Lead state's attorney, Allison Healy, after the verdict. It is my sincere hope that today's verdict brings some peace and closure to the entire Moran family.
While no verdict or sentence can ever bring Rachel back, I am proud of the work that was done to ensure that justice was served. Maryland does not have the death penalty, so Martinez-Hernandez is facing life behind bars without parole. Sentencing is expected in the coming months.

A man arrested on charges of firebombing Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro's home is being held without bond. Pennsylvania State Police say 38-year-old Cody Balmer has turned himself in, admitting to making Molotov cocktails to firebomb the mansion of Governor Josh Shapiro. And according to police, Balmer stated that he harbored hatred towards Shapiro, so much so that according to court documents...
Bomber planned to beat him with a hammer. Bomber now faces charges that include attempted murder and domestic terrorism. And while a judge has denied him bail, court records reveal Bomber was out on bail for a 2023 assault charge when police say he firebombed Shapiro's home.
Fox's Ashley Strohmeyer. Denmark releases a Chicago college student after police arrested him on charges of assaulting an Uber driver. While 20-year-old Owen Ray has been released from jail in Denmark, he's not permitted to leave the country, at least not yet. Ray's parents have released a statement. It reads, quote, we are relieved that Owen has been released from a Danish prison following the unprovoked assault. He and his friends suffered at the hands of an Uber driver on March 31st.
However, we remain deeply concerned that Danish authorities have confiscated his passport and will not allow him to return to the United States.
