The Azerbaijani Airlines flight was en route to Grozny in Russia after departing Azerbaijan's capital of Baku. The Embraer 190's pilot reportedly was attempting an emergency landing in the city of Akatu in Kazakhstan after striking birds.
Videos already posted to social media show the aircraft sharply descending before disintegrating and crashing, with some passengers trying to pull others away from the wreckage. Rescue crews and investigators from all three of those countries are responding to the scene. Eben Brown, Fox News. 29 survivors. A blue state governor planning to try to help illegal immigrants as the Trump administration prepares to take office. As President-elect Trump vows to push a mass deportation plan starting on day one for people in the country illegally, California Governor Gavin Newsom is planning to help migrants avoid the effort.
That according to a memo obtained by Politico, which calls for hubs that would connect those at risk of deportation with resources like legal help. The memo does not include the cost of the plan, which has been one of the many reasons, which also includes migrant crime, that the incoming Trump administration has used as a reason the deportations are needed.
In Washington, Ryan Schmelz, Fox News. Other leaders, including those in sanctuary cities, are promising to legally challenge any mass deportation efforts by the incoming Trump administration. Arizona Representative Debbie Lesko told Fox News Live that the 2024 election results speak for themselves. Ten counties in California flipped red. I don't understand why Governor Newsom and the Democrats in California aren't listening. They just aren't listening.
The deportations are likely to face legal challenges. The Mega Millions jackpot has grown to over $1.1 billion. There was no grand prize winner for Tuesday night's Mega Millions drawing. The estimated top prize for Friday night's drawing is now at $1.15 billion, potentially the fifth largest jackpot in the game's history.
Four players in California, Missouri, Pennsylvania, and Wyoming all matched five wide balls for $1 million on Tuesday, but they missed that coveted gold ball to capture the top prize on Christmas Eve.
