Fire crews on high alert. I'm Lisa LaSara, Fox News. As forecasters say, the Santa Ana winds that have helped fan the flames of the Southern California wildfires are expected to return. At least 24 people have died and thousands of homes have burned to the ground. L.A. District Attorney Nathan Hockman announcing arson charges against Jose Escobar. Three different arson charges.

He is looking at nine years in state prison. Noting this was in Azusa and is not related to the major wildfires, nine others face charges including burglary, looting and grand theft, including two near the Palisades fire and two at a home in Altadena where a stolen Emmy Award was recovered. Officials also working with the FBI to investigate price gouging and drone activity. So we are coming across probably 20 incursions a day.

Akil Davis, assistant director of the FBI's L.A. field office, stressing drones prevent aerial crews from fighting the fires. Fox's Kristen Goodwin. Lawsuits have been filed claiming utility equipment from Southern California. Edson sparked the Eden fire, which has roared through the Pacific Palisades. Authorities not yet determined a cause for any of the fires.

Confirmation hearings for President-elect Trump's cabinet picks start tomorrow. Republicans rushing to confirm as many nominees as fast as possible. The marquee event this week, the confirmation hearing for Defense Secretary nominee Pete Hegseth. His allies expect a rough ride. Hegseth supporters forming a rear guard to convince Senate skeptics.

Fox confirms that Armed Services Committee Chairman Roger Wicker and the panel's top Democrat Jack Reed of Rhode Island studied the customary documents the FBI prepped for the transition team about Hegseth. Reed wonders about his readiness for the job. Fox's chat program on Capitol Hill, Hegseth has been accused of sexual assault and of alcohol abuse, which he denies. America is listening to Fox News.

A political power struggle in Minnesota's statehouse as one party swearing in members early and the other threatening to remove opposition members. When the November election was over, Minnesota's statehouse was projected to have 67 Democrats and 67 Republicans, prompting the question, who's in charge?

Republicans challenged the residency for one Democratic seat, giving conservatives control temporarily. Democrats still want the even split to be honored and have suggested a power sharing deal. Democrats pledged to not show up on Tuesday, the first legislative day without it, leaving Republicans without enough members to conduct business.

Republicans say they may move to recall Democratic members if they are no-shows. Grinnell Scott, Fox News. The federal government has ended its legal fight against the company that owns the salvage rights to the Titanic, saying the RMS Titanic no longer has plans to dive to the shipwreck.

The Food and Drug Administration releasing its first ever draft guidance for using artificial intelligence while developing drugs and medical devices. Focusing on what the FDA terms is credibility, the regulators are recognizing that virtually every pharmaceutical company will be using AI to create new drugs. But there needs to be a new way of verifying such systems.

establishing trust in letting computers make our medicine. The agency is proposing new protocols requiring drug makers to disclose exactly how they used artificial intelligence to develop products, with the regulators verifying the data provided by the AI is accurate.
