As the NASDAQ plunges 540 points, NVIDIA, a big player in the AI industry, is down 11%. The Dow, though, not down nearly as much as the NASDAQ. It's falling 87 points. The S&P 500 losing 98. Now, an update on U.S. Steel, which is still trying to merge with a Japanese company. Ankara Holdings, an activist investment firm, is pushing U.S. Steel to drop its planned merger with Nippon Steel. The Wall Street Journal reports Ankara is not interested in pursuing a sale of U.S. Steel to another party. It wants to make changes to improve the business.
The Biden administration blocked the deal at the start of the year on national security concerns. President Trump has also said he opposes the merger.
