O'Donnell holds a Master's degree in War Studies from King's College London and is a columnist for Foreign Policy. Her work has been featured in various prestigious publications worldwide. In 2007, she authored "High Tea in Mosul: The True Story of Two English women in War-Torn Iraq," which explores the lives of two Englishwomen in Iraq during the war.
