Keeping an eye to the sky. I'm Paul Stevens, Fox News. Wintery weather threatening to impact many family gatherings during this holiday week. Fox's Chanley Painter. Winter weather could put a damper on holiday travel as millions begin to hit the roads and skies ahead of Christmas and Hanukkah. People in the south and along the west coast are bracing for heavy rain over the coming week.

while those in the Northeast and Great Lakes region could see accumulating snow and frigid temperatures. More than 25,000 flights were either canceled or delayed on Saturday. And AAA saying a record 120 million folks will be traveling this holiday season. If you're hopping on a plane today for holiday travel, you'll need some luck and some patience as well. Your holiday may not be until Wednesday, but today's the day most people will attempt to travel to see family, friends, or just to have a vacation.

I'm sure around Christmas time and Hanukkah, it's going to get really crowded. She's flying out from Miami. This traveler already left from Fort Lauderdale when the lines were short. I try to do things a week ahead to avoid the rush. It's probably definitely going to pick up, especially with holidays kind of fall in the middle of the week. TSA expects some 40 million Americans to fly this Christmas season. Leaving extra time to check in will be a good idea.

In Broward County, Florida, Evan Brown, Fox News. Some Walmart employees will now be wearing body cams. It's part of a pilot program the company says to deter conflict and prevent theft. Some locations have signs warning shoppers they're being recorded. TJ Maxx, Marshalls and HomeGoods have also started using body cameras. The parent company of those stores saying the devices have helped cut down on lost inventory.

President Biden signing a government funding bill into law narrowly avoids a government shutdown. At the White House, Fox's David Spunt. The government is officially open right now. However, it really was close to the wire.

He released a statement touting compromise. He said this agreement represents a compromise, which means neither side got everything it wanted, but it rejects the accelerated pathway to a tax cut for billionaires that Republicans sought, and it ensures the government can continue to operate at full capacity. Things looked murky for a day or so after House Speaker Mike Johnson tore up the original agreement with Democrats once Elon Musk and President-elect Trump chimed in.

And the bill provides more than $100 billion in disaster aid after communities in the southeast were ravaged by Hurricanes Helene and Milton, as well as $10 billion for economic assistance to farmers.

The job search side indeed is seeing white collar workers dealing with longer job searches as the labor market cools. Indeed's economists saying job postings for software development, media communication and marketing were all 20 percent or more below pre-pandemic levels.

In October, the number of Americans out of work for 27 weeks or longer increasing to nearly 1.7 million in November. Life expectancy in the U.S. rebounding to pre-pandemic levels rising after a slight drop.
