Winter storm, Blair. I'm Deborah Valentine, Fox News. A major winter storm affecting over 60 million people in 27 states through Monday.
It's affecting the plains, the Midwest to the mid-Atlantic. Fox Weather's Brandi Campbell reports from Kentucky. Folks across this area dealing with a variety of different winter precipitations. Here in the Bluegrass State, people, they're seeing their first big snow of the year. The snow has actually stopped. We're seeing sleep but also freezing rain coming down. We've had 7.7 inches of snow to fall here.
And here in Louisville, freezing rain and sleet coming down. We're going to start to see that ice accumulating in this area. Now, I've spoken with public works in this area, talking to them about their plow operations. They said they were hoping to leave a layer of snow so once the ice starts to accumulate, they can easily push it off. But they got more snow than they expected. The storm causing flight cancellations in Kansas City and St. Louis Sunday and power outages in Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky and Indiana.
