A bipartisan bill on the Texas House would crack down on cell phones in school. House Bill 1481 would ban cell phones from Texas public school classrooms, requiring schools to designate a secure out-of-sight area to keep phones during instructional times.

The bill's author, state rep Republican Caroline Fairley, believes the cell phone ban will help test scores and combat bullying in schools. We have heard from so many teachers who have said, you know, we need the state to kind of have our back on this issue because we're in the classroom picking up phones and ending up, you know, being the bad guy.

A Connecticut middle school student is accused of attacking two Muslim students. called to the incident on March 3rd, which involved four 7th grade girls inside a locker room during gym. They say two 13-year-olds had minor injuries that did not require medical treatment.

Investigators say the 12-year-old evidently started the fight, which was motivated by religion and or ethnicity, which meets the legal term of a hate crime. Another 13-year-old student accused in the incident was referred to a youth diversionary program instead of being arrested. Fox's Tanya J. Powers. The United Nations just announcing that it will reduce its footprint in Gaza after five staff members of the organization's Palestinian Relief Agency were killed recently in resumed fighting.
