The president is protecting the entire U.S. coast as well as portions of the Gulf of Mexico, Pacific Coast and northern Bering Sea from future oil and gas leasing. In all, the ban blocks 625 million acres of U.S. ocean from drilling. President Biden says his decision reflects what coastal communities, businesses and beachgoers have long known, that drilling could cause irreversible damage to places held dear. Well, on Wall Street, stocks this morning are on the rise. To start the week, that'll be paused on Thursday when there'll be no trading honoring former President Jimmy Carter who will have a state funeral that day. Right now, the Dow is up 245 points.
