Sentencing set for Friday. I'm Ted Linder, Fox News. The Supreme Court rejecting President-elect Trump's bid to delay his sentencing in his hush money case in New York on Thursday night. Fox's Grinnell Scott with all the details. In a one-page decision, the Supreme Court ruled the sentencing for falsifying business records to high payments to an adult film actress will happen Friday morning. Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg said it's how the justice system should work. We brought a case.
A jury of ordinary New Yorkers returned 34 guilty verdicts. At Mar-a-Lago, the president-elect reacted, saying, expect an appeal. This is a long way from finished. Judge Juan Merchan has said he will likely not impose jail time as the president-elect watches virtually from Florida Friday.

A week-long tribute to former President Jimmy Carter culminated Thursday with a state funeral in D.C. President Biden delivering the eulogy for the 39th president, reminiscing about his longtime friend. Jimmy Carter's friendship taught me, and through his life taught me, the strength of character is more than title or the power we hold.
It's the strength to understand that everyone should be treated with dignity, respect. Jimmy Carter's grandson, Jason, sharing the more humorous side of his grandfather and telling a great story about the first time he called him on a cell phone. And on my phone, it said, Papa, mobile. So I answered it, of course, as a hey, Papa. He said, who's this? I said, this is Jason. He said, what are you doing? I said, I'm not doing anything. You called me.
He said, I didn't call you. I'm taking a picture. After the service, Carter was flown back to his hometown of Plains, Georgia for a burial outside of his home next to his late wife. The Biden administration succeeded in temporarily blocking a plea deal for the accused mastermind of the 9-11 attacks, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed.
The decision by a three-judge panel in the District of Columbia Federal Appeals Court following a request by the government to postpone a deal reached by the Defense Department's own officials. Mohammed was sent to enter a guilty plea Friday. Al-Qaeda's attacks on September 11, 2001 killed nearly 3,000 people. And still no Gaza ceasefire deal, but U.S. and Arab negotiators making progress, according to Palestinian sources, close to the ongoing talks in Qatar.
