The Nobel Peace Prize committees. His former president, Jimmy Carter, should be praised for his decades of untiring efforts to find peaceful solutions. Carter won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2002.

The U.S. Appeals Court has upheld a jury verdict against Trump in the defamation suit filed against him by author E. Jean Carroll, who alleged he sexually assaulted her in a store dressing room in the 1990s, then defamed her while denying Carroll's allegations. The jury awarded her $5 million. Trump is also appealing a second jury verdict that orders him to pay Carroll $83 million more.
The next Congress will be sworn in Friday, and House Speaker Mike Johnson may not be elected Speaker again by his fellow Republicans, including Congresswoman Victoria Sparks, who tells Fox... I can give him a chance, but I would like to hear from him how he's going to be delivering this agenda and what
plan he has and he hasn't been doing it. Sparks is from Ukraine, born there when it was part of the Soviet Union. Today, President Biden announced another two and a half billion dollars in weapons and military aid, saying his administration has now given Ukraine all the assistance allotted by Congress to help battle Russia's invasion.

There's a big sell-off on Wall Street on the second-to-last trading day of the year. The Dow plunging 653 points. The Nasdaq dropping 348, a 94-point drop for the S&P 500. The price of oil is up about a half dollar. It's over 71 bucks a barrel. Gas is unchanged, though. AAA's national average for regular remains 302 a gallon. That's two cents less than a week ago, nine cents cheaper than a year ago.
Since the 2024 Trump election victory, some companies have rolled back some programs conservatives have pushed back against, but retailer Costco may buck that trend. Companies board of directors urging shareholders to vote against a proposal that would eliminate the wholesalers diversity, equity and inclusion program. Board of directors arguing that DEI helps the company attract and retain employees.
Numerous companies have rolled back their DEI programs, including Lowe's, Ford, Boeing, Tractor Supply, John Deere, Harley-Davidson, some of them after facing conservative boycotts from right-wing organizations.
