Officials are saying people should not be entering into the fire zone. We've seen residents trying to get in, trying to see what's left of their homes, but unfortunately they're just not allowed in. The fire is killing at least 11 people. Governor Gavin Newsom calling this deeply troubling and ordering an independent investigation. Initial crews battling the Palisades fire, seeing a loss of water pressure, which L.A. Water and Power says was from tremendous demand.
Newsom writes, while water supplies from local fire hydrants are not designed to extinguish wildfires over large areas, losing supplies from fire hydrants likely impaired the effort to protect some homes and evacuation corridors. Adding, we need answers to how that's going to affect our lives.
