Do 等等。 哒哒 哒哒。

From tender for TV elena, this is up and vanished. I'm your host pain lenzing. Ever since the judge issued a gag order in to a reinjects case, things in the sill got pretty silent. The local media thought hard to remove IT. Eventually they were successful.

What's going on?

We are here. Film in the T. V. Show for up and vanished.

Yes, we're back in osler again. Yeah, investigating terrace case and trying to figure out what happened. Have you heard anything?

Yeah.

I know people been quiet since the arrest.

Seems like a anything really, really I hadn't heard of thing. But you know, my generation, they don't know much about the part, kay, you know and they have, you know, my age, they haven't listen to what so .

so only will you do I do. You got a knife? I do .

your hit.

That's one.

You come.

I do. Actually, yeah, you might.

No, I more inmates. Are you doing any good? And you both image what? Yes, I did.

I know. sorry. One thing I hate about the west.

There are so many bugs here. There are so many books here.

Take some back with you. O, K.

i'll try. yeah.

Have the net.

No, not like this. This is.

this is way of.

oh, I like this. Stop music.

SHE didn't help me, did you?

I don't think so. Before going to solita shoots and interviews, I set down with my brother and my grandma and also help. Things have been in town.

Seems the arrest. If you remember, my grandma lives in self georgia, less than twenty minutes from a ciller. And just like everyone else there, she's been following this case for years.

OK. This is a surprise, surprise. That really is good places. So when you are going to now you going .

back to 我 跟 我们 show 呢, i came here first to see you.

Well, thank you. But when you go to the restaurant, do they know you there? I mean, how the people reacting when you sala a year ago.

they did. I'm assuming that they might know even more. Or now I know that if they like me or hate me or what, but think they're definitely to know we're here. But do you think that terrorist case is still a very sensitive .

service done? I think so so but I wish, gosh, I wish they could go to trial. Yeah, that what you know, I really do and I think IT IT was the next, you know but in fact there were mains.

She's been but what about bob? What has happened to him, not rine boat? What's happened to him to see working there or more? Do you know anything?

I think both working at a his girlfriend's man's restaurant just now walk in the frees waiting tables, I .

don't know, I don't round the world. They live with themselves as long with all that, you know. But why is IT that is taking so long for him to go the cold? Why think .

they all have a good place? It's always expensive. But he has a public defender and i'm sure this is a complicated case. And just as for most time to get possible, get to put up a good defense, but I don't really know and they're taking the time.

I hope IT always for you, honey. I hope all things will come to our and, you know, really had close, you know.

before leaving my grandma's house, I had to ask.

I pass a lot of the mount.

but will be honest, I need a lot of them.

I.

oh.

thank you.

This .

terrible.

They're while we were down to no sila, my business partner, Donald set down with matt seal, the mayor.

Small town life of sila. Everyone likes to think that they are very unique and special, but i'm sure we're like a lot about the small towns. Everybody knows everybody and it's just a real sense of community.

And sometimes he has lost in a big city. So I actually have lived in both the big city and small town for the small town myself, and still is just a great place, hard work in people. Most of the people that live here now, group here, have family here. And five, seven generations have farming the land in our own county. But then there are increasingly people like myself who who stumble upon IT and decided to call IT home and just made IT, made themselves part of the community.

What was the atmosphere like in the following weeks of .

the currency disappeared? Anytime something like that happens, if is just as a rebel fact in the whole town, it's not something that's just every day. Imagine in in a bigger city, you hear about a crime every day.

Every other day, IT seems to shake a small town a little more. And so there was no different here, two thousand and five. Just the idea that, hey, that got, I kind of think just doesn't happen here. And yet here IT had what happened.

I was, I was a mystery that since the community have already described, really came out because every weekend and even in between weekends, they were, they were, people get together going out to search, look for clues, look forward, know any signs that that would lead to the answers to these questions, just as a something like that kind of rocks. A small town, maybe a little harder than a place with larger population, where the people don't know everybody and is a school teacher. And so SHE was very well and very well like um that same small town atmosphere is what caused the community really come together and search for answers and and just comfort each other.

When did you first here that they were arrest?

