Devastating wildfires burning in Southern California. I'm Carmen Roberts, Fox News. Three wildfires are now burning in the L.A. area, prompting the evacuation of more than 30,000 people and destroying many homes. And we're losing more. And so we have limited resources. We're trying to get all the resources we can into this area.
but we're doing the best we can. That firefighter is battling the Palisades fire, which, like the other two, is burning out of control. Evacuations caused huge traffic jams, forcing some residents to leave their cars behind and run. Other people scrambling to get their animals away from the fire. Fox 11 LA's Gina Silva on the scene. People coming with their horses. They're trying to rescue their animals. Hi there.
How many more horses do you have? We have a couple we just let loose over there. We're trying to get as many as we can out. Are any homes out there on fire? Honestly, I did not pay attention. I just drove straight to the barn to get my horses out and get the rest of these guys out. We're not going to let them burn. Strong Santa Ana winds are whipping the flames in the second fire breaking out near Eaton Canyon. The third fire, the Hearst fire, prompting immediate evacuations in the San Fernando Valley.
Deadline reports the fires prevented President Biden from leaving the Los Angeles area yesterday. He was there to dedicate two national monuments but had to cancel the event as the Palisades fire quickly grew. President Biden put out a statement, though, that he has been briefed on the situation. He's offering any federal assistance that's needed. He's also approved California Governor Gavin Newsom's request for any assistance.

President-elect Trump plans to meet with Republican senators today. The chairwoman of the Senate Republican Policy Committee, Shelley Moore Capito of West Virginia, told Fox News she's hosting a huddle with President-elect Trump at the Capitol today. He told reporters at Mar-a-Lago Tuesday they'll be talking about all the policy he wants to get into one big reconciliation bill, he hopes, including tax policy. Well, I like one big, beautiful bill, and I always have, I always will. But if two is more certain,
It does go a little bit quicker because you can do the immigration stuff early. He praised what he called a wonderful Republican Congress, along with House Speaker Mike Johnson. We have a leader, by the way, in the Senate, I think has been great. John Thune has been doing a fantastic job. Legislation that gets through the reconciliation process is not subject to the filibuster, so it could pass with a simple majority.
Jessica Rosenthal, Fox News. A driver trying to reach a Colorado ski resort wound up stuck after his GPS steered him off course. In a video posted on Reddit, the driver of the Audi hatchback claims he was trying to get to the Keystone Resort's employee housing area Sunday night and following directions from Siri, but instead ended up at the bottom of a trail. His car then became stuck in the snow, and so that's when he wrote a note and said he'd be back tomorrow.
The following morning, the man alerted the resort as to what happened and went skiing as employees tried to help dig the car out but had no luck.
The resort then got the man a tow truck who pulled the man's car out. The Summit County Sheriff's Office noting the man did not receive a citation because his vehicle wasn't abandoned on a main road. Ted Linder, Fox News. And a developing winter storm threatening to drop snow, sleet and freezing rain on parts of Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas starting tonight.
