yeah, good for him, you know? He's just, he's testing out jokes. Yeah, I like that. It seems. Right. Like one time I ordered a... Who knows what his backstory is? He could be an actor. That's very true. One time I ordered just a iced tea lemonade and he was like, ah, rough morning. And I was like, maybe this is a joke because I didn't get a coffee. Right, right. You know, and I just got an iced tea lemonade. Like sometimes they don't hit. Yeah. But in like I... So you think it would be opposite?
I see lemonade is like taking it easy. Right. Like I think he was maybe just like, yeah, oh, rough morning. And I'm like, you know, like I almost can't get enough. You know, it's like, it's like, what's he going to say today? Yeah. What's the joke he's going to throw out today? But it's like a little character in your TV show. How was your weekend? Weekend was lovely. Home. We got home from Buffalo on Friday.
And what did I do? We came home, went out to dinner. I went out to Long Island on Saturday, then back into the city on Sunday, went to see Wicked. We'll talk about it. Yeah, we got designated time to talk about Wicked. I have been changed for good, like truly. And yeah, I mean, we had a great time in Buffalo. Awesome time. So much fun on our trip. We ate breakfast.
So many wings. I think I'm like, not done. I love wings. I'll keep eating wings. But I don't think anything will ever compare to those Cajun honey butter barbecues that we had. I really think those were the best wings I've ever had in my life.
I totally agree. And I don't think we'll have anything better. And I truly think when I go to the gym later, the entire place is going to smell like wings, popcorn and bunch of crunch. Like that is the kind of weekend I've had. And I can just like it's it's literally seeping out of my pores at this moment.
And it's the amount that we inhaled while we were in Buffalo and this weekend. We went back to Barbell twice. And the first time we were there, we finished our meal and put it in another order because of how much we fucking love these wings. We didn't order enough the first time. No, we didn't. We underestimated how many wings we needed. And we needed another round. We did. I clocked an absurd number of wings at Barbell. So many wings. Yes.
But man, was it worth it? So worth it. It was incredible. And let me tell you, the people of Buffalo, I couldn't love you more. Seriously, such a warm welcome. I fucking love it there. I mean, every stop that we've been on this tour has been nothing short of exceptional.
every single place. Kansas City, Nashville, Detroit, Buffalo. We are meeting the best fans, the best listeners of this show. Every stop has been so much fun. We've done something different at every stop, taken in all the food that the places have to order. We were joking around with Security Mike, who maybe if you listen to other Barstool shows,
you have heard his name come up. You know, he works with Dave. He has security for Dave. He's done security for Brie. He's been, you know, pop punk. Like he's, he's done all the rounds. He's in charge. He's in charge. He's the man in charge. Security Mike, he's the fucking best.
And he just gets shit done. And we were joking with him when we were like, you know, when you're with Dave, you got to be on the lookout. You know, he's getting swarmed. If you're with Brie or Mubi and they're partying at the colleges, you got to watch out for partiers. And then you get us. And it's like...
Where do these two bitches want to eat next? It's like, where are they getting their next meal? I said that all he has to worry about is where we're getting our next meal. That's it. That's it. Us being fed. Because that's really the only thing on our radar as well. True. We're just mapping out the restaurants and making Mike drive us to all the different spots. Let's just make sure we have...
our meals lined up. So, and that's really, really like the only thing, you know, we're not like,
Doing anything too crazy. Now, once in a while, we'll have a night out. Once in a while, we'll have a night out after the show. But for the most part, we're just like, we need to test out all the great places that these cities have to offer. And Buffalo was really, really great. We went to the Niagara Falls. We did. What a time. The Canadian side. The Canadian side, of course. We ziplined. We did. Across the falls. Yes.
And what... Next to the falls. I'm trying to, you know, amp it up. Next to the falls. People know. You're not going across, which I'm glad you wouldn't have known. Well, do they know? Because we all showed up thinking we were going across the falls. I did think we were going across the falls. And...
Should we put that in, the footage? We should definitely put the footage in. It was fucking awesome. I went spread eagle against the Niagara Falls, unlike anybody's ever done before. I don't know if the Niagara Falls has ever seen a spread eagle like mine. And it was such a time. It was honestly such a thrill. It was amazing. It was one of the best things we've done as a group, in my personal opinion. It was really fun. I wish it wasn't raining. Yeah.
Because I feel like it just would have been, we had so much fun, it just would have been ten times more enjoyable if it wasn't raining. I, like, partially agree with you, but at the same time, I feel like the rain and everything added to the thrill of it. It's like, oh my god, this is a blast, we're getting smacked in the face with rain, it's cold. And you get to wear the ponchos. You know when it's rainy, you get to wear the poncho. It, like, added to the experience of the Niagara Falls to me, like, what I envisioned. Yeah. Of it being, like, rainy. Yeah.
I guess because I've been there in the summer when it's been really nice. So you've experienced it in the summer. I have, which is why I'm like, it is just that much better. I'm sure that it is so gorgeous. Probably way more crowded, though. Yeah. Definitely more crowded. Definitely more crowded. I'm sure that it's amazing and so gorgeous in that weather. But to me, it added a little bit of thrill. Like, oh my God, we're doing this in the rain. Do it in the snow. Yeah, snow would be cool. Yeah. It's just...
Especially, you know, it's a very touristy spot, but it's also just like a kid's dreamland, you know? There's just arcades and the Rainforest Cafe and gift shops and like...
All those fun things that when you're like a Ripley's, like all those like fun things when you're a kid, like you just go crazy for. I took home more things from the Niagara Falls gift shop than any other place I've been to. I know, I know. Probably ever. I know. Like...
Oh, I forgot to bring her. I have to bring her. When we get our Christmas tree for the studio, we have a little Niagara Falls ornament that we can put on it. I got ornaments. I got a squash mellow. I got t-shirts. I got a chicken wing ornament in the airport going home. I just stocked up on goodies. That was like a must buy. It was a must. That was a must buy. With the blue cheese dip. It was like a shiny...
wing ornament. You know? It was a must have. And it had the little side of the blue cheese as well. It was incredible. Which was great. We knew right away also like
I feel like it's a quiz, you know, they get you when you're up there. And somebody said it to us during the meet and greet of like, oh, you have blue cheese or ranch? I'm like, oh, honey, we would never ask for ranch here. I mean, I wouldn't fucking dare. We wouldn't dare. When we were going to Bar Bill the first time, we were all in the car together. And I said, guys, whatever you do,
Do not ask for ranch. This is a blue cheese city. And they make their own blue cheese. So you know it's going to be fucking good. If you were to ask them, the only sauce that is...
For dipping a wing in Is blue cheese So And it was delicious That blue cheese Was absolutely fantastic So it was Ugh so good What a time Buffalo really was great I'm getting hungry Just thinking about it I know It was Oh my god It was seriously I had such a fantastic time Seriously I couldn't stop raving About the place We did have fun And then This weekend I saw Noah Saturday night We had a lone night out Went to the club We had a good time Dancing Just us two Just me and Noah Just kidding
Me and Noah had such a good time in Buffalo that we decided to just get in the club. Yeah, you said, let's take this one offline. Yeah. Let's take this out of the group chat. I mean, if you just heard what you said, you were like, yeah, me and Noah went to the club dancing. Well, I was just saying like here in this group, out of this group, me and Noah went out Saturday night with a couple of people and it was a great time. But before that...
um saturday i was feeling like so kind of just run down from the travel and all the fucking wings we were eating i just was like i really feel like i was like i need some fucking vitamins and nutrients like just fucking stabbed into my system so i ordered an iv and in the past
when I've been in like the hospital or something. Like when I got surgery for my endometriosis back in 2017, I remember having...
how hard it was for them to get a needle into my veins. Like I need a pediatric needle. I've gotten IVs in the past where I need a pediatric needle and it ends up working out. They just use the smallest needle and we're good. So before this woman, because they have all these things now where you can get an IV come to your home. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And before this nurse showed up, I told her, I was like, by the way, I need a pediatric needle. Like regular needle never works for me. Whatever. It's always a problem.
And she was like, okay, got it. So this woman shows up. She's a nurse. Usually they are nurses. Like she told me she was a delivery nurse. And then they like do this on the side. And I told her about the pediatric needle. And I thought that she had it covered. But I don't think she did because she...
went into my arm and my arm does not look good right now i'm not gonna show it doesn't look good she went into my arm and immediately she goes oh no i hit a valve and i'm like that is not let me tell you something when someone says i hit a valve i don't know what that means and i'm sure there's going to be a ton of nurses listening that do know what that means and it's
It's probably not a bad whatever. But the way in which she said it, Fran, I started seeing stars. I had to lay down, almost passed out, literally like my eyes started going black. I'm like hyperventilating. It's a whole thing. I'm bleeding out of my arm. Not like I'm making it sound dramatic. I wasn't bleeding that much. But she hit a valve. And I'm like, oh my God, I'm going to pass out. I mean, what?
the fuck is a valve i don't know and i'm like oh my god i'm gonna pass out because i don't i don't like hearing that i don't like hearing yeah yeah yeah so i'm like oh i start seeing stars she's like she's gotta act like everything's okay no she has to act like when she she wasn't yeah matt is like she's like can you get an ice pack he runs against an ice pack she takes out her blood pressure machine she's checking my blood pressure it's like a whole thing she takes the thing out and i'm like and it started bubbling up and she's like yeah i don't um
you have really really tiny veins like you're really brave for even trying to get IVs and I was like yeah I know I said that it's it's worked it's worked every time before you're really brave you're really brave for even time and I was like you know it's very funny it's worked every time before so I thought like I'd be okay but like we probably just shouldn't do this because I almost just passed out like I was seeing stars so like we should just you know
avoid this and like let's wrap it up thanks for trying thank you for trying like let's you know let's just wrap it up here and she wasn't a calming presence like her like I understand she probably was like nervous because I started freaking out
But it was just bad all around. And I ended up coming to and being okay. And she wraps everything up. She's like, I don't think I'm going to try again. I'm like, I don't think we should. I think we should just, you know, not do this. I'll just fucking drink a ton of water like I should. And liquid IV will get on our way. Right. And she leaves the bloody needles on my couch. Left the bloody needle on my couch. I have a picture of it. I sent it to the company because I was like,
This is crazy. It was just fucking disgusting. And I was so like... Did it stain your couch? No, no, no. I didn't. I was extremely rattled though. Like I was so rattled looking next to me and seeing like bloody needle on my fucking couch. Like I... It skeeved me out. Like it's my own blood. Yeah, no. So, you know, better that than anything else. No, you would just think that there's like a...
a proper way of disposing a used needle yeah i was really thrown off by that um carried on i sent them a picture because they ended up emailing me like oh do you want to reschedule whatever and i i sent them a picture and i was like no i do not want to reschedule and by the way the nurse left this on my couch i would like just a full refund and we could just carry on they ended up giving me a refund which was nice um but i was so thrown off by a
that also like a full refund i mean can you blame me you also didn't get the treatment no i mean can you blame me as for her full refund i didn't get the treatment she hit a valve and a bloody needle on my couch yeah you didn't even get the treatment so so my arm is bruised up it's a whole thing i mean it's not really her fault my veins are really small um but it is her fault for leaving the bloody needle on my couch that's her fault for sure yeah um so yeah i don't even know like what um
I guess I wasn't even really aware that you could have, like, there's different vein sizes. Oh, mine are so tiny. It's a problem every time that I've ever had one. It's so interesting. Like, it's just like. You would know because it would have been a problem. Like, have you gotten blood work recently? No, but. When's the last time you got a physical, Francesca? Oh, God.
