He stands behind the report. I'm Carmen Roberts, Fox News. Early this morning, the Justice Department released former special counsel Jack Smith's report on the Trump election interference case. In it, Smith said his office fully stands behind the decision to bring criminal charges against Trump.
Among other things, Smith wrote in the lengthy report that his team stood up for the rule of law as it investigated Trump's efforts to overturn the 2020 election. Prosecutors dropped the case after the president-elect won last year's election. Strong Santa Ana winds expected to slam the Los Angeles area over the next two days.

Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman Roger Wicker and the committee's top Democrat Jack Reed just read a background file on Hegseth. Reed says he has more questions than answers. Fox's Chad Pergram on Capitol Hill. Hegseth faces allegations of sexual misconduct and financial mismanagement, which he denies.