Mate, in this case, police chief Billy hanker, hey, let me know. That was me oppress conference. There wasn't arrest made.

I was given the name, but I I D ask for any other information. I just knew that that things were were moving. And I know that was going to bring a lot of attention to still you were there.

You thought too. I mean, this court room was, I mean, absolutely packed in a way that i've never seen before. The TV cruz. We're not used the TV creighton and also IT was a big deal. There was a faceless person responsible, and now we had a face, and now we had a name, we get to see him.

And I mean, on the podcast, I remember the audio, yeah here here in the chains as he came in that that was IT was dramatic. It's certainly brought some answers but then of course, IT brought questions. So while IT brought some sense of closure, which was certainly certainly needed welcome um IT IT brought up the questions to so IT wasn't a complete the theory in the talk and you know you export something that stuff on the on the podcast before the arrest, he closed the door on who wasn't responsible. And I think that was the the best benefit because that came to in.

So there were two names that we felt out about right before the press conference, ryan dug go dugs. We actually talked at length about, do we put bowdoin's name out there to the public before authorities have the opportunity to discussing to be, you help us make that decision.

You remember that I do. I do how I went down.

What I mean, really, like I said, the arrest was able to close out some theories um and my fear and I still stand by what I said that day um there was rumors going around uh and his name came up and and still those rumors were grounded in something um I I was not interested in heaven and just more rumors and prety much start the process all over again of what happened in in a sila and era in two thousand and five that i'm always gonna when IT comes to my sitting and I guess this is my responsibility is the mayor supposed to be a good start to the finances? But also as much as I can the community and and cultural aspect, there's a way to to keep that kind of thing from inflaming a rumor mill. I'll always heard of that side.

Do you think ryan do can boat in a fair trial here in accounting? With so many people knowing about the case.

I think that would be difficult. And and we were talking before we got on here, your episodes will filip holway x where where a lot of this information will come from. One of these are of my discussion about where trial would have to be, because in our work down ny, IT would be too much of a chAllenge, and there be too much of doubt that I could be fair. They have to look for some other demographics, and so would be a similar enough community, but far enough a way that whatever community they pick on the whole state, George is likely heard about this case and heard the name. It's it's just too big for for you to find a place that nobody has, but in a place that has been been quite a saturated with the news and the rumors and the conjecture and you the the theories that that obviously a cilla or wonna be in where this happened and it's been to involve in .

some body is comes from a pretty prominent local family. Do you think that that could directly or indirectly benefit is trial?

I'm sure that would be a question if IT was an erwin county. Um I know that that anytime someone is loosely connected to you know what anyone would consider a prominent political family or person, there's always going to be the suspicion there's something like that. Personally, I don't know how much that actually would have played into.

But but just the idea that that questions going to raise and we're gone to ask a question, then i'm sure some some level of care will be taken to to make sure that at least minimized. And in a small town everybodies connected to somebody that's an elected official at the logo of state level, it's got a third cousin that's on the board of something in in georgia just because it's just a small you can not be related to somebody. I think .

people .

like to make a little more of that. That maybe is actually true um IT doesn't make good media um but I don't know how much that would I actually play into IT whenever you're dealing with um with someone of political promise um or or someone connected to anybody of any any level of power, you probably have just as many people that would actually hold that against that person then then would actually help him out anyway. So you know kind of cuts both ways on something like that.

Derek bowl is a first amendment wyers who represented abc, a fillettes in atlantic, and battled the gag order within days of ran dux arrest. There was a gag order in this case. Is that strange to you? Italian.

an unusual. In criminal cases, even high profile criminal cases, gag words are generally the exception, not the rule. Why so quickly? It's a cold case, the largest case of G, B.

I history. It's an unsolved murder of of someone who was surprised. Citizen in the community. So IT immediately garnered .

a lot of attention.

What happens when a gag water in? Or does everybody understands that? That means if you talk, you go to jail.

This can order a violation of the first .

time in the world. And that's what the George supreme court ruled.

What's gonna take to really find out what happened to to a fair trial?

That's exactly what should happen. And we don't dispence justice and secret in this country. The community voici la needs to know and feel comforted that long enforcement has the right people, that they don't need to be afraid that there's still a killer on the illusive. The community and the public has an equal interest in making sure that those are the right people.

today on IOS and android. While no sola, I talk to someone who had worked. There is case a few times you might recognized her voice from season to as well.