I don't want to admit on this podcast. I've had my blood taken in the past year and they had to do a, a pediatric. I don't, I don't have a, this is a probably embarrassing to even say, and I probably shouldn't, but I mean, I'm 30 or I don't have a primary doctor.
doctor. You should probably get one. Yeah. You should get a physical. Just check your blood. I had one in New Jersey like and then you know my parents moved away. I stopped going home to go to the doctor and I just never found one in New York City. I know it sounds silly because New York City is so
is so great and there's so many great doctors here. But it's also kind of overwhelming because there are so many doctors that like... You're trying to weed out the quacks. Yeah, I just don't... I don't know. And then like I've asked my friends for recommendations and then they've had some that they've liked but then half the time they're like, I wonder this person didn't like them. Mm-hmm.
So I'm like, oh, well then I'm not going to go to that person also. I would actually argue it's probably more common than you think that people don't have primary. Because I honestly didn't for a while. I ended up getting one about, I want to say like two years ago.
And I've gotten a physical for the last two years. I like to get my blood checked just to make sure everything's good, you know? But I'm also a hypochondriac. It's super duper the right thing to be doing. 100%. Definitely. Your blood tells a lot about you. It's been a while. But I'm sure you're healthy.
Yeah. You know, I'm all, I'm also one of those people that's like, unless I, I'm like, I'm good. And I don't want to really know if I'm not good. Well, you, I mean, if you feel good, that's great. I, I've talked about my endometriosis before. Yeah. Hormone stuff. I like, I've gotten blood work for that to get like, you know, yes. I mean, to get that shit checked out as you should. Um,
But yeah, it's good to have a doctor. No, for 100%. One day you should get one. I would like to have one. No sweat though. You're healthy. You're fine. You're good. Whatever. Keep it moving. Yeah, no, totally fine. Totally fine. Totally cool. But yeah, that was Saturday before I went out. And I was like, fuck it. I'm getting up and going out. I was like, let's keep a move on. Let's get this dirty needle off the couch and let's go. Let's get these tiny veins pumping with alcohol. Right. And then I was like, what?
What better thing to do than to go out and just take shots all night? That'll be healthy. That'll replace the IV I was supposed to get. I got a good giggle out of the sign saying, Ban from Club Penguin. Oh, that was so funny. That was a random table that had a sign that said, Ban from Club Penguin. That's really funny. And I feel like someone, Kelly Keegs, was like,
that is not something you should be advertising. Like she like took it so seriously. That you got banned from Club Penguin? No, like someone got banned. She was like, that is not something that anybody should be bragging about. I was like, I don't know if Kelly spent a lot of time on Club Penguin like we did, but you can get banned for literally. No, it was very easy to get banned. Very easy to get banned from Club Penguin. And she was like, he must be a pervert. And I was like, all right, we're jumping the gun here. We're jumping the gun here.
He maybe just said like ass and got banned. You never know. You never know. So that was funny, but it was a good time. Good weekend. And then Sunday, Wicked time. So we'll get into that. I saw Wicked at one o'clock so that I could come home and have plenty of time before the Eagles played Sunday night, which was awesome. They crushed. I'm Saquon Barkley's biggest fan. And yes, I've changed my tune.
because he's just so good. And now it was a perfect day, one might say, of a combined Eagles win and going to see Wicked. It was so fucking good. No, but honestly, the Eagles win was a highlight. My dad went to the game. Oh. So he was in L.A. at SoFi, which he said was really cool. I was going to say, was it in? No, no, it was in L.A. This is very sweet, but he goes –
With his two buddies to they now they pick my dad lost one of his best friends like literally his best friend from college a few years ago and his group of friends
The other two that are Eagles fans, they said, like, you know, we should really make sure we see each other and plan stuff. So they pick one Eagles away game to go to every season. And like a new place that they haven't gone to. So they go see the stadium, the whole thing. So this year was L.A. So they went to SoFi. They're 3-0. Every game they've gone to the Eagles have won. Oh, my God. They're good luck. They're good luck.
And he said it was incredible. I'm actually dying to go to SoFi. He was like, this place is absolutely insane. And he said there was just a shit ton of Eagles fans because there's just...
Not a lot of diehard Rams fans out there. And if you're a diehard Rams fan, sorry. But, you know. It's like the Dodgers thing again. Yeah, yeah. Well, I think there's diehard Dodgers fans. You know, the Rams is a new team. They haven't been in L.A. for that long. Yeah.
So it was just like, you know, a new thing. And then there's the people that grew up diehard St. Louis Rams fans that have stuck with the Rams even though they're now in L.A. So that was interesting. But now it was a great time. That was really... That's so nice. I know. It is very nice. That is really sweet. It is very nice. They had...
They had a great time. That sounds lovely. Yeah. And what a perfect little Sunday. It was. Well, we have to talk about Wicked, so we're going to get into that. We're going to talk about Wicked just as a topic. We're going to do a review. I mean, here's the thing with Wicked. The story's been out there for...
years and years now so there really shouldn't be any spoilers but if you don't want to hear about the movie then I would skip past but we're going to talk a lot about the movie we're also going to be talking about the Countess Luanne says that she one time made out with Hugh Grant at a club in the Hamptons which you know who's to say she didn't Glenn Powell look-alike contest and he's raising the stakes Glenn Powell's getting involved and we have the weekly watch report so let's get into it starting off with Wicked

It was a wicked Sunday for all. Yes, it was. Besides Noah, he has not seen Wicked yet. So he unfortunately can't join the conversation. He probably won't see it. Will you see it?
I don't think so. Yeah, I was going to say. I don't think he'll see it. I'm trying to think like what if your mom wants to go? What if it's like once it's on TV? And I'm like, it's so long and I just am not a musical person that I'm like, I just can't. I just can't do it. It took me a long time to watch Barbie and then I watched Barbie. What if your mom wanted to go this week?
I mean, yeah, I would go. Should we get Jen to take Noah to Wicked? I would go if my mom really wanted to go. But honestly, I don't know if she's going to want me to say this, but she had no interest. Really? Yeah, which is kind of surprising to me. She has no interest to go see it, is what you're saying? I think she has no interest in watching the movie. But she's like a big fan. She's like, I've seen the play. I already saw the play. But I don't know.
I guess I'm... Yeah. I could see having that angle, like, if you don't want to ruin the play for yourself. I'm sure she'll watch it eventually, but...
yeah i tried to i tried to just rationalize that in my head i can't no i know i called my mom yesterday because she fucking loves the play my mom has seen it a couple times and i was like i'm going to see wicked and she was like oh my favorite and i was like are you gonna go see the movie and she was like i don't know i don't know if daddy wants to go see that and i was like someone needs to take this woman to go see wicked because i know that she would love it um
My mom also took me to see Hairspray when I was younger, too. She loves a musical like that. Those are great ones. Absolutely great ones. But Wicked was just, I mean, it was fantastic. It really was incredible. It exceeded expectations, even though the expectations were very high because of the reviews it was getting already. Right. We went in knowing...
that everybody was raving about it. But sometimes there's a world where you're just, whatever part of the internet you're on, you're raving about it, maybe you have a different opinion. But I mean, it was fantastic. I was blown away. And truly, really, Ariana Grande is a revelation. She is. She's a superstar. She...
I walked out and I looked at you and I said, that was Ariana's movie. She was so great. And it is not taking anything away from Cynthia because Cynthia is also absolutely fantastic. And I think she plays Elphaba so well. And I mean, their voices are incredible. But I think it's because you're watching it in two parts also. So...
Act one, act two, Wicked part one is act one. And act one is just a little bit more Glinda dominated in my mind. There's funnier moments. There's like Glinda's comedic moments are there to shine through. And then act two is much more Elphaba in my mind.
So I feel like in this case, it was just this part. Like, oh my God, she was so, so good. Her comedic timing was perfect and her voice was insane. The opera notes that she was doing were
I had goosebumps the whole time. Every time she opened her mouth. Azadai, she was spectacular. I couldn't take my eyes off of her too. Whenever she was on the screen, even with other people, I was so locked into Ariana Grande. She was just incredible. She really was. And
And I didn't feel... And I feel like this is... The director had talked about this. That he made Ariana Grande come back three or four times. Because he wanted to make sure that we weren't getting Ariana Grande. It had to be stripped down to be Glinda. And...
that's what I felt while watching it. Like I was like, Oh my gosh, she is Glinda. Like this is not Ariana Grande. Like she just completely transformed herself into this role. I mean, we can see it. She now talks like her in interviews and everything, but it makes more, it makes more sense to me that Ariana Grande has transformed into Glinda than Austin Butler has into Elvis. And you know, maybe I'm just being biased towards Ariana Grande, but I, um,
I thought it was just spectacular, the entire thing. I would have watched part one and part two if they would have gave us just like a 10-minute intermission. I would have watched the second part there. I would have sat there all night because even with a two-hour and 40-minute length...
I did not feel like it felt long. And I am not someone who likes a three hour movie. I've talked about it before. I really don't enjoy that long of a movie. But I got up to go to the bathroom when we were about two hours, about two hours in.
And I was like, what? Like, I genuinely was blown away when I looked at my phone. The movie started about 5.20 and it was like a little after set. I was like, oh my God. Like, I couldn't believe it. It flew by for me. I could have sat there for the next two hours and watched the second part. Like, it just was, I thought it was so incredible and I was so engaged into the movie. I mean, the certain tear dorkers for me was...
The ballroom. Yeah. The ballroom dance when Glinda. A boss dust. Yes. Glinda dances with Elphaba for the first time because everyone's making fun of her and she is like, I'm going to step up and dance with her. Tearjerker. The ending was so incredible. I like my mouth was on the floor. I was like, this is. And weirdly enough, it didn't.
it felt like a play yeah it was a movie like i don't know how to describe that you know like when harry styles was like it feels like a movie yeah right right right this it really felt like we were watching a musical because knowing that they sing live yeah like it's not recorded before and then edited in like they're i didn't know that yeah they're singing live the whole thing is insane the entire thing they're singing live is like
What? Cynthia Erivo was on a broomstick doing her own stunts, spinning in the air, singing Defying Gravity at the same time. It's incredible. I have chills talking to her. I have a question. What is the holding space that I keep seeing? We can talk about that after. That has nothing to do with the movie. There was an interview where the...
interviewer said to Cynthia Erivo about Defying Gravity, she was like, a lot of people are talking about Defying Gravity and holding space for these lyrics. And Cynthia Erivo was like, I didn't know that. She said, I didn't know that was happening. She was like, I didn't know that. And starts crying. She says, that's exactly what I wanted. Ariana Grande holds...
