The country this weekend has just been unbelievable. Over 250 tornado warnings. We're looking at the potential of approaching over nearly 80 actual tornadoes. National Weather Service is working all that out as we speak. They're on the ground and working it out in their offices.
And over 35 people have lost their lives in total across multiple states, from the wildfires and the wind in Texas and Oklahoma to the supercells and the twisters here in the south and in the Midwest. Tornado watches remain in effect for parts of Virginia, the Carolinas and Florida. Authorities in the Dominican Republic want to talk to a man named Joseph Reby. He's the last person who was seen with Sadiq Shah.
Kanaki, an American college student who disappeared earlier this month while she was on vacation there. Reby says they were swept out to sea and that he tried to save her. We are learning that Reby's passport was confiscated by authorities. His lawyers confirming this to Fox News saying, quote, it was confiscated by authorities when he tried to check out several days ago when the investigation began. He hasn't had access to it since then.
Reby's been under police surveillance at the Rio Republica Hotel since the investigation began. His parents say that he's only left to go to the police station for interviews. Top Democrat in the Senate is getting pushback from members of his own party. Chuck Schumer among 10 Democrats who voted in favor of the Trump backstop gap bill to fund the government through September. A lot of Democrats are not buying Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer's argument that a government shutdown would have been worse than the GOP spending bill. He's looking for a suspect. New York City police say a 45-year-old man was found on fire around 4 a.m. He was severely burned and rushed by authorities into an ambulance after the flames were put out. Police are now looking for a suspect they believe to be an unidentified man. They have no word yet on a possible motive. The case is eerily similar to that of a woman who burned to death in New York last December.

A devastating fire at a nightclub in North Macedonia killed 59 people. It's injured at least 155. Started early this morning during a concert. The blaze, we are told, was sparked by pyrotechnics used on stage, which ignited the roof video on social media. Shows panic inside the club.
