Watching deadly weather, I'm Paul Stevens, Fox News. For the fourth day in a row, life-threatening storms are impacting the central U.S. Fox's Chanley Painter. Another round of torrential storms and flash flooding are hammering the south and midwest this weekend. The severe weather is blamed for at least 16 deaths and dozens of injuries across several states.
Entire neighborhoods have been destroyed by both tornadoes and catastrophic flooding. More than 100,000 people remain without power. Storm threats are expected to continue through the weekend.
That rainfall not seen in generations, they say, triggering evacuation orders. Now, the National Weather Service saying dozens of locations in multiple states are set to reach what it calls major flood states. Hundreds of protests across the country yesterday against President Trump and Elon Musk's cost-cutting efforts. Tens of thousands in the streets of Washington, D.C. I'm seriously concerned.
I would say horrified with what is happening in our country today. One of the reasons I wanted to come was I'm tired of feeling helpless and like there's nothing that I can do. So I'm like, well, this is a place to start. President Trump was in Florida at the time of the protests. In a statement, the White House said the president will always protect Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid for eligible beneficiaries. Police in Canada say they've arrested a man who barricaded himself inside Parliament's East Block.
This all happening last night in Ottawa. It forced people to evacuate the building, leading police to shut down a big stretch of Wellington Street that runs in front of Parliament Hill. No immediate word on a charge or a motive for all this.
A government webpage says the east block of the building houses the offices of senators and their staff members. Hey, everyone. This is Lauren Green, host of the Lighthouse Faith Podcast. I recently sat down with Charles Payne to talk about his new special, A Matter of Faith. You want to kind of do the right thing as much as possible and help everyone as much as possible. But there are certain rules when it comes to the stock market. You have to be profitable a certain period of time. You have to do this. You have to do that. And there are other things out of their control. So it's easier as a private company than a publicly traded company.