Just holds her finger like this. It was just a funny interview clip that now people are talking about. It's just being memed into life because I also feel like that interviewer, I don't know if she thought Cynthia was going to react like that because then she kind of tries to back
She kind of tries to backpedal a little bit. She's like, I didn't know that. She was like, no, I've been seeing it. You know, I've been seeing it. She's like, I work in queer media. I've been seeing it. And because I think like Cynthia was like, oh, my God, she was it made her very emotional. But yeah, everybody's everybody ran away with that because one, it's like, what really does that mean? Well, you know what?
I'll try to decipher what it means. Holding space for those lyrics is, to me, identifying with those lyrics. Yeah. Taking in the meaning of the song and relating it to your own life. Yes. Even though it's about a witch who's green...
That is not the story. There is so much more to the story. This person who has been made fun of, who has been cast aside by her family and her peers because of the way she looks.
She's defying gravity. She soars up into the sky and makes it happen. 100%. There's a story there. And people can relate that to their life. It's a total pop culture thing where it's like, you laugh about it and it's funny and people are going to laugh about it for a while. But then you can...
watch the movie and also completely understand what they're talking about. Right, because you're like, you relate it to like anything in your life. I mean, it's like facing any... I can't blame them all for being so... Like, I'm emotional just thinking about... I almost teared up getting ready this morning, coming to work, playing The Wizard and I on my phone. I know. Just like doing my makeup and listening to this song. I almost started crying again. I totally understand why they're emotional. I mean, she was facing adversity her whole life. Yeah.
And this is her moment. And it's... I mean, they're so good. I will say about the length, the length did not bother me either. Gia thought it was a little too long. But I just... I think with adapting a musical into a movie, it's really tough because when you go see a musical on whatever, at the theater, Broadway, you are...
accustomed or expecting like mostly singing. You know, there are spoken lines, of course, but you're not dying for more spoken lines because you're like, it's a musical. I think when you adapt it into a movie, you're trying to reach such a bigger audience and you're trying to get those people that maybe aren't huge musical people to also see the movie.
And when you do that, you kind of need more dialogue so that it isn't just all singing. And that's going to make the movie longer. That's going to make it longer. They've got to add in a few more things. They've got to add in a little bit more dialogue. And a lot of the songs are long. And what are you going to do? Cut the song? The songs are long and they tell a story and you need them in there. So for me, I also was not bothered by...
I was not bothered by the length at all. Now, like, do I wish somehow it could all be one part? But I also understand that it just can't because realistically, if we want everything we want in it and every song and certain lines and whatever, it would be...
A five and a half hour movie. Right. I don't even know what they would have taken out to make this shorter. I know. I can't even say there's one part where I would be like, we could do without this. There was like a couple things that maybe were a little cheesy. But in the grand scheme of things, it was maybe two, three minutes. Like, that's not going to be...
that chain life changing. I didn't even think there was anything at all. I, I just thoroughly enjoyed every part of it. I, I don't, I couldn't even, I was talking to G about it and she's not here to defend herself, but she didn't really like the yellow brick road callback with the wizard of like, what color should it be? And going through the colors and like, yeah, I like any sort of,
to the Wizard of Oz. Yeah. I do too. Because it's so interesting reading about the connection and non-connection to the Wizard of Oz. Like, you know,
you know, it's not the same story, but it is. And it was basically fan fiction about The Wizard of Oz. So there's really no connection, but there is a connection. It's like really kind of if you want to connect it or if you don't want to connect it, even though there is a connection, but there's not. Like, you see what I'm saying? I keep going back and forth. It's funny because I even see people re-watching The Wizard of Oz and they're like making commentary about it. I'm like, there's actually no connection here because The Wizard of Oz came out in the 30s and the book Wicked, like the story,
book was written like came out in 1995 so right it was written after and it's basically written as a fan fiction of what they thought would be yeah yeah yeah to what the wizard of oz was but it's like everybody on tiktok they're like wizard of oz is the propaganda that they want that's the story they wanted you to want in the world you know it's like well the wizard yeah and the wizard of oz came first and that yeah that was really it so it is so interesting that this story was made because then you have like fiero he's the scarecrow and then bach is the tin man but but like the scarecrow
sees the the wicked witch as his enemy but really yeah he's not like fiero wants to be with elphaba so then you have to make the connection and be like well was he just using dorothy to get to elphaba and making dorothy believe that that was his enemy but it's really not his enemy he really just wants to get back to the to the witch in my mind you just have to separate them
I like connecting the two for fun. Right, right, right. I get that, but also in my mind, I just accept Wicked as the actual story. Because connecting it, obviously, it doesn't fully make sense. I saw a girl go viral on TikTok because she was yelling into her camera like,
I don't know what you guys are trying to tell me. The Wicked Witch of the West in that movie, she's evil. Sorry, she is. You know, it's like, I get it. It's so fair. That's why I kind of, in my mind, like kind of keep it separated. Obviously it is the same characters.
Right, because Elphaba is not evil. So when you watch The Wizard of Oz, you're like, this evil, ugly witch is not Elphaba because Elphaba is a beautiful woman who is actually trying to help. But she's then seen as wicked. And I mean...
Also the Wizard of Oz being her father. Yeah. Like is also you know what I mean. Then then you go back to the Wizard of Oz and you're like it. There's a lot of things that can be connected but you can also just separate the two as a whole. But it's hard to not connect the two for fun and be like oh well this and that. Yeah. I mean Dorothy is shown like. Well of course they're the same characters. Yeah. Um.
but like you go back and watch where's the you can't go back and watch the Wizard of Oz and think like ooh that line was maybe like a hint that her like not being evil it's like no and when they made the Wizard of Oz she was evil right because the Wizard of Oz came first and she was just straight up evil they had the Wicked Witch of the West and she was evil it was the makers of Wicked who decided that they were going to be like you know what we're going to make this Wicked Witch have a backstory it's kind of like a
watching a movie of a high school bully and then they have a backstory of you show them at home and they have a hard life at home and they're actually not so bad and they become mean because of things that have been done to them. It's a villain's prequel story. Yeah, it's like the Joker. Right. What was I going to say? Oh man. Oh no. Quite literally my entire For You page is wicked. Like I haven't gotten one other single piece of content in like a week and...
It's funny because there is obviously a world, there's a younger generation, there are so many people who don't know the story and haven't seen the musical. And like...
People freak out About Spoilers Or like People are posting I saw this She turned the comments Off in the video Because she did this post Where like all the text Came up Yes And it was just like Basically everything That you find out In part two And in my mind I was like Come on Like I know we all
I know a lot of people know but not everybody knows and you're and you're just putting that you're blasted all out you're kind of ruining the whole rest of the I'm saying ruining like it's like I guess I just did that too but it's yeah but it's I don't know I guess I guess I just did that I don't know but it's like I just thought that if you know if you saw Wicked yeah but I think there's so many it's just shot and I saw I've seen so many people commenting being like I'm actually blown away by the amount of people who just don't know
like the story of Wicked or just haven't seen the show. Which I guess is really awesome for people discovering it for the first time. It doesn't matter if you've seen the play or you haven't. Like it's an incredible movie, incredible story. There's so much more than it just being about like witches and magic and whatever. Like there's a really beautiful story within Wicked and I'm happy whichever way people are discovering it. But being able to see
Wicked on Broadway at like a young age. I feel like a lot of kids in New York, New Jersey experienced that. What a blessing. No, that's what I was going to do. It's a blessing. It really was an experience being able to... And basically everybody I know has seen Wicked. Because when I wanted to go see it, I didn't want to bring...
if he was going to be like sour about it. Like I was like, I want to go see this. Like I'll go alone if you don't want to go, whatever. And he was like, no, I saw Wicked, the play. He was like, I really loved it. I'm down to go see it. I'll go into it with an open mind. And he loved it. He was like, what a beautiful, he's like, what a beautiful story. He's like, he was like, Elphaba is so empowering after. I was like, you know what? She really is. She is and she stands up for what she believes in. Exactly. And,
- He was like, "I just..." He was like, "You just root for her the whole time." And I was like, "Of course you do." - You absolutely do. - Of course you do. It was crazy being in the movie. It's like, trying to sing wasn't even my struggle. It was not clapping at the end of every song. Like I think from seeing the musical, you're just so used to being like, "Yeah!" - Yes. - Like she hits that note at the end of like the "Wizard and Iron" or those moments and like the big orchestra moments and everybody claps.
And then I was like, oh my God, we're not gonna be able, we don't clap. We don't clap. We don't clap at the end of the songs. - There were a few moments where loud claps from the theater, loud claps. And I was like-- - My theater was only really at the end. Like at the end, everybody clapped, but-- - 'Cause I saw you were there.
What? Because I saw you were there. They didn't try to make noise while they were watching. Oh, well, I don't kiss. I thought you were being nice and saying they clapped because she was there. I was like, oh, that's so nice. No, no. I was saying they didn't make any noise. No, he said that I would yell at everybody for making a noise during the movie. I was like, aww.
No, no, no. I will say, though, there was a girl sitting next to Gia who was on her phone far too much. And the way Gia and I were joint scoffing at her, like trying to get her attention, she kept pulling at her phone and both me and Gia would be like, ugh.
No, that is not... Let me tell you, a musical specifically and Wicked is not... I mean, you don't pull out your phone at a movie theater anyway. Like, I think that is a big no-no. You need to check your phone, go to the bathroom, check your phone, come back. The screen is so fucking bright. Even if you turn your brightness down, it's so bright. But a musical specifically...
You cannot go on your phone. You're going to miss the context of the film. They're singing through it. It's like that's their dialogue. So you're going to miss it if you're not paying attention to the whole thing. And I don't even know how you could want to go on your phone. I don't know. I was in such a trance the whole time that I don't even... I didn't even want to check my... I only checked when I went to the bathroom, but that's so annoying. I know. It was... I'm sorry you guys had to deal with that. Right.
Despicable. But my God, what a feat, really. Building all those sets and doing, putting all the work and, you know, I thought, shout out John M. Chu. He did a great job. He did. Directing.