Her name is tracie surgeon, the search rescue dog expert. I actually met Tracy while working on this, and one, so I asked to come talk to us again. But so much speculation about where and how terrorists remains were found, I thought her perspective would be helpful.

Dogs tell us two things. They tell us where something is and where something isn't. And again, these dogs are trying to fine people, dead or alive. We start our search efforts that essentially ground zero.

Where was the person last saying or believed to have been? In this case, terror was believed to have been in her house where SHE was last known to be, not where he was last same, but where he was last known to be. So we spent outward, and we always start what we call the high probability areas first based upon a lot of variables.

As with any case, places change, area change, memories, you know, change. So IT gets much more difficult. And my experience is that, especially if you're looking in a wooded area, dogs are really a great and vital resource to help cover those areas.

You're looking in the woods. Things are grown up now. Things have change. You you don't see what you're looking for, where we are very limited in our uh, visual capabilities. If we're searching through the woods or even an environment like this, it's very easy to overlook something, even a four sized body. Certainly, if you're now looking at maybe bones or fragments, um it's very difficult to see that with our own eyes.

So dogs you can't hide set from them IT doesn't matter how would IT IT is or or how long it's been uh these dogs have found remains over two hundred and fifty years old. When tair disappeared, we were called in because I have searched dogs, and I was called in by the local enforcement officials, the share of office and the police department. And then, of course, from there, the gb.

I got involved and also assisted them as well. Over the years, we've been requested to come down in search different areas. All of them have been worded areas. When we first initially started the search while we were searching in a wooded area, there was a burned out structure um that they asked us to come .

in search back and road .

yes yes so we searched that area and that's the only structure or building, so to speak, that we search uh the dogs did indicate in that area and we we determine IT was human but IT was not human remains specifically related to terror in this case and this situation. The dogs did alert at that burn structure when we looked at IT. And in every case we look at when these dogs indicate to us that they are located, human remains cent.

We as the human part of this equation in this team is this related to the case? Is that evidence? What's going on? Why the dogs alert here? Was there a body here and then moved later on? Is there crime saying here? Or is that totally unrelated? We determine this was an older home with very old piping systems that that the dogs actually alerted to the pipe that was going to the bathroom into the cept system. The dogs were right. They told us their human remains sent here, but is not related to terrorist case, and it's not evidence for this case.

If A B then burned ten plus years later, could a dog still pick up that sense?

Yes, they can. Yes, they can. I'm going to say, is a proof of example of that, the sugar plant disaster that happened a number of years ago here in south georgia, in the sba area.

We actually search that area. And based upon what the investigators told us, they had temperatures ranging from anywhere from a thousand degrees, about forty five hundred degrees, extremely hot temperatures. There were still two persons missing in this huge, enormous area, very dangerous, very complicated, very difficult to search for, for people and dogs.

And the dogs were able to locate the remains of the last two victims in that disaster. So that showed us even in these extremely non only hot burned conditions for for the remains, but also all of the the smells, you've got just a vast amount of older that we can smell. We can only imagine what the dogs are picking up.

So they were not only able to locate these burned remains, even fragments, but also throughout all of those smells and and um you know be able to distinguish we've got human remains sent here versus all of the chemicals that they're into process, throw and say, no, that's not what i'm looking for. And i've learned over the years, honestly, paying dogs noses are a lot Better than my brain. So I trust these dogs.

They have this amazing, incredible ability to pick up and detect things. These dogs are amazing. You can't hide things from dogs. You can. So even if terrorists remains are burned, and even after all of these years, absolutely dogs can locate that.

Doctor maris gowan also joined us in oslo a and he brought always original crime scene photographs. And together we SAT down to go over room. Now that ryan aboo have been charged, if there wasn't did to struggle inside, there is home on that day all night, then the evidence would be in here.

Okay, this is the picture of the lap. There had to be large SHE couldn't see in the dark. So either he had the lamp one, or SHE had her overhead light on so ably.

