Deaths rise in the California wildfires with one investigated as arson. I'm Sue Guzman, Fox News. The death toll continues to rise in the California wildfires. The L.A. County Medical Examiner's Office says 10 people have now lost their lives. Here's Fox's Kristen Goodwin. L.A. City Fire Chief Kristen Crowley revealing the Palisades fire is roughly 20,000 acres.
We do have a confirmed two fatalities that are now due to this incident. Several others were killed in the Eaton fire. With how they're moving, you are not going to outrun these fires.
If you stay, you're going to die in the menace. Not worth it. Senator Adam Schiff urging folks to follow evacuation orders. Another fire dubbed the Kenneth Fire now burning in L.A. and Ventura counties. And as President Biden announced, we're going to cover that debris removal and all of your emergency protective measures at 100 percent for 180 days. FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell calling the devastation catastrophic.
Kristen Goodwin, Fox News. One of two essential super scooper aircraft assisting in the fires was struck by a civilian drone in the Palisades and is now grounded and out of service with wing damage. The FAA is investigating. Meanwhile, the LAFD has arrested a man on arson charges in the
Kenneth fire. More from Fox's Matt Tim. LAPD reports that it arrested a person for suspicion of arson in proximity to this fire, the Kenneth fire. LAPD tells me and that officer that I just spoke with said that they cannot confirm that that arson arrest is directly related to the origin of the Kenneth fire, just that this arson arrest happened
within proximity of the fire, and that person is being investigated. This fire threatened a lot of homes, and at one point there was a mandatory evacuation. Ventura County reports that it stopped the forward progress of the Kenneth Fire, which is good news. And actor Alec Baldwin sues for malicious prosecution after a judge dismissed the fatal on-set movie shooting case against him. America's listening to Fox News.

The U.S. Supreme Court rejecting President-elect Donald Trump's bid to delay his sentencing today in his hush money case in New York. Judge Juan Mershon has said he won't give Trump jail time, fines or probation. The Biden administration temporarily blocking a plea deal for an accused 9-11 mastermind. The Biden administration had urged a federal appeals court to block a guilty plea from the man believed to have been behind the attacks that killed nearly 3,000 people. That plea would have given Khalid Sheikh
Muhammad a life sentence rather than being executed. The deal reached by Defense Department officials last summer, but it outraged Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin. He intervened to throw it out. Defense lawyers said the attempt to toss the deal showed negligent mishandling of the case by the U.S. military. The decision Thursday by a three-judge panel means the plea deal is on hold until more briefings are filed.

because I think it's ridiculous that they're not telling you about what's going on with the drones. The drones have been sighted across many sensitive sites around the U.S. since November, including military research facilities, military bases, police stations, power lines, nuclear power plants, and critical infrastructure. The FBI has claimed they pose no threats to national security or the public.
And singer and anti-gay rights activist Anita Bryant has died. According to an obituary, Bryant died at her home in Edmond, Oklahoma at the age of 84 last month. Bryant was a brand ambassador for the Florida Citrus Commission. Her breakfast without orange juice is like a day without sunshine, a staple in orange juice ads back in the 1970s. Her anti-gay rights position led to boycotts of Florida orange juice and also affected her concert bookings.
