She's there on behalf of the European Union. She and President Trump have a good working relationship. So the EU and the member nations there, they see her as a promising representative of sorts. They are hoping that she's going to push for a zero for zero tariff deal that the EU is seeking out.
The Wall Street Journal writes Maloney's broader goal is to keep the U.S. firmly anchored to Europe, positioning herself as a potential bridge between Western allies. Now, yesterday, President Trump surprised some by taking direct involvement in trade talks with Japan. Federal Reserve Bank Chair Jerome Powell says the tariffs make for a challenging scenario forecasting the future of the economy. President Trump on true social posts. Powell's termination cannot come soon enough, but he's always too late to lower interest rates. Another major Federal Reserve official today is repeating Powell's assessment that it's not time for that.

Google is found to hold illegal monopolies in online advertising technology by a federal judge in Virginia. Another federal judge ruled in August that the company has a monopoly in online search. The rulings could lead to the Justice Department forcing the company to sell parts of its business. A man accused of attacking Jewish students at DePaul University in Chicago is due in court today.
20-year-old Adam Erkin faces two felony counts of a hate crime and aggravated battery, both felonies, in an attack on two Jewish students at DePaul University in November. Max Long and Michael Kaminsky say Erkin and another suspect wearing masks beat them as a nearby campus police officer didn't intervene. Since then, we've been prone to threats, anti-Semitic slurs, and persistent harassment.
