They've cut the power in parts of Southern California. I'm Dave Anthony, Fox News, trying to prevent even more wildfires from sparking and strong winds. Many power lines have already burned down as three blazes rage out of control. This is a dynamic...

and dangerous fire that is continuing to grow. We do have many structures damaged and destroyed, but we're not able to quantify that at this time. Los Angeles Fire spokeswoman Margaret Stewart, tens of thousands of people evacuated. We live in a dream community, which unfortunately doesn't exist, I think, anymore. Rachel Darvish fled in Pacific Palisades, tells Fox from a hotel getting out was chaos. Just people were getting out of their cars to run away from the fire.

Fox's Jonathan Hunt standing near a house that burned down. This one on the corner of Sunset Boulevard, the iconic Sunset Boulevard that runs to, from and through the Pacific Palisades. The fire's torched about 3,000 acres and counting. It doesn't look like firefighters really have much of a grip

grip on the fire itself. As I look down the street here, I can see in the distance more and more homes burning. At the moment, this remains while they're trying to save any property they can. But their biggest priority right now is saving lives.

President-elect Trump not giving up fighting his New York convictions on falsifying business records. He's long called a witch hunt. Trump's lawyers already busy this morning filing an emergency petition with the U.S. Supreme Court to block his sentencing in his New York criminal trial set for Friday, which if that doesn't happen, he will have to appear virtually or in person. Fox's Nate Foy near the Trump estate in West Palm Beach, Florida. Later today, the president-elect will gather with Republican senators at the Capitol, where Fox's Aisha Hosni reports.

All on the same page. They all have the same agenda, Trump's agenda. They just don't know how to get there, which path to take. So tonight might be an attempt to get the president-elect to make a decision for them. He wants one big budget reconciliation bill for his agenda that Democrats can't filibuster.

The Dow down 116 points, but the Nasdaq has just moved higher. It's gaining 32. The S&P 500 losing one point. Tomorrow, the stock market will be closed on the National Day of Mourning for former President Carter's funeral. And also because of that,

Two economic reports we typically get Thursdays are out this morning. Payroll processing company ADP says 122,000 new positions were added. That's fewer than November and below the estimate. ADP chief economist Neela Richardson says the labor market downshifted to more modest pace of growth in December. Healthcare created more jobs than any other sector. Employment in manufacturing shrank for the third straight month.

However, companies still appear to be holding on to current staff. The number of new claims for unemployment benefits declined last week to 201,000. Continuing claims, the number of those remaining on benefits remained over 1.8 million. Ginny Koselda, Fox News. The government is offering us more help.

to keep us from being hacked. The federal government is rolling out a consumer labeling system designed to help Americans pick smart devices that are less vulnerable to hacking. Under the voluntary program called the U.S. Cyber Trustmark Initiative, manufacturers can affix the label on their products if they meet federal cybersecurity standards. The types of devices that can seek to carry the label include baby monitors, home security cameras, fitness trackers, refrigerators, and other internet-connected appliances.

The labels will include a distinctive Shield logo, as well as QR codes that consumers can scan for more information about the security of the device. John Saucier, Fox News. The price of oil this morning is up slightly, still around $74 a barrel. Gas is unchanged. AAA's national average for regular remains $3.06 per gallon. That's the same price as last Wednesday, a nickel more than a month ago.