He had this lamp on the lapse. Definitely broken here. Oh yeah.

definitely broken. So was this lap in europe.

Ion broken has been confirmed. A lap was not broken before that I did not. This land was broken during some top of altercation between terror and the perpetrator or perpetrators.

They have been broken in a struggle. I mean, to me, that makes more sense that I could have fall off the nice sam. You say that's not likely .

not to have that stress Marks into plastic that would require a two hands to break IT.

Why would somebody use their hands to break a .

lamp in the top of confrontation? Is hard to find this wage. I mean, I mean, so you just have to do the .

fastest dying rod was turn.

oh yes.

And in that action of scrambling to turn the lights off theyd, grab the lamp and front .

that this black pace here popped off there. And this was lay. And under the ban point is is suggest possible struggle and the sea ponies that the gbr didn't take the help and they didn't find this piece of plastic here, gbr came out. Or in october, they said that was IT was an undersong of struggle.

Well, we're grow as a paleo broken. The lp is broken. That's clear as a piece of plastic on the ground that you found.

This picture pully shows that the top of the lamp is kind of snap open. We don't know. Hello, I broken. But if you're saying that there was no evidence that this was broken before that night, then IT happened likely in some sort of trigger inside here.

Well, I confirmed the lap was not broken by family, friends.

Was this right here?

Here is our class from my necklace. And you can see that is actually pulled apart.

This, classed by itself, is mining less.

basically without the neck of spin. The bees on the floor is correct.

but the gba found beats on the floor from a broken necklace. st.

They were fail known, the floor scattered on the wooden floor at the foot of her bet. Audient found those that was before I got there, but so I knew that, so I went and got a money on the floor. SHE had the old tabi floors with travis is cracks between them that was saying, so I start to look at with a magnifying as gone, each up and down each one of those previs chess.

Well, this, I mean, you're got a missing teacher. You don't know what happen. This is possible.

Major case, right? 不是。 And even if IT wasn't a major case, you still should take these kind of stops. So I found a .

clasp here. It's clasp from that necklace, his head on that night.

I don't know. See, here's the thing. This is not direct evidence like DNA or fancy, this is a circle ball antil evidence. So in order for this, this class, to make sense, there has to be a known that the news was bees were late on the floor and broken. And so when you pit put those two pieces of the puzo together, that makes more sense.

So with those two things put together, you are saying that force.

pull this bark.

Look out, of course.

for my hand. I said her trying to get away and the proper try to trying to controller. I did a crush research of the house, and this is the the byron went the where he would take the lamps ode, where joe would look at to see if he was a homonym.

And this was a jar. But if you actually look into the center here, can see that this actually is beat, the luminary in the frame, the screen is beat. And this was off. I questioned joe about the next store. He said that when has ice cream been out there for a long time?

So just started that broken window for a long time.

That's what I asked. Then he ask me to leave. So, but most interesting that goes with the us is the us.

This is inside of the house, her house, that window. Look at toward jose house. And this is the latch, the, the host, two windows together.

And M, I didn't lift that. That was already a lot that. So this ledge had been loosen.

So when he walked in her her bedroom, SHE walked over toward the phone. Was that little table beside debate. Now, this woman, Terry, lived the long red. I do not think that SHE over long piers of time looked at this cruise in this ledge without, don't think about IT SHE can change the logs. Yeah, SHE won't leave this lot to us.

yeah. I talk to her friend maria SHE told me that tear was really cautious about locking her doors and had this fear of an intruder. So why would tea leave her window? Looked like that.

Is that a .

character? her.

What we do know is that he was at the theater that night. He left the theater.

SHE left at theater about seven twenty five to seven thirty. This was confirmed to me by one of the budget of participants who, while terror to her car and and and he said terror was in good spirits. And he said that terror told her that he had to go to her bosses barbecue.

So the next location we know he was that was at .

the barbecue SHE was at toward Davis house here. But before the SHE stopped, SHE got SHE arrived in a siller about quarter to eight. SHE went by her lay on reward's son's house, which is directly behind a troy Davis house.

and spoke about .

fifteen minutes. And then SHE just pulled up. A pair of choice have turned into the drop way, and then he stayed there.

