Taking aim at the military. I'm Carmen Roberts, Fox News. President Trump signs four U.S. military executive orders for eliminating DEI programs, evaluating transgender service members' readiness, and
Reinstating troops discharged for refusing COVID vaccines and directing the U.S. to build an Iron Dome like Israel's. Fox's Jennifer Griffin has more on two of those orders. An executive order calling on the Pentagon to examine the issue of transgender troops in the military, which could lead to an eventual ban. An executive order to reinstate with back pay the 8,000 U.S. troops separated from service for refusing to take the COVID vaccine during the pandemic.
Congress forced the Biden administration to rescind the mandate in 2023. When the U.S. Navy reached out to all 1,878 sailors who had been separated, only two wanted to rejoin the Navy. The president signed the four orders Monday night as he flew back from Florida to Washington, D.C. Earlier, he told reporters that Microsoft is in talks to acquire TikTok and that he would like to see a bidding war over the app.
Speaking about another Chinese company, President Trump called the new AI platform DeepSeek a wake-up call for America, while also saying that its debut could be positive if it actually works more cheaply than U.S. competitors. DeepSeek said that training on one of its latest models costs $5.6 million, and that it's going to be a big deal for the company.
Compare that to the $100 million that Anthropic cited last year. DeepSeek's AI model has raised serious questions about the American companies and their dominance in this space.
Fox Business's Madison Allworth. Investors reacted to deep seek by dumping tech stocks over concerns that a low-cost AI model would threaten the dominance of AI leaders like NVIDIA. The Nasdaq plunged 3%. The S&P 500 down 1.5. The Dow up 289 points. America's listening to Fox News.

The Senate confirms another cabinet nominee for the Trump administration. Billionaire investor Scott Besant will serve as Treasury Secretary. The final Senate vote to confirm Besant included several Democrats voting in the affirmative. The investor and hedge fund manager will take control of the Treasury despite Massachusetts Democrat Elizabeth Warren's objection that Besant, as a billionaire himself... Has no demonstrated track record of fighting to make life better,
or more affordable for working people. Idaho GOP Senator Mike Crapo said Besson is tailor-made for the job. And he has the demeanor and character to be an effective secretary. Besson will become the nation's 79th Secretary of the Treasury. Grinnell Scott, Fox News. President Trump's claiming a victory in a tariff tiff with the country of Colombia. That country's president initially refused to allow migrant repatriation flights into his country, but...
That prompted President Trump to threaten tariffs, and now Colombia has agreed to accept the flights. A shooting inside a supermarket in Elkhart, Indiana, leaves three people dead and two police officers injured.
Police are calling it a sad day in Elkhart. They say the shooter is among the dead, following gunfire inside a Martin supermarket. Police rushing to the scene say they found two victims dead inside the store. That's when the shooter opened fire and was killed in the exchange of gunfire. Two officers who were hit are expected to recover. No immediate word on what prompted the shootings.
Gary Baumgarten, Fox News. And the Federal Appeals Court tosses out rules adopted by the Biden administration to protect new car buyers. The rules had banned bait and switch tactics and prohibited auto dealers from charging add-on costs that don't benefit new car buyers. I'm Carmen Roberts, and this is Fox News.
