Starting tomorrow, student loan payments that were suspended during the COVID-19 pandemic will resume. Fox's Chanley Painter reports. As you may recall, during the pandemic, the first Trump administration paused collections on direct federal loans, and then the Biden White House extended that

But now, after more than five years, the second Trump administration is resuming collections on defaulted student loans. The secretary of education posting this quote, the student loan portfolio has increased to over one point six trillion dollars and still climbing today. On May 5th, we will begin the process of

moving roughly 1.8 million borrowers into repayment plans and restart collections of loans in default. The Department of Education says it will target borrowers who haven't made payments for more than 270 days or more. Roughly 5 million borrowers are in default on their student loans. Borrowers experiencing financial difficulties can go to their loan servicer to have their payments delayed or reduced.

Toyota, let's go places. Israel is planning to strike back at Houthi rebels in Yemen. Earlier today, the Houthis launched a missile that landed near Israel's Ben Gurion Airport. Multiple people were hurt and the attack canceled a number of flights and halted commuter traffic.