I saw a funny video of people being like the same guy who gave you this gave you and then it went to clips of Justin Bieber's movies because he directed the Justin Bieber movies I was like yeah he is he is fantastic also step up too um
And I mean just across the board everybody was so good. Cynthia was so good. Jonathan Bailey was so good. The voice on Cynthia. Michelle Yeoh was so good. Oh Michelle Yeoh was fantastic. Oh god she played that so well. Did you hear her talk about
Cynthia and Ariana calling her with John because John wanted her to do the film. And she was like, well, you have to sing. I don't sing. Yeah. And then the two of them called and got her to do it, which is just, I love stories like that. I love little casting stories. I mean, Cynthia's voice is just, I've just been watching videos of her singing, even from the color purple. Yeah. I mean, it just chills every time that she is such an amazing singer.
talent. Like I can't get over it and I can't wait to see more of her in part two because like you said it is very Glinda heavy in the first part and Ariana was just spectacular. Yeah. But I'm excited for Cynthia to have like her. I mean she did have she does. I mean she obviously has her. It's just a build up. It's just a build up. Yeah. Then she had you know part two. I mean Defying Gravity just knocks you off your feet. I almost just I I
like almost threw myself off my chair when she like those like last 10 minutes I was just in disbelief at what I was watching it was so incredible I could cry thinking about it right now which just goes to show that no wonder like what we said no wonder
they were crying every two seconds. I'm going to cry thinking about it. I'm crying homeless in the soundtrack again. It makes so much sense why they can't stop crying if all of us going to see the movie. I posted a TikTok saying that. I'm like, I get why they, I can't stop crying. I get why they can't stop crying. And somebody commented being like,
I've seen the movie. I don't get why we're crying. Oh my God. You, you're heartless. Truly. Truly. Do you not feel things? Heartless. Do you not feel anything? Is that why you can't cry at Wicked? of the, oh gosh. I just, I mean, it's, it's incredible, but what a fucking voice on Cynthia. She's just such an incredible, incredible talent. And Ariana cannot say, like Ariana. Yeah. I mean, no, I, I'm about to like, we're about to make signs. Yeah.
and we are leading the campaign for her to win every award for this role. She needs an Oscar for this role. I think she will get it. I'm going to say it. I think she will get it. I think she'll be... I think it'll be a Best Supporting Actress nomination and I will be absolutely heartbroken if she does not win because...
It would be so well deserved. She really does deserve it. I have chills thinking about it again. It really was so incredible. I want to see it again. It's taken over my brain, my life, everything on my phone, like you said. I know, everything. Everything is wicked. Ariana for the Oscar. Truly, Ariana for the Oscar. Make it happen. We'll start the campaign. We need to start campaigning now. We need to be heard. I feel like you're not alone at all.
No, no, no, no, no. It's going to be like she's the favorite. Yes, I and she should be. She should be. Just we just don't want anybody to let any doubt trickle in here. It is her. We can't have any doubt. She is the winner. I don't even want to. You know, people are creating space for the for the lyrics of Defying Gravity. We're holding space. We're holding space for it. I don't want to hold space for any song.
Anybody who disagrees with how good Ariana Grande was in this film. Yep. I will not be holding space for that. None of it. No. No space held whatsoever. No. They're definitely going to perform at the Oscars. Oh, I mean, they would have to. I would hope. One would dream. One could only dream. I mean, my God. It's just, yeah. So many things to be said. You know what I was also thinking? What?
This press tour was so massive and long and they did so much. Do you think they're just going to do it all again in a year? I had the same question. They're going to have to hit it again. They're going to have to promote part two. Are they going to have to promote it the exact same way? Where it's just like all the premieres and the interviews and the specials and everything all for part two? I immediately put into my calendar. I put into my calendar part. Wicked part two. November 21st, 2025. Yeah.
Wow, so it's like an exactly. Exactly. I will say, when we talked about having to wait for the part two, we were very upset about it. Yeah. I now think it's a spectacular move on their part because we are all...
wanting it so bad that it's not something we're going to forget about next year. No. Let me tell you, the years start coming and they don't stop coming. They go by fast. No, Wicked is going to consume my next two years. Starting from now. Have you realized, now that we're older, how fast the years go by? Yeah, they do. Like,
Oh my God. Yeah. They just go by like this. Yep. We're going to get there and we're going to be like, oh my gosh, I'm so happy. I now have a little more treat. Yeah. Because if it was all said and done, what do we have? Right. And then...
No, it's so fair. And people can complain about it, but at the end of the day, people would be up in arms if they had to squeeze it to make it one movie, if they potentially cut songs. People are mad that certain lines from the movie, I mean from the musical, didn't make the movie. I've seen people be like, and there are, there are very funny lines in part one that didn't make it into the film. Some things got changed.
I mean, things...
Things have to be adjusted and changed and moved around in some way. I think they can't just take the musical and have it be exactly the same in the film. But people are up in arms about certain lines being left out of part one. It's like, oh my God, imagine if they tried to squeeze it into one movie. People would be furious. They would be so mad at them. They did the right move. And Ariana Grande has such amazing comedic timing. She does. And we knew that growing up, I feel like. Yeah. But-
It doesn't get talked about because it was Nickelodeon, so people just kind of write it off. But she really does have great comedic timing, and she is an actress. Like, she started...
with musical theater. Like that was her. It made me really excited for her to say that she has been saying like that, that's the path she kind of wants to go down and she tries to, and try to do more roles like that or, or get maybe back into acting a little bit more. And after watching this, like that could not make me more excited. Me too. I mean, she is just incredible. The both of them really Bravo, Bravo, Bravo, Bravo to wicked because she,
It's going to have me in a chokehold for a long time. For a long time. It was just so, so good. I'm trying to think of anything else that we missed, but I feel like we covered. No, I mean. We could really talk about it for hours and hours. Jonathan Bailey is just a beautiful, beautiful man. Oh, he's a delight. Oh, God. He's a delight. What a man. What a man he is. What a man. What a man. What a mighty good man. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.
Dancing through life. He's so good. Dancing through life. It was so good. He was. Oh my gosh. Let me tell you, I still was looking at Ariana Grande. I was going to say the same thing. In the background. I was going to say the same thing. Even in those big moments, she was dancing her little ass off. I was so impressed. Kicking her feet around. Yeah. It was just incredible. I know. Oh man. But yeah. And you know what? Fine, Ethan Slater. You were good too. Right. Yeah.
Well, it's just funny that Ethan Slater's role in the movie is just being obsessed with Ariana Grande, you know? And I'm like, is that how this happened? Right. Yeah. There's no way that didn't play a part. I also think it was very funny. I don't know if you saw the interview where they were talking about it. I watched the behind-the-curtain special that they did. And they basically told Ethan they were modeling the munchkins over...
the look of the munchkins being like, oh, you know, red hair, freckles, chore. Like, he's like, oh, it's just me? Like, oh, it's just...
You're modeling the Munchkins over me. And you know what? When you look at all them, my exact thought was, wow, they all look like Ethan Slater. I was like, I can't find him. They all look like him. No, no, no. Everybody was, it was a fantastically well done. Beautiful film. Across the board. And I feel sorry for anybody that can't appreciate a good musical and can't go to the theater and enjoy it and have a good time with it.
Are you looking at? He is. He's not even listening. So it's fine. Oh, she was talking to you. Oh, you were talking to me? I mean, I wasn't talking to you. I just was assuming you were listening, you know? Oh. I will say this. I just don't understand it. Does it make you want to see a little bit more hearing that they were live singing? That is impressive to me. I'm not sure it makes me want to. I just know that I'm not going to love it as much as everyone who loves. Let's do a Noah goes and sees Wicked Challenge. Okay.
Here's the thing though. I don't want to say I think it would maybe more upset if he went to see and he came out and he was like Like I'd rather he just not go see it and you know what it's okay if that's if musicals aren't your thing Yeah, no, I said before we recorded like La La Land's like the only musical I can think of that I was like Yeah, if you don't like musicals then then really don't even you know exactly and
I don't think I would walk out of it being like, oh, that was terrible. But I just don't think I would appreciate it as much as everyone else. It's not your forte, and that's fine. But maybe it is. I don't know. I don't know. It depends. I mean, not everyone loves musicals. No.
We can't relate. Couldn't be us. We can't relate to that. It could not be us. Two musically inclined girls. But it's okay if you don't. Yeah. I want to be able to do... I'll never be able to do it. It's just...
Some people have so much talent in them and I'm so jealous of everybody recreating the book choreography, Ariana's book choreography. And it's all over my TikTok. It's just everybody doing it. I'm just watching. I'm like, God, I'll never be able to do that. Oh, you totally can. No, I don't think I can. I don't think I can. I just, I don't think I, I think it would take me like five days to,
to maybe get some of it down. But man, there's some talented dancers out there in the world and they are crushing that choreography. And you know what?
I've seen some people who are trying to do it. They're not that good, but they're trying. The effort is there. The effort is there. I might try and do it and have you grade it. You should try and do it. I'll do it with my hair when I have a blowout. Oh, you'll nail it though. It's just the, and then it's like the move around the book. Yeah. I'll do it maybe this week. Dear Galinda. Oh gosh. You are just too good. I just wish. I wish. Yeah. Man, that would be my wish. Oh man. Whatever my heart desired to the wizard. Some dance moves. Yeah.
Freaking wizard doesn't even have any powers. Yeah, he's a schmuck. Yeah, totally. Okay, moving on. Now we're going to talk about something so not as exciting whatsoever. Nothing is as exciting. Can we just end the podcast here? I don't think anybody wants to talk about it. No, it's just like, who cares that Luann made out with Hugh Grant? I mean, I guess I kind of do care. It's just wicked. It's wicked day. It is wicked day. Why can't we just celebrate? Yeah. Let us celebrate. One short day in the Emerald City.
Speaking of us harmonizing together. Yeah. Their voices together. Oh my God. Perfection. Oh yeah. Oh my God. Yeah. Like a mix of Jesus and Fergie. It's just too damn good. Silky smooth. Silky smooth. Silky smooth. Beautiful. I know where I'm about to go back. I talk about it again, but this is my last thought. Cause I didn't say it before for somebody who didn't really have a lot of lines. Yeah.
I thought Bowen Yang was also fantastic. So good. Wait, I wanted to mention that. Yeah. I forgot to mention that. That just came into my mind. And I'm so glad he was able to do it. Same. Because did you hear the story about how Ariana Grande had to call Lorne Michaels to let him do the film because Saturday Night Live, they can't take off and go do a movie. No, they can't be missing shows or anything. They can't be missing shows and go do a movie at the same time. And Ariana Grande called Lorne Michaels up and was like,
It is quite literally the perfect example of what if we just called Lauren up. What if you just called Lauren up? So good. He was so funny. So funny. He had the perfect lines. Yeah. Like genuinely. And they were short and sweet. He didn't say much, but they were so good. And sometimes you could just hear his, you would hear him in the background, which was very good because even that was comedically very funny. So funny. There were a couple times where I chuckled loudly at Lauren.
He is hysterical. No, he is. And he nailed that. The delivery of the line. It was the perfect little comedic touch. Totally. So, so, so good. Yep.