SHE made, SHE received a lot of calls and made a several calls. The and SHE left a choice shower out about eleven clock. And this SHE drove up about a half a mile to her house of the here turned. And in the blink of aar SHE up the vanished.

except me intently, choice house is the last place SHE was known to be at.

the last place that he was known to be at. And that was the last person other than the killer to see her.

What's right in driving from the barbecue to her house? That's when he could have possibly seen this party or appearing to her driveway and maybe go and ryan or whoever else or outside go into their car. Maybe maybe they saw each others that hey, and that's how they met up health. Or is that party house from tear?

Celo across the street.

across on the .

street when he turned left into her driveway, her call will be right in front of the house.

front of IT. If somebody was in the driveway, process the street or on the porch of ford, no doubt.

who thought they would also now. I think my one one thirty A M, I think he .

was there.

What I just within within two hours that SHE got back home. I D like he was .

there. SHE likely went home because her clothes were Alfred from that .

night was inside of her .

house that SHE did definitely with him. There's evidence to support that with her car being there, her phone being there, her outfit being there. But anyone saying the love is a plant, why couldn't anything else be a plan to? We don't know. For a fact. He went home no one solver .

you ah when there's possibility that that I mean, it's a stretch that .

that wears a person keys.

somebody probably barto or took him from her unless someone .

told her person keys from her house. That means that he went somewhere with her person keys just true, and her person keys stay where he was.

And that supports her live in either way.

somehow her person keys travelled from her house to somewhere else. Either he took him there herself SHE was somewhere else that night, or someone stole them from her.

Now, I mean, as possible, but is a stress that they when they removed or closed, rather than burning in her clothes, they removed to a closed and and they took phone and care much at house and and just a month .

or to go through all the trouble of taking a phone back to tear house and putting them on the charger, bring yourself back to the person's house. That's why why would you not put the person he's back in there too? One more thing that I was that was weird.

The front door or house was locked. That's right, meaning that someone had to lock IT with her keys, the keys that are in fact missing. They yeah, I think either way, somebody else was at terrace house that night.

Was he there at the same time? I don't know, but somebody else was there because her door was locked and her keys are gone unless tera left on her own without her phone and went somewhere else and just never made IT back. Either way, we're just speculating at this point.

What's everything is that we're looking at all these details now twelve years later, this could mean all this could mean nothing really is a window was unlocked. Maybe he just unlocked at that night or IT was just always like that IT was nobody deal or maybe never even knew there was a class on the ground or maybe all these things are pieces to a puzzle that say that there was a struggle inside the home. Nothing definitive here, but we don't have much else to look at, to be honest. The nighter went missing. SHE was in this same theater.

Yes, has been nearly .

thirteen years ago.

The the nights are was here. Maybe even somebody could have been stocking her, you don't know.

in the that .

individual could have .

been in the theatre.

So when the arrests happened, was that a shocked to you?

absolutely. And I literally just broke down in tears. IT was surreal.

Ryan was a student here. I did not teach him, but I didn't know him. And i've been friends with his family my whole life.

How do you know ran.

ran and now went to school together? We still OK in till the verty years. A good bit like phone calls.

How would you describe, right?

A very calm individual, non confrontational gaa. Very quiet, very polite. He's A R, C, A. Likes poetry. He is kind of luck at the hopeless romantic time.

Was there a dark side to run?

Not really not that I would know of.

I I don't know. I mean, the ryan, you know, is that guy can both murder .

the ran dog I know is not capable of more or no, i'd do you think ran had a hand at your words and go on along with both story I think ran about IT hook on to think or onstar.

Hey, guys, don't forget up advantages coming the T V. Sunday, november eighteenth on oxygen. Trust me, you don't wanted miss this. Always roll up on the hutt and peak on orchard and see if someone talk to is there. I know they will be there, but i'm sure someone .

We go pick, but no one knows. I say pan. I ve also saying peco. I miss to done the most .

IT took a years before I was actually able to speak with this guy.

Nobody knew what happened to her, even the police. They didn't have no idea something, only one. I know exactly what happened.

The man who says he murdered Denny's felica. And I find out what really happened that terrible night.

The only two people that know what happened that night is tiny, and him, he is the one that has answers, believe.
