This is a Fox News alert. Israel and Hamas have a deal on Lisa Brady. Mediators confirming an agreement has been reached that includes a ceasefire in Gaza and the release of some hostages. I am told that the Qatari prime minister himself was in the negotiating room and pushed these Hamas officials to accept the agreement on the table. This is a six-week agreement that will ultimately see
33 hostages released from Hamas captivity in Gaza. Sources telling Fox's Trey Yinks at least 23 of those hostages are believed to be alive. Under the deal, Israel is expected to release hundreds of Palestinian prisoners. But Secretary of State Antony Blinken said yesterday, Hamas is believed to have recruited thousands of fighters, enough to replace the ones killed in the current conflict. And so while the war will take a pause, it's not over. And the Israelis have not reached that critical point
Objective that they laid out at the very beginning of this conflict to completely dismantle and destroy Hamas inside the Gaza Strip. More than 100 hostages were freed in a week-long truce in November of 2023. That was a month after the Hamas October 7th attacks.
President-elect Trump calls the ceasefire deal epic, suggesting it's a result of his re-election. Also posting online, his team will work closely with Israel and U.S. allies to make sure Gaza never again becomes a terrorist safe haven. Also just getting word from Denmark's prime minister. She told the president-elect in a phone call, it's up to Greenland to decide on any independence right now.
It's an autonomous Danish territory. Threats from China center stage at the confirmation hearing for Secretary of State nominee Marco Rubio, calling the Chinese Communist Party... The most potent...
and dangerous near peer adversary this nation has ever confronted. They have elements that the Soviet Union never possessed. Senator Rubio says much of what's needed to confront China has to happen in the U.S. to avoid reliance on them or other nations for critical supply chains. America is listening to Fox News.
Recapping the breaking news from the Middle East where mediators say Israel and Hamas have reached a ceasefire and hostage deal. It amounts to a pause in fighting to allow some hostages held by Hamas and Palestinian prisoners held by Israel to be freed with a chance for more talks on winding down the war. The deal still needs approval from the Israeli prime minister's cabinet.
Another Trump nominee facing a Senate panel today, his pick for CIA director. Former Texas congressman and former director of national intelligence, John Radcliffe, telling committee members if confirmed to lead the CIA that he'll reshape the intelligence community, removing politics from what he calls the most challenging national security environment in our nation's history. To the brave CIA officers listening around the world, if all of this sounds like what you signed up for,
then buckle up and get ready to make a difference. And if it doesn't, then find a new line of work. Radcliffe also telling the committee that the days of China pillaging American companies, infecting American infrastructure, and otherwise targeting and abusing the American people are over.