Okay. We just really want to give everyone their flowers. We can sit here all day. I just want them all to lie. I want to go to the theater. I want them all to come out one by one. I want to lay a single rose at their feet, maybe kiss their toes and, and, and they take a bow. I agree. I would kiss all their toes. I would go. Yep. Yep. Down the line. Oh my God. And like just a single rose for each, each one of them. Yeah, I totally would. All right.
All right, let's talk about Louis. I would kiss each pinky toe, each big toe. I would do it all. Yep.

Yeah. The Countess. Yeah. She said that she made out with Hugh Grant. What a story. In the Hamptons. And I would expect her to make out with Hugh Grant nowhere else than the Hamptons. Right. She did an interview with Too Fab. Classic. Classic. And she said that...
A girlfriend of hers had... This is what she said. Direct quote. A girlfriend of mine called me and was like, Hugh Grant is at Pierre's. I said, I'll be right over. I called and said, get the table right next to Hugh Grant. We need the table next to Hugh Grant. I had my family over. My brother was visiting me and I said, let's go. Then she said, um...
She began flirting with you before their meet queue got hot and heavy. I said, sit me right behind him. I pushed out my chair real fast and bumped into him. Flirting 101. I could just, and Luann, Luann is a storyteller. She really is. Okay, so she was flirting 101. I bumped into him and said, oh, I'm so sorry. She went on to say that the Golden Globe winner recognized her because they are both friends with Andy Cohen. Of course, she's like, did he recognize her? Yeah, of course.
after she bumped into him, she said she offered to buy him a drink. I'm so sorry. Can I buy you a shot? I feel terrible. He goes, okay, but I'll come have a shot with you if you do one with me. Ooh. Yeah. Before you know it, we're taking a few grants saying that I'm like, before you know it, we're taking shots and making out heavily at the table. Oh, I'm on fire right now. Yeah. Heavily, heavily. She said,
My brother was like, I can't believe you're making out with Hugh Grant. And I was like, neither can I. Before changing the subject, Luann also alluded to the fact that she and Grant were kind of tipsy at that point. Duh. So just a drunk...
She's just a girl. Yeah. Just a drunk makeout, a heavy makeout with Hugh Grant at Pierre's in the Hamptons. I'm just a girl asking Hugh Grant to make out with me at Pierre's in the Hamptons. Honestly, this image is so funny. Hugh Grant is kind of a little bit of like a dirty dog. So I totally see this for him.
I'm picturing Hugh Grant and Luann flirting. And weirdly, I buy it. Because I think Luann can flirt with anybody. She can flirt it up and down. I mean, I feel like sometimes she's flirting with us when we interview her. She just has these eyes. She just has that way of speaking. That gaze. Yeah, 100%. And Hugh Grant. I feel like you can't make out with Hugh Grant unless...
you are heavily tipsy. You know what I mean? Like you can't have a sober make out with you, Grant. You have to tell people...
I had a drunk make out with Hugh Grant. Got it. No, it's just fantastic. I mean, I just think of like the way when she's been on our show that she'll be like, oh, girls. And just thinking of her being like, oh, Hugh. I want her to come in here just to tell this story to us again. We can tell the story. Just so we can hear it from her voice. Well, now she's got herself in a pickle because she told the story once and now everybody's going to be asking her about it forever because Hugh Grant's a star and there's a little bit of a...
There's a little bit of a Hugh Grant renaissance happening right now, I feel, on the internet with the younger generation where Hugh Grant, everybody loves him. He's a rom-com icon. He does all these movies. But everyone gets kind of like a different idea about Hugh Grant, especially from his movie characters. Like he's not his movie characters in real life. No. So then there was a time where I think there was maybe some,
cheating, some... It was like prostitution. Yeah, I think there were some... I think he was arrested. He's been arrested a few times. There's been some instances in his personal life that maybe people were like, oh, Hugh Grant, maybe not the best guy. And then it was like, oh, you know, he's so grumpy, so British and grumpy and sarcastic and mean. Like, everyone's like, you know, he's mean. But now...
he's doing, he's been doing press and his grumpiness, and I don't know if it's just because he's getting older, but his grumpiness, everyone's loving. Everyone's like, look how grumpy he is. We love it. Like he's just a curmudgeon. Like he's complaining about everything. There's a charm. Everybody's like, I love it. There's this,
There's this audio that was people were doing that I saw that was cracking me up. I actually I went to myself I was doing is so funny But he went on to set the Myers and Seth Meyers was like I hear you have like a lot of pet peeves And let's let's talk about some of them And then you say people like walking too slow, and he just goes unbearable He's just
Like he's just a grumpy old man now, but everybody's like loving his grumpiness. He like really didn't want, you know, like the scene in love actually where he's like dancing throughout the whole, like he like,
really tried to not do that. Like they had to like force him to do it. He was like, I'm a prime minister wouldn't like dance around. Yeah. Yeah. I could see that. He talked about his role in Notting Hill and he was like, I'm like, he hates his character. He hates his character. He is a miserable, miserable man. Yeah. He's a good actor then. No. And that's just why now it's just like so funny. He was, and I don't know why I'm just like on Hugh Grant TikTok now maybe, but he was also retelling a story about how, uh,
Donald Trump did like a cameo in Two Weeks Notice, the movie he did with Sandra Bullock. And he was asked like, oh, do you remember him, whatever? And he was like, honestly, the day he was on set, I don't really remember at all. Sandy and I had a bet that I couldn't make the studio head cry by 9 p.m.
And they all start dying laughing. He's like, so I was really concentrating on that. He then explained that the studio head was a very emotional man. And if you really got him going, talking about his family and his kids, he would cry or whatever. That's amazing. But he was like, I was so busy trying to get this man to cry that I completely forgot about this. That is incredible. He also just did, at the Governor's Awards, they honored the writer-
Of a lot of these movies that he's done. I think this... I don't know if he... I think he wrote Love Actually. He's directed a bunch as well. I'm spacing on his name, which is not great. But he did the whole speech honoring him. Same kind of thing. A lot of self-deprecation. A lot of making fun of the guy. But he was...
But that's just, I mean, I feel like everybody's talking about it right now that these like younger, this younger generation is like, look at this. Look at how grumpy he is. I love it. And now they're going to be so jealous. I would love to know the time. I would love to know like when this happened. Right. I don't know if Luann gave us an era, like what era she was making out with. I hope it was in like the 2010s. Right. I mean, she had to have been a housewife because if she's saying that like, oh, they had a mutual friend in Andy Cohen. So that would have been my...
That would have been my guess as well. He has been married since 2018. Yeah. So I would guess probably I'm going to go like a 20, 2013, 2014. Right. Right.
she was kind of she was married too then i don't know who knows i don't know maybe there maybe it's a small little maybe there's it's all a little blurry right a little blur she doesn't exactly remember the story she wasn't supposed to i don't know right who knows who knows but what a story yeah what a great story great story talk about like hearing somebody's you know sometimes you say that your friends at a bar or whatever and i think it happens in new york too where they're like oh my god so and so's at the bar like holy shit freaking out and luann heard that was like
I'm on my way, honey. Huge. Save me. Get me the table right next to him. Just wait for me. I'm there, baby. Amazing. She made it happen. Glenn Powell lookalike contest. Another lookalike contest. Another one. And now it's going to be Glenn Powell. And I'm not sure anybody can quite relate to Glenn Powell's teeth, smile, mouth situation. Yeah, fair. Unless you're part of his family. Everybody in his family has the same mouth. And unless you're a part of the Powell family, I'm not sure you quite have it. But the stakes have been raised. Yeah.
The Powells are offering a spot in Glenn Powell's next film, a cameo, if you win the Glenn Powell. There was a winner. Yes. Well, it was if you won. It happened this weekend. If you won, you get the cameo. Yeah. It is very funny because man of these events hit or miss. And...
Some are out of this world and some aren't. And here's the thing. Pop Crave somehow gets footage of all these events, whether there are six people there or 600 people there. It's absolutely insane. Last week they posted footage from the Zendaya lookalike. Oh my God. Not a big turnout. Oh my God, no. And you know what?
Glad people had the awareness. Yeah. Yep. But you know what? Everybody showed up in Austin for the Glenn Powell one. That looked like a par-tay. Girls are screaming. Guys are standing up on blocks. They're taking their shirts off. They're doing the whole thing. Girls here at Glenn Powell look like contestants. They're like, this is a perfect way to meet a man. Yeah, right. This is a perfect way to meet a guy who somewhat resembles Glenn Powell. Probably not. It looked like a giant event. Probably not in any way, shape, or form. I will say some of them. Pretty good.
But that's what I'm saying. The girls are probably like, wait, we should go to this event. Maybe we'll meet somebody. There's a bunch of guys who think they look like Glenn Powell. The Zendaya one, it's like people having the awareness like, we're never going to live up to Zendaya. They did one in Philly for Miles Teller as well this weekend. And I saw the winner. Miles Teller has a very interesting face. He does. A very interesting face that is hard to replicate, in my opinion. Yeah. Yeah.
The, um, but man was, is it a compliment to say somebody who has an interesting face? I think so. I think so. It's unique. He has a, I think Miles Teller has an, a unique face. That's hard to like. Yeah. So it was actually very funny. Like Glenn posted a whole video of him acknowledging the competition and said he was, he's filming overseas right now or else he would have loved to have been there. And, uh,
seen this spectacle he loves Austin obviously they did it in Austin and then he said you know I and every movie that I do my parents have have a cameo whoever wins like I will have their parents or family member you know die
have a cameo in my next movie. So, and he goes, a prize worth $6 billion. So it was, it was very funny. I mean, and good, you know, that's, I like that because that's a way of acknowledging the event. And obviously I think he really would have shown up if he could have a la Timothee Chalamet, but he could not. I 100% can picture Glenn Powell showing up with a frontward facing hat, a Texas Jersey and some jeans. And let me tell you something. If he wore a big enough hat and went like twisters, Glenn Powell, he,
He could have blended in because there were some people there for that competition with the giant hats. And if the hat was over their face and we're just like, I'm a guy, Glenn Powell. I mean, that's the kind of guy Glenn Powell is, the kind of stand up guy he is to acknowledge the event and offer something. Offer not just the $50, but hey, little cameo. Yep. Little cameo as well. We're up in the stakes. Yeah.
We are up with the stakes for the lookalike competition. And can I say. Look out because it's only going up from here. We had $50 on a giant check. And we've gone from that to now you're giving out cameos. Should we hold a Rheanne Fran lookalike contest? Oh, yeah.
What's the prize? But you have to come as a pair. You have to find your Rhea and your Fran and you have to come as a pair. All I know is I will be holding space for the Glenn Powell lookalike competition. What was I just going to say? It just totally fell out of my brain. Oh, one of our listeners was in charge of the Jeremy Allen White lookalike contest in Chicago. Yes. We received a DM on Chicks in the Office and...
