The Department of Justice is going after CVS for unlawfully filling opioid prescriptions. The DOJ is suing CVS, accusing the pharmaceutical giant of filling prescriptions for controlled substances that lacked a legitimate medical purpose.
and billing federal health insurance programs contributing to a nationwide epidemic of opioid addiction and overdose. The Justice Department said the violations were driven by company-mandated performance metrics, leading to red flags being ignored. And in some cases, patients died of overdoses shortly after filling illegal prescriptions. Fox's Hillary Barsky, CBS, says it's cooperated with this investigation for more than four years and strongly disagreed with the allegations.
Madison, Wisconsin Police Chief Sean Barnes says the 15-year-old girl who opened fire at a Christian school this week had two weapons but used only one. A teacher and a student were killed and six others wounded before the girl died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. A series of intense airstrikes have shaken Yemen's capital and a port city shortly after Houthi missile targeted central Israel. America is listening to Fox News.

Chen Jinping appeared in a federal courtroom in Brooklyn to plead to a single count of conspiracy to act as an agent of a foreign government. Prosecutors say Chen and a co-defendant, Liu Jianwang, set up the station in New York's Chinatown neighborhood.
It allegedly operated on behalf of the People's Republic of China to track pro-democracy dissidents, but tried to conceal that to some degree by also providing services such as Chinese driver's license renewals. An FBI investigation uncovered the operation in 2022. Chen faces up to five years in prison. Liu returns to court in February.
Grinnell Scott, Fox News. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is backed away from seeking a recall of nearly 50 million airbag inflators and says it will investigate further after the auto industry raised questions about whether all the inflators made by ARC Automotive of Tennessee are defective.
Montana's highest court rules in a landmark environmental case. In a 6-1 ruling, Montana's state Supreme Court has upheld a lower court ruling that found the state's process for issuing permits for fossil fuel development violated Montana's constitutional rights to a clean environment.
The state's Environmental Policy Act prevents considering the effects of greenhouse gases when issuing permits for gas, oil, and coal projects. Several young people had filed suit against the state over that policy in 2020. A spokesperson for the state's Attorney General's office called the ruling absurd and said the state would appeal.
