Pointing a finger, I'm Paul Stevens, Fox News. More than 30 passengers are dead after an Azerbaijan Airlines flight crashed near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan on Wednesday, and aviation and Ukrainian officials are placing the blame for that crash on Russia.
are blaming Russian anti-aircraft fire. The Wall Street Journal reporting that an aviation security firm believes the flight was likely shot down by a Russian military air defense system after it evaluated the footage of the crash, damage to the aircraft and recent military activity. And some aviation experts have suggested that the perforations in the plane's tail section looked consistent with a possible missile strike or the work of air defense.
This crash did come shortly after drone strikes hit southern Russia Wednesday morning and drone activity, of course, has shut down airports in that area in the past.
And that is Fox's Chandley Painter, a Kremlin spokesperson, saying it would be wrong to speculate on the cause of that crash until an investigation is concluded. Gaza ceasefire talks between Israel and Hamas continue to get complicated. Both parties accusing each other of constantly moving the goalposts. Fox's Trey Yinks with more in Tel Aviv. Diplomatic efforts are ongoing to try and reach a ceasefire agreement. Reports do indicate...
that both sides are accusing the other of adding conditions or changing positions as it relates to the ongoing conversations being facilitated by the Qataris and the Egyptians. While these conversations take place, Israel is continuing strikes against Gaza. Overnight, five Palestinians were killed while in a van marked with the word press. The Israeli military claimed they were members of Islamic Jihad, while initial photos of the group showed them previously working as journalists. With the war in Gaza ongoing, Israel is dealing with an uproar
taken attacks from the Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen. And despite all this, Palestinian officials say the talks are around 90 percent done. America's listening to Fox News.

A lot of people flying today, among them President Biden, but he'll be on Air Force One heading to St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands for his last vacation while he's in the White House. Fox's Alexandria Hoff on how Mr. Biden and the president-elect are spending the holidays. The president's departure today is not really a departure from what we've been seeing over the past few weeks. You know, you've seen it down on Capitol Hill where many were wondering where he is. Aside from mass clemency announcements and some appearances on the holiday circuit, President Biden really hasn't weighed in on much.
Now, President-elect Trump shared well wishes, too, for Mar-a-Lago, but then he took a more active approach to messaging in a series of posts weighing in on everything from his appointees to the border. In one, he used the holiday greetings to push forward his priorities, writing, Merry Christmas to all, including to the wonderful soldiers of China who are lovingly but illegally operating the Panama Canal. He wrote that in a separate post. Trump has recently advocated for reclaiming control to also combat being ripped off, as he said, by shipping fees.
And that's Fox's Alexandria Hoff. And Donald Trump and incoming border czar Tom Holman vowing to crack down on criminal migrants. One program could help them with that. The program is called 287G. How it works is it allows ICE to basically partner with local and state law enforcement that run the jails. And then they train specific officers.
officers on how they can communicate and identify any migrants at the jail, and then they can flag ICE. So critics of this program, they say it creates a divide between the communities and then law enforcement. Supporters say, though, you only need to look at the headlines to see why it's needed. Twenty-five counties right here in Texas already have 287G agreements.
And that's Fox's Brooke Taylor, a man accused of slashing two people at New York's Grand Central Station on Christmas Eve, has been arrested facing assault and menacing charges of the attack, leaving a 42-year-old man with an injured wrist, a 26-year-old woman with a neck injury.