We speculated on who's running these things. And she said, honey, it's me. Hand up, it's me. That's unbelievable. Just so incredible. But yeah, more to come, it seems like. These lookalike contests are... It's picking up real steam here. And honestly, we'll never run out of them because there's tons of actors and actresses that we can make this happen. But I think the male ones are more popular. Sure seems like it. It's just something that I think...
we're just more interested in the girls out there. It's funnier to us. Right. It's a, it's like a pop culture moment happening right now that you see it. You want to show up, which is why like, I think all these girls are showing up to these events. Yeah. And then the girl one can get mean. Like, like, yeah. Oh, if a bunch of Zendaya show up and then we're judging it, it's like funnier to judge. I sent you guys the, I sent it to you guys in our group chat, the video pop crave posted the Zendaya competition. And I, I almost, I almost shed a tear from how, um,
How sad. It's like six people. No, it just seemed it was no event. No event. It was no event. It's a small, small gathering. Small, small gathering. Right. Exactly. All right. That wraps up the topics.

All right, let's get into the Weekly Watch Report where we talk about the things we watched this week. Weekly Watch Report on Monday. Weekly Watch Report on Monday. Can you make it wicked? I was trying to. Yeah. I don't know if anybody wants to hear that from me. No, come on. Ahem. Come on. Ahem. We watch! Noah's crawling under the desk. Let me tell you something. So why would you... No, because you took that in a different direction. I thought you were going to do like a little...
Weekly Watch Report. Let's see what we're watching. Like kind of like doing it to the tune of a song. No, I went opera. And you went opera. I didn't think you were going to go opera. I was having fun until I looked across me and saw this man like crouched under his desk. Which is funny because you have headphones on so there was no escaping it. No. He like leaned over like he wasn't going to be able to hear it. He has headphones on. And like the face he was making was like making me want to delete the whole podcast. Yeah.
You know? I was thinking like... I hate when my light gets dimmed. Weekly Watch report on a Monday. You should do it then. Can we do it together? Can we? Let's do it together. Give me your finger. Let's do it together. Weekly Watch report on a Monday. Weekly Watch report on a Monday. Weekly Watch... Beautiful. Beautiful.
Whatever. Beautiful. If you're still here, we'll talk about what we watched. You know what? I don't even care if people get upset. I don't care either. I thought that was beautiful. You know what I mean? I'm just having fun. I tell myself when I get upset about the criticism. What are two girls supposed to do the day after seeing Wicked but not want to sing? What are you supposed to do when you don't have any talent but you enjoy singing? Am I not supposed to sing? No.
Yes. No. You're right. We're supposed to keep going and enjoy life. Enjoy the things in life even if you're bad at it. I don't tell people who are bad knitters that they should fucking stop. Do you have someone in mind?
No. It was just a thought. That was just like a very specific. Yeah. It was just a thought I had. Thinking of people's hobbies. But guess what? She's seen a lot of bad knitting in her day. She's never commented on it once. I don't tell people, you're a bad painter. Stop painting. Yeah. Artistic expression. Right. Express yourself. Express yourself. Okay. Anyways, I'll stop now.
After Noah tried to dim my light. It can never be dimmed. It cannot. Especially after Wicked. I watched Mild Ass on Prime. Prime Video. The ending of this movie, I was not okay. Yeah, I saw that it was a tearjerker. I'm going to watch it this week. It's on my list, like high up. No, it's going to rip you apart. Oh, God. I can't.
It like seriously like it was really good. Yeah, it was really good. What's the premise? Instant tears right now. It just was like it's like Aubrey. It's a young girl and she's visited by right her older self. Like it's like a time travel type thing. I don't think they time travel. No, they take a bunch of shrooms. Yeah. And she is presented with her.
older self her 39 year old self and she's about to graduate high school go to college and um Aubrey Plaza plays her older self and she's basically like trying to teach her like avoid this avoid that like don't do that you know like trying to say like take a different path yeah I have chills honestly I don't want to spoil it yeah yeah no I'm gonna watch it but I heard it was fantastic
fantastic the way my inbiz line just hit fantastic was tough fantastic I'm glad you did that did that because I was like on the verge of crying and then you and then you fantastic and then you said that now no no longer am I crying good good good um but I'd recommend it is it's like it it teaches you a lesson kind of but um it is sad but yes you know they're supposed to be happy but yeah really it's
Or something. One of those. One of those. You know my biggest fear. It's, you know. Yeah. One of those. So I'll give it a B plus. Because I will say there were like in the middle where I was like, you know, but the ending really...
pulled it really pulled me back in yeah it really fucking pulled me right back in so I watched that there is a new Cruel Intentions show on Prime I heard about this love Cruel Intentions the movie never seen it really yeah never seen it oh my god that's one of the ones I've never seen I know Ryan Felipe right Ryan Felipe and Reese Witherspoon that's how they come together and I just have to say and this is gonna be straight up mean you know let's hold space for mean comments in this podcast yep
if you're gonna space for being a yes what exactly exactly fran if you're gonna do cruel intentions you better have a guy that can emulate the kind of charisma that ryan felipe put off i'll leave it at that he's not doing it not not at all i'll read my text with my with my sister because my sister
is the biggest Cruel Intentions fan. Yeah. The biggest Ryan Felipe. Like, literally since we started this job, she's been like, can you interview Ryan Felipe? Yeah. Like, she's obsessed with Ryan Felipe. I texted her last night, and I'm going to, like, censor some of my texts. I don't really want to be that much of a bitch. Right. But I said, this guy, no. The gist of the text messages were like, this guy in Cruel Intentions is not as hot as Ryan Felipe. Mm-hmm.
And she wrote, don't get me started. It's been bothering me since Thursday. They're not even comparable. And I wrote, I'm low key, like not as interested. And she wrote, I'm not even low key. I'm 100% uninterested. I stopped watching it episode two because I was so mad. I don't know how they could do this. I don't know how they could do this.
it was so fucking funny to me I don't know how they could do this and she just said I just don't get how you don't cast an extreme heartthrob this guy makes me feel weird which was making me laugh because she really is like the biggest yeah yeah Ryan Felipe Cruel Intentions fan um but that's just gonna happen I think when you have like such an iconic movie like that and then you have a show yeah I'm still interested in the show but it's just like
The guy, to me, doesn't have that certain je ne sais quoi that this role kind of... I mean, but who am I to say? The casting directors, the director, they all chose him. Yeah. They all chose him. I'm sure hundreds of actors auditioned and they chose this guy. It's your taste. So clearly he has something that they were appealed to. Yeah. Me, not so much. I had that issue with...
What was the show that everybody told me to watch? The Walter Brothers? No, no, no, no, no. My Life with the Walter Bros? No, I enjoyed that one. Yeah. No, Lady Jane. Lady Jane, yes. And I was like, this is not going to cut it. I remember you said that to me. You were like, this is going to sound mean. This is not going to cut it. But this guy is not going to cut it. This is not going to cut it for me. Yeah.
And I thought I would go back and finish that show and I have not. So I never went back to it after watching the first three episodes. And like you said, this is called holding space for being a bitch. And then we move along and we get a little bit nicer. But Cruel Intentions, I'm not deep enough to grade it yet. I literally watched the first episode and was so distracted by texting my sister that I can't give it a proper grading. What else did I watch? Wiccan.
I'll give it an A+. What am I going to be shy about it? Yeah. Beat around the bush? What am I going to beat around the bush? Straight up, it's an A+. You got to go where your heart desires. What am I going to try to find something wrong with it? No, I thought it was an A+. I agree. It's an A+, for me, too. It really is. A+. I try to think, like, could I be a little more critical? Sure. Because here I go, and I'm bringing up Gia again, but she gave it a four on her letterbox. You know what? I saw that. And I texted her, and I went, a four? Friend, you know what I did? What?
I swear to God. Yeah. After I saw that on her story, I Googled, how many stars can you give on Letterboxd? Because I had no idea. Four has got it. In my head, I said, four must be the highest. That's what I said. I said, well, four. I said, what a weird grading system. I said, wow, they go one through four?
out of the movie she was like that was amazing she only had great things to say when we came out of the movie she posted on her story it was a thousand out of ten so I had the same thought I saw it oh my god letterbox is one through four that doesn't make any sense whatever happened to one through five I think people get a fucking letter and once again she's not here to defend herself so sorry Gia but I think that some people get a fucking letterbox and they think they're the New York Times movie critic they become a movie critic I texted her and I said a four letterbox
raving about the movie. She said she thought it was a little too long and that there were some scenes that were a little too cheesy and then she felt that it was, which is funny because there was this criticism on Twitter I saw. I just don't have that eye. Like I just, visually to me I thought it was spectacular. She was like, I thought it was like not like colorful enough. Like it just like was like a little dull.
Like she was like this set, like she wasn't blown away by the size. You can also give a half star. She could have given a 4.5. No, I know. She went full down to four.
I'm nauseous. No, I know. I said I couldn't keep going with that. Because I can't believe we both looked up the letterboxd. Because I truly was like, no, she loved it. She said she loved it. She put a thousand out of ten on her story and then you give it a four? How do you get a thousand out of ten? That means you'd give it a thousand out of five. Right, but this is where everybody's a fucking... Everybody's a critic. Everybody's a critic. You know,
She said she wasn't super duper impressed visually. John MQ knows more. She said, I don't know if it was a scream, but I wish it was brighter. What? Now, John...
had a response because people online were saying this to Gia not to Gia people online were saying the way I draw my what no no no people online were saying that they did feel like the movie was desaturated that this like wasn't as bright people were expecting like Barbie yeah it may be I think in fake world I don't know and his response was there's color all over it I think what we wanted to do was immerse people into Oz to make it a real place because if it was a
fake place, if it was a dream in someone's mind, then the real relationships and the stakes that these two girls are going through wouldn't feel real. So he wanted to make it seem like a real world, but at the same time, obviously, like, it is fake. But, you know, I get what he was trying to say. Let me tell you something. He didn't want to make the movie look like a dream.
I like that. And I like that vision. And let me tell you something. I didn't think about the lighting for not a millisecond of that movie. Not one second. You know what? Can I just say? Not one second. That is proof that...
the older ladies that we are yeah it's nice to be a little naive to the internet yeah because Gia is spending too much time on TikTok reading every criticism that people have to offer and then then you see it and then you start thinking it yeah you know yeah because that wasn't even a
in a thought in my brain. No, I know. That's what I said. I said, I just had to go off my gut reaction when I walked out of that theater and I was floored. Gut reaction, A+. Yeah. And this is what I mean and I said it on the last podcast, but people root for bad things. They want to nitpick a little movie critic. What can we fucking take apart from this movie? Me and you, we're not movie critics. No. We see art. We respect art. We give it an A+. Yeah. So that's that. I didn't think a second about the lighting. Neither did I. I'm upset that people are upset about the lighting. I will say,
I am. Yeah. I think like we saw her. I think I maybe need to see it on a bigger screen. I will. I will give her that criticism that it was like, you know, it was a 1 p.m. on Sunday, like smaller. No, no. It was just a normal laser AMC screening. OK, the screen was. But I like. But truly would have never crossed my mind. That's so funny. That was a thousand out of ten. Amazing. Amazing.
But a little desaturated, so you lose a star. A full star. She knocked off a full star. I couldn't believe it was a four. Should I get her in here right now? I don't know. I think it might make me upset. I don't want to have to fight with her. I know, I know. We stopped talking about it last night. If you want to bring her in here, but it's not going to be good. I know. I'm going to be upset. Well, let's just see. She was in the office before, but let's just see. Hello? Hey, are you recording? No, why?
Can you come into the Chicks in the Office studio for a second? Rhea and I want to question you on your four out of five stars for Wicked. Okay, sounds good. So I just want to start off with one question because I said this on the podcast, so I want to say it to your face. Okay. Oh, God. Okay. Do you feel like maybe spending time on TikTok or Twitter and seeing the criticism that people have towards the movie have directly affected
infected your brain of the criticism you had, particularly the lighting comment. I would say more so actually the longer scenes than the lighting. I think honestly from the trailer was the first thing I noticed was the lack of color.
In my opinion. Not that I didn't think it was colorful. I just thought that it was a little dull. But do you get what John M. Chu is saying when he says he wanted it not to feel like a dream world? But it is. It is.
It's a fake world. It's a movie. It's real for them. It's not for them. It's real for the girls. Okay, but they're not watching themselves. Our joke was funny because I said, you posted on your story like a million out of ten and then you slapped it with a four. Well, a four is
is still really high but if you do a thousand out of ten that's more than a five I mean it says at least a four and a half I think maybe that was and honestly me and Fran both had the same thing happen to us do you think that you have to be artsier on Letterboxd when you do your grading because people are artsier on Letterboxd good question that they're all they're all you are talking to a film studies and documentary production minor so I have been artsy since day one I went to school for film yeah
I dropped out, but I went to school. I've been critiquing films since a young age. But no. I still think four stars is very high. For a movie to be five stars for me, that has to be basically perfect. But you said a thousand out of ten. Exactly. That's just an exaggeration. But I'm holding on to the thousand out of ten. And so much so, Fran and I had the same thing. We're holding space for the thousand out of ten. We are. Thank God. And we had to Google...
How many stars you can give on Letterboxd? We actually both looked it up. When you posted four, I said, I googled, is four the highest amount of stars you can give on Letterboxd? I googled how many stars. No, five is. Five is, yeah. How many stars can you give on Letterboxd? And when I saw that, it was five. Because I thought, wow, what a weird grading system. Okay, well, I didn't say a million out of ten. Yeah. So like, Well, I mean, all I'm saying is a thousand out of ten and four out of five stars do not translate to the same grade. Mm.
know i think from the end from an initial reaction standpoint it i was so great that i was like whoa this movie's so good and then when i kind of was like thinking about like how i was feeling during the movie because like you know you come out and it's right after defying gravity so you're like oh my god what a scene blah blah blah and then when when i was walking home on my bike just you know thinking about the movie as a whole
I felt like Ariana Grande, she was amazing, show-stopping. She just looked a little washed out to me. Her skin tone with her hair and her outfits. That takes a full star. You're on the saturation train. The Munchkin land, everything about it just seemed a little...
extravagant than I expected it to be I think but isn't like the Emerald City to me kind of looked like a bunch of hullabaloo like there wasn't really hullabaloo she said I can't believe the words coming out of her mouth hullabaloo she said oh my god I know
I'm sick. But here's the thing, like, that's why I thought it was also great. I'm just looking at my Google searches of Letterboxd. There are scenes in the movie in which I thought, this is unnecessary. Let's move on here a little bit. But I thought they were so quick where it's like a great- Like the yellow brick road?
Like really? We're going purple, blue, green. I told you, I told you. That's what she said. We're repeating ourselves a little bit. Ooh, the yellow, that has a nice tone to it. Fucking cut that scene. What a nitpicky, what a little nitpicky response to a beautiful scene. You know everybody loved that, you know everybody loved that line from Ariana, everybody's talking about that. I think they said she ad-libbed that. That, it's just like when she says, It was so Glinda. It's like it's road. That's whatever she says about the yellow being road. Everybody fucking loved that line. It was so Glinda. But also, think about how long
God forbid someone has a criticism. Well, think about how long that scene really was. A minute? Yeah, and it was two hours and 34 minutes. It would have been better if it was two hours and 32. It was two hours and 40. Yeah, it was a long movie. It was a long movie, but the length did not bother me at all. No, I agree. I just felt like there were certain scenes where I was like, that wasn't necessary. Now, I'm going to repeat myself. So, Noah, maybe your editing skills is going to have to come into play here a little bit. I agree.
The length I said That like When you go to see A musical on Broadway There doesn't have to be As many Actual As Doesn't have to be As much dialogue Right
Yeah But when you watch A movie musical People are so critical Of movie musicals Because there's so many People who go see it Who like Are expecting a movie Yeah That they put more dialogue in And that's gonna make That's gonna make For a longer movie Yeah That's true That's very true I get that Because if it was all Just singing like it is Mostly in the You know Musical more vibes Yeah People would be like Too much singing Yeah
Yeah, I get that. At the same time, you got to know what you're getting into with the movie musical. Yeah, of course. I think the reason that I like Joel. At the end of the day, I think the saturation should have deserved a quarter of a star knockoff. It's not just saturation. It's like just the color grading in general. I'm more just thrown off by the 1,000 out of 10 story into a four. Well, we're on the Weekly Watch Report, so what would you give it as a letter grade?
Oh, God. A minus. Okay. Okay. Yeah. Okay, I gave it an A plus. You guys don't understand. A four on Letterboxd is very, very high. But we wouldn't understand. We're not on Letterboxd. We're not on Letterboxd. We're not on Letterboxd. We don't watch as many films. You guys don't critique film the way that I do. Let me put this in simple terms for you guys. Yeah, yeah. Let me break it down. For you uncultured swine.
Who just see a movie musical and say, that's good. All it takes is five seconds to download the app. Okay? And all it takes is for you to be on the scene. I just was thrown off by it. So you're people on Letterboxd who follow you on Letterboxd. Mm-hmm.
they're not following you on Instagram to see you put a thousand out of ten what's the average and then they're like she's but do you not understand what I'm saying like the Defying Gravity scene was so phenomenal that you walk out of the theater and your initial thought is like whoa and then it you kind of come back down to earth a little bit like that was so great I'm still flying high I'm Defying Gravity still today
So am I. I don't want people to think that I didn't like the movie. I fucking loved the movie. I cried the entire time. She cried the whole time. From the first line of Glinda coming down in the bubble, I literally was crying my eyes out when she goes, oh, some can say we were friends. I literally was like, oh my God, I'm not okay. This was a phenomenal movie. I just can't wholeheartedly give it five stars because I just had some critiques. These critiques are for John.
Me and John need to have a sit-down conversation. Because let me tell you, I wonder if the problem would have been fixed with just a little switch of a dial. Sometimes that's all it takes. If they just took that saturation from a 1 to a 1.5, would it have been a little brighter? I thought the movie was phenomenal. There's only a...
I want to say two to three movies that I've ever given five stars. One of them, off the top of my head, Interstellar, Little Women. Those are untouchable, perfect to a T. Little Women is such a long movie. Greta Gerwig's Little Women? I love Little Women, but Little Women is also very long. I never had an issue of the length of the movie.
It was just certain scenes that I felt was unnecessary that was adding to like, I love a two hour movie, a three hour movie. I, you know, Christopher Nolan movies are an average two hours. I just felt like there was some unnecessary tidbits. Yes. Some fluff that was added where I was like, I get it. It's a movie you want to add in things that like are funny. Some dialogue that is interesting. You know, how did they get the yellow brick road? Here is a little fluffy story about that.
I just didn't think it, it just didn't do anything to me. It kind of just made me think like, all right, like let's get to the, let's get to the good, you know, let's get to the fucking. So if you define this, you know,
Look, it didn't bother me at all. It didn't bother us. And that's the beauty of opinion. And that's the beauty of film critique as one film studies person to another. So true. That's the beauty of America. If we can't hold space for these kinds of conversations, what conversations can we have? So true. As people who work in media, you know, I've seen a few posts.
about the saturation for sure. Uh-huh. But I... It was enough that John was asked about it directly. It was a big... People were talking about it a lot. And I honestly... It was from the trailer and it was honestly Ariana with her clothes and her hair and just the trailer where I was like... Right. Something just seems a little dull. It's hard to not look washed out in baby pink and have long hair though. Very true. Very true. But like a little spray tan would have helped. Yes.
But she stole the show from me beyond words. She was amazing. Like I had mid, not mid, but a little, not too high of expectations for her. I thought Cynthia was going to be like, you know. And Ariana just brought the house down. Popular is like now my favorite song because, and I didn't really even like that one out of all these songs. Yeah. Okay, Gia, thank you. Yes, thank you. Yep.
I'm sorry, you know, she did end up giving, we said she gave an A-. Yeah, that's a high score. It's a great grade. We just were shocked. I was in between an A and A+, but you know what? I got to go with my heart. And your heart's A+. Yep. Everyone has a right to their opinion. This is the thing. They do. And I also like, there are certain things that bother certain people.
That just would never bother me. You know what I'm saying? Unless it was, unless it was so blatantly in my face or like the color thing. I just, I don't have that kind of eye. It just would not bother me. Maybe that's enough. Unless, unless the movie started out quite literally in black and white. And I was like, Oh, they should probably add some color into this. Maybe that's, maybe it's not even, maybe it's a problem. Right. Right.
And look, there could be a lot of listeners out there who are like, Gia's so right. I had that same thought. I'm sure there will be. Once again, there was enough people that thought that that John was asked about it in an interview. I just wanted to know if that was a genuine complaint of hers or if she just saw it online. And I think it was a genuine complaint of hers. I think, no, it really was. Because I will say, she sent that text about the color right after we saw the movie. So I was...
And then I like then in my head, I was trying to like go back and think about it. And I was like, OK, I could. Here's the thing. Like, I see it. I see what you say. It is not like in your face. Bright, bright, bright. But that was a creative choice. And now that that was a John M. Chu creative choice to not have it be that bright. And I honestly feel it adds like he said, but like.
it feels more human emotion. Like I feel like we're able to relate to them more and have those moments of tears and whatnot because of the realness it creates. But that's our opinion and many, many people are going to agree with Gia. I do feel that as well. We talked about Wicked so much today. We did. Okay, I'll move on because I don't have anything else to say. Oh, was that the last thing? I think. I've been watching Veep. I'm on season four. Oh, amazing. Love it? Love it. Hilarious.

I didn't watch too much TV this week actually either uh movie week since you know when to see Wicked A plus um I watched Gladiator for the first time never seen it the first Gladiator never seen it are you not entertained Gladiator 2 you know the whole all the hype and whatever I know there's like you don't have to see Gladiator to see Gladiator 2 um so I've been told but I was like oh I've never seen Gladiator and Joe wanted to watch it so so I watched it
Good movie. You know, I get it. I mean, it's, yeah, I don't know. I would say a great movie. I've heard not so good things about Paul. Miskel? Miskel. I've heard not great things about. I've heard not great things about the movie and not great things about Paul. I've heard Denzel carries. Yeah, that's what I saw too, is that, well, it's kind of, I don't know. I have to see it to really give more of an opinion, obviously, because I don't,
Like, is the story... I heard that it's basically just the same movie and just not nearly as good. And there's just so many, like, callbacks to the first one. But it's just like, what was the point of this? I feel like we went to go get lunch with Robbie Fox yesterday and he is such a movie guy. Yeah. And I trust who he's hearing from. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And he was saying that he hasn't heard great things about Gladiator 2. Look, I think for me, like, the first Gladiator, it was... I think it's just one of those movies where...
It is so acclaimed and so discussed that I had not seen it, but I felt like I had seen it. You know, does that make sense? Like from discussion and people talking about it, like I knew what happened. I knew the story. I knew like there was, yeah, there was no like surprises to me. Like I just knew. So going into it, it's tough because I mean, the movie came out 25 years ago. So it's like,
I've seen all the discussion about it, and I will say I'm not a massive blood and gore fan. It's not too gory, is it? It's pretty gory. I saw it a long time ago. It's pretty gory. I don't really remember. Yeah.
It's, yeah, no. But, no, I mean, it's a fantastic movie. I would give that like a, I mean, Gladiator gets like an A minus. Like, it's a great movie. Are you giving it a higher grade because you're afraid to give it a lower grade? No. I was just about to say, was the color the problem? No, no, no. It would have been an A. And I'm not because I just think I'm giving it a grade that I would give it if I hadn't known everything about it.
that happens in it before watching it, if that makes sense. Because it was like, I just knew the story. I knew what happened. I knew how it ends for him. Like I knew, you know, and it just kind of that kind of watching it for the first time. It's harder to fully get that experience. But I would understand otherwise. And I think it's tougher now to watching a movie like that comes out 25 years ago because a lot of the
Like special effects don't seem as great, I would say. But I can respect it for the movie that it is. It's interesting. The first one was an 80 on Rotten Tomatoes and this second one has a 72. So it's not like... Yeah, right. It's not like, yeah. It won Best Picture though, right? Did it? I thought it did. Okay. Okay.
What else did I watch? Oh, Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. Oh, yeah, it did. It did, yeah. Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, up to date. I'll give it a B. It's enjoyable. I've been liking Salt Lake. I've been liking this season. I keep repeating myself, I feel like, because there isn't anything over the top to talk about. But these ladies just can't stop fighting. Like, they just can't stop fighting over the silliest things. Mary hosting this Audrey Hepburn show.
Tea party, basically. And the outfits and the conversation. I never thought I'd be saying Mary was like the voice of reason in this conversation, but she was. It's been a turnaround season for her, I would say. But there's just some of these new characters in the mix are...
so at like Brittany is so out of it to me that it's just very very funny um Heather's being like a little extra mean but I think it's because she like they went on a big couple's trip and she was like she was left out and the whole thing like she's single I think that's like she's like really attacking yeah the girl that organized the part of the the trip they're not getting along anyway but um
We're still arguing about seats on planes and like not being in first class. It's just classic. Yeah. It's just like real house. And it goes back to what they were saying, because I know Bethany Frankel was in the, there's been some headlines about what she said about the new Roni. And, um,
I watched episode two of Roni. So, I mean, I can get I'll give that a C. I just think like I understand what she's saying with this cast is that the show has changed so much. And there and Bethany kind of made a follow up video that she was. I feel like what I'm saying is kind of getting twisted. She's like, you know, when we made the show, we were like nobody's.
It was not, you know, we weren't in those shoes. I had a studio apartment, like all these things that they were not like these socialites or Uber successful or all these things. And now the show has just changed because like Roni is all these women that are so accomplished, so successful. And, um,
I think she was kind of trying to say that sometimes the drama feels like less frivolous and silly because of that, which I do understand what she's saying in that sense. So I see, I'm like, there's not, there's not anything that quite that has wrote me in fully there. And yeah,
Honestly, that's all I watched. I have not watched a single episode of Love Island Australia this week. We were traveling. Yeah, we were traveling. Joe and I watched some movies. Oh, I watched Deadpool and Wolverine. Forgot we're doing movies. I had not seen it, which is crazy for the Marvel fan that I am. I thought it was good. It was like, this is going to be... It's tough for me because I normally love...
Ryan Reynolds whole like stick in movies and everything. I love the Deadpool character. There was like one too many gimmicks in this movie for me. Like I love a callback. I love like a reference. I love that.
But like I felt like this whole movie was built on that. So it was tough because I was watching with Joe and normally what I love about like a Marvel movie whatever you can sit down and maybe if you haven't seen some of the other ones you can still kind of put the pieces together. And
I was watching with Joe who's not really seen all them and he was like friend I this is making no sense he's like I don't understand anything that's happening right now and I was like honestly so fair even I'm like a little confused like there's some things just picturing I don't know why I'm picturing Joe saying that and it's cracking me no he like got up and walked into the bedroom he's like I'm done watching this like you enjoy the rest like I have no fucking idea what's going on um
And yeah, I don't know. It was just like it was I enjoyed it. I loved it. I didn't love it. I enjoyed it. But I was like, I mean, I'll give it a I'll give it a B plus. Like it was still entertaining. Normally, those movies for me are like a movies. And this one was.
Just really wasn't, which is funny because everybody was fucking raving about this movie when it came out. Well, maybe Ryan Reynolds was spending too much time writing scripts for It Ends With Us. Right, right, right. He couldn't focus on... Yep, yep, yep. Okay, that's everything I watched. Okay, I watched...
documentary about the Stanford prison experiment that's on Hulu, which I've heard about like a million times, but I feel like I'd never actually really knew the hard details. So it was interesting. The first couple episodes were more interesting because it was like about the actual experiment. And then the third one was just kind of like the aftermath and like kind of just how the experiment wasn't true and like everything was
Was kind of manipulated and fake. I'll give it like a C plus, though. I kind of got bored. All right. Not that good. I guess I'd rather just watch the original stuff. I watched Strange Darling, the movie. That's the one I talked about. Remember that I was very confused on how to... I remember I was like, someone watched this that I know. It was me. Yeah. Which I'm like, do you like this kind of movie? Because that was very...
like intense that's the exact conversation that we have is that I don't really like these kinds of movies I was like maybe it was real but then I'm like this doesn't seem like a movie I thought it was really good
But it was very intense. And then there were a lot of times where I thought, oh, I know what's going to happen. And it was partially true, but then I was surprised in another way. I thought it was really good. The acting and just the way that they told the story and structured everything. I'll give an A-. What did you give it? I don't remember.
I remember... If you were to give something right now. I remember... I remember you being like, I don't even know how to give this a grade. Yeah, because I was like, this is not my kind of movie, but I know people like it. Yeah. Yeah, okay. I remember that. Yeah, I thought it was good, though. Say Nothing, which is that show set in Ireland that I was talking about last time. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. It's on Hulu. I watched episodes two to seven, so I think I have like two or three more. Really good. Also, another story where I'm like...
Obviously, I've heard about the war in Ireland and all that stuff, but not really in great detail. Yeah, it's crazy. Crazy story. Crazy stuff. Speaking of Ireland, Bad Sister season two is out on Apple. Oh, I never got into that. Oh, Sex, Lies with College Girls. It is. Oh, my God. Wait, I watched the first episode. Oh, you did? Yes, I did. Is it good? Yeah, I just love the show. What's it on? It's on Max. Sorry, add that to mine. Okay.
I'll give it a B. Are they all out? No, just one. I'll give it a B just because purely because there's not much happening yet, but strictly I really just like the show. You were just happy to see them again? I was happy to see them again. Yeah, yeah. And then I just watched the newest Shrinking episode, which still continues just to be solid. It is good. I'll give it a B. I didn't love this one as much. It is good. I haven't watched a new one yet. Yeah. Yeah.
And, yeah, I feel like there was a new cameo this week. Now I'm forgetting who it was, but it was like a well-known actor who is now in the show. What days did the episodes come out? I think they come out on Tuesday or Wednesday. I think I've watched one. Was it six or seven that just came out? Seven was the one from last week. Okay, yeah, I've watched through six. Yeah, yeah. So I don't know. I can't. I'm not sure. If the cameo is in seven, then I haven't watched that one yet. Yeah.
But that's it. I'll say I'm excited to clock in some TV this week because there are seasons of shows out that I – new seasons. So Bad Sisters, Based on a True Story, the one with Kaley Cuoco. Wait, that's back? Yes, season two. I just butchered the last name. But season two of that is now out, the whole thing. Oh, I like that. So excited to watch. I cannot wait to watch that. Is that the one that was on Peacock? Yes. Yeah, yeah. Cannot wait to watch season two of that. Shrinking I have to catch up on. There will be new episodes of Sex, Lies, and College Girls. Will you ever watch Only Murders? Yes.
Right now, there's so much to catch up on because I'm still in the middle of The Penguin as well. You gotta finish The Penguin. No, I know. I do. The thing with The Penguin is they're feature films. So trying to hold space for the time to watch. Also, I started re-watching The Sopranos. I forgot about that as well. But
I've seen it a million times, so I won't give it a grade. It's an A, obviously. You could throw that on there. But I don't want people to think that's my first time on the graphic. But I will say, whenever I do a rewatch, I never really start from season one because I've seen it a million times. But I watched the first episode of The Sopranos for the first time since I watched it for the first time because I always rewatch from the middle. Yeah.
What a fantastic first episode of a show. It is. It is. It is a great episode. So no fucking Ziti? It's like the lines in the first episode are so good. So yeah. All right. Claire texted me and...
She goes, I'm starting One Tree Hill from the beginning for the first time ever. I said, oh my God. I said, enjoy. I'm so jealous. You're on. I said, what a ride you're on. For the first time ever to have that experience again, I would give anything. Oh my God, I'm so jealous of her brain right now. To never have seen it. Damn. She was like, so this guy was really having sex so much, unprotected sex. He's got the kids are in the same grade. I was like, yep. Oh my God. Wow. So jealous. That's incredible. I know. She's like, she asked me, um.
She's like, oh, are you going to like, am I going to get more answers to like the to the timeline here? I was like, oh, yeah, just God, just let me tell you, they answer everything and add some things that don't just wait. Yeah. But I'm jealous. Right. All right. That's everything we watched.
